The place I come for when I get coffee when going to SD! I love the aesthetics of this place and every time I come it look always clean and nice! I came by this week twice because I really love better buzzed! When you come in you get great ambiance and atmosphere and that's what I guess keeps people coming right? The customer service when you walk is is also great too! Staff is always willing to assist you! The greatest drink ($5)- this is an Americano with vanilla cream! Very good and I think that's why this place is famous... because of this drink. You get this very light creamy taste that make you very comfortable with what you are drinking. I swear it's something to get. If you need more of a coffee taste go for the half sweet with a shot of espresso if you wanna calm the sweetness down. Cocoa cold brew ($6)- To be honest I love chocolate but I wasn't a complete fan of this. I realize it wasn't like a mocha latte which was definitely my fault. I wouldn't completely recommend this drink unless someone was begging for cocoa and cold brew. Overall, definitely like this place a lot! I recommend it for people who love coffee and coming down to SD! I was helped a lot by the staff especially the male cashier Harman! Really did his best to make sure the drink I got was just right and he is very personable and nice! When I didn't like my drink he offered to help me get it adjusted of course the Covid compliant way! Definitely will come back and recommend it to all my friends that come! read more

My fav coffee I've had in the entire SD area! The hazelnut divinity was sweet and the hazelnut wasn't overpowering. The drink was also huge and wasn't super expensive like other coffee shops that charge $10 for an 8oz coffee. The inside was cute, lots of tables, friendly and quick service, and great environment. My bf and I love this spot! read more

3 seed avocado toast is not vegan! Slathered in thick butter below the avocado. Never seen this on avocado toast, not listed in the description or ingredients, and not standard for avocado toast. Extremely disappointing. read more

Inconsiderate and unprofessional. You do not get what you pay for and the expectations versus realty of the products given were far beyond poor than any experience at other locations. They will not even bother to look up at you or will completely ignore you once you get your order. This was a messy, sticky, and burning mess. No sleeve or stopper for an extra hot drink that was 3/4 full of foam and air not even filled to the near top and some that may have spilled over the edge when they attempted to put the lid on with sticky fingerprints and all. There was barely any açaí in the açaí bowl! What a waste of time and money. Will not be returning. read more

This location lacks customer service. Someone spilled coffee as they were leaving, right in front of the register. Everyone just stared at it - for several minutes. I was nowhere near the closest person to it but I walked over and cleaned it up with napkins. Then, a worker came out as I was throwing the napkins away and just looked at me. No "thank you" for helping to clear a spill and prevent slips or sticky feet. The vibe at this location isn't friendly, nor is the staff friendly. I asked a staff member for the bathroom code to wash my hands. I was given the code, repeated the code back, and they affirmed. I was super cordial about it, but still - not a very warm Interaction. Then, walked over and the code didn't work. My wife ended up getting the right code a couple minutes later when she ordered. Her drink was fine, no issues there. Just, customer service could use a refresh. read more

I have visited this location a few times in the past and it just seems like customers are a nuisance to the team members, and the environment just seemed unkept. However, a friend wanted to meet there and it was a surprise to me to be welcomed, attended to with a smile (even though it was pretty busy), and I got my snickerdoodle and turkey pesto so fast! I thanked them as I grabbed my items and the team member responded, "thanks love," and I thought it was so sweet! Such a different tone. Management seems to be doing a great job with the changes! Kudos! Will be back. read more

I always love finding new coffee places to try! I finally got a chance to try Better Buzz after my friends kept telling me about this place! You can either order ahead online via their website or order in person. For this location, they have a little patio area outside that you can sit to enjoy your coffee! My friend recommended me to try the Best Drink Ever without any adjustments. The Best Drink Ever is a classic americano with signature creamy vanilla. I usually don't like my coffee with anything but wow this drink was AMAZING. I didn't think it was too sweet and it definitely woke me up that day. My friends also ordered their Rose Water Latte which had the rose flavor but we all agreed the Best Drink Ever was probably the best drink ever! If you're ever in San Diego, I definitely recommend trying their coffee! read more

It buzzes, no doubt about it. Unquestionably the king of Encinitas coffee shops, Better Buzz always attracts a large, younger and fairly hip crowd. The good seats are often occupied by 20somethings chatting with friends or working away on their 13" space gray Mac Pros, air buds drowning out the noise. And there is a lot of noise. The price for its open, chic decor--with whitewashed partially exposed brick walls and slate floors--is a pretty constant din. That's fine; some people enjoy the slightly frenetic quality of an "in" place. For the record, it's a great-looking cafe and a fun spot to gather with friends. That said, the real proof of a coffee place is, well, the coffee. And there, frankly, Better Buzz is hit and miss. Some of the baristas have decent chops and produce fine espresso drinks. Others...not so much. I may be wrong, but there seems to be a fairly large rotation of staff at BB, meaning that there is a pretty wide disparity in coffees produced. That there is such a variance is a management issue. To put it briefly, there needs to be better quality control. I understand that the crowds there can be large. Ordering and actually getting your brew can easily take 15-20 minutes certain times of day. But no matter how busy, there should be skilled and constant supervision of what's being served to customers. As this is one of my family's faves, I come to Better Buzz with enough frequency to know they are capable of making great lattes, cortados, etc. With a bit too much regularity, however, they unfortunately fail to do so. read more

Amazing service and great food! The workers were very friendly and place was very clean.

wow... I didn't know the true meaning of life until I started coming here. They have the best team and drinks ever. I am just at a loss for words. Katelyn was such a sweetheart she made my drink exactly how I wanted it and it was a complicated order. Mackenzie really put me on to the lavender matcha my taste buds are so happy. read more

Words cannot ESPRESSO how much I love this coffee shop. They have a wide range of options for everyone. The interior is aesthetically pleasing and the staff are all friendly. Better Buzz Coffee is just a grab and go coffee shop. There are seats, but it gets extremely busy. Overall, it's a great place to grab some quick coffee! Will definitely be back. read more

Left this business after the bearded fellow tells my party of three "just a minute" after we wait at the counter and then proceeds to rustle around behind the case- critical tasks apparently more important than us- and we're left standing there waiting like idiots for 5+ minutes. No one else is in line, others are making the orders, what was he doing that was so important? No apologies at all, so we turned around and left. People describe the decor of this place as a welcoming hang out but I don't get that vibe. It feels rather barren and sterile and all the workers look like they are run by a computer chip not a human heart. Its weird because Encinitas is typically so friendly, this is only place I got the snobby aura. There are plenty of other places to get a coffee free of zombie tech people and rude employees. That is all. read more

To keep up the holiday shopping, I needed a stop here first! I always order the same drink, and that is their "best drink ever"! It can be scalding hot, so I asked for a spoon and drank it that way for about five minutes! I didn't want to get too jacked up on caffeine since it was 4 PM, so the barista suggested I do one decaf shot and one regular shot. I really appreciated her advice! The decor is so cute and it is a very spacious location where you can watch people strolling the streets of downtown Encinitas! I'm a big fan of better buzz! Their bakery items are always yummy as well! read more

This is by far one of the coolest, cutest, tastiest coffee shops that I have been to in this area of San Diego. So grateful that one of my very good friends lives minutes away. She brought me here on my last morning in town for breakfast and coffee. This was a week day but this place was hopping! Not a huge space, but plenty of room to get some work done, study or just people watch out the front window. The best part is you are just steps away from the beach. I decided to go with the Bacon Ciabatta Breakfast Sandwich which featured cage free eggs, bacon, muenster, spicy chiptotle aioli on a ciabatta roll and my friend with the Avocado Toast. The avocado toast featured watermelon radish, cucumber, sesame seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds, lemon, crushed red pepper, micro greens on multigrain. For our drinks, I went with the lavender latte and my friend went with a regular latte. Everything was really tasty and we were very satisfied. Service is helpful and everyone seems to be enjoying their job here. I will definitely be returning here next time in town for a better buzz! read more

My friend and I went in looking for a pick me up. We both ordered Buzz Energy drinks just to sit there and watch them pour a full can of LaCroix into our cups. No actually energy drink was even used. Meanwhile there were Buzz Energy cans in the fridge right below her. No garnishes were added as the description says to either drink. Not sure why the employee didn't make the drinks the way we expected them to be made. Very disappointed in this experience and a waste of money. read more

My drink was 11/10 and so was the girl that served me. Definitely coming back for more and to see Claire!

Great service! Kendall is super sweet and helpful. Great food! We always come here and it's so enjoyable.

super nice people. great food and drinks. coffee is pretty amazing and they sell the beans. the vibe is super friendly and fun

Large selection of coffee any way you want it. Very large menu for sure. Simple hot food menu and bake goods. I ordered a Moroccan Iced Coffee which was enjoyable. Saturday at around noon place is busy with a long line to order but with 3 baristas service was quick. Next time will order avocado toast. You can get buzzed here for sure. They also have fresh ground coffee under their label to go. Plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your coffee and food. Will stop again before leaving the area. read more

I am obsessed with Better Buzz's chai! Seriously, it is the best chai that I've ever had anywhere. Sometimes chais can be too spicy but this one is more on the sweet side and is smooth and delicious. This location unfortunately doesn't have a drive thru and is located in the heart of Encinitas on the 101 so it's a bit difficult to find parking. I had to park a couple blocks away, which I wouldn't always be willing to do, but on this day I had a second stop to make down the street anyway. The line stretched almost to the door but moved surprisingly fast. read more

Baristas listen if you have additions or subtractions to your order. And they work fast. Seems like a happy group of workers. the blended coffee tasted like a vanilla milkshake. The workers think they are better than you. I also watched a huge health violation. The barista pet a dog and let it lick her and then proceeded to make someone's coffee without even washing her hands. As someone who is allergic to dogs this is very concerning and needs to be addressed. I have notified the health department as well. The ambiance consists of middle aged hipsters with no sense of personal space. This place sucks, if u need a coffee go up the street. read more
