Came to this location while visiting my sister. I wanted to come back to a Better Buzz after my wonderful experience at the Carlsbad location. However this location was a 180 experience from Carlsbad. I order the iced mint espresso drink. I noticed the first time I had this drink they filled the cup to the top with ice which gives you less of your drink you're paying for. So I asked the girl to give me less ice. She said they couldn't do that. When asked why , her response was because that's not how they are made. We sat there going back and forth for a moment me asking why I just can't get less ice, then she said because the liquid won't fill the cup up to the top if they do less ice. But offered to top it off with water to fill it. We seemed to be getting no where so I just said make it however you guys normally make it then. She then proceeds to talk about me in front of me to the barista as they kept looking at me and laughing like I was an idiot to request less ice. Not a great second experience. My drink tasted very watered down. Next time I visit I'll happily drive to Carlsbad where they seemed to care about how you wanted your drink made to make sure you like it. read more

This place is always steeped in chaos. A dozen people working but somehow nobody at the counter and nothing is ready on time. I preordered online and came 15 minutes after my pickup time. My drink wasn't ready. I had to wave someone down because nobody was running the counter to ask about my drink. Not only had they not started it, they didn't even know about the order because it was inexplicably noted on a laptop that they had to retrieve from the back. Despite coming 15 minutes after my pickup, I waited an extra 20 minutes for my drink that they lost. I'm visiting from out of state & my niece took me here because she really loves the matcha drink which she completely gulps down from the time we walk back to the car and I'm buckling up to go! I really liked the wall art and cool cafe set up. They had a nice pastry display case and the employee at the register was super friendly in helping me pick out a drink. I got a seasonal iced drink called coconut matcha with perfectly balanced sweet coconut and matcha flavors. I'm not a big matcha fan but I really enjoyed this combo. A frequent stop for us whenever we travel around SD/Escondido area. This location can get very busy and chaotic that we always opt to park and order instead of the drive-thru. The staff are very nice, so it's worth the store visit. Hazelnut Divinity by ordering it at 50% sweetness level since it can get pretty sweet. I also tried the Vanilla Bean Latte at 50% sweetness, but it was bland and milky. Maybe add a shot or just order HD. Still my favorite coffee go-to when in the area. read more

One of my favorite locations! Love the design of the cafe, the drive-thru and ordering inside or through the mobile app, and such friendly and personable staff. We always feel welcomed when coming into the cafe. I also love all of the indoor and outdoor seating. They have a lot of seating compared to most other north county BB locations. My husband and I recently went in and easily ordered our drinks and food. They gave me my pistachio croissant right away and my husband's ham and cheese croissant sandwich came out quickly. His iced best drink ever came out way before my iced horchata latte (like a 10 minute difference) but it didn't matter since we were enjoying our food. Even though I did have to wait longer for my drink, it was made perfectly. I wish all locations could master the iced horchata latte like they do here. When will I learn my lesson about ordering food from this place? The drinks are fine, but the food is always a huge disappointment. I ordered their feta-avocado deluxe toast which is supposed to include balsamic drizzle, microgreens, lemon, avocado, feta and tomato. They gave me a dry piece of cold, untoasted bread with the thinnest layer of avocado, no balsamic, no greens, no seasoning. What a freaking rip off. Every single time at this place. I stopped into this location while visiting family from out of town and was pleasantly surprised. The decor is bright and welcoming and there's cute merch to browse while you wait. All of the pastries looked very appetizing but I chose the almond butter and jam toast and am so glad I did. I was blown away by the flavors on such a simple item. I have to make a statement here: the pistachio croissant is ABSOLUTELY delicious. I would definitely come here for this. This croissant was just, absolutely divine. Super buttery, flaky, and the honeycomb was beautiful! The chunks of pistachios made it so nutty, and it was a bit reminiscent of an almond croissant. Super fresh! Also got the Best Drink Ever, Horchata Latte and a ham&cheese croissant. Didn't care much for the Horchata latte, the Best Drink Ever was the better drink I would say. Ham&cheese croissant was delicious as well. Not as prominent as the pistachio croissant, but dessert croissants are in a league of its own, anyway. Drive thru line was long. Ok- it's new so I get it. Guy taking my order had no menu so I had no idea what options were available. He shared his faves so I guess that's what we're getting. $36 for 2 drinks and 2 sandwiches. Yikes. I was pretty disappointed in the drink I got. I ordered the mango strawberry BuzZinger, and it was way too sweet. Also, it took forever for me to get the drink. I ordered my drink with other people, and it took 5-10 minutes longer for me to get my drink. I don't know if they forgot about me, or if they were just busy with other orders, but it was annoying to have to wait that much longer. I will never come back. My first visit to any Better Buzz Coffee was 07/26/2025. I was upset about the high volume of ice and low amount of drink. I bought two drinks just to get one. My second visit was on 08/15/2025 to the Escondido Better Buzz and I can safely say it's the last. First the good: The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and things tended to move along at a good pace. I prefer a paper receipt but after 3 minutes of fighting with the receipt machine I realized she was never going to get it to work. As for the bad: That is one expensive cup of ice. I was willing to forgive my Poway visit as a "one time thing" even though I bought two drinks just to get one. Now that I see the same pattern is going on here in Escondido, I realize I'm looking at a pattern for how Better Buzz works at the corporate level. I stopped going to Starbucks 15+ years ago over their ever increasing "ice line" on the cup which kept moving higher and higher each year. It looks like I'll be doing the same thing with Better Buzz. Look at that picture, it's 70% ice. Everything's gone in about three sips. This place is for people who are bad with money and just want to buy a "feeling". There's enough suckers out there that meet that description. I'm different, I care about the value of what I paid versus what I got. What I got was a reminder to try someone else next time. The turkey and brie sandwich I ordered only came with 2 slices of turkey and a squirt of mayo...... that's it. Oh and a single leaf of arugula. No actual arugula, tomato or even brie. I paid $10 for meat and bread. Tried calling but there is no way to contact because they don't answer their phone. Y'all could have at the very least let me know or offered a discount or something but instead whoever made this decided, whatever this is fine. This is just pure laziness plain and simple. Better buzz used to be good.. now their drinks are always so milky and poorly made. The quality is not the same and every time i ask for extra ice they never do it. Also the wait time in the drive thru is ridiculous. There have been times where i have been waiting to be spoken to which i would understand if its busy but there have been times where it is just me waiting for more than 5 minutes.
