We had a failure on a 20-year old Simonton window. Simonton support was NO HELP. Shane was the only window person in Austin who said they would try to fix it. Shane came out, and established that a spring part was misplaced. We laboriously fixed it, but then noticed that a pivot bar was broken. We ordered a new one. When it came, we realized that they sent the wrong part, and Shane suggested that we file it down to fit. We did, and it fit. This was all a MAJOR effort, and there was a little blood involved. Shane didn't come with a full understanding of these windows, but picked it up pretty quickly. I would definitely call him back with any window problems. read more

I reached out to Shane's Panes after one of my 2 story bay windows broke. I was worried that I was going to have to replace the full set. I had other contractors inspect the damage and I was given a variety of reasons why the installation would be difficult and costly. Since my house was built in the 60's, finding a window and frame that matched the original design seemed impossible.. until Shanes Panes of course. Reason #1 why I LOVE this company: - Their assessment. They made the entire process very easy. Within 15 minutes of their arrival, they were able to assess the damages and confirm that they would be able to replace the window. It was completely stress free. They didn't try to persuade me to replace the full set or give me reasons why it would likely be a costly process. Just a simple, yes or no. I felt a huge wave of relief after speaking with them Reason #2: - Their communication. I communicated mostly with Brooke through email, who not only kept me updated on every aspect relating to my order, but also responded very quickly. She notified me about absolutely everything, even small changes. From when the new window was expected to arrive, to when they were actually in route to my spot, to any unforeseen delay. I was even more impressed about how quickly she responded. If I ever had a question for them, I would get a response back within 15 mins of my email. Sometimes even after hours.
