Flavor was good, corn tortillas were really good, thick and fluffy. Salsa sucked and is really watery, too watery. Our order was to go and within the last 30 minutes of them being open, so half our order was wrong and we didn't discover it till we got home. I asked for the hot sauce they keep behind the counter, they forgot to give it to me. We ordered 'top shelf' .75 cent extra for each, they didn't add the avocado. We ordered half the tacos with corn and the Other half with flour (one person is gluten intolerant), they then made all the tacos with corn instead. The sides are small, and the chips are fried and too greasy/oily tasting. This was our first time here, idk if they were having a bad day but it wasn't that busy and it was really disappointing to drive home and find it all messed up and they were closed by that point. My wife and I decided to try this place after much debate and to our suprise, this place met all of our expectations. The food is amazing and is at a reasonable price. So much to chose from but so far can't be the Steak Street Taco's.........come on in and trust me you won't be disappointed whatsoever..... The 5 stars is. Because of the amazing food. However I'd have to give it 3 stars because the place is outdated. They need new tables, chairs, and booth's. Hopefully soon they will do a little remodeling......but please don't let the inside from enjoying great food at a great price. read more

Trying a new place for lunch with my kids and sister in law and her kids. I was excited to venture out of my usual restaurants. It is small, but not bad. There was six of us and we had to sit separately because there were other people seating at the only big table they had. You have to order at the register and pick up food yourself, which was fine. The lady taking our order was very kind and brought us our orders. I ordered the California burrito. It was good. I really didn't have too much steak and some was seasoned and some wasn't. I did like the the veggies in it. My older son likes ground beef but they didn't have any available so he tried a different meat, carnitas. He said it was okay. My youngest son, had chicken flautes. He did like them and the queso. I realized he liked them because the plate and cheese was gone so quickly. My other family member got the barbacoa. We all tasted that and were in agreement that it was good, just needed a little more salt but definitely the best thing we got. The food was a little pricey in my opinion. I was left disappointed considering the rating it had. I felt the flavor was missing today. read more

I am not sure what the other Yelpers were writing or if they are true. Ordered the 4 street taco plate and it was skimpy on the meat to say the least. On top of that their so called salsa bar was empty with the exception of some onions and limes! Both salsas were empty. I asked for some salsa and she told me they ran out!!!!! REALLY??!! Mind you I came in 90 mins before they closed!! The place was messy to say the least. On top of that I am still hungry! This is absolutely terrible. I freaking love tacos! I live in San Antonio and could literally live off of street tacos as long as there is cilantro, fresh lime and my favorite green sauce. Steak, pork, fish, chicken, whatever. If it's stuffed into a corn or flour tortilla, I'd probably eat it. As it happens, we came in on "Taco Tuesday" which means .50$ off of the ground beef and fish tacos. Me, being the rebel I am, ordered two steak and one pork carnitas taco with a side of chips and queso. The steak was so tender, juicy and hot that I devoured the steak tacos immediately. I am always really hesitant about pork carnitas as they are always almost dry as a rug. These were moist and tender and made for an excellent taco stuffer. I LOVE the condiment bar. There were so many choices! Cilantro, green and red sauce, fresh onion, lime, pico de gallo and some other stuff that I didn't get a chance to try. You can also order guacamole from the menu and add that as a nice topper to your tacos. I'll be back when I'm in the Clear Lake area. read more

I really wish I could give this place a higher rating but overall I was not impressed. The good points- The counter girl was friendly and helpful. My order was ready quickly. The salsas were homemade and pretty good. The bad- Dining area was dirty. Mostly ALL of the fountain drinks were out. The condiments bar needed a little maintenance. The little to-go condiments containers should be bigger (they are too small to hold jalapenos & limes). The food lacked flavor. My taco salad was overpowered by lettuce and they put the lettuce on top and everything else underneath so I couldn't really see how much meat was on it. I want to start my review by saying that this place is really new, so they are still tweaking things, adding to the menu, and working out the kinks. And I really want them to succeed because I love to support small businesses! The hubs and I stopped in last night around 6 p.m. and were greeted by 2 friendly ladies (one I assume is the owner since she was talking about working on the menu, decor and other things). Apparently they had a rush earlier in the day that caused them to run out of carnitas and steak, which was ok with me (not hubs) since I was going to get the fish tacos. So I ordered the combo, which comes with your choice of 2 sides and a drink. I opted for queso and chips to accompany my 2 fish tacos, which are blackened tilapia. I was starving my butt off when I arrived, so I did devour a good bit of the chips and all of the queso. However, the chips were a little stale and they brought me so many that it would be enough for 2 people to share. The queso was pretty much what I expected, so I added pico and salsa to it to jazz it up a bit. I would definitely skip the queso and chips next time. The fish tacos were pretty tasty! The fish was nicely blackened so it had a good flavor to it! I think the thing they were missing, which all fish tacos have on top, was a little cabbage. True to what another reviewer stated, the condiment bar was really running low on items such as picked jalapeños and pico. But unlike what the reviewer stated, when we let the ladies know, they willingly brought more out. The condiment bar has green and red salsa (the green had more kick to it) which is made fresh daily and pretty yummy, as well as fresh & pickled jalapeños, pico de gallo (which needs some seasoning or salt or something because it was extremely bland), sour cream, cheese, lettuce, onions, etc. I also ordered a side of guacamole. It was fresh but again, a little bland (and I don't use salt so for me to say that it and the pico were bland, is a definite fact). Overall, the meal was good, but like I indicated, I would skip the combo next time and just pay for a drink to accompany the fish tacos. Maybe they can work on seasoning the pico and the guac! I will go back in a week or so to give it another whirl! read more

I saw this new place a few weeks ago so me and the hubs decided to come here for Saturday lunch. When we drove up, I noticed that they had a drive thru window but it wasn't in use. I'm assuming that was from the previous owners. We walked in and there was one couple eating. There are enough seats for maybe 40-50 people. The menu is pretty simple. You decide what type of meat you want and what type of taco (crunchy, soft, flour, corn). They offer a combo for 2 sides and a drink. I got a fish taco, pork taco, queso, and chips. I also ordered a side of Spanish rice. My husband ordered the chicken torta. I got exactly what I ordered. Corn tortillas with my fish and with my pork. Looks pretty basic. Then you get to go to a toppings bar and dress it up. I was expecting some sort of sauce on the fish taco. ...something. But it didn't really matter. The fish was amazing! Cooked perfectly! Super flaky! The pork was just okay. A little on the dry side. ...but the flavor was good. I really enjoyed the queso and chips. They made their own tortilla chips. Love that! You get to fill your own drinks. ...free refills! We'll definitely go back. The price was super reasonable! Wish they had a drive thru. They serve breakfast tacos too! read more

Seems like a pretty new place that opened up in clear lake. No other breakfast taco joint in the area to my knowledge. It's a very small, family-run place. Very casual. Prices are also reasonable. I got one bacon, egg, & cheese taco and one chorizo, egg, and cheese taco. You can choose between flour or corn tortillas. Around $2.99 each I think? My friend with me got the breakfast burrito with bacon, rice, and a bunch of other stuff in it, and it was HUGE. She said it was also very good and $6.99. Overall, I'll probably come back here when I'm craving breakfast tacos in clear lake because there's really no where else to go for them, and the food was good and well-priced. Nothing to complain about. The woman was also so nice and attentive to make sure she could get us everything we needed while eating! read more

The breakfast tacos I ordered were okay, 3 tacos were with jalapeño annnnnd it was quite overwhelming. It tasted as if one was biting into a rather large, whole raw jalapeño more much than a breakfast taco. Everytime I order from here they leave something out my taco that I paid for. This last experience was my last due to coming in on a Sunday and their was a guy training a new guy. He was doing a great job training him but as soon as he finished he immediately went to the back and start touching food, after touching the register, money, debit cards and whatever else was at the counter. Small place not much in ambience but makes up in taste. Coming from the SF Bay Area we have some of the best authentic Mexican food around. Surprisingly, the tacos were tasty. Unfortunately, the day they never run out of fish was our loss. We had chicken, steak and pork which were good portions and all the fresh authentic toppings except for pickled carrots, jalapeños nor fresh sliced radishes. Skip the chips which were stale. We agreed on this place. I had the California burrito, modified it to be vegan and added potatoes. The thing came out HUGE!!! Even the guy sitting at the table across from us commented on it and said that I wouldn't finish it. I thought he was right but boy was he wrong!! It was amazing! As the star rating suggests - this place is okay in my book! Decided to give this place a try when I found it searching for restaurants in the area. Shockingly never noticed this place despite driving by its location on Saturn multiple times! It's in the plaza tucked in behind the Chevron gas station (and across from JSC bank) at Gemini & Saturn. You'll likely have to turn onto Gemini before you spot the sign! I ordered the street tacos (2 carnitas and 2 steak), 1 pastor taco, 1 barbacoa taco, and 2 fish tacos to split. The street tacos are a bit smaller than the others but just 4 of them would certainly be enough for a meal for 1! I wasn't a fan of the carnitas or pastor tacos because they lacked seasoning. The pork was juicy and well cooked but it was flavorless in both. The fish taco suffered the same problem but it also had that awful aftertaste you sometimes get with really strong seafood. I definitely won't be getting the fish again but I might try the carnitas just to see if maybe it was just an off day. The steak and barbacoa were both fantastic! These were the saving grace. Both cooked well and flavorful. The barbacoa especially was delicious, definitely try this! Since I ordered takeout, I can't speak to service dining in. The employees were quick and efficient when I went in to pick up my order. The restaurant is very small and only has a few tables. This looks to be one of those casual places where you pop in, eat, then go. Not for the long hows-your-life conversation meals to take place! Parking is ample in the shared lot. Overall, this place is a nice option for when you're craving tacos but not the massive monstrosities Torchy's produces (don't get me wrong, sometimes you want a lil street taco, sometimes you want Torchys - I get it yall). Because there seems to be a wide variety of hits or misses on the menu, you'll probably want to try several different options. read more

I have tried it twice, but it's just not good. #1 tortillas are not homemade #2 the wait is long - it's tacos; what could be taking so long? #3 using a microwave to heat up food - why? # 4 the price is too high. Ordered potato, bacon, egg taco. Flavor of the contexts watasty , The tortilla flavor was alright. Nothing amazing. I didn't notice much bacon at all. Taco cabana puts more in the taco and it's cheaper. But overall I'd return and try something different. Went back again to order a taco.
