Today we had one tree cut down, numerous ones limbed and thinned including removing limbs from around phone lines. The crew wore safety gear and worked as a team with great communication. These guy's seemed to care about one thing; How fast they could get done. They trashed my yard. 12 inch deep ruts from the tires. Tossed the pieces of the large tree onto the ground making huge dents and ruining the grass. I told them when they got there that part of the lawn was new sod (it was obvious where) and left a huge pile of cut wood on top of it. When my boyfriend called to see about getting it fixed, they said they had no lawn maintenance contract with us. I would think that you would fix what you ruined, that's good business. read more

Horrible experience with this company! Do not use them! Had them booked to do a tree topping job. Took them 3 weeks to come do the job and then today when they were supposed to be out here they never showed up. After I made 3 phone calls, someone finally got back to me and said they were not coming out today because their other job was taking too long. This was completely unacceptable because I had re-arranged my work schedule to be home during this time and we had 2 other neighbors who were involved and affected by this and had re-arranged their schedules. Best Tree said they could not come do the job for another whole week-completely unapologetic and not willing to remedy the situation. Definitely not the "BEST" out there-go with another company-this was not a small job-over $1,000 dollars but maybe that's chump change to them, not to me! read more

Best tree came out to remove 2 trees from our property. One was an easier removal and the other was a little more complicated. They were on time, professional and very knowledgeable. Because one of the trees split our property line with our neighbor they even billed us (1/2 each) separately for the troublesome double alder. Didn't do a thorough job. Didn't reply when contacted to complete job. When they finally returned he insisted more of the tree had died and thus charged my 89 year old mother more to do the job she'd already paid them to do, but they hadn't completed. She asked them to remove a shoot of a holly tree, it grew back. Only then did my mother realize the small print read, "an additional charge for removal of roots." Although no one thought to inform her of this prior to the job. Way to go Best Tree Service, swindling a fixed-income 89 year old woman. read more

We had Todd and Jim come out and give us a quote on tree trimming and having several trees removed. They gave us a quote while they were on site and scheduled to do the work promptly. They were right on time and did an amazing job. They even trimmed an additional tree that I had forgotten to mention on the day of the quote. The entire crew was phenomenal, they cleaned up all the debris (and it was a lot), left me chips as I had requested and large pieces for firewood. I highly recommend them. It was a big job that took most of the day and it looks just terrific. Jim was on site for a good portion of the day to oversee the job. I highly recommend this team. read more

Best Tree Service recently trimmed two large trees for us. Came promptly for estimate (that I thought fair); did the work on the day promised; and left the yard and trees in immaculate shape. Btw, this is the second time I've used this company and was exceedingly pleased both times. A 50' tree fell on our waterfront and I hired Best Tree Service to remove it. A big mistake -- I hire many contractors and have never had such terrible customer service! On the day that they took the tree down, the workers came to my door looking dazed and confused about what to do. They had not gotten any instructions which made me uneasy. When I attempted to contact the guy who gave me the estimate, he was not reachable for the entire day! I am the one who had to go down there with them, to the tree, and tell them what to do --- completely unacceptable. In the end, I was happy with the tree removal except that they left a tall pile of roots and dirt where the tree had come down. I knew that the stump would not be removed but I did not know that they were going to leave the roots and dirt - this, in my opinion, is part of the tree! I called to discuss my unhappiness about this and someone stopped by to look at it. He gave me a bill to remove it, on top of the initial bill. I was upset, to say the least, and told him that this was terrible service...that he should have told me that the roots/dirt would not be removed in my initial consultation. I reluctantly signed the second estimate and was told that the root work would be done the last week of December when we were out of town. When we got back, I went down to look at the work and the pile looked like it hadn't been touched. Again, it was difficult to get in touch with my contact. When I finally got ahold of him on his cell phone, he said that a guy "had worked on it for three hours." Even if someone did reduce the dirt/root pile, the end result was not what I expected which was to lower it closer to the ground. I sent them a long email about all my complaints and, of course, never heard back. I told them that it was too bad that they lost all future business, on my acre of trees, over such bad customer service. read more

I've used Best Tree Service several times and I did not have the same experience as the other reviewer. We live on a slope with many evergreens and maples around, and some previously in very precarious positions. They have taken down the trees we needed without a scratch to the house and left no debris (branches behind). It does not cost extra to have the limbs/wood removed like it does with other companies. They took great care and I would highly recommend! Also, their pricing was very fair. I received another bid from another company and the cost was much higher from the other company. read more
