I had their signature coffee "The Best Drink Ever." It is a classic americano with vanilla cream. The drink itself was good, however if you get it hot, then it becomes the "The Hottest Drink Ever." The drink was smoldering and extremely hot, that it was double cupped and it still hurt to hold with the coffee sleeve. I had to wait about 30 minutes before I could safely sip the drink and potentially burn my tongue. When it cooled the coffee was good, but not sure if it matches the copyright for Best Drink Ever. My friend had the iced version and didn't have the best experience ever. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and it is very compliant with COVID regulations. The aesthetics of the place are noteworthy! read more

They broke the record, 27 minutes for a Cappuccino and still waiting!! I asked already 10 minutes ago but nothing so far???

If you really want a better buzz from your coffee, order the Killer Bee from here. I had about half of one before I felt like a positively contributing member of society that was addicted to crack. I have a pretty high caffeine tolerance, but I can't really recall another coffee that made me feel like I was actually on something. It really is a Better Buzz. These guys know what they're doing at this point. There's a handful of locations across SD, and they've grown to this scale in only about a decade so. Regardless of which location I've visited the staff is always super friendly and efficient. I honestly can't think of a time I've had bad service off the 101, so it's pretty clear they're good at picking personnel. Encinitas has a coffee shop on every corner, but it's tough for me not to put this one towards the top of the list. Try it and I think you'll agree. read more

I love better buzz, but kind disappointed with this location... first time I got coffee e there a month ago I made a pick up order, asked for 1/2 sugar that was supposed to be less sweet, but my drink was so sweet that I couldn't finish half of it. Today I got a coconut buzz and it took very long to get my order ready and the blended part of my drink was all melted down I fell like drink a regular iced coffee. read more

Only saving grace was the chocolate croissant which was decent (although would have been better warmed up). Cappuccino was terrible! Milk was steamed terribly and WAY too hot. I burned my tongue on the first sip. Also the flavour of the coffee was weak. Not to mention, it took about 30 minutes to get. Overall very disappointed. Will not be coming back. read more

Anytime I am in Encinitas, whether with family or friends, I make sure that we stop at Better Buzz and get something for the drive home. The coffee selection is wonderful. I love that they have alternative milks, and they blend in well with the drinks. They have a very lively vibe and there is usually a line, but it is definitely worth it! The baristas are incredibly informative and have great recommendations! read more

Love the buzz ! Don't like the long lines plus waiting time here. The baristas aren't the fastest at this particular location. I prefer the Hillcrest building for more seating and better service. Even the San Marcos drive through is more efficient than encinitas. With that said I've tried these drinks over the years and everyone of them didn't disappoint. I love this coffee, a bit on the pricy side as almost $7 for a cup of Java is a bit too much on a daily coffee run. Just to be clear it's more for me because I ask for Almond milk. Coffee is delicious and what I loved the most was to see that they are proud supporters of BLM and ‍ and for that they have earned my respect and business even more! I have always wondered what the big deal is with Better Buzz. Not only why there is more than one in SD, but also why the one in Encinitas seems to be popular on a Sunday. After several visits I think the coffee quality is not up to par like the nearby Philz nor the best coffee in San Diego -- Lofty coffee. Because I got tired trying to find a nice cup of coffee or espresso from this place, one day I opted for their protein smoothie. Unfortunately they must have rushed making it because the "smoothie" still had small chunks of ice in it. Service is okay. read more

Aptly named. They do provide a better buzz. Cutely decorated and has a lot of different seating options. Pretty busy most the time and a little on the pricey side but it does occupy prime real estate on the 101 so the prices are in par with what you should expect. read more

So I found out about Better Buzz Coffee a couple years ago from my sister when we to the Fashion Valley Mall, ever since I tried the Best Drink Ever Iced I was hooked. Everytime I come down to San Diego from LA I ALWAYS come this location to pick up a Large iced Best Drink Ever so I can have something to drive for the rest of my drive down. It's seriously is the best and so far the only thing I have had from Better Buzz I'm not going to lie the last couple times I went there the line was long and they were using a system that literally took forever to order. They had one girl take your order and another person taking your payment so it took like 20 mins to order my one drink. The last time I decided to order online for pickup (because I didn't want to wait in that stupid line again) When I walked in the girl asked for my name and that was it, I still waited 10 Minutes for drink like I stated above I only order a Large Iced Best Drink Ever after awhile I got impatient and I asked if my drink was ready and guess what??? it was ready the whole damn time luckily I asked for extra ice and it still tasted somewhat good cause if it didn't I probably would've had me make another one read more

This cute coffee place on Coast Highway is always buzzing with activity! Very cute interior design vibe and delicious drinks. We tried the vanilla latte and the Best Drink Ever. Appropriately named! I love this place and wish we lived closer so we could go all the time! The avocado toast and Turkey Pesto sandwich were INCREDIBLE. Coffee: just okay. We went twice during our visit to San Diego and stay in Encinitas and the coffee was lackluster both times. Parking can be challenging - it's just street parking. And during the weekend the place is packed with parents and children and during the week people park their butts down with their laptops. But if you can find a seat and enjoy the atmosphere and food it's a cool place. read more

Okay so yea yea yea another 5 but I am making a bold statement...this is my favorite coffee shop in San Diego. Now to the list of why... Do Well: 1. Location - can't beat on PCH right near the beach 2. Drinks - yeah so they have so many options and they are all good. From the smoothies to cold brew to espresso drinks, anything you order will be amazing. 3. Food - the food options are great, acai bowls are delicious and the other food options would fit any type of appetite. 4. Staff - the staff is too notch, they are helpful, congenial and nice. Well done. 5. Atmosphere - the decor is great, modern/hipster with lots of open air and white to make the space feel big. Things to Know: 1. This isn't something they can control but it gets SUPER busy on the weekends. Just a heads up. Best coffee shop in SD. Go now, go often and enjoy. read more

Came by for an afternoon pick me up and went with the iced hazelnut latte with oat milk. So good! A slightly tad too sweet for my liking, but I'll just request less syrup next time. As someone who has been sober for over 10 years I've overlooked all the cute little "life is better buzzed" taglines. The coffee is just OK, nothing special. I will say I was DISGUSTED when I saw a van driving on the highway that had "I Drive a little better buzzed". While you're little slogan is ok (it honestly needs work) I think there should be a line drawn when you have this PAINTED ON YOUR VANS. You paid a company money to paint a disgusting slogan. Do you know how many lives are lost due to BUZZED DRIVING?! Yeah I get you're trying to be cute and talk about coffee but honestly it's pathetic and irresponsible. DO BETTER. Get your vans painted over and maybe I'll come back to support your company. ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN AFFECTED BY DRUNK DRIVING SHOULD DO THE SAME UNTIL YOU CORRECT YOUR MISTAKE. read more

I came here specifically because I'm following the keto diet and they have a Keto friendly version of their Cinnamon Cream Cold Brew. I had never been to a Better Buzz before and they did not disappoint! Parking wasn't impossible but, being on PCH, we did hunt a minute or two for street parking. The actual shop is an aesthetic dream, like most trendy coffee shops. Even though it's a chain it had an indie coffee shop vibe. We ordered online and had easy pickup. It was busy (buzzing, if you will) but no line to order in person. The baristas were really friendly and down to earth. I got my keto friendly drink first and as we waited for my husband's drink, the barista who made mine told me they weren't 100% sure they used one of the right ingredients. Rather than guess, they remade my drink which was a HUGE plus to me because if my drink wasn't keto made it would throw off my diet. It made a big impression on me that rather than shrug it off and hope the drink was right, they were honest and made sure I got what I ordered. That kind of integrity made me appreciate this brand big time. The drink - DELICIOUS! If you're on the keto diet, it's a great sweet drink to break up monotonous meals. That said, it is very sweet and I could have gone more coffee heavy, but I bet next time I can say light cream or something. Very impressed overall though! My husband got The Best Drink Ever and he was very happy with it too. Definitely my go to coffee spot when I'm in San Diego now! read more

Great spot! Beautiful, spacious interior with a nice amount of seating. The coffee was great...love the ceramic mug design!! The three-seed avocado toast was out of this world. Huge portions and everything tasted fresh and delicious. The cashier was a sweetie and took time to explain the different offerings. We used to love Lofty but this place one-upped them in my opinion and it's a little bit closer to our campground. I'll look forward to coming here whenever we are in San Elijo! read more

Do not expect your food to be there when you order ahead. After probably about 100 or more times we've been here, I have to finally leave a review. We have an apartment right above this place, their ceiling is our floor. The pick-up area for the food is about the same distance most of us walk from bedroom to the kitchen in our homes. So when any of us are at the apartment, Better Buzz is just plain convenient. The food and coffee is really good 90% of the time, the app for ordering is simple, and a couple of their employees seem to care about things a little bit which is why I gave 3 stars. But when it comes time to pick up the order, it's so frustrating! Do not order online and expect that to save you any waiting time. The order is either not ready because they are running behind, or more annoying and AVOIDABLE, someone else has taken your order. And it's OFTEN! They put the online ordered food and drinks on a shelf on the other side of a busy walkway/waiting area where people walk by to get to the back entrance or the bathroom. And where people stand waiting for their orders. So the food and drinks are often taken by other people- either purposely or mistakingly. I've never mistakingly taken anyone's order because the name is printed on the sticker of each and every cup, container or bag. So my guess is it's on purpose. It happens ALL THE TIME. When I ask about my order they say "oh I put it on the shelf, someone must have taken it." And then you have to wait while they remake your order. Usually with no sense of urgency on anyone's part other than the kitchen I guess, since the food portion usually comes undercooked - avo toast is never extra toasted like we requested, or even toasted at all. But the whole experience shows how little they care about the customer. The food is already expensive and I always add a tip when I put in the order in, but tipping makes no difference. I will probably stop as they don't even care anyway. We've stopped going there as often as we used to only due to the pick-up issue. There are ways for them to solve it but apparently they don't even see it as a problem. Probably because it's always busy so they figure people will keep coming no matter what. So if you have plenty of time on your hands and don't care about customer service or prices, I would recommend trying this place. The food and drinks are actually really good! read more

I'm leaving this review for the girl who made my coffee today in hopes someone can hold her accountable for incredibly rude, angry, inconsiderate and sassy service. At the end of the day we ate all human and go through stress or trauma but this little Asian girl with tattoos proceeded to talk to us in a demanding, belittling tone because I did not like my chai coffee and wanted to change it. She continued to roll her eyes and after all of this as my elderly friend noticed her horrible projection onto us handed her a tip for the "extra" effort, and she continued to ignore her and not even say thank you. There is no exceptions to treating anyone with such disrespect especially elderly, regardless of person life. There is no excuse to project that type of emotion in the work place. read more

Love the coffee. Staff is great. They just struggle to staff enough for certain times in the day. 15-20 mins for a coffee is bad.

I stopped by Better Buzz Coffee on my way to San Diego. The interior is really nicely decorated -- perfect for Instagram opportunities, and they offer plenty of seating and free wifi. Their menu is quite extensive, and includes the classic coffee drinks along with their handcrafted specialties. I got the lavender black tea buzz with hemp milk, which is a blended tea drink. The lavender syrup is sweet without being too overpowering, and the hemp milk was very creamy. The lavender was honestly a bit too sweet for me, so I'll definitely order it less sweet next time. My friend ordered the iced honey latte. She got it 3/4ths sweet, which was the perfect amount of sweetness. I thought the coffee was a bit strong, but she really liked it. There's a lot of street parking around the coffee shop, but it can be hard to snag a spot on the weekends. I ended up parking on a nearby street and walking over. I really liked the ambiance and the open windows, but there were a lot of flies buzzing around. I wish they would do something about it, but I guess it goes with their name? I love the hipster coffee shop vibes, though, and I can't wait to come back to try their other drinks! read more

The "best drink ever" did not live up to it's name. It was mediocre at best, tasting just like any regular vanilla iced coffee. The store is bustling, and it was difficult to have a conversation there, but the turnover is quick and you can definitely take your drink to walk along the beach or check out the shops on the same street. The decor is very aesthetic, and there's so many aspects that you can uncover. The service was very kind, but its just a shame the drink did not live up to the hype. read more

Where's the service and the manager terrible service all they do is talk and talk to each other at the bar. And it's super unprofessional listening to other employees talk about their men! I was highly disappointed in their service. I order 6 various bowls and only received 5. They were all un-marked, so I don't know who's bowl is whose. When I tried to call about the order they were not taking messages. "The mailbox you called is full and is not taking messages." Really cute location. Probably the largest and nicest one I've been to so far (I've only visited the ones in San Diego). I love how each location has a unique vibe and atmosphere. The drinks were made exactly how I wanted, although I had to wait about 15 minutes for my drinks. It was really busy inside since it was a Sunday afternoon. Very good breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, and coffee. However, this morning I almost swallowed a long strip of plastic that was in the smoothie I ordered. The WiFi doesn't connect, despite a lot of internet research and time spent trying to fix it. The staff (who are understandably busy) aren't able to help. If you're looking for a trendy coffee hangout, look no further, Better buzz has all the beards, beanies, and thick black rimmed glasses your little heart desires. First off, this cafe is so aesthetic, perfect if you only get for coffee for the Instagram picture. I'm a travel and lifestyle blogger so I'm always looking for places that are worthy of the feed haha - I love the modern color scheme, and the indoor/outdoor aspect of it especially since it's right around the corner from the beach. Located right in the midst of all the encinitas and solana beach fun, this is a great spot to be. Aside from just the way it looks, they have a great menu! Drinks, small breakfast and lunches sandwiches, and pastries. The seating and tables are plentiful, the music is great, and even though it's on the main street, the atmosphere is quiet and comfortable. I should add, too, that the gift section at the front is super cute and they have a nice selection of little nicknacks. Thanks, Better Buzz, I'll be back! read more
