I was so excited when I found out a Better Buzzed opened in Escondido!! I decided to visit this morning and give it a try! I ordered the "Best Drink Ever" which is an Iced Americano with Cream. It was super yummy and not too sweet which was good! I also got a Turkey Pesto Sandwich which was pretty good! It was $7.50 and came with Turkey, Pesto Sauce, Mozzarella, and Sourdough Bread that was toasted. I would give it an 8/10. I thought it was good but the Turkey looked like Sandwich Meat. I thought it would be meatier I guess? My friend ordered a Honey Latte and she said it was good! She also ordered an Avocado toast which was yummy with lemon squeezed on top. I like how the cups didn't need straws! They were like the starbucks drink cups with a sippy hole. The inside was super cute! We went Sunday morning at 8am and it wasn't too busy. Great new coffee shop in Escondido! And to be honest, I have never been to or had Better Buzz Coffee! It was amazing and I definitely will be returning. They have ample seating, from high chairs to comfy booth style seating and outdoor seating. My only complaint is it took about 15-20 minutes after receiving my drink order for my almond butter + jam toast, and I had to go up and ask for it. The drink took about 10 minutes to be called, but they were a bit busy, so no complaints there. I just didn't think it would take so long to call my name for my toast. I ordered one and watched about 15 different drinks get called before mine within about 10 minutes. There's about 11 people working, and no one can do a simple pour over before 5 drive thru orders? I make these at home, and it doesn't take this long, as long as you have your water ready at the proper temperature. Then I have my cup dirty with hardly any coffee inside. Am I to finish my cup with a quarter cup of cream?? But sure yeah if you like your coffee to taste like an aggressive assault of sugar and cream, please be my guest. FINALLY Better Buzz opened. I was so excited when they had their grand opening, I came and saw the line and left. Lol. It was a mistake to not give myself enough time to wait in line and wait for the coffee. I came back a few times after and used the drive thru each time. Always great service and the drive thru is pretty quick with how busy they are. The drinks are amazing. So far I have had the Best Drink Ever and the Horchata latte. My favorite is the best drink ever. It is so tasty. I have a few others I do want to try. I also tried the almond butter and jam toast and the turkey pesto sandwich. Both are so delicious. Great fast lunch. I highly recommend the turkey pesto sandwich. The toast, the turkey, the CHEESE OMG amazing. so good. Anyways I will be here often. Just take all my money. read more

This is hands down my favorite coffee shop in San Diego. The oat milk latte is so creamy, I questioned whether or not it was actually oat milk! The avocado toast is incredible. So much flavor on a big, thick piece of multigrain bread. The workers were so sweet and accommodating. Hi all now I am not usually for writing negative reviews but this morning felt very deserving. I have been to this location a handful of times and I am always patient with how long it can be sometimes but this morning was not good! I ordered something new -Iced White Mocha -Mexican Hot Chocolate -Chocolate Croissant -Apple Cinnamon Muffin and was asked to pull in the front for my order, totally fine! I waited for I want to say 15 minutes if not longer and I watched the car behind me pull in as well an get his order before me. I am now back tracked an running late taking my little one to school so I had him get off to ask for our order. He came out with our drinks an a croissant and was not given my muffin, they told him I did not order one. So I got off myself and got in line hoping it is an easy mistake and I can just grab my muffin. The woman who took my order ( Vanessa ) has me standing there for another 3 to 4 minutes ( mind you I am the only one in line ) knowing she's seen me already at the drive thru and tells me I did not order that. I spoke perfect vocabulary and loudly to the speaker box, so I am aware I did an explain to her I did and I have to go if I can just please have my muffin. So she asks me for money with no apologies what so ever. Not good service with this morning's staff and I would highly recommend they begin reading back what you ordered incase they have ( Vanessa ) again working. That or go to the Starbucks just across the street that always serves to the best of their ability with fast service. They also always warm up your croissants which better buzzes staff did not do surprisingly for how long it took. Let me preface this review by saying, that I am NOT a coffee drinker and Starbucks is trying to poison humanity (SBs roasts their coffee beans to nearly black (for darker colored coffee) which carcinogizes the beans (meaning SBs intentionally brews and makes their coffee and food products, in every way they can, as cancerous as possible). This is my go-to coffee place! Just a warning, this location is always super busy so I only make sure to go when I have at least half an hour to spare. My main drink is the mint-infused ice coffee and I replace the heavy cream with oat milk. I recently went and ordered one of their holiday drinks, I believe it was the cocoa cold brew. It was great! In the past, I've also ordered the Moroccan spice latte and lavender black tea latte. These are wonderful choices as well. I've also tried their food in the past and they have really great options. The caprese sandwich is a personal favorite. If you're not looking for a full meal, their scones and other bakery items are fantastic options as well. The ambiance is also really great, though I haven't had much of a chance to hang out in there. The staff is also always really friendly! I've also visited other locations such as Miramar and have had great experiences there as well! From what I've noticed, this location seems to be one of the busier spots. Still, if you're looking for good coffee and a nice spot, you can't really go wrong with Better Buzz. read more

The drinks here are inconsistent when I order in but I love buying the vanilla powder to make the best drink ever at home! The food is great, especially the bacon ciabatta breakfast sandwich. The sandwich has egg, bacon, cheese and a delicious chipotle mayo sauce on it. Parking/drive thru area always a bit crowded and congested, I would recommend just going in to order. I'm sad to make this review, because I actually used to very much enjoy Better Buzz and went regularly. It took me a couple months to actually decide to make this review, I wanted things to be one-offs. Unfortunately, this location has been going down hill for a while now. And I usually leave regretting ever having gone in the first place. The last several drinks I've gotten I would be surprised if they were over 120 degrees, they are often luke-warm at best. I think milk from previous drinks is being used. The food, if it is prepared (like a sandwich), is sloppy and half-assed. Asking for extra or on the side anything, even when charged for it, will be ignored. Often the food is ridiculously disproportionate (a ton sauce on one half and absolutely none of the other). Additionally, the baristas seem frustrated often with simple and polite requests. Ex: Apparently you have to ask for sleeves now and they are weirdly annoyed by this request? I'm not sure what's going on. But it's a noticeable difference. I can totally appreciate that when it comes to food service, employees are often over worked and under paid. And truthfully, in my experience having worked in the industry, these things typically reflect an unhappy environment- usually with management. But there seems to be a general shift that will make me reconsider going back anymore. At least to this location. Again, sorry to have to make this review. I'd just love to see things go back to what we loved about Better Buzz before- great drinks, nice people, and delicious food. read more

I'd you want to find the worlds dirtiest coffee shop, this is it! We didn't stay for coffee. We wanted to have a study date at a shop, but we walked in, cleaned off two tables and sat down just felt too dirty to stay. Also there's like one outlet near the stools so not really a "let's work at a coffee shop" kind of place. That being said the bathroom was surprisingly pretty clean so one star for that! I must say I have been coming to Better Buzz for 5 years. However my experiences have 90% of the time been in San Marcos. Every drink there is perfect and consistent every time! Escondido does not make the drinks the same, you would think you are at a different company. I ordered a vanilla buzz and this time after 5 years it came with chocolate syrup. The manager said it is supposed to be like that but offered to remake it. -10 minutes later I had to ask where my drink was. Again the manager said nothing when and quickly made my drink and it was like the consistency of milk. Not thick and creamy like it has been for 5 years. My husband talk to the manager while I received a refund: She, and I wish I got her name just kept saying uhh. When he asked for the district managers number she handed him Kate Sears card and said "enjoy" and walked away. REALLY IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT UOUT CUSTOMERS? You should be ashamed of allowing employees to treat customers that way. I left Kate Sears a message however I would like to talk to Tim Langdon. I know that won't happen. It's definitely on the expensive side, but since chai lattes are my go-to, Better Buzz has been my favorite so far. They have the option to order online which I recommend because they usually have long lines and drive throughs. My daughter got me into coming here instead of the other large chain in town. I prefer it here because the line is always manageable and my two favorite drinks, the chai tea latte and the matcha latte aren't too sweet which means more tea flavor and our dog LOVES the pup cup. The staff is always very friendly and I've never had to wait too long. They do enforce wearing a mask at the drive-through and in the store which I appreciate.
