    Vanilla Latte cinnamon roll.

Super cool quiet coffee shop. Small but really good coffee and fresh baked goods. Cinnamon roll was fire for the kidos in addition the chocolate croissant needed more chocolate. Not sure if pastries were baked there but tasted fresh. Service was quick and friendly. A but pricy but delicious and tasty

The best coffee I've had lately in San Diego And I also bought beans to make at home -- the flavor is absolutely amazing. So smooth, rich, and honestly one of the best coffees I've had in a long time.

I just popped in for for a quick coffee and pastry, I have been here once before and enjoyed it, the people were friendly and it's a really cute place. There is seating outside, seating inside, they have a really cool logo and what appears to be a robust menu. The ambience here was still pretty cool, however the staff here on this day was really not friendly, not unfriendly, but not very welcoming. The coffee itself was highly milky tasting, and the light ice had ice all the way up to the top. The pastries were warmed for us which was great, however they did not have much filling in them. At this price point, this experience was nothing special.

The coffee was decent. They were out of a lot of things even though we went not that late in the day. The bread was good. I'm sorry. The sando is a BACON lettuce tomato. How are you going to make the worst thing about the Sando the bacon? It was 100% the microwave kind, and 2 pieces of it at that. It was gross. Otherwise. Cute place.

My wife and I woke up wanting to try something new today, so we went to grab some breakfast at James Coffee. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and the restaurant had plenty of seating for both. The inside was very minimal with a nice clean esthetic. They also offer free wifi, which makes for a great place to get some work done. The pastries and other food items are displayed behind a glass and labeled making got easy ordering. We ordered a Ham and Cheese Bear Claw and James Breakfast bagel. The Ham and Cheese Bear Claw was very simple, honestly just ham and cheese, nothing special but enough to satisfy you. The James Breakfast Bagel had a Chipotle mayo on it, which caught my attention. soni ordered it on an Everything Bagel. The bagel was very small for $14.. and when I took my first bite.. the Chipotle mayo was very spicy. There were chili flakes and other spices added to it that were way too overpowering that i couldn't take the Chipotle. All the spice is absolutely not needed. Chipotle is a darn good flavor, and if done right, it could make for a great Chipotle mayo. I took too bites before I couldn't stand the heat around my mouth, very disappointing for what we paid. Overall, James Coffee is a very cute spot but not worth the money to me. I dont think I'll be back.

Cute small cafe with lots of seating. Not sure if there is WiFi but looks like a nice place to study. The staff is super nice. The drinks are poor tasting. We ordered a matcha latte, one with lavender and also sweetened. The matcha quality is so poor and the added flavor you don't even taste it. Basically if you want ice with milk that's what you're getting. Also the flavor of the chai is weak. Wanted to like this place but after tasting the drinks I will not be coming back

James coffee downtown in Little Italy was one of my favorite coffee stops for when I was in that neighborhood. Recently I found out that they are in my backyard here in Escondido. Came in today and ordered an Iced Flat White and happy to report that the coffee up here is just as good as the one downtown. The espresso was well extracted and the resulting flat white was tasty! They also have some baked goods in the shop if you want to pair a pastry with the coffee. Glad to see a specialty coffee shop open here in Escondido.

I've never had an issue the times I've visited. The staff were helpful and accommodating when I needed more sugar or extra flavors in my latte. The pastries have always been good but they sell out fast so I have to go right when they open to get my faves. Prices aren't super expensive as a lot of cafes nowadays. The place itself is spacious and always clean. I'd go more often but the list of drinks and food items feel limited when compared to other spots. Their coffee bean bags are some of my go to gifts for my coffee lover friends :)

    Disgusting dry bagel sandwich

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE! This location has messed up my food order twice now and nothing was ever fixed or done about it when I let them know. I ordered the breakfast bagel it was not edible in the slightest, I wouldn't even let my dog eat it. The bagel sandwich was completely hard it felt like a brick. Also do not place a DoorDash order from here because they don't secure your drinks for safety precautions like come on even McDonald's Taco Bell etc places something over your drink, but apparently this place can't save your money.

With so many coffee shops in the area, it can be hard to decide on one but James Coffee is a standout! The interior is clean and well themed, the pastries and coffee are delicious and the staff are friendly! Because I make my lattes at home, it's often find a coffee shop worth seeking out but James Coffee is somewhere I will return time and time again. A true hidden gem in Escondido!

Is there any nearby public parking that isn't street parking?

Yes, there is a free public parking lot only two blocks away from the coffee shop. It is located on W valley parkway and N Juniper St (2 min walking distance). I hope this answers your question.

The Service: The staff greeted me promptly and took my order without any issues. They were polite and efficient, although a little busy amongst themselves. The Coffee: Unfortunately, the latte was the biggest drawback--it tasted quite bitter and over-extracted. I'd love to make this my "regular" neighborhood spot, but the coffee quality needs to be more consistent for that to happen. The Atmosphere: It's a quiet environment, which was good for productivity. You walk in and the vibes were so welcoming, clean, vibrant, comfy, and spacious. Loved all the details of the artwork and colors they put in to their space. Take time to read the captions of the photos on wall -- it made me feel so connected to the coffee shops origins! I love a good story and knowing the heartbeat of a business. I told the barista how I randomly found them asked her what was their most ordered drink? She told me the De La Olla Latte, Horchata Latte, and Blueberry Matcha. I was in a coffee mood so I went with the De La Olla Latte, got it half sweetened, with oat milk and got it hot. This cup of coffee was one of the best the had. The quality and taste of their coffee beans from Mexico do not disappoint! Also the extra flavoring for this speciality drink was so flavorful too. Well worth the taste, experience, and price! I also ordered a Cardamom Vanilla Cinnamon Morning Bun to go with it. My word the pastry was perfectly made with its softness and outside crunch, and the flavors were so well balanced none of it was over powering or too sweet. The barista's customer service was also so welcoming, kind, and took time to explain their drinks and any other questions I had. She put the cherry in top of my experience there. I am already looking forward to going back to try out their blueberry match or horchata latte! Plus I heard they have bomb conchas. Overall: 10/10 would recommend!

The shop looks really nice inside, thoughtfully decorated, albeit somewhat uncomfortable chairs. I elected to sit at the bar but still had to order at the counter, that's ok. I was given a number sign that was never retrieved. Service was satisfactory, yet somewhat impersonal. I was there for about an hour, watching lunch time service unfolding. They were nice and busy but not suitably staffed for the orders it seemed. Everything just happened at a rather slow, methodical pace. I did observe a few patrons come up to the counter inquiring about their orders and complaining the soup was cold. I ordered the "California Club" sandwich, made with turkey, bacon, swiss cheese, avocado, tomato, red onion, pesto and mayonnaise. Comes with your choice of soup or salad. The sandwich itself was good overall. An appropriate amount of sliced turkey, tasty, crispy bacon on a substantial, dense bread with a nice chew. If there was avocado, it was completely indiscernible. Maybe it was smeared in with all the green pesto, I don't know. The salad was tasty, although haphazardly presented and excessively dressed. Since this place offers wine, I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. It was served in an elegant, tall stemless glass, unfortunately at room temperature. There is one restroom here, somewhat unkempt. In summary, a nice neighborhood spot with a classic coffee shop vibe.
