Back in the day the shit was off the chain amazing food great tamales like grandma use to make but something happend like its almost like the owner left or sold out to someone else at its peak of its time and just like every business you open and work your ass off to bring the best product and once the mon ey comes in the the owner gets greedy and starts forgetting why he opened the business in the first place and focuses on money and how they can cut corners and make more money and the quality goes down the drain... tamales are a big roll of masa hardly any meat taste is gone their menudo sucks its trash now taste like wolf brand chili soup think and greasy their tacos are still good but how can you fuck up a egg and potato or egg and bacon or chorizo and egg taco by all means no disrespect.... I've been a customer for years and yes it was amazing food but now its not that great my last order was placed 12/12/25 tamales and tacos for my company and having your mexican co workers say man these tamales are nothing but masa...where is the meat.... what is this bread rolled in a cornhust and the most horrible thing said was man tamales in a can are better than this is embarrassing... sorry torritos but I will no longer patron your restaurant anymore thank you for the great food in the beginning. read more

When I first started eating here, years ago, their tamales were the best around. Sadly, another place bites the dust and the time has come to start making my own. Overpriced, dry, and more masa than filling. Clearly, grandma's recipe has been cast to the wind, and only remains as a fond memory of days gone by. You order at the counter and then sit down. The restaurant is small but they still respect social distancing. Anything I get at this place I know it is going to be delicious! Their tortillas are homemade & their tacos are pretty big & they add a lot of meat into them. I have not tried their tamales yet. Food was good but the other dishes other people ordered did not have as much flavor. For example the chilaquiles rojos I would have preferred they were more crunchy and they ended up being more soggy. read more

I have had a great experience at this place. Usually once or twice a year I pick up tamales for my coworkers and they are gone in seconds. Ordered food for the whole family from here and as we were walking to our truck this lady's son hit our vehicle (brand new High Country truck). He said sorry and I told him to just be careful. The lady walks back all mad and opens her car door and purposely hits our truck again. She started yelling and cussing at us on the street that we shouldn't be parked there because we were customers from the Country store next door when clearly we had ordered $40+ dollars worth of breakfast tacos from Los Toritos. She said she worked there (Los Toritos) and that she had every right to be speaking to us the way she was and that our truck was too close and that she's "too big" to be cautious of other people property. I have a video of the way she was yelling at us and also of her when she purposely hit our truck for the second time!!! Her boys were trying to calm her down, pulling on her arms embarrassed of their own mother. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I drive to La Mixteca in Galveston once a week for my migas con chorizo fix and decided to see if I could find that fix someplace closer. This place isn't it. Eggs, chorizo and tortilla pieces didn't blend and were nearly impossible to make stay on the fork. Chile powder in them was way, way overdone. Potatoes were ok and refried beans were the right consistency. Tortillas made on-site were what earned this place the second star. If you're looking for migas, keep looking. read more

This is a little hole in the wall place next to a Diamond Shamrock in a strip center. I would NOT recommend eating there, I usually order my tamales then head home to enjoy them. They have a good selection of flavors, but I usually just stick with the shredded beef/spicy. MMMM-MMMMM-GOOD! I usually order a dozen and it comes with red and green sauce. This year because it's just me and my hubby, we still wanted our tamales for Christmas Eve. So, we get a dozen of spicy pork and one of spicy brisket. He handed me the hot bag and we smiled at each other. We pulled into another parking spot and are half of the brisket ones, and one of the pork. We laughed as we know these must make it until Thursday night. So, he went in and bought another dozen, just in case, lol. We hadn't been there in a while because of COvID and I just got out of the hospital. So, we will certainly appreciate them. Used to love this place, but the reviews I saw on some of the neighborhood apps about a German roach crawling across the counter by the cash register then to add insult to injury the cashier squashed it and went on & continued to ring up the customer who witnessed this appetizer killer .... which killed my desire to eat there anymore. I have been going here for several years. Looks like a small hole-in-the-wall type business. Their breakfast tacos, served all day, are fantastic. I've tried just about every combination they have (and made my own) and they are all excellent. Tacos are on big homemade tortillas (I always get an extra tortilla) and stuffed with ingredients. The owners are very nice and polite to everyone who enters. They do have dine in available but seating is limited. Parking is also limited. Well that was a frustrating pickup experience. Ordered 2 dz brisket tamales and 2 dz jalapeno and cheese tamales for Christmas Eve pickup. I ordered via the phone and the lady repeated the correct order back to me. On pickup their notes said I wanted 2 dz spicy brisket and 1 dz bean and cheese tamales. I told them that's not what I ordered and they basically said I was out of luck since they are sold out of other flavors and to order in-person next time. I ended up leaving with none of the tamales I initiallyordered and with no apology. Very disorganized and very unprofessional. read more
