Performance Windows came to my home in Utah, offering what they called an "advertising discount." Their pitch was that instead of spending money on social media or TV ads, they would offer a discount to homeowners in exchange for placing a sign in their yard, monitoring their electric bill for a year, and asking them not to share the details of the deal. During the visit, the salesperson Caleb and I actually geeked out over the science of efficient windows, which I appreciated. But compared to my second estimate, Caleb never showed me how efficient their windows really were, not even a link to their brochure. Everything was on his table as a presentation. The other company let us physically feel the difference in heat transfer (or lack thereof), which was far more convincing. What I didn't expect was that Performance Windows also pulled my credit and opened a Synchrony credit card during the same visit, which felt pushy and uncomfortable. The "discount" itself turned out to be underwhelming. After conducting my own research and contacting another company, I was shocked to find a $50,000 difference (without the discount) in pricing for the same Alside windows and sliding doors. Even with their so-called advertising discount, Performance Windows was still about $12,000 higher than the competitor's quote that included installation and labor costs. This could have been a 2-star review based on the lack of transparency and weak demonstration, but the deception and pressure to close a sale left a bad taste. When I said I need to know more about his product and the bottom-line cost so I could compare with my other quotes, and specifically regarding the doors, he asked to see my quotes, of which I said, absolutely not, I want an untainted quote. He said again, "I need a Hard Yes or a Hard No". When I told him I could not answer right at that moment, without seeing anything or getting a quote, his entire demeanor changed. His face literally hardened, his brow furrowed, he stood up straighter with his chest out, nodded his head, picked up his cases and walked out the door. Ordered late March, custom build and ready early June. The installation crew, lead by Matheus were amazing. Removed 17 old windows and installed new ones in ONE-DAY (even during a slight shower, they kept going)! Came back the next day and sealed the outsides. Day 3 came and installed three sliding doors, sealed them the next day. Finally installed a three window main bedroom in one day. Great professional work. Very efficient, very tidy, vacuumed and clean up afterwards. The windows look great, clean bright finish, excellent look and feel. Noise control is good, (our street is not too bad anyway). Temperature control in this hot summer also very good. Looking forward to comparing cooling (and heating bills) as the year goes by. My another mistake was not double checking the contract. They made a mistake on which windows to make obscure, and blamed me for it, saying "that's what's on the contract." The windows are made for your house. A rep comes out and measures all your windows, and 3-1/2 weeks later they called for a date in install them. The crew comes out and 4 hours later, the old are gone, everything is cleaned up, and the new windows are installed. Done! The windows keep the suns heat out, therefore the A/C seems to run less. The new windows also reduce the street noise, our house is quieter. Our savings should show up in electric bill next month. read more

This company is employing a shady as hell tactic of offering a one in a life opportunity to have your house be one of their "marketing homes" meaning they will do all of your windows AT COST + a 30% discount on top and all you'd need to do is keep one of their promo signs on your lawn for 60 days. It sounded like complete crap but me and my wife have been shopping for new windows so I thought I might as well hear them out. This guy then shows me their window which is a vinyl Double hung window with dual pane glass that has argon in between the glass layers. It both sounded and looked like nothing mind-blowing, I've seen windows that offer all this right off the shelf at home Depot. This guy also stresses like 6 times how fancy and CUSTOM their windows are so I just ask him if they come in any other color than white and he says "oh... We can hand paint the outside of the windows after installation for an extra 25%" (wtf) I also asked him what kind of balances or satches do the windows use if they need to be replaced, I just had to replace a few on my windows and they were a pain in the ass. This is a very simple question that you'd expect a company selling themselves as a super premium company would know how to answer. Guy stares at me for a few seconds like a deer in the headlights untill I actually have to say "You know the thing that keeps the window up?" to which he replies "I have no idea but you don't need to think about that since we offer lifetime warranty" that was not what I asked but at this point I was so done which his presentation that I didn't bother to ask again. He also mentioned Renewal by Andersen like 20 times as a comparison for their price to the point of showing a quote from another client with zero context as to how many windows it was for from Andersen at 145k while their quote again with 0 context was "only" 80k. This guy pulls Andersen pricing out of thin air and starts by saying that Andersen would charge us around 80k so their windows at "only" 45k are a steal! Not only this is ridiculous it is also completely false! I have gotten quotes from a couple companies including Andersen and they wanted 37k to do all windows. This company who is claiming to offer a "AT COST DEAL WITH A 30% OFF IN TOP" Is even more expensive than Andersen who are notoriously one of the most expensive window companies to go with in AND THAT INCLUDES THEIR LABOR COSTS!
