Very disappointing experience and serious concerns about my prescription This was my first time visiting this location, as I normally go to the Auto Parkway location. I initially came in because I wanted prescription lenses for my sunglasses and was told that my prescription had expired, so I would need to have a new eye exam. The staff was great when I first came in, but unfortunately, my experience during the actual eye exam was very concerning. The doctor began the exam and would change the lenses and ask how they looked but before I could even respond, he would say, "Looks the same, right?" and immediately move on to the next lens. I have never experienced an eye exam being conducted this way and felt very rushed but I trusted the doctor and went along with the exam. I was given a new prescription and was told that it was slightly different. I was told that the astigmatism in my right eye was now "gone" and that I would need a different prescription for my sunglasses which I thought was weird because I've had the same prescription for like 10 years but I trusted the doctor and agreed to have the sunglasses made with the new prescription. A few days later I picked up my sunglasses and tried them on, the difference was insane I could barely see clearly and couldn't even read a sign that was less than five feet away from me. I told the employee that the glasses seemed off and that I couldn't see properly and I was told that it would take some time to get used to them because sunglasses can feel different from regular glasses so once again, I trusted what I was being told and took the glasses home. Over the next couple of weeks, I experienced severe migraines and felt sick every time I wore them. I even wore them on a road trip from San Diego to Salt Lake City and was miserable for much of the drive but I thought I just needed more time to adjust and that I just had to deal with it. I ended up going back with the intention of returning the lenses because of what was going on and was told that my prescription had changed from 0.75 to 1.75, which is more than double. The guy told me that the doctor that did my exam wasn't the normal doctor and to come back and be seen by someone else. I asked if I should just return them and he said it would be hard because I had used insurance so at that point I decided to return to the location I normally visit. They immediately became concerned about what I was experiencing and without me even having to ask, offered to remake my sunglasses using my previous prescription at no additional cost. My biggest concern isn't even the inconvenience or the money it's the potential safety issue. I couldn't see properly through these glasses, and wore them while driving on a long road trip. What if something had happened because I couldn't see clearly? That could have resulted in a much more serious situation. I hope management takes this experience seriously and looks into how this exam was performed and how customers are advised when they report that they cannot see properly with a new prescription. Customers should be able to trust that their vision, safety, and concerns are being taken seriously. read more

Another great experience at LensCrafters!!!! Was due for a new pair of glasses and of course matching prescription sunglasses. I had been searching online to see what they have. Found so many pairs that I loved so was hopeful they were in the store. Came in on Monday afternoon, 04/07/2025. The store was clean and well stocked with a wide range of glasses/designer glasses. We were immediately greeted by Katie. She was so wonderful and helpful! She made my experience so pleasant! Showed her my choices, she fitted me for each pair and we were done. Absolutely terrible experience. I purchased Prada eyeglasses from this location, and in less than a year the lenses started crackling and clouding. A product sold as premium should not fall apart that quickly. When I returned to the store, the response was rude and unhelpful because I had not bought their warranty. Rather than stand behind what they sold, they used the lack of a warranty as an excuse to do nothing. Apparently, paying a high price for the glasses is not enough -- they expect you to pay extra if you want them to care. The quality was disappointing, but the customer service was worse. I will not return, and I would strongly warn others to think twice before buying from this location. Keep looking for other options. Save your money and shop somewhere that stands behind its products. Luxury prices mean nothing when the quality and service are this poor. read more

Recently went here because they have an awesome price for an eye exam even if you don't have insurance. The appointment was super quick and easy and all the equipment they have access to make the process extremely efficient. But Luke in the showroom was the highlight. He made shopping for my glasses a surprisingly enjoyable experience. I hate trying to decide on new frames and usually am nervous to ask for any help because I can be so picky and indecisive but Luke was incredibly patient and helpful. He took my preferences seriously and helped me to find the best fitting pair or regular glasses as well as sunglasses. I wasn't planning on getting any eyewear after my exam and ended up getting both because they fit so well! Definitely worth checking this place out for an exam or glasses. Mom had the best eye experience of her life! Katie was so kind and treated mom like family. She helped mom pick out every specification on the glasses. She was patient and explained everything including pricing options for going through insurance and their promotions. Mom said the eye exam had much better technology than other places she had been, including eye imaging and choosing prescriptions. My husband and I had the eye exam with Diane Truong, OD (managing optometrist) at the LensCrafters, the Escondido Mall location. She was lazy, negligent, and irresponsible. She rushed both of us through the whole process as if the building was on fire only so she could grab her donut and coffee and walk around doing nothing. When I told to her that I cannot even focus when she gives a split of a second per slide, she rudely ignored me saying, "Just Guess" (seriously guessing game, not the eye exam?) and didn't slow down. The test was not accurate, of course, and I could not wear the glasses and had to return them. My husband decided to see if he could get used to the glasses and didn't return them right away and now is stuck with something he cannot wear as well as his test was not accurate also. Total waste of our time and lots of money. The equipment was dirty. The assistant wiped quickly the equipment leaving a film of brown foundation from a previous female customer on the machine without even noticing it. Five stars to Luke who ordered glasses. He tried his best but not much you can do when your optometrist does NOT do a good job. . read more

They double booked me and I wasn't seen till 20 plus minutes after my scheduled time. they did not apologize, and just gave the excuse that I did not confirm. Which I did and showed proof off. I'm very disappointed that they couldn't at least apologize. I was very polite to the staff, but I didn't feel like my time was respected. Double booking confirmed appointments is messed up. usually the staff is caring, but this double booking thing is wrong. If you go here your appointments may be double booked even if you confirm, and you'll loose time from your day. read more

BEWARE OF WHAT THEY ARE CHARGING YOU The doctor was great and the staff were nice. But they charged me BEFORE my exam for a retinal scan I didn't want. Other locations have me pay at the end and ask me if I want to add the retinal scan on. They didn't do that here they just had me pay for the scan upfront but said the $40 was for my exam. I ended up paying $40 for something I didn't want without any clarification at all. The word retinal scan were not mentioned when I paid before the appt. Then, they had me sign a paper before my exam even happened saying I received my prescription after the exam. The doctor told me I should try dailies when I was happy with my bi-weeklies. I left without my prescription because I was going to try the dailies for a week. It felt off to me b/c the staff said the law now makes them hand us our script bc there have been places holding scripts hostage so they buy from that location. I went back and got my prescription which they had me sign. Right before I signed, I saw they had put the expiration date for August 2025 for glasses and 2024 (this past August) for contacts. Thank god I read it because they went and fixed it for November 2025 and 2026. Overall, it felt dishonest and shady. Especially since I was charged for a service I didn't want and misled about what it was for. As a lawyer, I was shocked by this and it felt very deceptive. Please make them show you a breakdown before you agree to or sign anything. I've never left a place feeling so uneasy. read more

Not the first time this has happened to me, but this time was particularly upsetting. Show up 40 minutes early for an appointment at the location on West Valley Parkway for them to tell me that I didn't confirm so they canceled it. I said my wife called back to confirm the guy at the counter wants to tell me Pretty much that I'm a liar and nobody confirmed. Then suggest that I wait 45 minutes to see if the next appointment doesn't show up... Why wouldn't they show up if they confirmed? I guess that's why it's so important that we confirm? So trying to wonder why my appointment could be canceled if I confirmed... Oh wait, I didn't says the man at the counter. My wife and I have been going to this location for 15 years, several children through here as well mostly for convenience ..Unfortunately, that ends today... They are SO rude if you aren't a customer! I called asking if they could make a pair of glasses for a patient next day as it was urgent, and gave them the prescription. She proceeds to tell me there's no one who can check for me. Tells me to call back when they aren't busy, I'm thinking how will I know you guys aren't busy.... Can you just call me instead? She proceeds to hang up on me. I call back within another 10 minutes and Jenny answered and was rude to me as well. Seemed very short and annoyed I was asking if they can make glasses in their store for a potential client who would be going to THEM for purchase. What a sweet lady. Very personable, extremely helpful in helping me find a beautiful frame that fit my look at my personality. She has a gift. I stopped in without any appointment, do as I say not as I do, however the staff was able to help me out. I've been using LensCrafters for my optical needs for about 18 years now. This was my first visit to this location. They quickly pulled up my profile, found my prescription, did the insurance pre-authorization, set up my appointment for a doc visit and helped me pick out my new glasses. I went to LensCrafters to get some glasses and I specifically told them the amount that I wanted that my insurance covered so turns out I end up paying an extra $110 because they didn't tell me a couple of the exams were costly. Went in for an eye exam on 12/27/2021 and to purchase some updated prescription lenses for some of my frames. Only to later realize that I had been double-charged to the amount of nearly $1,400. I have placed MULTIPLE calls and have left messages with staff for management at this location on 12/27-12/28-1/1-1/2-1/3 all with the response of "We left a note for him and he will call you back." and still nothing. Yesterday my wife went in for a standard eye exam to refill her contact lens prescription. Where do I start? I weep for the future generation. If their IQ need only be one point higher than the #2 pencil they are filling out the application with, maybe you should get your eyes checked somewhere else. First, the appointment is 30 minutes late due to the office. The assistant cannot find her supervisor. They invite her to sit down, then ask her to move to the back since they need the chair for a client. They try to run a test that costs an additional $40 that is not relevant to the customer's needs at the moment. To negate that $40 test, my wife has to sign a release form after they had asked her to remove her contacts. "Don't you have glasses? Where are they?" the assistant asks, failing to remember that she came in with contacts. After that, the exam with the doctor was fine. Upon arriving at the desk to pay, the assistant finished charging for the exam, but had to be reminded that my wife was there to get contacts and could she please purchase some today? When the receipt arrived, it had the $40 charge for the exam she had refused and signed the release form for. Unbelievable. My wife had to ask to have it removed from the bill. To close, I would like to remind the reader that the doctor was top notch, but her next examination should be the staff she hired. read more

This was the second-worst customer service experience of my life. The salespeople told me they were covered under my insurance, but didn't mention they were out of network, which was important once they botched my glasses. I had progressive scan lenses made, and I have astigmatism. After two days of wearing the glasses, I noticed my vision was blurry in the near area of the left eye. I went to have it corrected, which turned into a month-long ordeal of repeatedly returning, where they were always dismissive of my problems and acted like they were doing me a favor by trying to fix it. After a month of making adjustments and fabricating a second pair of lenses, they told me the glasses were perfect and maybe I just don't adjust to progressive scan. They implied I was imagining the problems. I went to Invision Opotometry, where they were able to make glasses that work. They inspected the glasses from LensCrafters and found that the axial tilt was 8 degrees out alignment. But, my insurance expired while I was working with LensCrafters to try and fix the issue. The insurance would have paid for a new pair if LensCrafters were in network, but since they're out of network the insurance couldn't do anything. LensCrafters is willing to pay me back my copayment for the glasses they botched, but I'm out more than double that in what I had to pay for the replacement glasses. Lesson learned; stick to legitimate optometrists and stay away from LensCrafters. Edit: LensCrafters has responded, asking me to fill out a customer care form. But, I've already gone through that process and the only response I got was to go back to the store. Whoever was handling the form was completely disinterested in providing any assistance beyond what the store gave. It turned into a game passing the buck from store to corporate and back to store. read more

I walked in with my mom to have adjustments made on our eyewear. We were both helped immediately by different clerks. The clerk who helped me immediately warned me that if any damage happened while she was adjusting my glasses, Lenscrafters was not responsible. She made the adjustments and handed my sunglasses back without cleaning them or making the offer to clean them. The woman helping my mother kept an annoyed expression on her face the entire time she fixed my mom's glasses. My mom wanted to change her nose pads on her transitions lenses. The clerk told my mom that the lab did not have the different nose pads and she couldn't say when the next order would be in. I was disappointed with the rude treatment and the unfriendly staff. I will not be coming back to this Lenscrafters. read more

I took my mom into the North County Fair mall store because she'd fallen and broken her glasses. The assistant manager, Lori Erro, kindly took my mom's glasses back to the lab and tried to fix them. While they weren't perfect, the glasses were wearable again. My mom was impressed with all of the frames this store carried. If only I could leave it at no stars. This review is in regards to a employee named Tammy. I have worked in the medical field for over 20 years and have never treated a client the way I was treated. I also never leave reviews because everyone has a bad day. This employee was on a level I have never experienced in my lifetime. Rude and disrespectful along with dismissive is a accurate description of the manager. Never asked to speak to a manager just showed up for my appointment. Unfortunately I got the only one standing around doing nothing. Black pant suit approaches and asked my reason for being there. My glasses were made and the lenses were set wrong and gave me double vision. I had them fixed the previous week and had a appointment scheduled to see the doctor. I still can't see and this all started last March! Tammy Informs me that my appointment is over and went along less then 6 feet away to "help" someone else. Not "help" just taking there money. This is the place where you can go and try glasses non stop with no questions asked. That is why I like this store so much. No one is pushy or trying to sell you anything. They of course will ask you if you need assistance, but I feel very comfortable just going there trying out stuff and then maybe shopping at another store (due to price or other reason). I have got several pair of glasses in previous years, Chanel and Miu-Miu, that I still wear. They were on super sale, and I am very happy I got those there and they customized the lenses the way I wanted and needed. Overall, great variety, nice people, no one bothers you, try and take pictures of the glasses you want and compare with other stores. Only at Costco I have seen similar freedom. read more

If you need their advertised 1-hour glasses, forget it. I lost my eyeglasses late yesterday after and went in. They already had my valid prescription. I walked through the whole process of selecting frames, lenses, the measurements and all. I asked if it would be possible to pick them up before they closed and the tech/sales person said, "I'm sorry, but it'll be at least a week." Apparently their lab is down for repair. When I asked if I could bring the frames and everything over to the Auto Parkway location, they said, "No, their lab is down, too, but for a different reason." Nearest location? UTC.
