It's like they've never heard of salt or seasoning or anything resembling flavor. Overpriced and overhyped.

Great sandwiches that are huge! Enough for two meals. A huge menu, too. I had a hard time choosing from among so many delicious and healthy (and some decadent) options. And terrific customer service. read more

Love this place! Every meal I get is good til the last bite. I enjoy the atmosphere! So relaxed and comfortable. Feels like a home cooked meal at home with all your friends. read more

If you want the best tasting, most delicate, flaky and desirable pastry, get Beyond Bread's unique "Kouign-amann". Prounced 'queen-amon'. I get the plain vs. one with fruit. It has a delicate sweetness, flaky, and I challenge you not to get two! Never have I had such a treat. read more

I have been going to Beyond Bread my whole life. The bread is fabulous and I always have a positive experience. I'd definitely recommend Friday's and Saturday's sandwiches of the day, as well as the focaccia wheel, rustic loaf, and various pastries. The only reason I've decided to finally share a review is because I had such a wonderful experience with one of the staff members there. A member of the front of the house staff, I believe her name is Alex, went above and beyond! She gave me some great recommendations and successfully managed a really confusing order. I'll go back to this location for more incredible service! read more

Every time I come here, I will try to eat something different, but for some reason I'll end up choosing my go-to sandwich - Brad's Beef! Why? It has lots of layers of meaty hot Angus roasted beef, melted provolone cheese, and green chile (not spicy). Trust me - you can never go wrong with this hot sandwich! read more

Generally love everything I have ever ordered. Today I decided to try the Sunday special soup--chicken with dumplings. Tasted great. In a large bowl, however, the serving only contained 2dumplings and one chunk of chicken ( with a few shreds of chicken throughout). Wondering if that meets Beyond Bread's standard serving requirements. Or if servers might need better instructions when they ladle the soup into the containers? read more

Great lunch spot. Huge menu selection ranging from a variety of sandwiches, salads, and fresh baked goods. I had the 'gobble me up' salad...wonderful! Huge portion with fresh greens, fresh shaved turkey, nuts, cranberries, etc. I recommend swapping the ranch for their vinaigrette. Comes with two slices of their warm fresh baked bread. read more

The staff and food are great. i prefer going to this BB compared to the East Speedway location. Much more pleasant staff! Always friendly and smiling! read more

I think this place is okay. The sandwich was okay. The soup was okay. The pasta salad was good. It's one of those places that I won't go back to, but I also wouldn't be disappointed if a friend suggested lunch there. It's just okay. There are better and tastier options, but this is...okay. read more

I've it been there once, so far... I got a Greek salad and the tortilla soup (random combination, I know) and the servings were huge! The soup filled me up for a very late lunch/early dinner and the salad made two more meals! I like that they have so many breads to choose from and the staff was really helpful in choosing one since I had no idea what 98% of them would taste like... The layout took me a minute to figure out and they were really busy, but everyone was really nice and it was very clean. read more

Delicious sandwiches. Big portions. Fast service. Clean atmosphere. Will definitely be going back.

A solid sandwich experience. One of the best places in town to get a big, flavorful sammie. Lots of comparisons to Panera, but I disagree.(Panera's sandwiches are lackluster, but their soups and 1/2 salads are delish.) Beyond Bread's side garden salads are pathetic--better at Burger King-- and unfortunately the soups are nothing to write home about. But the sandwiches are always very worthwhile! (Just watch out for the ones with a little tooth logo next to the name. It's a warning about the bread being very big and firm to chew. Not a problem with very fresh ciabatta, but when you get one that's a bit older...well, they warned you.) read more

Not a bad place to eat. They got a wide selection of food and Wine. Very busy place filled with older folks. Nothing wrong with that! Be ready to be waiting in line. read more

BEST SANDWICH EVER. I probably crave Beyond Bread more than anything else. The sandwiches are amazing and the overall restaurant concept is better. Warm bread and butter while you wait in line (because yes, you will wait in line) - sign me up! The soup bread bowls are also awesome when you're looking for an alternative. Ooohhh.. and grab a magic bar for desert. What to get? ANYTHING. Particular favorites: Barts Bag - soft wheat, no mayo, add onion, honey mustard baked lays on the side. TO DIE FOR. Avi's Avo - yum. Dab's Delight - a Tuna Melt that will do that... melt your heart. Get the honey mustard to dip it in. There's NO other honey mustard quite like Beyond Bread. Brad's Beef - my husband's favorite hot sandwich. Its delish. read more

Beyond bread is a great place to meet a friend for coffee. Great fresh baked pastries and sandwiches. They serve very large portions!! I can usually barely finish a salad and half sandwich. I feel like I can spend a lot of time chatting or studying without feeling like I'm taking up a table-they have a lot of space! read more

Beyond Bread was a great spot to have lunch! I had Collete's Cordon Blue sandwich on sourdough. The food was served promptly, and it had a great blend of cheese, honey mustard, and chicken. The bread was fantastic, and my friend's focaccia was also very tasty. The portions were significantly better than equivalents like Panera, and the sides that come with a sandwich include healthy options like carrots and baked chips! The location was clean, and the staff was super friendly. read more

Beautiful desserts and fresh bread for the sandwich's.At the end of the day they pass in all the left over bread to charity, nice for the community. The Bentley Beet sandwich can be nicely portioned on the beets, but depending on who makes it I think they don't like beets and they gip ya.Not worth mentioning because they make a fuss about it read more

It's honestly surprising that I haven't written a review for this gem of a place yet. In one word, I would say this place is a "staple". My fiance and I have visited Tucson for work for two weeks at a time roughly once every other month and we HAVE NOT FAILED to visit a Beyond Bread location each time. It is our "healthy-ish, definitely delcious" meal, especially on road trips out of Tucson. We usually order a club, though every sandwich we have ordered has been spectacular. The club is about $13, but I have shared this sandwich with two grown men without any problems -- just serve yourself a VERY reasonable quarter of the double stacked sandwich. The side salad is extremely fresh and I would be surprised if you had any issues with your order -- barring the fact that you ordered it with an ingredient you didn't like. Service is outstanding and I have never had a poor interaction with any of the cashiers. Samples are available at the front somewhere near the cashier -- useful for anyone having "hangry" symptoms. Their unsweet tea is delicious. This place is seriously a stable and have had NUMEROUS Arizona native classmates (I live in Texas) tell me to visit Beyond Bread if I'm in Tucson. WORTH THE TRIP. read more

Yummy! I love avi's avo for the lunch menu and the green ham and eggs for the breakfast menu. The place is cleanly kept, and the service has not failed me (and I've gone to different Beyond Bread locations many times). Definitely recommended. read more

The staff were awesome, very nice and offered prompt service. They could offer a higher quality decaf, but the overall experience was good.

I just spent 25 min in line to be NEXT and them to tell me 45 min wait for soup. Poorly managed

I'd heard a lot of good things about this place so I had to try it out. I ordered the Avi's Avo and grabbed a seat. The tables were all disgusting (no one was on table cleaning duty maybe?) and overall the place was packed so after cleaning up our own table and at least a 15 minute wait, we finally got our sandwiches. When it was brought out I was shocked because the sandwich was piled high with fixins. However, the bread was way too tough and really hard to bite into. The sandwich was actually overwhelming! Just not my personal favorite. I will say that I would have gone to buy bread here or desserts though as they looked really good! read more

This place has so many choices.....I'm always the last to order (stand in line and place your order at the counter) because I can never decide. The sandwich I've gotten the most times is Avi's Avo, which has turkey, avocado, cucumber, mayo and alfalfa sprouts on ciabatta bread. I've also had Bart's Bag, which is turkey with brie, lettuce, tomato, onion with honey mustard & mayo on a baguette. Lastly, I've tried Rex's Revenge, which is sliced chicken, parmesan cheese, lettuce, caesar dressing on Focaccia bread. ALL OF THESE ARE VERY GOOD !! Their breads are AWESOME !! They have some interesting soups, too, and while I've tried it once or twice, I've spent more time in Tucson during the summer heat than any other time of year, so soup doesn't appeal to me then. Their bakery items look amazing, but I am either too full after my sandwich, or I just can't make up my mind. Both my daughters attended college in Tucson, and for all the years there between the 2 of them, we had to go to Beyond Bread every time I came to town. I really love this place, but my daughters have since graduated, and I honestly don't know when I'll be back. Well, if I'm ever in Tucson again, I will DEFINITELY go here. No doubt in my mind !! read more

Great casual place with excellent food, soup, beer and bread. I love the Tomato Basil and I usually do a DUO with half sandwich and soup. Good stuff. Sometimes the crust on the bread is a little hard, but tasty. Beer selection is okay and you can growler it. They also have excellent deserts to browse. Casual night or lunch or drop by later for desserts. read more

We ( wife and I) ate at BB, Thursday night at 6:30, and the restaurant was closing at 7. The restaurant was75% full, felt very friendly and it had a very local feel ( like a great place, that doesn't want the secret out. I had chicken parmigiana ( Thursday's special) . This place is really good. They have a sandwiches that would please any palate or any mood. They also have really delicious soups some of which come in bread bowls. My favorite soups are Clam Chowder(Friday) and Chicken Dumpling(Sunday). The clam chowder is really good. They throw in green chiles which I think gives it a great Southwestern flair. I am leaving Tucson soon and will miss Beyond Bread. It is similar in nature to a Panera Bread but SO much better food quality. I love their Argentinian croissants and other pastries, which I usually pair with an iced latte for a morning treat. It is a great place for lunch as well. Before COVID, I would sit at the high-tops and study while eating lunch (they have outlets). I wish they had more vegetarian options, but the tomato soup is the best I have had in Tucson and their bread is so good. Combine it with a garden salad, and its a great meal. My boyfriend has had several (non-vegetarian) sandwiches and has liked them all. read more

My family loves Beyond Bread. They offer topnotch sandwiches, soups, salads and you can't leave out the baked goods like loaves of wonderfully fresh bread and sweets. I have never ordered a bad sandwich here. They are all stellar. Our son is in love with their loaves of sourdough bread. We usually pick one up for breakfast toast. Just slice off a piece, toast it up, slather on some butter and enjoy! It's that good! Wish we had one of these in my hometown! read more

They normally have pretty good sandwiches, though I'm not a fan of the boiled chicken breasts they put on everything. The Friday special salmon sandwich is one you should stay away from though. It's ill conceived at best. Plain focaccia with salmon and wet lettuce. They've literally put zero effort into this sandwich. If you love tartar sauce maybe you can cake their mayonnaise-y sauce (served on the side) but you definitely gotta put something on it to choke it down. I ended up just taking the sandwich apart and eating the fish with a fork. It seemed promising and they could have done something tasty, they've just clearly run out of ideas. read more

We've been here twice. Last Saturday I had the Reuben special, my husband had a Rogers roast, both were fantastic but we both thought the Reuben was incredible. Today I had the Sunday special with turkey and cranberry, spouse had a muffuletta sandwich. Again, both were delicious but he had today's winner. We hope to eat our way through the menu before we leave Tuscon! read more

The last three to-go sandwiches I have ordered have been magnificent. I still hesitate when I place to-go orders given that in the past they have been far from perfect, but I think it's very worth taking a chance. I recommend the Bart's Bag. Indulge with your a glass of your favorite red. read more
