Here we are a week later and the door is in. Great crew to install the doors and then a separate employee to paint and finish the trim. Meticulous. skilled craftsmen at work. They wanted to ensure we got our money back through the bank (which we did) and have also offered to complete the job if we want to do that. While I wish we had gotten this done back when we initially went through the process, I'm impressed they followed up after all this time to make sure we are made whole.

Along the way, we also discovered that we needed to have the roof replaced, and so put that in the mix for a bid as well. We contacted six different companies, each of which brought a particular set of strengths and challenges. We chose Austin Pro based on a combination of factors: personalized attention to our project, comprehensive estimate and explanation of each line item, and ability to get the project done on a timeline that worked for us. We chose to have the house re-sided with Hardie Plank, painted with Sherwin-Williams paint, and re-shingled the roof with GAF shingles. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the process of basically re-doing the entire house, especially when insurance companies come into play. To that end, everyone at Austin Pro was first rate. Before we even settled on a contractor, Paul, our project manager, walked me through the intricacies of the process, and spent probably more time than he wanted explaining how things would go, and what options we had. The bid was competitive, and the line-by-line items on the original bid made it easy to see what was going to be done, and what materials were going to be used. He was patient and courteous and flexible, and was also able to speak to us in a way that didn't make things even more confusing. Kevin was the siding project lead, and though we never met in person, I felt comfortable that he had our best interests at heart as he got the crew on site, working fast and efficiently to remove and replace the siding. He even called in the middle of the siding job to tell us that we didn't need something we thought we would, saving us money that we could then use for add-ons we didn't originally budget for. The siding install and siding paint was done beyond our initial expectations, with nice touches like window framing and utility box framing that I didn't even know we needed but now look perfect. We had the back door repainted as well as our front balcony and pillars, and the end result is fantastic. It really was done to the point where it looks like a brand new house, and not one built in the early 1990s. Paul was back on site for the roofing job, and the roofers did a great job removing and replacing the shingles and skylight with new materials, on a roof that is exceptionally steep and challenging. They had the entire project done in only two days, and it looks fantastic. Finally, Garrett came by to do the final walk-through and punch list check-off, and was a real pleasure to interact with. He fulfilled all the items on the list, at least the ones he could do on his own, and did so in a friendly, courteous, and extremely efficient manner. All in all, Austin Pro lived up to their name and to their reputation. It is possible to find a company that can do your big jobs for less, but I am not sure you could find one that could do it better. They stand by their work with a quality assurance guarantee, and while I don't intend to need it, it's great that it's there.

Highly recommend EMC Remodeling!…read more We had wasps find a hole in our siding and make a nest. We had to rip out some of our soffit to get them out, and in doing so left a big hole that squirrels and possum started getting into. So we wanted to fix that, as well as go around the entire house and caulk up any other little holes to prevent wasps from doing it again in the future, along with keeping other bugs out. I reached out to 10+ companies/contractors and quite a few wouldn't do it because it was too small of a project. Then only 2 of 5 of them came out the day they said they would. Of those two, only EMC understood exactly what I was asking for and even found a piece of rotting wood under a window that needed to be replaced (the other company said our siding looked great and didn't need any other repairs ). And when the quotes came in EMC was significantly less expensive despite doing more work, since the other company was only repairing the soffit while EMC repaired that, caulked areas all along the house that needed caulking, and replaced that piece of wood. After I paid the bill, they got me in their schedule quickly and kept me updated on any changes as the weather caused some delays. Once here, they got everything fixed in less than a day, painted and cleaned up, and gave reccs on what else needs updating soon. Overall they were extremely knowledgeable, did great work, easy to communicate with, and reasonably priced. Will definitely come back to them if we need help on our next project.

My main point of contact was Cassie who I found to be friendly and easy to talk to. Even the guys that did the actual installs were freidnly, easy to work with and flexible with times. I had no problems in terms of customer service. However, after about a year some of the panes started fogging up, Cassie had them replaced for free under warranty. Then several more and once again they were replaced for free under warranty. As of now (2.5 years later) I have some 14 panes that are completely fogged up, unfortunately it looks like Affordable Screens and Glass has gone out of business. What sucks is I replaced a lot of panes because they were showing the initial signs of leaking (these are 20 year old panes), what I have now is significantly worse looking and did not even last 3 years.

The next day I made an appointment to go to his showroom and see what they offered. Wow!!! Talk about a selection of doors! I had no idea there were so many options. I came with a picture of the door I wanted, but after seeing the vast amount of options I decided to add somethings like Flemish glass and stain instead of paint for my wood door. It took about 3 weeks for the door to be built. The day of the installation his crew arrived on time and did a fantastic job. They took the old door out and installed the new one in just a few hours. They were nice and friendly. They took the trash with them and cleaned up. My door is absolutely beautiful!!! As soon as I figure out how I will add a photo. What a great experience!!! I've had several neighbors come over to see it and all are impressed. My next neighbor is now having an iron door built by Russel. I didn't know craftsmanship like this still existed!! I would think twice about using this company for Steel windows and doors…read more They do not have a proper paint department and use fabricators that cut corners to make more profit. Both my friend's doors and my very expensive entrance door and sidelights have a failed paint job. The paint began cracking and popping off imediately after the install. They have attempted to fix it 3 times now over the last year and a half. Every time, Russell just sends over a couple guys with rattle cans of paint and bondo. Every time they add more bondo and paint and the spray paint splatters and is done sloppy and quick. The doors look like they have been there for 20 years now, The finish is so bad! Growing up in the steel fabrication industry It was clear to me from the beginning that the steel was not properly prepared and primed before painting (these are exterior doors). If the steel is not properly prepped there is no amount of bondo and spray paint that will fix it. Now they need to be sand blasted and prepped properly to ever have a reliable finish. Now Russell won't return my calls or emails and it seems quite clear this company has no intention on making this right outside of court. They have just been making lame attempts until enough time has passed that Russell feels that he doesn't have to deal with it anymore. I've purchased steel doors from other companies for my house , installed around the same time as these doors and have had no problems with the finish. Don't use this company.
