Two words, Coconut Buzz!!! that's all I had to try to fall in love with this coffee. The Escondido location is the closest to me, so this is the one I visit the most. I love how from the moment you are outside, you get that vibe that they care about their clients and will give you an enjoyable experience. Inside, the decor is pretty awesome and stands out. All of the staff has always been very kind and always smiling. I can't say enough about this place as it has definitely become my favorite coffee shop. Everything about Better Buzz is just welp BUZZIN! Their coffee is so smooth and creamy. My husband and I stopped by for a large cup of " The Best Drink Ever" and that drink always slaps hard! Honestly, I've never had a great experience coming to this location but I go to get the GF avocado toast because it's near my home. The last few times I've gone I've noticed rude and undertrained staff. This last experience I had the other day was enough to not go here anymore. It was a combination of getting my order wrong, rude staff and a dead ant on my avocado toast. I was nauseous and felt sick the entire rest of my day. Twice I ordered an acai bowl and twice they forgot to make it until I reminded them. I don't think the front counter people communicate with the people in the kitchen very well. The kitchen people said they never got the order and offered me a pastry to make up for it, which is nice, but I said I was fine since they were going to make the acai bowl. Unfortunately, the bowl tasted like it was going bad so I decided to see if I could exchange it for something else. The girl at the counter let me exchange it for a small flat white and said I would have to pay if I wanted a pastry to go with it. Expensive flat white: $12. It was my first time here, my friend recommended this place since it's a San Diego thing (Honestly, if they open more in OC, I would go to it often but for now, Starbucks is closer for me) They recommended the "Best Drink Ever" and I love it! Went and got the iced vanilla caramel latte and a bacon ciabatta sandwich. My drink was good, lacking in ice so it was a little warm but the flavor was good at least. My "bacon" ciabatta sandwich was stale it hurt the roof of my mouth and half of it had absolutely zero bacon and minimal sauce. It was mostly stale bread that they toasted for a couple seconds. My boyfriend got the avocado toast and loved it but it was just on a piece of bread when I tried it and was cold, could be just my expectation of toast is different but I was just expecting something warm, the bread at least. There was no line of cars or anything in front of us so that's the only reason I'm a little dissatisfied. Overall meh, good place to stop if you're in a rush and on the go I guess. read more

2 reasons for a 2 star review. I want to start off by saying the coffee here is sooooo good!! Overpriced? Ehh not really it's the same as every other pretentious mom n pop coffee shop and honestly? I'm here for it if it means better unique coffees and quality! What I am NOT here for is when I asked for no ice drinks (tooth sensitivity) I got half filled drinks.....and normally I'd understand the cup not being all the way filled with liquid but half way!!!! That's ridiculous!! And the cashier tried to justify that the regular size would also be less but in comparison both the large and regular cups that had no ice were basically filled almost the same amount...the large should be significantly more liquid. The second reason for the 2 stars was for the shitty attitude they had when I offered to pay EXTRA to have my cup filled to the top. I was very nice and calm the whole time and I offered out of my own money to upgrade to a full no ice cup (saying that even sounds ridiculous). Even gave them my change as a tip after the whole mix up. And they gave me a shitty attitude for having to redo the drinks. I suggest the company give a FAIR waning about this policy when ordering online, in person or drive through. Well I honestly tried to give this store the benefit of the doubts I have had. Do not order food here or you will be extremely disappointed. Today was the second time in two weeks that I have had issues with my food order. Both times I was asked to pull around and wait even though there was no line and no one in the store. The first time was my açaí bowl. It was complete liquid and absolutely awful. Fast forward to this morning and I ordered a wrap (new on menu and never tried so might as well). Asked me to pull around again, I waited twenty minutes in the pull around spot. No one ever came out. I could have gone in, but they were in such deep conversations inside with no customers I figured I didn't want to bother them. So put 30.00 for the past two weeks with no food that I ordered. First time at this Better Buzz location and COVID-19 restrictions were firmly in place this past Sunday. The drive-thru line was long, but we were there for patio pick up. We wrongly assumed that we could order at the door, but we actually needed to order online and then pick up our order. This was not the case for our visit to the Better Buzz location at Hillcrest the day before. No worries since ordering online is easy. It's just too bad that we couldn't go into the actual store since it looks really nice, just like the other locations we've visited. I tried the Mint Infused coffee and it was good, just not as minty as I would have liked. Hopefully we'll be back soon and can enjoy our drinks inside next time, always a fun part of the Better Buzz experience. read more

If you've ever had Philz Coffee, you know that nothing beats it. I enjoy Better Buzz for the BDE, not the coffee but I decided to give their coffee beans a chance. I like to prepare my own old brew at home since it saves so much money in the long run haha. When purchasing ground coffee, it's important to distinguish how the customer is going to prepare their coffee at home. Whether it's a French press, Keurig, or pour over, the grinds will be different. If it's too coarse, your Keurig will taste bland. If it's too fine, it'll go through your French press. And that's why when ordering the ground coffee with my Black Card membership, I asked "may I please have a 12 oz coffee bean, grounded for cold brew and a regular iced best drink since I am paying with my Black Card?" I didn't mean to confuse the baristas, but it seemed like they didn't know if I wanted a cold brew or a regular iced BDE. Better Buzz has many types of coffee roasts and I asked for recommendations for medium roast ... or at least the one they use for their classic cold brew. I placed my ordered, grabbed my merchandise, and it wasn't later till I noticed they gave me a Costa Rica light roast. I'm quite disappointed that they didn't clarify that their classic cold brew is a light roast. However the perks of home brew is I could adjust the flavors and use extra beans for the same serving. read more

The cafe is super loud, the prices are exorbitant, and their "signature vanilla" is a POWDER made from a bunch of artificial flavors, artificial colors, and corn syrup solids. You know what's in that vanilla syup the "other place" (which isn't more expensive, actually) uses? Sugar, water, natural flavor, potassium sorbate (preservative), citric acid. I love the idea of the Lavender and Rose drinks, but with these prices and the junk that's in their "signature" flavoring, I guess I'll keep looking elsewhere. read more
