The man is extremely knowledgeable in his field with all things pool and pool chemistry. I have done my best to have a more than basic understanding, especially on the water balance end of things, and using the saturation index. While I am not always great at the constant upkeep on my pool and chemicals, this is something you know he excels at and it is the best system for maintaining your pool. I was referred to Beyond Blue pools by my brother-in-law after Todd rebuilt his pool filtration system. My pool was in bad shape, and I was under the impression that it needed a second pump to optimize our water flow. Water movement was bad, chemistry was bad, salt cell was not working well, algae out of control, pool would turn every time we went away on vacation. My wife was spending hours trying to keep up with the leaves and debris, and we were just pouring money down the drain on shock and other chemicals to stay ahead of it. Todd came over, and on the first day he evaluated our system. By making some minor changes to the valves and water flow, and some small repairs, he was able to correct many of the problems. But the pool was 20 years old, and things were starting to go wrong. Todd recommended that we transition from a DE to a cartridge filter and a new, quality salt cell that actually works. He said that I did not need a second pump, that the one I have was fine and sufficient. He took apart my spa heater, and found that mice had made a home inside, creating a fire hazard. He also noticed that our pool light had been installed improperly by our pool renovation company a few years ago, and was not properly bonded/grounded, creating an electrical risk. All in all, we contracted Todd to upgrade our equipment. His work is impeccable, and he takes his time to do things the right way. He re-plumbed my filter system and bypassed the hot tub. We switched to the cartridge filter, and the new salt cell, and added full automation features so that our pool and features can be easily controlled on my phone. Todd is incredibly knowledgeable, good at what he does, and honest. He worked on our system all day on a Friday, and came back on a Sunday to finish up. He could have cut out early, or cut corners for the weekend, but he wanted the job done right, and it was. He spent a lot of time with us, teaching us how to use the new automation system. He doesn't try to sell you anything, he just honestly tells you your situation, and your options. But the number one distinguishing factor about Todd is that he really knows what he is talking about. This is not a guy who just started servicing pools one day. This is a professional who knows his business better than anyone that I have ever met. Less than one week after installing the new equipment, our pool is crystal clear, blue and sparkling again, like it was brand new. My wife now does zero maintenance, other than emptying the skimmer baskets. We maintain the water chemistry, and everything is perfect. Todd is the last pool number that I will ever need, because I trust him, and he does great work. Todd has done two repairs on our pool this month. Both were completed very well. The first was the housing for the back wash valve. He replumbed and replaced the valve which had been leaking for several years when opened for back wash. The second was the housing for the popup module that controls the popups. It also had a crack. The pool is 25 years old and repairs are not unexpected. In both cases Todd did an outstanding job and explained everything in a friendly and professional manner. I found my pool pump not working in the morning over the holiday weekend and feared that I would not be able to get anyone to respond for a few days. I called early on Sunday morning as a new customer and received immediate response from Todd. We discussed the issues that I was experiencing and he provided me a clear understanding of the potential issues. After our call, he responded to my location within about 30 minutes and was able to quickly trouble shoot the issue and provide me options to resolve. Todd was well informed about my pool equipment and the information he shared with me was the same as what I had researched and reviewed earlier in the day. Ultimately I decided to replace my pool pump; but with Todd's advice I was able to downsize the size of my pump motor because it was oversized from the original pool construction. While I was not excited about having the pay for a premature equipment failure, I was pleased with Todd's explanation of the issue and that he gave me options to consider. At no time did Todd pressure me to make a decision. Upon completion of installing the new equipment, Todd checked the rest of my pool equipment for any other potential issues and also checked my water chemistry.
