Reviews With Photos - Performance Windows

If I could give Performance Windows zero stars, I would. As clearly shown in the photos, my door is prominently marked with three "No Soliciting" signs. Despite this, the individual ignored all of them and rang my doorbell, causing my dogs to bark loudly and disrupting my workday. I am self-employed and work from home, where I handle ongoing phone calls with patients, insurance companies, and physicians. The signage is in place specifically to prevent these types of interruptions. When I pointed out the posted signs, the individual claimed he was not selling anything, which was untrue. I asked him to leave the property, and he refused to do so until I called 911. This behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable.

Clearly visible on the door when he knocks and rings the doorbell repeatedly. Performance Windows ignores these.

This company sends people out to sell their product, but they come to the door at all hours of the day and evening, ignoring signs that could get them in serious trouble. It is a shame that they send their employees out there in this environment - so dangerous. They come every 4-6 weeks and I have 11 cameras around the exterior of my property and literally hours of evidence. My brother is APD and lives with our family. These people are so lucky he hasn't been home when they come knocking. When they see a no trespassing sign and knock and ring the bell anyway, they have committed "unlawful trespass". They must leave immediately after seeing a posted sign - Texas Penal Code 30.05 - look it up and protect yourself. It is a Class B misdemeanor, which can result in a fine of up to $2,000 and/or up to 180 days in jail. I hope if they dare come around again that my brother is home and they will find out that it's no laughing matter. I feel bad that the employees don't know this. You think they would simply Google or AI it before signing up with Performance Windows. I don't think these salespeople are ignorant, they are just trained poorly and are willing to take a risk as jobs are hard to come by these days. But to the employees - please, do something else...anything else.

Dylan from the "marketing department" rang our bell right after a long hard look at our No Soliciting sign. It's there for a reason, my husband works from home. My husband told him no several times and he kept it up, he just ended up shutting the door in his face. So not only was his day interrupted having to answer the door, he also has to get the dogs to calm down. Don't companies realize in 2025 how bad this looks? This could be the best company in Austin, but I'll never know because I'll never use them.

Oblivious to his surroundings, get looking at his phone the whole time.

As many others have posted, these dudes are aggressive or just dumb. We have a no soliciting sign posted on our door and nine times out of ten it works. One of our grandchildren stays with us on Friday and my wife made a sign for the door that explicitly explains that there is a "sleeping baby" in the house. She puts it up during naps. We also have two dogs that go bananas when someone knocks. This dude looked at both signs and then thought to himself that it was a good idea to knock on our door. Sum it up....dogs barking, baby awake and this dude stands there smiling wanting to sell me windows. I even asked him what made him knock on the door and he just gave me a "deer in the headlights look". Sheesh!

Guy came to the door and rang the doorbell ignoring our no soliciting sign. I have the flu and was waiting for a mobile doctor to come evaluate me because I'm THAT sick, so I answered the door thinking it was the doctor. Instead it's a window salesman, who refuses to stop pitching to me even after I said I have the flu and couldn't possibly understand whatever he was pitching. Nearly passed out getting back to the couch because I had saved up all my energy to get up to the door for the doctor and instead it was some a-hole who refused to leave when I asked politely and mentioned I had a contagious illness and kept me standing at the door confused trying to get rid of him.

Will absolutely never use this company because they send door to door guys all the time during working hours, ignore the many posted signs.

Along the way, we also discovered that we needed to have the roof replaced, and so put that in the mix for a bid as well. We contacted six different companies, each of which brought a particular set of strengths and challenges. We chose Austin Pro based on a combination of factors: personalized attention to our project, comprehensive estimate and explanation of each line item, and ability to get the project done on a timeline that worked for us. We chose to have the house re-sided with Hardie Plank, painted with Sherwin-Williams paint, and re-shingled the roof with GAF shingles. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the process of basically re-doing the entire house, especially when insurance companies come into play. To that end, everyone at Austin Pro was first rate. Before we even settled on a contractor, Paul, our project manager, walked me through the intricacies of the process, and spent probably more time than he wanted explaining how things would go, and what options we had. The bid was competitive, and the line-by-line items on the original bid made it easy to see what was going to be done, and what materials were going to be used. He was patient and courteous and flexible, and was also able to speak to us in a way that didn't make things even more confusing. Kevin was the siding project lead, and though we never met in person, I felt comfortable that he had our best interests at heart as he got the crew on site, working fast and efficiently to remove and replace the siding. He even called in the middle of the siding job to tell us that we didn't need something we thought we would, saving us money that we could then use for add-ons we didn't originally budget for. The siding install and siding paint was done beyond our initial expectations, with nice touches like window framing and utility box framing that I didn't even know we needed but now look perfect. We had the back door repainted as well as our front balcony and pillars, and the end result is fantastic. It really was done to the point where it looks like a brand new house, and not one built in the early 1990s. Paul was back on site for the roofing job, and the roofers did a great job removing and replacing the shingles and skylight with new materials, on a roof that is exceptionally steep and challenging. They had the entire project done in only two days, and it looks fantastic. Finally, Garrett came by to do the final walk-through and punch list check-off, and was a real pleasure to interact with. He fulfilled all the items on the list, at least the ones he could do on his own, and did so in a friendly, courteous, and extremely efficient manner. All in all, Austin Pro lived up to their name and to their reputation. It is possible to find a company that can do your big jobs for less, but I am not sure you could find one that could do it better. They stand by their work with a quality assurance guarantee, and while I don't intend to need it, it's great that it's there.

For prospective customers reading this, here is the verified context: Fraudulently advertising yourselves as a "James Hardie Elite Preferred Contractor" to secure the job, only to systemically violate the manufacturer's strict installation guidelines, is not a "punch-list" oversight--it is deceptive marketing and a material breach of contract. Puncturing an internal PVC plumbing pipe, illegally wrapping it in black duct tape, and immediately hiding it behind the new siding is not a 'punch-list' item - it is active fraudulent concealment. The 'Fraudulent' Financing: We authorized the payment because they claimed to follow actively concealed the duct-taped plumbing. Inducing a customer to authorize a loan by hiding severe damage is the legal definition of fraudulent concealment. Contradictory Public Statements & The BBB Complaint: JP Exteriors is using public platforms to feign cooperation. On our active BBB complaint, they claim they are waiting for our independent inspection report before taking action. However, their own written record proves they inspected the property themselves on June 11th and issued a superficial patching offer on June 22nd. The very next day, they explicitly stated in writing they were not willing to expand their scope to a full replacement, formally refusing to cure the hidden defects before our third-party inspection was even conducted on June 24th. The 42-page independent inspection report, which we received on June 29, definitively confirms that the widespread, concealed code violations and structural deficiencies cannot be resolved through superficial patching. The report details systemic failures, including improperly installed weather-resistant barriers, missing flashings, overdriven fasteners, damaged boards, unsealed wall penetrations, and an internal PVC plumbing pipe that was punctured by a fastener and actively concealed with black duct tape. The Manufacturer's Involvement: James Hardie is indeed involved, to the extent that the manufacturer offered to provide free replacement materials to JP Exteriors so they could execute a proper rework. JP Exteriors leadership actively refused this offer. We stand entirely by our documented evidence, our 42-page forensic inspection report, and our active fraud dispute with the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. The video proof of punctured plumbing remain on this review.

I recently had 21st Century repaint the exterior of my house. You can find that review here as…read morewell. I'm writing a new one because this is a different project. After they finished painting my house, a few weeks later after heavy rains I noticed a stain on the ceiling of a guest bedroom. I knew immediately it was the long nagging problem of the "dead valley" along my roof. The house was designed and built according to the architect's drawings to have the roof of the first floor bedroom run into the siding of the house. It was a short "run" and rainfall should go quickly into the gutters. But, this was built under a big, old oak tree and for many years, I've had leaves and twigs built up, damming up the water. If I can remember it, I have to get up on a ladder with a rake and rake the leaves away from where the shingles meet the siding. After one major hailstorm, I had the roof replaced and when they replacing it, I asked them to build something to reduce the leave/branch damming. They did build it, but apparently not big enough. It lasted probably 14-15 years until this recent Spring. Since I had a good experience with 21st Century, I called them out to give me a bid on repairing what was probably rotted trim and exposed flashing and other rot elsewhere. And while they were at it, I asked them to build me a better diverter away from the siding. They came out and took care of it in a day. The guy was there from 8:30 to 5:00, taking a break for lunch, but got it done. Since they were also the painters, they asked me for the leftover paint they left for me (for touch-up) that came in handy as they had to replace the rotten trim and as it turned out a section of the roof decking. Attached are the pictures they took for the bid and then afterwards when they were complete. They were detailed enough to ask me first, "hey, this diversion we're putting in is a lighter grey then your shingles. Are you okay with that? We can go back and get darker materials". I said that was fine. No one can see that part of the roof and so it was trivial to me. The only negative thing from the painting and the roofing experience is so minor it's not worth taking away a star is that there will be a gap between when you sign and return the contract and they contact you about scheduling the actual work. In both cases, I had to drop them a line to remind them I was in the queue. Being a service that can't work when it's raining, I can understand that they have days where scheduled work is delayed and that causes a snowball effect of delays.

Ringer finally filed the appropriate permit and completed the job about a week later. They left trash behind in my yard and damaged the Sheetrock in one of my walls around a window. When I pointed it out, the supervisor laughed at me and said, "You live in an old house!". He then suggested I could hire and pay the cousin of one of their installation guys to repair the damage they left. Mold: In 2024, my blood pressure skyrocketed for no apparent reason. While I was dealing with that medically and trying to figure out the source, I found a tiny mushroom growing inside above the window where they damaged the Sheetrock. That triggered me to get mold testing done and there was mold growing in the wall behind the cracked Sheetrock above and below one of the windows they installed. They had not caulked externally above or to the side of that window, nor the window above it (2 story house). I grew sicker and sicker from the mold until I could have it remediated and then had to have reconstruction done because they had to tear the Sheetrock and insulation out and was down to the studs in my living room. It cost me nearly $8,000 to get it corrected. Greg Ringer: The windows were still under warranty, of course. I had guys out from Ringer Windows to show them the missing caulk, cracked Sheetrock and suspected mold (before the mold was removed). I sent Greg Ringer a demand letter for the cost with pictures of the mold, mold testing reports and all the invoices and he only offered to pay about .30 cents on the dollar for my damage and his lawyer tried to make me sign an agreement not tell anyone or they wouldn't pay me. I finally had to take him to small claims court and prevailed. The court made him reimburse me fully for the damage.
