He suggested the Turkado and it was free and flavorful, good sauce. My only complaint as with most sandwiches everything is like in the center and there's so much empty bread all around the edges. I am not an açaí lover but my friends are and they were very happy with their açaí bowls. I purchased the chicken pomegranate pesto sandwich in a wrap. OMG...so good that when I came back today with my own family I had to get it again. My husband and daughter got the açaí bowl and they liked it. My husband has lived in Brazil and did mention it was a little sweeter than he prefers but still delicious. The food is made right there and fresh to order. The sandwiches come with chips. I highly recommend the sweet potato chips. The employees are kind and the food was made quickly. You will not be disappointed! And if you like pesto, get the chicken pesto sandwich in a spinach wrap. Apparently half of Carlsbad had the same idea because this place was hopping in the middle of a workday. My husband will try pretty much anything that sounds different, unusual, or like it might require an explanation. He loved his sandwich. Me? I'm a proud Plain Jane when it comes to sandwiches. I know who I am. Give me a good French dip and leave me alone. This is the third Board & Brew location I've been to, and their French dip honestly never disappoints. The beef was sliced perfectly, tender, juicy, and practically melted in my mouth. Then there's the au jus, which was so good I was seriously contemplating whether drinking it directly from the cup would be socially acceptable. And no, I don't need cheese, onions, peppers, or seventeen other things piled on top. Meat. Bread. Au jus. That's the test. A really good French dip should be able to stand on its own without getting dressed up for prom, and this one absolutely can. Despite how busy they were, the staff kept everyone moving quickly and efficiently without making you feel rushed. Great service, great food, and clearly a popular lunch stop. Now for my one gripe, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the food. The bathrooms are outside and around the back of the building. As a woman, being sent around the back of a building in an industrial area to pee feels a little less "lunch in Carlsbad" and a little more like the opening scene of a Dateline episode. Food? Excellent. Staff? Excellent. French dip? Still undefeated. Highly recommend. Just maybe pee before you go.
