Friendly staff, good music, tasty scone, perfect temperature out on the patio, good place

This location stops offering service ahead of closing time. We asked for a couple of plates and were told no--that kitchen was closing in one hour. Twenty minutes before closing, they start cleaning the restroom and you cannot use it. Then, 15 minutes before closing, they lock you out onto the patio. It's clear these people want to leave as soon as it's 5pm. Aside from that, the girl working the counter is very abrupt in her responses. Coffee is good but customer service is very poor. If you like Ryan Bros coffee AND want great service, go to the Barrio Logan location. read more

Cutesy, can get quite busy and the indoor seating is rather awkward. Coffee house vibes, the sandwiches aren't half bad though I only stick to one so can't speak on the majority of the food. Dog friendly, have plenty of outdoor seating for you and the pet. read more

Had to come checkout the coffee flights here at this spot. The barista was super friendly and made it a fun experience. The theme was Valentine's Day special can't wait to return to try the March flavors . The shop was very festive inside as well. Parking is tricky you can park on ally or on the street if you want to stay a bit. Definitely looking forward to returning soon . read more

Customer service is so bright and friendly here! They help you decide on what you should get. I love the outdoor seating here as well. I got the salted caramel white chocolate mocha latte iced and the cowboy sandwich on everything. The sandwich was amazing, pretty big so I ate half and then the other half later. Coffee was good, food was eh. I have come here before but today the customer service was not it from one particular person. The girl at the front making the coffees was very friendly but the short red haired girl who took our order made the experience very unpleasant. When she took our order she made it seem like we were an inconvenience. She walked away before I looked up didn't even offer a receipt or anything. The girl making the coffees thanked us and tried to compensate for her behavior, it makes me think she has this nasty attitude very often. Overall, her attitude makes people feel unwelcome. The baristas were so kind. I got a Blended Dirty Chai and the Cowboy sandwich on an everything bagel And both were 10 out of 10! I did split the bagel with my mom because, personally, it was a lot of food. The aioli had a good kick, so if you're not a fan of spice, you won't be a fan of the sandwich (or maybe ask for less aioli). The blended dirty chai was great, I got it with whipped cream (obviously). It was sweet, but also bitter. Somehow they seem to always give me my coffee messy. What I mean by that is it's dripping on the sides, under the lid, etc. I have to wipe it myself so it doesn't get all over me or my car. Still a fave coffee spot but why is it served that way. read more

A friend wanted to stop in and get coffee. I came in to see if they had matcha. They did! But then I saw the menu. I chose the orange rooibos latte with oatmilk and I wasn't disappointed. I picked this place because of the art in the pictures and I was researching black owned coffee places in the area. After some research it is not black owned BUT they are a part of community outreach programs and to me that's amazing as well. As far as coffee goes these espresso shots are very smooth! The drink was made the exactly way I ordered it. My drink is very specific- 4 shots of espresso with very light oat milk & one pump of vanilla. The barista didn't flinch- she smiled and took my order. Which I was very thankful for. Secondly, I ordered a TBA- breakfast sandwich turkey bacon and avocado with so much more. Lastly they do have different specialty drinks that looked great- I am just not a sweet coffee person. Overall- service was great, atmosphere definitely able to get work done, great seating. Seating that is size inclusive(plus size comfy), and good breakfast food. read more

I've been a regular at Ryan Bros Coffee for months now, and I just have to point out something I've noticed. Ianna (the girl with red hair) is amazing. She always greets me with excitement and a smile and remembers my order. I've noticed that this energy she has carries through to other costumers and the way she works so quick and efficiently and with whoever she is working with. Even when there's a line out the door hours into her shift, she greets every single customer with the same genuine kindness and enthusiasm, and makes each person feel truly welcome and remembered. I was studying there for hours today and watched her keep that same positive energy the whole time. She took my order with the same warm energy, gave great recommendations, and my latte came out perfect and very quick. You can tell she really enjoys what she does because her attitude never fades, no matter how busy it gets. Whoever the owner is - you're lucky to have her!!! First time coming here last week. Tried the Iced Vanilla Honey Latte. Didn't want it too sweet so barista made it 3/4 sweet. It was DELICIOUS. Also had a chocolate chip cookie, chocolate muffin, and blueberry muffin. All were good and devoured. Reasonably priced too- all of the above at $17 and some change. I was excited to try a new coffee place today. I walked in and took a look at the menu. Then I approached the front counter for someone to take my order. A girl with red braids took my order, but was not friendly and did not greet or anything. She could be a little bit nicer and seemed a bit irritated doing her job. I ordered a sandwich and a latte. I got my sandwich pretty quickly however I waited patiently 15 minutes for my latte which I went to go ask for and apparently it didn't come up but the girl taking my order seemed very careless and I think that's why it didn't come up. Overall, the place was okay and the coffee was good. However, I think the staff could improve their customer service by being more attentive, welcoming, and friendly to customers. read more

One of my favorite spots near San Marcos! The staff is always lovely and the tunes are always perfect for the study or chat vibes. It's a smaller study space inside, but there's a bigger seating area outside that has comfy cushions / picnic tables. The outdoors spot is covered! Price wise not bad at all and their pastries are delightful. There is Wifi available and a one stall bathroom. The later hours are great for evening studying! Honestly I really love this spot as it's so close to my house. It's a great location, and it has a cute patio to sit down and study or chat with a friend. HOWEVER, the coffee just has not tasted the same the last 3 times for me that I've gone. Sometimes I question whether there's espresso in my mocha, it's not very strong and not consistent in flavor when I've gone; sweetness and coffee flavor. Ryan Brothers is a nice enough spot and the staff is friendly and solicitous. Unfortunately, on the rare occasions I've been here, I've been consistently disappointed. The problems seem to be two-fold. First, the quality of the coffee itself is mediocre. The taste suggests cracked, unevenly sized beans haphazardly roasted. Someone is phoning it in on this score. Second, the baristas' skills are not optimal. They somehow manage to get espresso drinks to taste like they were made with the percolated stuff my mom used to drink when I was a boy. If I'm recommending the nearby Starbucks over Ryan Brothers, that should tell you something. Really hoped for something more. read more

The customer service fell very flat and wasn't necessarily the best but that didn't really ruin the experience. The shop itself is nice but I don't know how people are working or studying when it's so loud in there. The worst part was the drinks my friend got a chai that was literally nothing but milk with a hint of cinnamon, very disappointing. I got the coconut caramel latte and the flavors weren't bad but the oat milk is horrendous. I know it's not their fault but it was hard to get past especially since i paid and extra .75 cents.
