Okay, first off, we need these in San Diego! One of the best sandwiches I have ever had. I had the Reuben and it was the perfect combination of meat, sauerkraut and sauce. The rye bread was robust and held up to the fixings. Delicious! Staff were super friendly and helpful, you get chips (also divine kettle chips!) for FREE. As it should be so that adds to the awesomeness. I only drink water and they gave us good sized cups, which I appreciate. So often the water cups are really mingy tiny. I get that the don't want you drinking soda, but I don't ask for a water cup to mooch soda with. Lots of room between tables. You can drink draft beer and wine, which is nice. Please please put in a location up in the Mesa,Gilbert or Chandler area. There is not enough pie up here. And none of the ones compare . I'm still going to go here (lol) but I called in a phone order, she didn't read it back to confirm she got it right, I picked up the order, realized it was missing an item. Looked around and every open table in the place was dirty. Went to the counter to get a towel to wipe off the table and was asked which one. ALL of THEM. Manager was the same. I love the food at Beyond Bread, and the variety they have. I always have pretty good service and the cashiers are nice. I took away the stars because I order food to go often or I call it in before and it always takes FOREVER. I came in Thursday a little before 5 to order two (cold) sandwiches and a cup of soup. The cashier told me they might be out of the chicken tortilla soup that I ordered so he had to check with the kitchen. He came back and said they just made some fresh (yay!). I paid and took a seat to wait for my food. It took 15 minutes and the place was not even remotely busy. It should've taken 5 minutes - tops. When my order was finally ready an employee apologized for the wait and I went home. To make matters worse the soup (which I've had many times before) was absolutely gross. It was completely watered down and had zero flavor. I was ticked. I decided to call the manager & let him know about my frustrations and that the soup was tasteless. The manager was very nice on the phone and took my name and order down. He told me he was going to put the money back on my card and apologized for the inconvenience. Only problem is it has been two days and the money was never transferred back to my card. Don't say things if you won't follow through. read more

We have loved Beyond Bread since they first opened on Campbell, even adjusting our business hours in order to get there before they used to close at 6 pm. The sandwiches are usually delicious, and the service is fine. We went a few days ago and when my husband paid, it seems that there was no longer an option not to tip. As a former server for many years, we are usually good tippers when it comes to sit-down service at restaurants. Our issue is when you are asked to tip when no one really waits on you, just takes your order and someone else delivers it. We like to have the option to leave a cash tip at the table if someone goes out of their way to take care of us - checking on food, bringing to go containers, etc. We frequently do add a tip when checking out if the cashier is super friendly and helpful, but we prefer to have the option of not leaving a tip. Maybe there was a "no tip" option, but it was not clear to my husband. Sometimes we feel intimidated with the seeming pressure to tip before we even know if the "service" was good, or the food. Many times I have tipped at my coffee shop, only to receive less than great coffee. These days workers are paid over minimum wage (at my sister's restaurant in California they had to offer $30 per hour to attract people for table bussing jobs), and I made much less than minimum wage when waiting tables, since tips usually more than made up the difference. Great little sandwich and bakery place that is worth trying. They have a friendly staff and a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from. I recommend the roast beef and green Chile sandwich, just ask for a side of horse radish as this reallly kicks the sandwich into a new level of deliciousness. Bread! I love it and it loves me! We were on a road trip and stopped by the bakery to grab some lunch. The bread selection was amazing and the atmosphere was spacious and inviting. Ordered the chicken and bacon sandwich and wasn't super impressed. It was good but I probably wouldn't order it again. My boyfriend ordered the Reuben on pretzel which was the special of the day. He was raving about it so I had a bite! It was delicious! Melt in your mouth sandwich! We also got a pumpkin cranberry bundt cake for a friend, rustic EPI baguette, which was harder on the outside but the inside was soft with grains. I also got the pumpkin spice latte and it was yummy! The saving grace of the shwerma pita (I have had it many times with no complaints) is that ishad a decent salad and veggies on the bread. The actual shwerma was horrible! It tasted like it was rolled in salt. I took one bite and immediately scraped all of the shwerma off the flatbread. Just to make sure I wasn't losing my taste, I gave a bit to my friend. I've been eyeing this place since we moved to Tucson in October and finally got the chance to stop by. We arrived quarter to 11 and the place was pretty busy. It was our first time here but they have made it easy with menus by the entrance. Therefore, it was easy to look through and know what you want to order. Once you are ready, you can walk up to the counter, place your order, and then find a table to sit. They will bring out your food once it's ready. The process is easy and pretty quick. We ordered soup of the day which is potatoes and bacons, Pauly's Pesto, and Gino's grinder sandwiches. The paulys pesto have fresh lean chicken breast which I thought it might be dry, but it was moist and soft. Both sandwiches was tasty and delicious, however; the bread on the Paulys pesto is to die for, it's soft with a little crunch on the skin, so delicious. I can eat the bread alone with butter lol Lastly, please please do not order individual food and share because the sandwich is huge and they cut it into two. We didn't know and had too much left over. I'm a little sad knowing that they taste better fresh than soggy. Overall, the service was fast and they have wraps and bags for you to pack your left over at the utensils station. I'd definitely go back and recommend it to others. read more

This is a Tucson local so I'm already loving it. They recently remodeled...but it still pretty much looks the same inside, a few subtle difference. The food is still great and make sure to save room for dessert. I love the "Gobble Me Up" salad. It's kind of like thanksgiving in a salad. I also love the Bart's Bag sandwich. I always try to change the bread on any sandwich I order to the Focaccia bread. Sometimes the bread for some of the sandwiches is rock hard so if that's not your thing, just swap out the bread choice. The tiramisu and the fruit tart are great, but so are most of their desserts! Of the many sandwich places in Tucson, this is one of my top three (it's beat out by Cheba Hut and Bisonwitches).
