We came to Liquid last year to chill for my son's 21st birthday. Tonight we came to chill for our daughter's 21st birthday. We came in around 10:30. The vibe was easy going. It's wasn't overly crowded yet. Everyone there was just hanging out and enjoying the scene. The bartender that helped us tonight was really nice. We started a tab and got some drinks started. I have had obscene amounts charged on my card before from the bartender not being attentive with which card was charged. I appreciate that this bartender was careful and reassuring me that it was my card that was being charged. That showed me that he was careful with other tabs as well. We ordered a few drinks. Washington apple shots, Captain and cokes, dirty Shirleys. Each one of the drinks were not lacking in the alcohol department. You're getting your money's worth in your drink. The pool tables are always busy. We played a couple rounds. Mario Kart is always a win. And watching buzzed people punch the punching bag is always entertaining. If you're looking for a cool spot to kick it, Liquid is your joint. Music is loud, the games are fun and the drinks are good. We had a great time kicking it with our daughter at Liquid tonight. I'm sure she will be back to enjoy the vibe. Us old folks will just hear about it the next day. read more

This is a fun place, as it should be. We came for the comedian, Shawn Pelofsky. She was just great and would highly recommend seeing her when she returns. The MC, Minerva, was a real hoot added a lot of liveliness to the evening. The first two comics were just the warm ups so nothing special. We had drinks which were fine, although it would have been nice if they had been stirred prior to being served so we didn't end up with a first taste of pure alcohol with no straw to stir with. Ginger stirring is a pain. The server was really sweet, but a little lost. Kept forgetting to bring things and would have a lime instead of a lemon as requested, that kind of thing. But overall, would recommend this place when they have a decent comedian. Not a bad table in the place. read more

It's a very entertaining place to be on a Saturday night. On Sundays they hold Nocturnum from 10pm to 2am. A fun "gothly" hangout for LGBT, BDSM, alternative and gothly people alike. Went to watch some new comedians, some in line for "Boises funniest" and I have to say that the diversity was clear. Some a bit too crude for my taste but others very amusing. I'm more of a stay at home type when it comes to clubs and the night we went was intimate and non intimidating, the comidians came out and had smokes and jokes, pretty good time. Table service was great, prompt and correct with our drinks. I like the patio and the general relaxed mood, parking can be a pain if you don't like to pay but otherwise it can be a great time. read more

I've visited this location. Many of times over the years even when it was the funny bone. Liquid is fun, and always have great staff. The comedy is always on point. It seems that the less known people are much funny than the experienced. I've seen Gilbert Godfrey and Dustin diamond there and both were, to me, a disappointment but that has no reflect on the club. Count your money at Liquid... I was looking for a place to have a drink with my wife this evening. We walked over near BoDo because we enjoy the bars there - Solid, Happy Fish, Ha' Penny, Protos, etc. We walked by Solid around the corner where we could hear a lot of people. Happy Fish was packed but Liquid seemed pretty open. Like a shower in a horror film, we should have known that this "foreshadowing" was not good. (Note to self, if a place is empty when every other place is packed, there is probably a reason...) We sat out on the west patio and the somewhat hirsute bartender came out to take our order. We asked what kind of white wine he had (it was 100 degrees outside) and he answered, like a smart ass, "This isn't a wine bar! I have A white wine". So, we ordered THE white wine. The bartender came back with the two drinks and asked me if I wanted to start a tab, kinda like what you would hear in a college bar. I said, "No, I'll pay as we go." The total was $10, five bucks for each glass of house wine. I gave the bartender a $20 and he trundled off. Fast forward 10 minutes - the wine was just *awful*. I got up to use the bathroom and wished I hadn't. The place was dark, smelly, and "tagged" with endless grafitti. I wish I had brought a Sharpie or something. I went back out to the table and tried to drink some of the wine. Neither of us could, it was just too wretched. I noticed that the bartender still hadn't come back with my change so I told my wife that I would get it and then we'd go. As I approached the bartender, at first he acted like he couldn't see me. That was kind of hard because there was nobody else in the whole place. He finally said, "What can I help you with, buddy?" I told him that I never got my change. IMMEDIATELY after the words come out of my mouth he said, "You gave me a ten! I even showed it to that person over there!" (He pointed in the direction of somebody, maybe the janitor?) Now, I had just gone to the ATM beforehand and got out a hundred bucks. If you can show me an ATM that gives out anything but twenties, I'd like to see it. So no, I was not having a "senior" moment. The bartender was blatantly ripping me off for $10 bucks. Way to go, dude - sell your dignity, honor, and soul for a measly 10 clams. Moral of the story - take my word for it and go anywhere but Liquid. All the other places in BoDo pretty much rock. Liquid is the Baby Ruth bar in a swimming pool full of Perrier. read more

We visited Liquid on a cold winter's eve in order to enjoy a pre-theater cocktail in Bodo. Now, we had enjoyed some lovely cocktails this summer next door at Solid and because they are owned by the same company and are adjacent...well, I kinda thought the cocktails would live up to Solid's standards. Alas, no. Not even close. If an upscale lounge is what you were thinking when you saw their sleek little sign illuminated in Bodo...you will be bitterly disappointed. If, perhaps, you were hoping more for a downtown dance club experience--again, go elsewhere. If, however, you were more inclined to have a down and dirty dive bar experience--well, you're getting closer to the mark...but even then, I'd hit the Cactus (I simply have not found a better dive bar experience in Boise than the Cactus). This place did absolutely nothing for me. I did like the fountain at the entrance...but that's where the affection ends. Immediately, as I made my way across their particle board floor, I was bombarded with the very heavy smell of smoke (this...coming from a woman who actually digs the Cactus...yes, it was THAT bad). What was alarming about this is there were probably a total of maybe a dozen people in the joint and it's relatively large--I have no idea what was going on with their airflow that it was that smoky--but it's a problem. After, my eyes adjusted to the smoky din, I was startled by a 50-something-woman who began drunkenly shrieking "I won! I won!!!" What did she win, you ask? Apparently, a Christmas stocking (why this would be exciting mid-January, I have no idea) from their stuffed animal claw game "Koko's Big Adventure." Yes. You heard correctly. They have a stuffed animal claw game in a bar. And...people were playing it. As entertaining as this was to see--I don't think I ever need to see it again. Other than that, it was your usual dive bar ambiance of slightly greasy/dirty tables, Budweiser posters, and dim lights. We ordered our drinks. I ordered a Kahlua (again, it was cold...plus, a difficult drink to get wrong), which was fine. My fellow cocktailer ordered his usual whiskey sour, which was reportedly "wretched"...but, cheap...so that's something. As we left, Blink 182 was on the jukebox with drunk stocking lady grooving to it (which was somewhat impressive...I mean...Blink 182 isn't really dance friendly music) and the bartender had whipped out a black comb and was combing...wait for it....his beard. I usually go to Liquid Laughs to see Heath Harmison or Recycled Minds, (you should look at their calendars and go see them!) but I've been a couple other times as well. The trick to enjoying a comedy show there is to show up late enough so that you miss the first two comics because they have local amateur comics go up and fill time, sometimes for what seems like half an hour! And they're never funny! The tickets aren't that expensive ($10) but you would think that if they're charging money for the show that the comics should at least be professionals. A couple weeks ago I went to see Heath Harmison but one of the comics before him was so awful I had to leave. Heath is very popular in the Mormon community in Boise and his shows are fun because you know he's going to make you laugh and it's not going to be offensive. But last time they had a guy go up and do vulgar jokes about Mormons, including one where he talked about losing his virginity at a Mormon church. Now I'm not a Mormon (my wife is), but the fact that the club would put this guy on the show when the headliner's audience is Mormons was almost as offensive as the comic himself! I've gone to see Heath at the Egyptian downtown, and those shows have never had filthy unfunny comics like they have at Liquid Laughs. I don't know why he doesn't just do his shows there. At least the Egyptian makes sure the comics are funny before they go on stage! read more

So true made a joke about paying for the whole bottle as old crow is about $10 a bottle. So he got mad and kicked me out of the bar. 2 shots pays for the bottle is a 25 star hotel model! Let me just say, Liquid knows what's up, especially when it comes to the Happiest of all hours. Theirs stretches from 4 til 7, and features $2 drafts (anything my friends, not just the Idaho state bird, PBR), and $2 wells. Meaning, it pleases me, AND Manfriend, the ultimate beer snob. Why? Because Liquid also happens to know what's up with beer selection. $2 Guiness? Yes. I know. They have probably another dozen at least beers on tap for you to choose from, in case the "Meal in a glass" type beer isn't your thing. It also gets pretty packed on a weekend night, and they have decent live entertainment, almost every single night. And for the broke brainiacs, you can win bar tabs on Sunday night (and I want to say Thursday nights as well), during their weekly trivia sessions. Pretty intense, but hey, for free drinks, I'm down to rack my brain a bit. They also have an assortment of munchies, available til 1:00am... theres tons of stuff on the menu, but trust me, the nachos... you want the nachos. They are 10 bucks or so, but they will feed a small army... or, you and your drunk friends, for sure. Stiff cocktails AND good food... good time. I was here for Liquid Laughs on Saturday. It's a nice space and the show was excellent. Drinks, however, were disappointing and over-priced. The show was only $10 and the 2 drink minimum seemed reasonable but they took the "ice" in Long Island Ice Tea to heart. My two drinks would barely amount to one served with a normal amount of ice. My friend noted that her cosmo was very syrupy so apparently they cut corners one way or another. I'll come back for the laughs, but never just to drink. read more

Took on a good show with my wife here. We don't get out much so when we can we take advantage! We had just eaten at solid before so we didn't partake in any of the food, just beverages. Our drinks were never empty. They brought us water before we even had to ask, great service technique! My wife had a Margarita and I had an Irish mule. Both very tasty. I wish I could have gotten our cocktailer's name, but it's hard when they are busy and you're supposed to be quite. My wife wasn't a fan of the headliner, but you can't please everyone. I first learned about Liquid from a friend of a date who was familiar with their Liquid Laughs and Open Mic Night every Wednesday evening. Since my work days start at 6 every morning, I tend to avoid going out on weeknights, however I decided to check it out. The three of us stopped in for two consecutive Open Mic Nights and the shows were great and the service was excellent. The only reason we stopped going after a while was because my date's friend had a falling out with one of the comedians. Overall the place is great for groups looking for a night of stand-up comedy. My only complaints were about the overpriced drinks and the tabs. One way to avoid that is to pay as you go. I have not been here during the daytime, but hope to do so one of these lunch hours. read more

We have been here on several occasions now to catch some live bands. Not a big bar but in a decent location. Not in the stretch of bars on Main or Idaho St. but in the BoDo. It has karaoke, a couple of pool tables and decent beer prices. Wednesday nights is college nights so bring your college ID and get $1 PBR drafts. Otherwise $2 for PBR. When there's not live music, there's a jukebox. Only downside is you can't get money off your tab, you have to use the ATM. So make sure to bring some cash. Eat at Bonefish Grill or PF Changs then head on over here for some music. read more

We got service immediately which was unexpected since the COVID rules are a bit weird but it was so fast! My bartender, Michael, was so nice! I didn't really know what I wanted and he made me the absolute best drink ever!!! He helped me out with some stuff to make my night ever better and I can't thank him enough for it. I went here about 3 weeks ago on a Monday night for a comedy show. I showed up about 45 minutes early and was quickly seated. Shortly after that my waitress came over and gave me the info on drink specials and whatnot. By the time the show started at 8, it was fairly busy, but the staff was excellent! I ordered and waited about 15 minutes for my food, which I felt was totally reasonable. I closed out my tab early so I could enjoy the show. Throughout the show the wait staff was very busy with everyone ordering drinks, but were never a distraction and handled everything great! The food and drinks were good, the comedy show was great and some they're not normally open on a Monday night I was very appreciative of the staff. Thank you Liquid Lounge. My comedy club experience is limited to this place but I must say that Liquid sets a high bar for any other clubs I visit in the future. The wait staff is consistently pleasant and attentive. Comedians are excellent and well worth the 10-12 dollar entry. The pleasant, intimate atmosphere if this club leads to great audience participation. Word to the wise, don't sit in the front row, you will be picked on at the expense of the rest of the audience. My only critique would be the limited amount of dessert choices. Most people don't go here to eat during the show but a little nightcap with a solid selection of desserts would definitely enhance the experience. I love this place for a girls night or date night. I like to come for the late shows so you are almost guaranteed a better seat (or arrive early to the 8pm show). I hate that parking is usually a nightmare around 7:30 DT so plan to park in the garage or plan to walk if you want free parking. The service is absolutely hit or miss. Sometimes you get an attentive server and sometimes you are left without a drink for 15-20 mins. I would recommend grabbing food or an appetizer! The food is good (especially the chicken tenders).
