When you come here, I recommend being prepared with knowing what you need. I just came in looking for a laptop charger. There's no greeting when you walk in and nobody asked me if they could point me in the right direction even as I was standing around with my own laptop like a deer in the headlights for a solid 3 minutes. I eventually found it myself when I walked to the laptop section in the back and this girl who looks about 22 (with straight, center part black hair. Wish I'd caught her name) looks at me and says, "you just trying to check out or something?" No smile. Nadda. I'm like, "uhh, no I just found this laptop charger and I'd like to plug it in to see if it works." This chick looks at me like I just asked her to lick the floor. She opens the package and tests a few of them, and is like "yea our chargers won't work for this." I have a pretty standard laptop. I was like "huh, that's weird..." No response. No "let's check over here and see if any other ones might be available." Nothing. Just this "sorry not sorry, leave me alone" attitude. I walked back over to the charger section and grab another one, opened it myself and found an adapter that works. I walk back over to the desk to check out and the same girl is working on some return or something and doesn't acknowledge me even if there was nobody else checking out. I say, "yea looks like you're returning something so I guess I'll go to the front." Again, no acknowledgment. Just gives me this glare like I was able to inconvenience her again. I remember Best Buy when I was growing up and people who worked there were typically very professional and friendly. I'm giving this a three star because the women at checkout were nice and I was able to get what I needed. Then again they were a little older. Yet another example of why Gen Z being terrible at customer service and acting like they'd basically be anywhere else. Had I known I'd have to deal with her I would have just started opening packages by myself to not "inconvenience" her for having to do her job. read more

They always seem to have pretty much everything you need. Compared to the arrowhead store I always seem to be routed over here. The greeter at the door seems to be overly friendly and even though you are in a call will still kinda holler at you to make sure he was heard. Super annoying. The fact they have an armed guard here who is every time I've been here just on his phone swiping and not actually doing guarding is an interesting thing as well. Prices are ehhh Inventory is the better of the north west PHX/Glendale area ones. A lot of homeless and pan handlers in the parking lot and depending where you park watch your step you might find a used needle or two. read more

I ordered about $2K worth of Sonos gear online for in store pickup. They only had one cashier working with 3 employees visiting at the front of the store. [See photo]. It took me 15 minutes to pick up my order as the people in front of me had 3 complex transactions in a row and had tons of questions that stalled the cashier. When another employee wandered to the front of the store from the cell phone area I asked if he could grab my online order. He was able to get my order and then walked away without offering to help me carry the large boxes to my car. This is the reason that Amazon is smoking large box retailers with employees that don't care about customers. I won't be shopping this Best Buy on Thunderbird anymore. read more

Worst customer service experience ever. I purchased a new stereo and backup camera for my Jeep, had Best Buy install it, and even bought the extended warranty. The radio started shorting out my Jeep's system, so I called to schedule a repair. Instead of help, I got bounced around offshore customer service reps who clearly had no clue what the warranty actually covered. They told me I needed to bring the radio into the store. When I asked how I was supposed to do that since it was installed in my vehicle, their "solution" was that I pay someone to uninstall it or pay them extra to do it. I knew that wasn't right so after reading my contract over carefully - I saw that they were completely wrong. I called back and got the same guy who tried to tell me the same thing. I read him word for word what the guarantee said - he had no clue - and finally tried to connect me to the installation department of the store and I got their voice mail. I asked for a direct number to contact them and he couldn't find one. 2 days later and of course no call back. I tried again today and I got the same offshore loop. I again asked for a direct number to the store and they kept trying to give me the number I had just called that connected me to them. At one point they even tried to give me an out of state number! When I searched online for a local store phone number, all I found was a message telling me that I would need to drive to the store just to speak to someone at the store - which is a 45 minute drive. So let me get this straight: Best Buy can install products into my car, take my money for a warranty, but when it breaks, I have to waste hours on the phone, chase fake numbers, and then drive nearly an hour just to schedule an appointment? That is absolutely unacceptable. No wonder Best Buy is closing stores - if this is what customer service looks like, it's not hard to figure out why. read more

The customer service from the store to installation to the "customer service" line is the worst of any I have experienced with any retailer in years. They sent me home without the USB cable that is required to make it work. They kept the one that I gave them with my trade in printer. It will be difficult for me to take it back or go get the cable. Brought a new TV and Sound Bar at the store on Camelback. Scheduled a install with the Geek Squad and got a quote from them to move a TV and set up the sound bar. I was very clear that I had a new and old sound system and that the old TV needed to be moved and hooked up as well. Phone agent asked if they were wall mounted and I said no. He quoted me a price of 200.00 and I reconfirmed that it was for both TVs and sound systems he said yes. Andy with the Geek Squad show up a week later on the eve of July 4th and I said hello and he wouldn't even shake my hand. I guess he had holiday plans. He told me right away that since there were 2 TVs and a sound system it would be and additional 250.00 for the work . A total of 450.00. I said that was not what I was quoted. He said unless I paid he would not do the work I told them to leave and I returned the TV and sound Bar. Got both a lot cheaper at Costco and 30.00 for the install. No wonder why Best Buy is not doing so well. Canceled my membership as well I don't think I will be using it in the future. read more

Geek Squad is a masterful example of obfuscation. They require reservations to drop off or pick up a device for repair. There is never anyone there. Employees outnumber customers 10:1. The processes, especially on the phone, are really LABORIOUS. Dealing with them is TEDIOUS. If you call the local store number you are routed somewhere far away (Asia). The call takes 15 minutes. Then they try to schedule you for a pickup tomorrow, even though you've just gotten a text saying you're device or ready for pickup today. Said they couldn't do that because they were running late for next delivery. Left it sitting in a hallway and said someone would call to have someone come back to take care of that. Next day no call! Best Buy isn't a bad store. I bought an Insignia TV here and I love it, even 4 years later. My complaint is with the company policy of charging a restocking fee of $45 for returns. I bought a Samsung watch the other day and returned it the next day. My receipt let me know I was charged $45 for returning a $319 item. I understand it's only right to pay for restocking but seriously, is there not a more fair amount than 1/7 of the purchase price? Im afraid I'll have to shop elsewhere from now on instead of risking another 45 dollar mistake. A fee is fine, but this one is too hefty for me. Adios read more

We bought a KitchenAid refrigerator from Best Buy less than 2 years ago. The ice maker quit working, and we called Best Buy. They had technicians come out at least 5 times, and the ice maker was replaced. They scratched our hardwood floors on the first visit. After many new ice makers, they replaced the motherboard. Now ice maker leaks water continuously, causing more damage to our floor. At this point, Best Buy is putting the onus on us to reach out to KitchenAid. They told us that the icemaker is a cosmetic feature of the refrigerator and not part of their warranty. This has been ongoing since May!!! Everyone has been nice, but that only goes so far when your floor is gouged, no ice for the summer and now constant water damage. Don't buy from a company that doesn't take care of their customers. Shame on Best Buy. More like Worst Buy!! read more

I went to this store to purchase a computer. I spent 10 minutes waiting for some help, I got none. So I grabbed the box for the computer I wanted and a monitor. I walked to the checkout area where there were 2 people behind the counter. They begin to point at each other saying the other would check me out. Had a great experience walking in. Greeted first thing by the employees. The store was easy to maneuver. It was bright, clean and organized. We found our way quickly to the tablets with a plethora of options (Samsung, HP, Microsoft, Apple etc) of course all were in their respective section per brand. Jonathon was eager to help us with his associate Cody. We found the Microsoft Go Tablet with their assistance and were given the low down. We had previously done a little research online and in store at Frys Electronics - which we had mentioned to them and they had no problem price matching. My very last visit to Best Buy as they've gotten progressively worse over the past two years and the managers could care less about customer satisfaction. I've spent approximately $1500 there the past month purchasing a computer and a TV. We didn't get the computer hooked up until 3 weeks after we bought it. We had it professionally set up and it immediately didn't work. So I packed it up and took it back to the store. I was prepared to return it and buy a more expensive one--- I was not asking for my money back! They said "no"..... they have a 14 day return policy and tough luck. I said but I'm prepared to spend more money on a different model and the manager was just annoyed with me. I know it's not her policy but she could've been a bit more sympathetic but could not have cared less. One of the clerks gave me the manufacturer's number. I tried calling it and it was the wrong number! I looked it up and found the correct number. They were very nice andI'm sending it to them. They also told me that they are considering dropping Best Buy because they receive so many customer complaints. I regret not buying it at Costco. read more
