Went to dinner last night, there were 4 of us. My friend asked for a glass of Pinot Noir. They didn't ask her which one she wanted, the $11 or the $17 glass. When the bill arrived it was the $17. This bottle of wine retails at the winery for $28 and Total Wine sells it for $21. I am in the wine industry so I made a Facebook post about it without mentioning the restaurant. Winemakers, owners and industry friends all thought that $17 was way too expensive for this glass of wine at a Sports Bar. Let alone they chose the most expensive one to serve. I just called the restaurant to let them know about this and spoke with the Manager Mike. He didn't really seem to care at all that we would not be returning. He told me that they pay $21 for that bottle of wine and I told him I didn't believe him. I find it odd that in this industry the customer sevice from the bartender and Manager would be so horrible. Again, 4 customers that won't be returning. That's a shame. read more

Had lunch here today with a couple friends, terrible food, they didn't have what I ordered that was listed on the menu, $13 for a half pour of a glass of wine, charged for "back of house" which means the chef, as an additional charge on our bill, burned and overly breaded onion rings that are charged at $3.50 extra instead of fries with a sandwich, hard and stale bread on the Petaluma BLT, will never go back. Whoever owns/runs this establishment should go incognito and "dine" there. read more

Came here to watch Game 6 of the Warriors-Kings match up. At first, I thought, I would never get my beverage. I was SO Wrong. Wait staff took our order and , BAM. Drinks arrived. Ordered food and BAM! Hunger satisfied. Sound up for the game and all is good. So, wait staff is great, but dood is average plus. I have been here only twice but I am coming back for more bloody Mary's for sure. Both times I went there I ordered bloody marry with the shrimps, and I am telling you, one of the best I tried here in Petaluma ( and I try bloody Mary's everywhere I go). This is so great that if you ordered few of these , you won't need to order food. Its filling!! Forgot to ask about the bartender name, wish I did because he makes it the same everytime. Overall, we absolutely love this place, especially considering the type of place it is. It's a sports bar, which we ordinarily are likely to avoid but my wife was introduced to it by colleagues and we were immediately hooked. Their food is almost always excellent and overall very consistent. Some of the things they do are simply outstanding, made with good, home-made ingredients and executed extremely well with great attention to detail. The chipotle chicken wrap, cobb salad wrap (a special but they'll make it for you anytime if you ask for it), and dirty bird sandwich are truly outstanding (all 5 stars). Ingredients are carefully balanced throughout. We're not huge fans of wraps in general, but they do such a great job on these, with the ingredients balanced, nicely chopped and mixed, and spread evenly so that one gets a nice bit of everything from first bite to last, instead of having a all the meat in one spot, for example. The hot pastrami sandwich and 49er burger melt are great (4.5 stars). The one dud we had was a tri-tip sandwhich special. The meat was tough and the sauce too thick and heavy, and it was not hot (2 stars). However that was the one bad experience and it was in June 2020. Their home-made ranch dressing for things like fries is excellent (5 stars). Caesar salad is great and their side salads which come with sandwiches are large and generous. Great sports bar. As usual my star rating is based upon how well this restaurant accomplishes what it sets out to do. BTG sets out to be a sports bar where locals gather for games and family meals. Mission accomplished. We watched the devastating Finals Game 6 here. Even though we were late, and had to sit in a back area, we had TVs we were able to watch without too much neck craning. Calamari was a great starter. Large slices of fresh calamari with a light breading that doesn't destroy diets. Served with tartar sauce & cocktail sauce . Both were great. Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc - there are so many great Sauvignon Blancs in Sonoma County. This one is serviceable, but could be greatly improved upon. Henhouse, Drake's, and 101 North on tap! Lobster salad sandwich-yummy! A simple lobster salad sandwich containing avocado and Swiss cheese. Basic, but not complaining. Sliced sourdough was perfectly toasted. Would order again. Snuck a fry (actually 3) off Colby's plate. Those suckers are delicious! read more

Service Fee, lol? Yeah you thought viewing your phone bill was complicated, see what restaurants are doing. The crisis is over, no reason why march 2023 there are "Service" fee's on the check that unless I am blind were not disclosed prior to ordering. Our favorite petaluma restaurants have NO service fee, in fact the first one we have seen is here. I prefer this place as opposed to downtown petaluma, so I might go back to catch a game once in a while. But, I will eat before getting there and maybe drink a little sumptin sumptin and pay less of a service fee. This was the 3rd time here. We went for breakfast the first time and lunch the last 2 times. First time since pandemic and it looks like they didn't lose their cooks. Today we went for lunch and the Giants were playing and WINNING! My husband had the 49er melt burger and fries, I had the French dip with onion rings. The onion rings I believe were beer batter dipped, FABULOUS! I was surprised by how fast the service was with a packed house and fans watching the game. I guess it was ment to be that Lagunitas is closed on Mondays. I pulled into Lagunitas to find out they are closed on Monday and Tuesdays. The nice gentleman that was there sent me to Beyond the Glory Sports bar and Grill. I was in need of a cold beer after I left the DMV. ( I know.......Ironic ) I came into the Sports bar looking to quench my thirst. Greeted immediately, I chose to sit at the bar. Not only do these guys serve beer, they have a full bar as well. SUPER SCORE ! I grabbed my Lagunitas and ordered off the menu. Their menu was huge with many options to choose from. I decided to go with a wrap, the Chipotle wrap in fact. It's a good thing I checked in on Yelp because if you do, you get a beer for $ 1. Yes, I got my 16oz Little Sumpin for one $ 1. That just makes me want to go back again and again! LOL Dan was the sweet guy behind the bar. He was super attentive to my needs and his game was o n point. This is a huge place with plenty of seating. These guys make it so easy to order online and pickup food. I tried their app, and it worked very well and was easy to use. I like that they give you all sorts of optional sides and sauces for your meals. I quite enjoy their onion rings and often get the Crispy chicken (buffalo style) salad. Although, I have to get the buffalo sauce on the side. It's a bit spicy for me, so need to add it in small doses! Their lobster bisque soup is very good, and I'm not a real big lobster fan. I tried the French dip and found it to be nice. Had a good garlic flavor and nice amount of au jus. Im going to see if they can add grilled onions next time I get it. I've eaten there during COVID... they have safe outdoor seating with appropriately social distanced seating. The staff do a great job that I can see for operating in a safe manner. BTG has been around for a long time and its had its share of success and epic failure, but the new owners are doing a great job, they brought back the local.schos.supporting BTG that we all remember and appreciate since it was originally opened by Jim and his partners. We go once or twice a month and the food is consistently good and its a great place to watch a game and grab a drink. My go to item is their Club Sando and Garlic fries, its always consistently great! They quarter the club with i really like, the turkey has got great flavor and the veggies are always fresh, the bacon taste fresh cooked too and thata a big deal if your getting Club Sando! The owners are great and seem to have the staff well trained and its fun to walk in and see old friends that we haven't seen in awhile. Make sure to call them direct and order, our locally owned restaurants are SO important to us all and with all the fund raising BTG has done over the years they deserve our full support! If you use a 3rd party delivery service like Grubhub, Doordash or Uber Eats PLEASE STOP! these companies charge the restaurant up to 30% of the price of the order AND they charge YOU a delivery fee too. Truly a pub food location. My husband likes coming here to watch sports game with his buddy. The service and employees are friendly. Bartender will recommend drinks if you are unsure; thought that was nice of them. Food is like any other pub place. Aside from the artichoke dip I would recommend this place. I had in mind that the artichoke would be chopped smaller, but they come out a bit chunky. However, that is just my preference. Others may like it just as it is served. read more

I've been repeatedly impressed with Beyond the Glory this year. After they reopened the community seemed skeptical; don't be. Their menu has variety and it certainly delivers. From lemon roasted chicken and vegetables with polenta (to die for) to any pub snack you would ever need, it's just good food. The staff is quick, friendly and casual with you which is exactly what you need at a sports bar. The happy hour has a long list and they even offer the items for a late night menu on Friday evenings. What blew me away was the lobster salad sandwich! Packed with meat, perfectly cooked and only $14. Can't beat it. We started the meal with spinach and artichoke dip.. so decadent. My husband and I decided to drop in for a quick bite and we're glad we did. Even though neither of us are big sports fans, the number of tvs was great. You could watch several different events without straining. The menu does lean heavily to fried food, like any sports bar, but we had lobster sandwiches and they were scrumptious. I don't know about the rest of the food, but what we had was excellent. People are friendly here. We chatted with some ladies from the next table who were watching a game and cheering. So disappointed. We have been here many times. Today we sat at the bar. They were very busy which is great to see. My husband order the wings extra crispy as usual. He took a bite of his second wi g and it was pink and clearly not fully cooked. Staff member said "I do t really eat with ga but think this is normal." Instead of offering a new order she told him to eat another one. What the heck? The other staff person who came by awhile later asked how they were and my husband told her his concern...she offered to do a fresh order but by that time we were ready to go. They are happy to modify meals for dietary reasons. In the past this restaurant offered free sodas to a group of neighbors advocating for better walking/sidewalks on McDowell, which was really thoughtful of them. read more

I like BTG, and have many fun times there watching sports with friends. I went to the soft opening and had the veggie burger. I would compare it to the veggie burger Beyond Meat makes, where it looks, tastes and smells like a real burger, but isn't. If you're a hardcore vegetarian, ya probably already know what I'm talking about. Anyways, it was delicious. There are very limited vegetarian options here, but I'm happy with 1 or 2 good ones. I returned with some friends after they'd officially opened back up. When I asked for the veggie burger, the waitress told me the veggie burger they have was often mistook for being real, but not to worry, it's vegetarian. I agreed and told her I knew what it was like, and I wanted it. To my dismay, I was brought out one of those nasty dry corn bean patties that the industry first introduced as a veggie "burger" way back when. I asked the man who brought it out where the other veggie burger was. He was totally confused. I got the waitress back and she too was confused why I had the dry corn burger. She asked the kitchen staff where the other burger was, and learned it had been discontinued. Where is the communication with staff here? Why discontinued? I was told maybe it was just too confusing when people got their real looking veggie burger, so they got rid of it. Really? How about you train your whole staff to inform people to let the customer know ahead so they can decide. It's fucking delicious, and that's a very silly reason to discontinue it if that's true. I suspect though, it had to do with cost, because no vegetarian I know wants that dry bean crap over the other tasty one. Bring back the good veggie burger, and throw in a few more veggie options please (it's 2019, it's California, veggies spend money, too, there's many good reasons!), and my stars go up! :) Thanks! read more

I had not been here in several years, used to be a favorite spot especially on football Sunday's. When we walked in we waited for a good 3-5 minutes. It became obvious very quickly there was only 1 server and he was doing everything. He cleaned off a table for us outside. I asked Russell if he was the only server to which he replied yes and that the busser had called in sick. I want to commend him as he worked the entire bar room and the outside patio. He was working hard and running around yet still very polite and smiling. The food was good as I remembered. These days it's hard to find good help and I hope the owners see that in Russell. Went today (12/22/2018) and was hoping that BTG would be vastly improved since the shutdown and recent startup. No luck there, still 3 stars for being a mediocre run of the mill sports bar. Food still good and better than most, and no complaints about the service (Keela did a good job) but it seems like the new owners just slid into the spot but did not change a thing to save on cost. I swear, the menus are the same, as well as the name. It is still noisy, cavernous, chilly, sterile and way too many TVs. There were four within view of our table and featured 3 different games. Our BLTs were constructed by amateur cooks and while tasty fell apart instantly and so we ate them with a fork We eat out almost every night and I am afraid BTG is still on the back burner for us. I am really enjoying the newly reopened Beyond The Glory restaurant. The new owners are great, the food was fabulous and the vibe is great too. I have been to Beyond The Glory twice in the last week. Both times, my food was delicious, and the service was great too. I had the hummus wrap with sweet potato fries, which was delicious. Hubby had the burger and fries and loved it. Our friends all loved their dishes too. I've heard the garlic fries are amazing. They have daily specials that look so nummy. I recommend that you sit at the bar and let Jessica make you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit. I have been to BTG twice now, and both times I have had solid, positive experiences. Service is quick, attentive and genuine. Kaela was excellent to us and had some great recommendations. Food is enjoyable, from what I've ordered. The lobster penne was out of this world. Such a delicious and unique menu item! Fresh and tasty. The hot and spicy wings were also to die for. Great flavor with a balance of hot, but not too hot. Loved it. This is a perfect place to catch any big sports games. Unfortunately, both times I have gone the Warriors have lost :( However, there are screens surrounding all perimeters and it is a fun atmosphere to watch sports.
