Ok where do I start?!? I am a local teacher here in Escondido. I work at a title one school which means a majority of the families that come to our school are able to qualify for free lunch. We do not get many treats and there are no frills at the school, however it is a wonderful place to work and to have children thrive...I've digressed! Anyways, i wanted to do something special for the mothers of my students for Mother's Day. So I took a shot to see if Better Buzz, my favorite place to grab a drink would cater my lunch in and donate to the local mothers with a drink each and something to eat. Not only did they say yes, but the manager Nicole also drove the order to me! She went above and beyond to assure our mothers had a special day! Let me tell you they were thrilled! I am not a loyal Better Buzz customer for life. Not only do they have the best coffee and omg there is this crazy amazing drink I had with Pop Rocks, but they also give back to their community. Wow! Better Buzz has great coffee, food and service. We ordered the Avocado Toast and it was absolutely great! I also tried the Pistachio croissant and it was absolutely incredible. The staff was so friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking and this coffee shop has a great vibe. They also have plenty of mercy to check out. What a gem in the middle of the old side of Escondido! It is a great addition to the neighborhood. This new location has lots of indoor and patio seating and has a really cute decor. This location also carries a few retail products on hand. I always go with the Best Drink Ever everytime I go to a Better Buzz. It's my favorite espresso drink, the Americano with added goodness that makes it just a tad sweeter and creamier without losing the espresso essence and flavor. The only thing that was a little bit of a bummer was that their wifi was down when I visited. The up side to that however, was that they were gracious enough to give my husband his coffee for free since they couldn't ring up his card. Hopefully they get the wifi fixed soon so that I can visit again and do my work here. read more

The chai I got was tasty and I appreciated the ability to get it half sweet unlike Starbucks who uses a mix for their chai for which sweetness can not be adjusted. The ambiance was nice and I loved the modern trendy gold decor. However, It was way too hot and humid inside. I appreciated it wasn't overly air conditioned like Starbucks but a little bit of AC just to make the midsummer Escondido heat bearable would have been really nice. As someone who goes to coffee shops to work, having a comfortable temperature is important so I can focus and stay a while. read more

Come here for the sandwiches! We've had the turkey and it's hot, high quality and you'll want to savor it. If you are scratching your head wondering why a review of the food and not the drinks (after all, my kids call me the coffee momster), we found this place in between running the kids to after school events. There's plenty of seating at this location both indoors and outdoors. The wifi works great. There's 3 outlet locations along the walls, so this is a great study spot. I got the Best Drink Ever($4.75), half sweet and it was perfection. I went into Better Buzz today 8.24.2023. My first experience and it was an excellent one. I appreciated the right amount of staff to get ordered ready and less than 5 min. in addition meeting store manager Rodrigo and staff member Manny who were excellent on accomodating my order as well as checking up on me. Its been along time I have gotten great service. I appreciate the attention to detail and service. This is out of my way, but will return to get "the best drink ever" with cinnamon foam. This review is for several visits that occurred over a two week span. I had a gift card so I made several visits. I've had an on and off relationship with Better Buzz for the past two years. I stopped going due to the insanely long line and I had a little food allergy situation that I couldn't get clarity on, so I went elsewhere. Enter the gift card and I decided to give them a go. Drive thru service is hit or miss. On my four visits between 7:00 am and 7:30 the person taking my order outside was fantastic. Welcoming and great at answering questions. Service at the actual window is another story. I don't need to exchange my life story at hand off, but a greeting is nice and "we'll be right with you" goers a long way. One morning no one even acknowledged I was there and then after a two minute wait a hand just appeared with my order and pushed it out to me.I needed a receipt to check my gift card balance but didn't even get the chance to ask because the body attached to hand didn't stick around. It was not super busy and there was no cars in front of me at the drive thru. The next day someone else was at the window and the energy was upbeat and nice. I don't know, 50% of the time it was like the crew didn't want to be there and were just slow. On two separate occasions I had to pull around to the front, which is not convenient based on the parking lot flow. I could understand needing to pull around for the toast, but I couldn't understand why I needed to pull around for one horchata latte. I ordered a variety of drinks over my four visits, some hot and some cold. No real standouts. They are good drinks but on the sweet side. I ordered avocado toast one visit. It was just ok, a bit on the bland side-even with the lemon-and pricey. Overall this will stay on my "I'll visit if I have a gift card and 20 minutes to wait for my order" list of places to visit. read more

this is my favorite Better Buzz location. Although it is usually very busy, they are always prompt and get the drinks out pretty fast. Coconut buzz never disappoints and this location always seems to get it perfect every time. I always bring my pup with me and they give him a pup cup along with a little treat on top. I also love the zucchini bread. This is a smaller Better Buzz location, but it has the cutest seating and great lights and music. Not the best place to work from home as it gets a little bit busy unless you prefer that but a great place to meet a friend and hang out for a drink. You'll either get a super loaded bowl with lots of smoothie or a half empty container or smoothie. You'd think they have a measurement so they're all the same size. I had ordered two coffees and two pastries for pick up at a certain time and arrived right on time. The pastries were sitting at the counter waiting for me, but the drinks weren't ready yet. We had to sit their for 15 minutes before the drinks were finished. They seemed to be prioritizing drinks that were ordered in store before ours, which doesn't seem right. I always come to this location about twice a week, because I work in Escondido so it's convenient, I've visited other locations in San diego through the Drive thru and the service is great. Meanwhile I go to this location and I've had many encounters with Vanessa (supervisor) through the drive thru, she's very rude. I finally said something to her this morning about her customer service. She stated that i'm loud and rude, and the other girls think so too? I'm the customer here I asked her name, she said why? She didn't want to give me her name . When I pull up to speaker, I say hello because I don't hear anyone or sometimes they can't hear me. I went in for a coffee and ordered a large Best drink. They gave me a small size so I asked them to correct it (the ticket said large). I walked out to wait and saw them pour it into a large cup and then pour a bunch of milk into it. Whole milk makes me so ill. I went in and asked the four people there, specially the two who did it "is there milk in that?" The first one said "no" and the second one said "yeah I thought it was a latte. Thanks foe saying something." The drink was remade, the espresso still warmed the bottom and had melted all the ice and watered down the drink. And this is probably a franchise-wide policy. I ordered three large drinks tonight at $9 a piece and each cup was only filled about 3/4 of the way. Which means $3 of that nine was just for air? Zero stars on this late morning. They entirely forgot to make my breakfast sandwich despite there being no rush, giving the excuse "someone must have taken it"....sure. Waited for 20 mins for them to remake it and they didn't offer me anything for the inconvenience. They also did not make it correctly--no arugula and horrible arrangement, egg sliding off the bread. You'd think a place as popular as this would have better service. Not sure why they have as much business as they do--they certainly do not put effort into the customer end of things. Been going here for months... was hoping something works change before writing a review, but the staff hasn't improved at all. Snotty, inattentive to walk ins, and don't call out order ready. Today was the worst, I'm one of 5 people there, no line, and waited at the register for a few minutes. One of the male baristas mentioned to the cashier girl I was waiting and she completely ignored him - so he came over and took my order. Also, the tip system there is terrible. Two words, Coconut Buzz!!! that's all I had to try to fall in love with this coffee. The Escondido location is the closest to me, so this is the one I visit the most. I love how from the moment you are outside, you get that vibe that they care about their clients and will give you an enjoyable experience. Inside, the decor is pretty awesome and stands out. All of the staff has always been very kind and always smiling. I can't say enough about this place as it has definitely become my favorite coffee shop.
