I seriously can't say enough good things about Juan Aguayo and all the people he has working for him. He's exactly what you want in a landscaper. His crews can handle every type of project--all the cleaning and maintenance, everything to do with adding plants and hardscaping. They show up on time, they're easy to talk to, and they pay attention to detail. Their prices are always competitive with other bids. We originally contacted them to replace a busted old gate in our carport. It was a builder-grade gate, made with off-the-shelf materials from one of the big-box hardware stores. It was at the back of the carport, and we didn't look at it or think about it much. The previous owner installed it years ago, and eventually time and weather wore it out. For a competitive price, Juan and his crew replaced it with a far-better gate that matches the rest of the fence, latches from behind, and generally makes that whole back corner of the driveway/turnaround look way nicer than it used to. Once it's ready for stain, it will look even better. I hadn't even thought about how much nicer that gate could be, and thanks to them building it from scratch, they seriously upgraded us. When he was bidding the gate, he mentioned that his company offers regular yard maintenance, among many other things. We took bids for maintenance, plus half a dozen little projects looming around the yard. His yard-service/maintenance crews have already been out three times, doing everything our last yard guys were doing, for $20 less per month. They take their time every time, do a better job than the previous crew, and always latch the gates when they leave. They mow, rake, tidy, and take care of every bit of cosmetic maintenance. They're totally open to small requests and couldn't be easier to work with. We still aren't ready for the more-expensive projects they bid, but they have come out to clean up one bare bed, plant it, and mulch it. They also pulled out a laurel that was choking out a rhodie in our driveway, and starting to encroach across the drive, too. For these special projects, Juan is often on-site himself, running the crew and making sure everything is just right. Combined with bidding other new projects himself, he puts in some long days sometimes. He's just the kind of guy you want to support. They're always out within a few days of contacting them, and everything always looks 100% finished and perfectly clean and tidy when they're done. It's getting to the point where having them finish something and make our yard look better is as much a treat for us as anything else we might go do. I can't wait to have them tackle a couple of the bigger beautification projects around here next year. read more

I hate having to write this review, but I personally rely on honest reviews from actual customers when making decisions about who to do business with, so I must. I cannot recommend Aguayo, for primarily two reasons: (1) Didn't hornor the contract for the work (2) Expensive Juan came to inspect and wrote a contract for fixing the fence with three new posts, ten to twelve 2x4 and ten fence boards for $1800 for my rental property. After 6 months, I visited the property and found that he only replaced seven 2x4 (instead of ten to twelve) and and three boards (instead of ten). Asked him to come take a look and it was good that he did come but refuse to honor the contract. So for $1800 for three posts, seven 2x4 and three boards. You be the judge! 8 weeks ago I spent $1400 get my back lawn reseeded. I kept both of my dogs off of it for 8 weeks and watered religiously as directed. However the lawn looks awful, basically there's grass where it already existed and nothing more. I asked Juan to rectify this and he said he would but since then he has NOT responded to my emails for 9 days (previously always responded same day) to schedule a time to fix it. I'm so disappointed to be let down by them. My yard looks terrible. As a female homeowner I feel like I was taken advantage of. I guess at this point I will be taking care of it myself. **in response to your comment 1) you said you would come redo the seeding and I see you have still not tried to rectify that. 2) lots of people have dogs and successfully have their lawns overseeded. As I stated my dogs did not go to the bathroom on the lawn for 8 weeks and it still looks like this. I only have 2 dogs, not an entire pack. Even when they did use the lawn the only pee in the edge where there is ironically lots of grass and always has been. 3) Interesting that you respond to my review within an hour of posting it but eight days later still haven't responded to my email. 4) I find this completely inadequate response to be almost worse than the terrible work you did. read more

Juan is a true landscaping professional. We have a sloped yard and wanted to put in a paver patio as well as a path connecting to the yard. Juan was able to work with us and scope out the project, which included putting in a retaining wall. He was also flexible with adding an additional work order that we tacked on for stripping off old soil and mulch around the yard and replacing it with rocks. Juan and his crew were very respectful of the property and worked tirelessly to complete the project.
