Despite the many 5 star reviews, we had a pretty awful experience working with JP Exteriors. It started when we accepted a bid to replace our entire house with Andersen 100 windows. We signed the contract and put a deposit for half the entire amount. After we signed the contract and put in our half deposit, we were informed that 2 of our windows are arched and Andersen 100 doesn't make arched windows. They said we could replace our front of the house windows with Andersen 400 or Simonton. Simonton is supposedly a less expensive window than Andersen's 100 series. But, they quoted us a higher price to replace the front windows with Simonton than we were quoted for the same windows in Andersen 100. We ended up ordering Simonton Windows with grids for our entire house. We had already paid ($15,000) from our original contract and we were locked in with JP Exteriors. On window installation day, we noticed that there was one window at the front of the house missing a horizontal grid. They let us know that they could get us a "great price" to replace the window that we had already paid for with the proper grid. They also left several small projects unfinished including painting the trim around 2 windows, filling interiors holes around 3 windows, fixing an interior window sill that was damaged during window installation. Ultimately, the window that was missing a horizontal grid was replaced at no additional cost to us and the remaining unfinished items were all competed in a satisfactory manner. However the replaced window that was missing a horizontal grid has now been replaced and the vertical grids on the top window are not lined up with the vertical grids on the bottom windows (See photos below.) It looks terrible and is at the front of our house. We wanted to love JP Exteriors based on their 5 star reviews, but unfortunately, we have had a 1 star experience. Update: They have said that they will fix the window so that the grids line up. If this happens, that will be good. read more

Cannot say enough good things about JP Exteriors as a company as well as the windows they installed in our home. We received quotes from 3-4 reputable big name window companies and JP's price point was tens of thousands of dollars less. The entire process was top tier. Their transparency, communication, speed, product quality, and installation was outstanding. We took out some big arch windows and it was so great that JP was able to install siding to fit the new window shape. Nothing cookie cutter about them. This made the job seamless and smooth. Do not go anywhere else for windows! We have fiberglass windows with the exception of two vinyl windows (circle and arch), and they look great together even though they are different brands. This was only possible because we went with JP and they sell multiple window lines so we were able to choose what best fit our needs and budget. read more

I do not recommend JP Exteriors. They do not take responsibility for the damage they cause to your home. Before starting the project, we signed a contract where they clearly stated they would be responsible for any damages--but that turned out not to be true. During the installation, one of their subcontractors either damaged a sliding door we had them install, or said nothing about existing damage and installed it anyway. This left us with the stress and expense of replacing it ourselves. Additionally, while installing siding they damaged the drywall in multiple rooms inside my house and again refused to fix anything. This has been a very frustrating and costly experience. I highly do not recommend this company. If I could give -1 star, I would. read more

I would highly recommend JP Exteriors for any window replacement/upgrade. I was spending too much on my electricity bill and figured replacing all 19 of my windows on my home would improve efficiency. Brandon, Griffin and Oscar and others were all very thorough and professional with the entire process. JP Exteriors was great to work with. We started getting quotes on a siding project, and JP Exteriors came back with one of the more competitive quotes. They were open to negotiations when it came to the contract and were patient with me as I delayed start times and tweaked services. They were transparent about the material delivery and scheduling. When I worked with them, we were looking at about 6 week material delivery times from the date of order. I felt the quality of the services they provided, which included window replacements, new door installation, new siding, and full exterior paint was excellent. There were a few instances where we noted additional attention was needed, and our Project Coordinator (Gabe) came by to hear us out, verify the fixes, and get them done. Update 1/25/25: I got a call for JP Exteriors the day I posted my previous mediocre review. They promised to "send a crew out this week" to see about addressing the problems. That was 5 weeks ago and I haven't seen anybody from JP Exteriors. Today I bought and installed a new storm door to replace the one that was damaged when they did my siding work. I have more insight about how the work was done when I removed the old door, and it isn't great. My advice about using JP Exteriors is "proceed with caution". If the quality of work on the siding is the same as the reinstallation of the storm door, I'm in a bad spot. read more

We contracted with JP exteriors for a whole house siding project following the 2023 Round Rock hail storm / hell storm. Communication and scheduling has been smooth. The work crews are professional and efficient. The owners and project managers have been responsive and collaborative, and we were juggling the complexity of a concurrent window replacement project. When some exterior cables were not re-routed optimally, we reached out for help and the issue was fixed. The quality of the carpentry and details on the new Hardie siding is fantastic. Revised comments 10.08.2025: JP Construction installed windows on my home 5 years ago. Got a lifetime warranty on installation. But JP Construction is now JP Exteriors. Called JP Exteriors and discussed an issue I had with installation. I was not sure that the warranty would be honored. Jerry, with JP Exteriors, called me back and we had a nice conversation. He mentioned that he called Anderson Windows about my concern. With what Anderson told him, he convinced me that the installation was done properly but he did offer to address the issues which were mostly cosmetic. I recommend that anyone who is getting windows replaced consult with another installer to ensure that you have asked all the right questions and been given all the right answers before pursuing. In my case the failure to communicate was the overarching issue. I am satisfied that JP Exteriors did everything they could to help address my concern read more

UPDATE: The owner of JP called and accepted responsibility for the electrical issues and repairs and will discount the siding bill to reflect the $5953 in charges. We are paying for the whole house surge protector to bring it to code. There have been threads off and on about siding companies. We interviewed 3 and went with JP Exteriors. Some of it went well and some of it was a disaster. The salesman was knowledgeable, notifications were prompt, delivery of materials was on time but not the right items as a giant pile of OSB appeared but we were scheduled for 1" foam board, a dumpster was placed across the entire driveway but they cleaned up every day. Site supervisor introduced himself and gave me a card with cell #. Found out later the company only uses subcontractors-not employees. The crew removed the old siding and black paper then rocked / yanked our electric meter off the side of the house to put the siding on behind it. UNFORTUNATELY this caused them to short out our electric meter as one of the screws that used to hold the meter to the house fell onto the connection of the city 120V power line in the box. It not only caused shorts and outages at our house but apparently in the house behind ours. The first we knew about this was around 2am when the smoke alarm began to blast and power went on and off for hours. Finally in the morning resetting the breakers seemed to help. We contacted JP but their take was electric was not their thing. More problems through the next day and we called out both Austin Electric and Salt Electricians to diagnose and resolve the issues we were having. The crew did a really great job of putting on the siding and painting it. I wish they had done the required contact to the city of Austin to have the electric meter removed properly and reinstalled. The repairs and city meter fee amounted to over $7000 and took over 6 hours to resolve leaving us without power all that time. I am also minus 1 freezer we used for the food pantry and not sure what other electric damage was done. I would be forewarned that just yanking the electric meter off the old siding and gluing it back to the house is dangerous and costly. read more

I was debating leaving a 4 star rating due to some issues after the initial job was done, but the work was so good that I think they deserve 5. The work was done on time, everything was according to contract, and they were responsive to all my needs before I agreed to finish the payment. One negative was that communication was difficult at times, and once the job was done it took a couple months to clean up the debris and tie up the loose ends of the project. I got pretty frustrated at times, but they were responsive and professional and took care of everything. My house looks brand new, and all at a competitive price. As a follow up to my April review. After months of waiting, I finally got the windows. Poor installation left me with spray foam bulging out of the caulking (they did come out to fix that). I still am waiting for 1 window, which came (or was installed) crooked. The first replacement was the "wrong size". That was in July. Almost October now and haven't heard "boo" about the reordered window. I have had new windows installed on 3 homes now (one in MO and one in FL), this is the first time that it did not go well. If I can't even get the original order finished when there is 1/2 the $ for the purchase on hold, what chance is there of any needed warranty work being accomplished? My concerns were hardly "Covid-related supply issues", as I was told. Amazingly, two hours after posting my review, I was informed that my window came in that day! (on order since July). Lack of communication is my biggest gripe, along with so-so quality install and acceptable, but not great quality windows. The crew was fantastic and told me right away that that the estimator didn't order enough materials for the job and that more would be delivered the next day. The estimator didn't ask or know to add in some materials to bring the siding up to code until I brought it to his attention. Part of it was at my expense and I still question that cost. The crew cleaned up, was polite and the office was very responsive to any questions I had. I would use JP Exteriors again in the future. I would just question to make sure enough materials are ordered so your project is not delayed. I used JP a couple of years ago for siding, downstairs windows and gutters. They were amazing. Salesperson was great, installation, project manager. It was great service they resolved all my issues answered all my questions. I loved them enough I referred several people to them. Fast forward to March 2024 and the salesperson is new to me. (Not sure if he is new to the company.) Home visit was okay. I provided specific details on what I did NOT want. And what brands were a firm no. (Upstairs windows). He talked a lot, not needed as I reminded him a couple of times I was a previous customer. He told me I would have the quote that evening (Monday). Fine. I received the quote late that week. It was not urgent, but don't provide a timeline and then not stick to it nor give me an update. I started to question if he forgot about me. Then when I get the quote it is specifically for what I said I did not want. In addition, the cost was just a lump sum with no details. Now that the brand is wrong, the price is pretty high - there is no additional information to assure me that you got the rest of the correct. I emailed the owner and the salesperson that I was not heard and this was not what I asked for. They replied back to me with radio silence. I would recommend the old company. This new version leaves a lot to be desired- especially if customer service is important to you. read more

So, I had to get siding on the house. It's not something that I wanted to do, but it's something that needed to get done. Initial communication and estimating - anyway I pinged them in Yelp asking for a quote, they responded quickly wanting to see the place. So I scheduled an appointment. Nate was the guy that came out to give my estimate. Super nice guy. He listened and didn't try to up sell my on anything. 5 stars. Next I received a quote, I got about 4 quotes and they were on the cheaper side, not the cheapest but on the the cheaper. Anyway, the estimate was fast and easy to follow. 5 stars Scheduling was pretty fast and efficient. They were about a month out and requires 1/2 down. Obviously their actually install day largely depended on all the rain. 5 stars Communication after scheduling was not very good. For instance., I had to follow up with them asking them when they were gonna start. 2 stars on post estimate communication. More to follow. Anyway, they eventually started the work because of all the rain...long story short. They are efficient, knocked the work out and the quality of work was awesome. 6 stars. Yep, they got an extra. They did miss a few small things, but overall it exceeded my very high expectations. After the first day, they did not clean up at all. So, I send several calls and messages and after a few hours finally got a response. The next day the crew cleaned everything up. They were to do a daily cleanup, but didn't. Anyway, I did need some extra work, but because of the inconvenience they gave it to my for free. Nice! The last thing they installed was gutters. I had no clue when they did the work because it got pushed back because of the rain. They didn't update me when the work was done. I just knew they finished the work because they sent an invoice asking for the rest of the money. Anyway, cleanup and communication were a bit disappointing, but the work itself was fantastic. I'd rather have great craftsman ship with some communication issues over ok work with great communication. They did a great job explaining the process and provided a timeline with material lead time. Brandon was an excellent sales person and very knowledgeable about how the windows would be installed in the stucco, rock and concrete board. The installation was a bit longer than expected because they really took their time getting everything perfect. Oscar was on site most of the time and is a total Rockstar! It's no wonder JP has such great reviews! JP won my business after a few rounds of competing estimates for replacing original windows / sliding glass door and full exterior siding on a house built in 1983. Even during the estimate consultation process, Jon was extremely warm and personable, and JP's online portal was a step above the competition (i.e.. compared to pics of handwritten estimates, etc.). The work started and was completed on schedule. The crews were all extremely courteous and professional, taking care to keep the worksite clean every day, fixing a small repair, checking in to make sure we were happy, etc. In fact, at one point one of our cats seemed to be lost during the window construction, and we were looking everywhere to find her. The project manager, Mike was able to locate the cat, finding her hiding behind our washing machine! What a kind gesture to stop the work, and help us find our crazy cat! Everything came out looking great, and we couldn't be happier with a new exterior that finally now matches the house's remodeled interior, lol. It has now been a year.... To say the least this company/crew that did my windows were terrible. One of the window frames has cracked on the interior. And another has separated on the exterior. And these are windows that have never even been opened.... I'd pick anyone other then this company. I had them replace windows on previous homes and had no issues. But now it is clear there quality of work has severely gone down hill. After investigating it looks like they may have installed the wrong size windows and tried to cover it with trim plastic trim. read more

It's like we have a brand new home! TL; DR- JP Construction was reasonably priced, did an outstanding job, we are beyond impressed and highly recommend! We recently hired JP Construction to replace the 40 year old original siding on our house with James Hardie Siding, a new roof and re-screen/spruce up our back yard covered patio. The whole team at JP Construction deserve kudos for the quality of their work and their professionalism throughout the entire process. They exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be happier with the final product! We highly recommend JP Construction if you're needing new siding, roofing or windows! We are so very happy! When getting bids at the outset, we never once felt as though we were being upsold or pressured in any way -The owner, Jon was very matter of fact in assessing the job and laying out our different options for siding and roofing. The siding, roofing, and painting crews were conscientious in their work and gathered all construction debris at the end of each day, and the crew leaders Manuel (siding), and Lee (painting) were kind, patient, and gracious with us as we nitpicked small details and peppered them with the many questions that sprung into our minds throughout the process. Also, when it turned out that the shape of our particular roof made it impossible to install gutters along the full length we had originally planned for, Brandon kindly offered to return and install a rain chain for us at no additional charge. When performing our final walkthrough, the operations manager Mike even noticed details so small that they had entirely escaped our notice, and promised to have someone swing by and touch them up. It is in no way overstating things to say that their customer service was truly outstanding. As a young couple for whom this was our first major home renovation project, this was a huge relief. We are absolutely confident that JP Construction offered us the best value for our money. We got an extremely fair price for covering the exterior of our home in long-lasting Hardie Plank, redoing our entire roof in Owens-Corning TruDefinition Duration shingles, adding a small section of gutters along part of our roof, re-screening and replacing rotten boards on our back porch, and repainting our entire home in fun and funky Sherwin-Williams colors. Even our next-door neighbors, who had also just had a new roof installed, conceded that there was simply no comparing the workmanship and attention to detail. We recommend JP Construction to all our friends and family without reservation - after all was said and done our only regret is that we did not spring for new windows as well! I am extremely disappointed with their communication, lack of supervision and clean up. We had our siding replace after a 5+ months wait for the install. We were 100% fine to wait. After they took down of the builders poorly installed hardie board, the new boards were installed. Several cuts were off on the trim and one trim piece was chipped. I pointed this out before paint started and I was told it would be addressed. It was address by the painters with caulk because I guess filling in the gaps/chips with caulk fixed it in their eyes. There was zero supervision on the project and I had to take pictures of each issue where there was missing paint, caulk, they pushed a corner of the roof up, lifted roof flashing, slightly damaged the roof with their ladders, and then go over it with the team that came to fix it because the supervisor basically just scheduled for them to come back. If you decide to work with them just know you need to communicate with the workers because your project manager will do nothing but scrape your driveway with their trailer and schedule the workers. I reached out to the managers to share my experience and crickets. The work itself is fine, but for spending so much I had hoped for more attention to detail on their end.Be ready to look everything over closely yourself and to clean your own yard of nails, small hardie board pieces, tape balls,and old caulk strings. Our siding and painting job was recently completed and I'm happy to leave a 5 star rating. Nathan was our salesman and the initial consultation and estimate was thorough and fair. After receiving a few other bids I felt confident that I would call Nathan back to answer a few more questions. He was easy to reach and kept me updated on the expected start date. They worked with my vacation schedule so I could be here and started on the exact day we agreed on. 5 stars for Nathan Nel was the project manager and he texted me before the start day to introduce himself and give me his contact info. Nel was onsite every single day and quickly responded after hours to a few questions I had. Nel's crew worked efficiently and cleaned up the jobsite every day. We had rain one day and Nel was very cautious about leaving anything exposed to the elements. Nel was very professional and attentive. 5 stars for Nel and his crew Liberio was the paint crew project manager. Once again a very professional and hard working representative of JP Construction. He spent hours prepping and caulking the entire house. He arrived early and stayed late until the painting was completed. He reached out to me numerous times to assure we were on the same page. The paint turned out great. 5 stars for Liberio Siding and paint is a large project and a big investment. My husband and I truly had a great experience from start to finish. We had our entire house resided and painted. Of course there were some bumps along the way, which is to be expected with a large project, but every concern we brought up was immediately addressed. My husband is very picky about things being done correctly and likes to ask lots of questions, but everyone happily indulged him and never showed a hint of annoyance. (Even when we decided on another color after a whole wall was painted, oops!) My husband and I work from home and they were very respectful of that (as much as you can be with construction). All of the workers we interacted with over the week were genuinely good men. They brought up concerns to my husband, gave advice for unexpected fixes, and were even so kind to come back after they were done, a few weeks later, to fix a rotted plank of wood that was discovered by our roofers. The only real issue we had was that we had to ask the painters multiple times to fix certain things. Again, they were very understanding and willing to get it perfect but I think there is room for improvement there. We shouldn't have had to tell them multiple times/point out issues repeatedly. Otherwise, they cleaned up very well. We have a dog so I was nervous about nails/objects in the grass but we never even came across one. We have already recommended them to a neighbor. read more

While the work completed was decent (17 replaced windows + siding), we were extremely disappointed with several things - Poor communication. Zero people would communicate project start time; I'm convinced that if I hadn't reached out (multiple times) 5 days prior to when they arrived then I probably would've been surprised by contractors at my door that morning. - Sloppy install. I was left cleaning up shards of glass inside and outside my house even after asking for the crew to pick up the very obvious mess. The crew also left without retrieving a 3x3 sheet of glass on our patio roof leaned against our exterior wall which could've blown down at any time. They did come back and pick it up that evening after I reached out, but that's really not ok when animals/toddlers are present. The exterior window caulking and framing look a bit sloppy as well. All in all, I may have gotten a decent price on the project, but I'm definitely not going to be a repeat customer or referring this crew out. While the window work itself was a 3.5 start job, the fact that they left such a mess and obvious safety hazards was extremely disappointing. read more
