When I had my initial appointment the receptionist and doctor were nice and worked with me when I needed to try multiple contact lenses. But when I tried to renew my contact lenses they rejected it since it's been over a year since I've had an exam. Now that is my fault. But, when I called to ask when my last exam was the receptionist was rude. Maybe she was busy. But all I wanted to know is when my last appointment was so I could make another one. *The average review is only because of how I was treated recently when I wanted to find out when my last exam was so I could make sure insurance would cover the exam. read more

Normally, I prefer to find and pay for the cheapest deals that I can find, however as I get older and wiser, I realize the difference between a cheap good deal and quality care and getting what you pay for. Dr. Arakani is a fantastic example of that. He is extremely professional, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable. The office was very clean, well-decorated and modern in looks and updated technology. From the first phone call in making my appointment all the way to the end of my exam, then placing an order for a new pair of glasses, I felt important and that he cared for me and the well-being of my eyesight. We talked about glasses end contacts and he was very helpful! He was even honest about certain recommendations, which made me feel very comfortable that he wasn't here just to sell me on stuff. I lost my job and didn't have vision insurance at this time and he really helped me with a cash price as well as a great bundled deal for frames & lenses. My appt was at 2pm in the afternoon and I was the only there. I was promised 2-3 days to receive my glasses back, but got a call that they were ready the very next morning so I was very pleased with their turnaround times. I stumbled across Dr. Frimtzis' office on accident. I lost my only pair of glasses at the beach the previous day and was looking for a big box optometrist office when I made a wrong turn. It was a Saturday and when I walked into the office they were closing shop. Dr. Frimtzis reopened and turned on all of the testing equipment without a shrug. I didn't even have an appointment! He was very thorough and did not rush through the exam. He discussed nutrition and how certain carotenoid alcohols and antioxidants play a role in maintaining optimal eye health. I always appreciate a holistic approach! He even helped me pick out my frames, folks! His office is clean and orderly. His staff is very friendly and his office features a nice selection of frames for men, women and children. I am so thankful for his care and patience and even though there is an optometrist office right up the street from where I live, he can count on seeing my face next year for my yearly exam. No bad eye strain or headaches especially after a new set of glasses. I also like how he takes time to explain things in a personable way. My normal eye dr is Dr. sit @ Escondido Optometrix. I called the end of MAY to get an appointment and they couldn't get me in until the middle of JULY. BULLSHIT ? So I found dr Bruce on yelp actually , called and they could get me in that day (Friday) or tomorrow. Optometrist open on a Saturday ??? HELL YEAH. I took the Saturday appointment, and then Saturday rolls around, I get there. I literally almost walked out of this place because the front desk lady is so rude her attitude is just.. ugh. I didn't want to talk to her anymore. Luckily right before I walked out, Dr. Bruce came and got me and took me back. I was a new patient so we did all the exams and such. I have astigmatism that I haven't ever really understood. After seeing Dr. Bruce I could teach people about my astigmatism like the back of my hand. He will explain anything to you, Answer any questions you have, he even helped pick out my frames! :) which was awesome because I couldn't see without my normal lenses so I needed assistance. He has appointments that you don't need to book months ahead of time, he's informative and helpful. AND I FREAKING LOVE MY GLASSES &SUNGLASSSES . I issued 2 stars because the doctor was cooperative and very apologetic when I went in to pull our file and explained why. It was so easy to make an appointment (not have to wait for months like other places) and they took the time to confirm insurance and coverages well before my arrival. Dr Frimtzis described everything before he did any tests and was very thorough even though there was another patient waiting. He didn't rush me through at all. The assistant, her name escapes me, is sweet as they come. She helped pick out frames that looked great and gave her honest opinion. My view was a bit off since my pupils were dilated. Don't bother going anywhere else for your prescription. Dr. Frimtzis truly puts you through those test machines to get it right. I moved here two years ago and didn't know where to go, so I looked at the reviews and made my appointment.My first impression when I arrived - Dr. Frimtzis was helping a man who was disabled and could hardly talk. He even picked out his glasses for him. I thought what a kind person. Then, it was my turn. No kindness lol. Oh maybe it was me. I don't like taking all those test for my prescription. But once he got it, he wrote it down, threw the pen on the table and said in a conquering voice, "That is your prescription!!" Then it was time to pick a frame. I looked at about 10 of them and he says, "No not those, what about these?" at which point I called him BOSSY and tried them on. Beautiful I loved them-Cole Haan of course. At the end of the appointment we had come to an understanding of each other. Seniors (I am a senior) don't let anyone else fill your prescription and let him help pick out your frame. Young people save your eyes and get your prescription here. Its a small place. Which is great because you get the Doctors attention and patience. Love my glasses. Best glasses I have ever had. I have never been able to see out of my left eye this great - ever. I put them on and I didn't even need to get used to them. Everything-clear. Extraordinary!! read more
