Sticky Rice with Mango-3/5 stars

Very tasty food with large portions. I was craving some solid Thai and they came through with the win. It's a large space with plenty of seating. Nothing over the top special about the decor, but it was clean and open. The staff were ok, service prompt and well priced entres.

Food, Ambiance, and service were excellent!!! It wasn't busy. Service was prompt. And I loved the music that they used.

Such a memorable experience!! I've heard great things about Bahn Thai and it surpassed my expectations! The star of the show was the tropical duck curry!! I would 100% get this again and recommend it to anyone. I'm looking forward to returning and trying some new dishes!

We love this place. We go almost weekly and never leave disappointed. After sampling almost everything on the menu, it's officially a hit!

As always: great food. We tried the sausage for the first time and liked it very much. The beef drunken noodles and the coconut rice with mango are amazing. The place is simple and nice. Very cordial staff.

This was an interesting experience. The soups and broths were delicious. However, the mussels were frozen and "fishy" didn't eat them. The curry chicken puff again delicious. But the "dumplings" were so oily they were not edible. So overall a 3. Will go back to try some more things bc the potential is here. The staff was friendly and atmosphere was casual and clean.

I'm always looking a good Thai restaurant wherever I go and moving to the Mount Laurel wasn't any different. Came across Bhan Thai (Mt. Laurel) on a Google search with decent reviews so I desired to give it a shot. First impressions were great and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was very calm and relaxing. The center pieces were also very nice and a perfect touch to the atmosphere. The customer service was on point as well. I went during dinner and was seated very quickly as it wasn't too busy. The waitress came by often to check up on me and was very tentative to all the tables in a timely manner as she was the only server from what it looked like. I ended up ordering the fried calamari as an appetizer followed by the pad Thai and Thai Iced Tea. All the food were very good portion and tasted amazing with the right amount of spice. I would recommend this spot to anyone in the area and would definitely go back to try other dishes soon.

Second time at Bhan Thai and enjoyed it as much as the first. The ravioli soup is my favorite. The broth is light yet flavorful and the ravioli are delicious. I also ordered the duck again. The only complaint is it is on the sweet side. Service is always good and the food comes out fast and hot. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable. Great place to go if you're in the mood for Thai food.

shrimp fried rice (4/13/23)

We ate outside on this gorgeous day because I had my pup with me. Kim had Panchero's and I ate here! I had a really good bowl of spicy shrimp fried rice. Great serving.! Four big and tasty shrimp, very yummy rice and a nice amount of vegetables (that I actually liked) that were cooked perfectly. Came with a small side salad. I'll be having that as part of tonight's dinner. Wish this were closer to me!

Green curry chicken with Jasmine Rice
Alisa W.

Another great meal! This place doesn't disappoint. This time I had the green curry chicken & jasmine rice. The flavors of the broth were simply delightful & it was the perfect amount of spice (not too hot). My favorite starter is always the vegetable spring rolls which were delicious as usual. Additionally I tried the Thai iced tea for the first time. It was as good as the reviews indicated. However, it is very sweet so I enjoyed it more as a dessert than with my meal. It was incredibly busy at noon on a Wednesday with a completely full dining room so service was a bit slower than normal but it's totally worth the wait.

Massaman curry with chicken

If you're looking for phenomenal authentic Thai food. This the place for you! All the dishes we had were so flavorful - we had chicken pad Thai , massaman curry with chicken , and when you go MAKE SURE YOU ORDER THE CRAB FRIED RICE- literally each bite was to die for!!! I wish I took pics of all the food- I have only a few.

A gem found by accident! Was in the same area and saw this…read moreplace. Decided to try for lunch. Atmosphere and service were exceptional. Had the spicy chicken fried rice, a friend had the chicken pan Thai and chicken soup. My dish was perfectly spiced and good amount of meat. The soup itself was a meal! Their pan Thai was very well done. The jasmine tea was heavenly. It was an enjoyable meal for the body and mind.

Not too sweet, coconut milk sauce is very mild, comforting, just enough richness. Sticky rice is chewy, soft. A whole mango, sliced thinly. Service is still great. What is not as great : Bhan Thai salad - it's just something you can throw together at home. Lettuce, cherry tomatoes, sliced apples, thinly sliced grilled chicken breast (very dry). Sauce is nothing special - vinegrette and soy sauce. I thought that given its name, they would do something jazzy with the salad. Honestly, it doesn't even taste as good as the free salad you get with ginger sauce. Pad Phrik King - superrr salty, even when eaten with white rice. I don't taste the kaffir lime leaves much. I was expecting something aromatic and well balanced. Instead it was very salty and oily Chiangmai sausage - very overwhelming when eaten by itself. They give you a few pieces of lettuce but not enough to counteract the sausage. I feel like this sausage belongs in an entree dish, not by itself as an appetizer. It needs something bland like rice or rice noodle, and some herbs, veggies, and citrus to balance out the saltiness. It has good kaffir lime and lemongrass flavor, but lacks sweetness and too much saltiness. It's also very pungent, so if you like light flavors, you will find this spicy (not hot spicy, but like - many spices) Overall it was a disappointing meal unfortunately. I am a fan of this place but not recently. Please tell us if you know any info why recently the flavors changed

I had a very crispy duck and my boyfriend had shrimp with lobster sauce. The only waitress is a bit short, but I like her. I live in Manhattan, so I am used to it. Visited Pan Asia in Lacey for the Monday all you can eat sushi, for $28.95. Nice concept, but…read morethere are some rules... and the sushi was just ok. It's a concept of all you can eat, soup, salad, 2 rolls of your choice, at one time, nigiri, and either ice cream or sherbert. We ordered an appetizer from the main menu, the rangoon, was good. Now lunch was from the special all you can eat menu Monday menu, which is different than the full restaurant menu. There are a couple of special rolls on there. I tried the shrimp tempura roll, which I've never seen shrimp tempura look like a fish stick style, no shrimp tail at all, very odd. The rolls were prepared larger in size, I guess to get you full, or to not get you to follow one of their rules. So you must eat all of the sushi even the rice, you can't eat out the middle, even if you don't like it, before you can be served another option of the all you can eat items. The waitress literally pointed which sushi my guest didn't eat, as they went to order another option. Mind you, both of our rolls came on one plate, as if we were sharing. We did not like the fatty tuna with scallions, it was dry and very fishy. The spicy tuna which most places serve minced was more whole pieces, very different. Different is good, when it's flavorful, but this was missing it's punch. The kami salad was layered which was nice, but too much spicy mayo for the ratio, ask for your sauce on the side so you can mix it, since you mix it yourself anyway. The cucumber came layered under the crab, and the sauce on top, I actually liked that. The teas and soups were good, Dragon roll was my favorite, it was the shrimp tempura and salmon mixed. Try for yourself. It was a cute experience with good chocolate ice cream.

For a few years, I've been curious about how the food was here at The Rose. Unfortunately, with no…read moretakeout available until fairly recently, I hadn't bothered to venture here. But with that said, my girl wanted some Indo Chinese.... so we made the trip here to see whether it's worth a second visit. Now, to be clear: the Rose is a Pan Asian Cuisine. So it's not necessarily just Indo Chinese, but it also encompasses flavors from all the other countries too. We ended up ordering 3 items in the following order: 1a: Gobi Manchurian 1b: Smoked Vegetable Sizzler 2: Mushroom Sautéed in Ginger Garlic We ordered the first two together and those arrived relatively quickly. The Gobi Manchurian was the better of the two, but I wonder if it was a bit too overpowered with spice and less of the sweet and sour taste (or even the soy sauce). The spice was a bit too overbearing. The sizzler was fine, but it was mostly onions and peppers. The tofu - while cooked fine - surprised me because it was like the silky ma po tofu (which coincidentally is what they serve here). In other words, the same tofu is repeated across multiple meals. I think the tofu needed to be pan fried at least for a sizzler. Because of the above, we didn't feel full and thought that the mushroom would provide a different taste pallet. Unfortunately, that was a miss as the mushroom had the same taste as the gobi manchurian, when it should've been infused with the ginger garlic. Additionally, the mushroom was way too overcooked so you couldn't even taste them either. It was like a crunchy mushroom. No good. To make things worse, the waiter, who also manned the front desk, seemed a bit too aloof at times. Often that meant not refilling water unless prompted and not providing the check on time or not even setting up the tables properly with silverware. It was a bit disappointing. This place has the potential, especially with the cute decor. But failed execution with the food and some lackluster service do not make this a place I'd recommend in the future.

We were seated very quickly, thankfully, and the ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and elevated. The menu looked fantastic at first glance so we were excited, and our expectations were exceeded. We shared the Veg Bao, Chili Paneer, Hakka Noodles, and Veg Manchurian with gravy (served with rice). All dishes were sooo so delicious - perfect level of spice, lots of garlic and onion flavor, huge portions. The parents were trying to figure out what to order, and asked our server for recommendations - he suggested something called the "Triple Schezuan" which was a combination of rice, noodles, spicy sauce, manchurian pieces, and more. They RAVED about this dish - the portion was also massive! Service was wonderfully attentive and best of all they don't use any cilantro in their food! Hallelujah! Highly recommend this underrated spot.

I come here for happy hour every now and then because the prices are really great, and both the food and drinks are delicious. We started with the specialty cocktail and the Thai Punch, and both were really good. They had fruity undertones, and the alcohol wasn't overpowering at all -- I could easily have a few of these. For food, we got a few orders of the kung pao chicken wings. They were perfectly crispy with a really flavorful glaze. The portion size was also very generous, especially for the happy hour price. These are a great example of Asian-style fried chicken wings done right. I definitely want to come back and try their full dinner menu since I've only been here for happy hour so far. Luckily, it's not too far from where I live in the city, so I'll definitely be back!

TLDR: mediocre food and dessert. You will be rushed out and treated like a nuisance. Go if you…read moredeliberately want a short basic, salty meal and don't mind feeling rushed. The details: This place is WAY overrated online. It's amazing what a little publicity can do for a place... Honestly, I wish I had something good to say about it, but all I can say is that a couple of the dishes (mushroom shumai and salmon skewers) were just "okay". The fried items (spicy chicken bao, cauliflower) were greasy and tasted half burnt; they were clearly fried in old grease, which leaves burnt crumbs on the batter and also doesn't drain from the food as well. The short rib dumplings were salty and the meat was overcooked and mushy. Besides the poor quality food, I strongly disliked that (at a regular table with a dinner reservation) they asked for a card up front to "open a tab". Really?? That seems so weird and tacky. Very few people "dine and dash", so what would be the reason behind this? It felt especially "interesting" given the diversity of the patrons, if you get my drift. I've never been to a restaurant that does that, unless you're at the bar. Speaking of the bar...FYI They only honor the happy hour menu at the bar. The last thing I'll say is this isn't a place where you can eat comfortably and relax socially. They are literally at your table every 5-10 mins trying to get you out. It's sort of "tapas" style but they don't allow you to finish a bite before they bring the next item. We felt like we had to rush to taste everything before it got cold. To top it off, we ordered the $56pp meal thing and the dessert was 4 tiny, tiny finger-sized ice cream cones. They brought them out without warning, so they were melting right away...again, forcing us to eat or lose out. And of course the waitress brought the check out shortly thereafter. When I made it clear that we wouldn't be rushed out, she kindly gave us more water. I questioned her about rushing us, and she said they "run a high volume model". Lol doesn't every restaurant want high volume (I.e., more money)? But at the expense of service? I guess they found the sweet spot of mediocrity and profit that keeps the doors open. Maybe 10 mins later, the manager came over and picked up drink glasses and asked us how things went (another "hurry up") signal. It was truly bizarre. Unfortunately, I didn't get to finish telling him how terrible the food was because he had a nose bleed and had to run off, and didn't return right away. We just left because it was no longer worth staying around somewhere that made it uncomfortable for us to have a leisurely dinner. I definitely would never go again. I didn't take any food pics because none of it was appealing enough to make me take my camera out, and again, we had to eat fast.
