I bought an Alpine dashboard screen to replace the factory screen in my MB sprinter van. I bought it from Best Buy online, and after calling BB's 1-800 number to schedule the installation (which was not without it's own inefficiencies) I choose this Best Buy because it had the soonest available appointment. Within the hour of scheduling the appointment, I got a call from the tech because he needed more information about my van. Despite the pain it was to schedule the appointment, I was impressed by his quick response. It turned out he needed additional parts for my installation that he didn't have in stock. He would buy them on my behalf and quoted me a price. I was expecting this, so it wasn't a surprise. We rescheduled for the following week. On the day of the appointment, 10 minutes before it was scheduled and as I'm driving there, he calls me to say that one of the parts he ordered for my service hadn't arrived. He mumbled something about "meaning to contact me sooner" and not "realizing today was a holiday" (it was Columbus Day). I guess he was willing to roll the dice and see if the part miraculously showed up before my appointment, which was for 10a, when BB opens. Holiday or not, this is BS. I had planned my whole day around getting this done, and if a part hadn't arrived, I expect to be told on say, Saturday for a Monday appointment. Calling ten minutes before my appointment is unacceptable, especially now with the technology we have for package tracking. We left it that he would call me when the part was in and we would schedule the install then. That was a month ago and no phone call. Which I don't understand, because he had to buy these parts for me, you would think getting reimbursed by the customer would be a priority. Guess not. Turns out this was a blessing in disguise because I ended up getting the installation done at a place much closer to me, East Side Motoring. They know their stuff. I got a bunch of other stuff installed there too, some of which I asked the BB tech about when rescheduling the initial appointment, but the way he responded didn't instill confidence that it would actually get done. I was going to buy the BB $200/yr unlimited installations plan, where BB will install things for you in your home/car even if you didn't buy the items from BB. So glad I didn't. I would rather pay a little more for peace of mind that I'm not going to get jerked around. read more

The WORST customer service...actually there NO customer service. As a tech person I know more than half of their employees, in fact almost helped out a customer that was getting smoke blown up his @$$ from an employee that had no clue was he was saying. However, I did not, to not embarrass him. He immediately pointed the customer to an open box item and not the item they were asking for. The best part was when I asked that same employee for help and he immediately said, "No I can't help, I have 3 other people before you." They need new management...its starts with getting new blood in there that will shake things up and put things in order. read more

I use Best Buy all the time to buy brand new stuff like computers and pretty much any technological stuff and they are great!!! The ideal way to buy stuff is order it on line and then go over to pick it up. I bought a used iPhone 7 from them for $212. It says the phone works on T Mobile , has 128 gig of memory, I thought it sounded great! I got it and put my sim card in and it doesn't work. I got my daughter's boyfriend to try it and he can't get it to work, I took it to T Mobile and they tried it and said " Nope it doesn't work" So I bring it back to Best Buy and the woman says " You have to pay a $45 restocking fee. So we get the manager and he goes through the whole process of putting my sim card in the iPhone and of course it doesn't work so finally they give me a full refund but the moral of this story is " don't buy refurbished iPhones from Best Buy or at least be ready to go through a whole process to get a full refund. read more

I love this Best Buy!!!!! We ordered our new washer and dryer through this Best Buy and the young man who helped us, Malik, was so patient with us and answered all of our questions! We were really hesitant ordering and purchasing a completely new set over the phone but it could not have been more of a smoother process. Malik answered all of our questions and went above and beyond in making sure that we had all the necessary parts for our new appliances and made sure to schedule a delivery day where Best Buy also took care of installing our washer and dryer and taking out our old ones. I left this place very indifferent: The staff was super helpful. I was explained the advantages of buying a portable external harddrive vs non-portable (the portable charges off of USB, so they use two USB drives. Also, a power surge can fry the harddrive, where that won't happen with a non-portable). I also got some great well balanced, non-sales pitched, info about the iPod Touch. When I would ask questions, I usually ended up getting feed back from all the employees around them. So.. that part was awesome. The huge downside was that while everyone was out helping customers, the store was not faced well at all. The Harddrives were mixed up under the wrong prices. It took me three trips to the rather un-impressive cashier before I found the one for the price that was listed. I understand it can be confusing that there are two prices for Maxtor 320gb harddrives... but that is why its important to have them in the right place. In retro-spect, I should have demanded the 119 price for 150 dollar drive, since I did watch the employee place the Harddrives in the wrong place. It should not be the customers place to be checking serial numbers before making a purchase. :P Since everyone was helpful and friendly, I really just wasted 20 minutes, but didn't leave in a bad mood. read more

I brought my TV that hadn't been fixed in Dorchester to this store. It was worse than when I had originally brought it to Best Buy. The SUPER rude teenage Geek Squad member had just royally pissed off the two people in front of me, then continued to be rude to me and explain that they had to send my tv out again for ANOTHER service visit before they could replace it. They finally let me speak with a manager who was super nice but really didn't tell me anything different than oh we'll send it out. After three days out again (plus a weekend), they agreed they couldn't fix it and would give us a new tv. Unfortunately, we couldn't make it to that store before close and couldn't go to any other store because of the open sales ticket... Wtf? You are all Best Buy, you should all kind of work together. I understand going to same store but I live near one and work near another. I wish they "put customer service first" like their taunting signs. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Went down from Stoneham to Everett because of the better price. I was told my 75 inch TV was new but they sold me a open box 75 in TV for price of new. Brought the tv home opened the box no remote electrical cord or directions. The bottom of the box was retapped. I asked are you sure this is new before I left the store they told me yes. They told me the bottom was coming undone a bit so they added tape. That was BS. Brought it back got my credit and got out of there as fast as I could. No apology from customer service or management. The best buy in Everett ma is single handedly the worst shopping experience a consumer could have. I went to buy a new flat screen t.v. and happily decided on a 2500.00 plasma 3d hdtv. I also got the 500.00 warranty. I arranged my delivery and left the store feeling good. This is were the sunshine ends and the thunderstorm rolls in. I bought the t.v in september 2010 and set up delivery for october 2010 as to the fact that the t.v was backordered, no big deal. I have always been somewhat of a disbeliever in things working out the way it should so 1 week prior to delivery I called to ensure things would work out as planned and was re-assured by the home theather manager that all was good. So needless to say that come my delivery day no one shows up by the time I was told they would be. I called best buy only to find that my order had been cancelled without my approval or consent. I had to fight with best buy and finally drive to the store I purchased it at to find out it was sitting in the back room with no plans of being brought to my house. I had to load it into my truck and demand that the people of the home theather come to my house with me then and there to set it up as it was originally agreed upon. to "Make things right" they offered me a severely discounted rate on calibration for the t.v and a discount on a premium surge protector. I set up the day for the calibration and left not happy but not so mad either. Well it gets better ladies and gentlemen. Again not having faith in the best buy system I call to ensure things will go smoothly for the calibration and am again re-assured all is well. Guess what?! no one shows. I had to fight again to re-scedule this stupid service and had so much bull crap slung at me in the form of fake appologies and lies that I swore I would never shop at best buy again. If you value your hard earned dollar shop anywhere other than best buy. They are liars and crooks that mark up the products so high it isnt worth shopping there to begin with. read more

This place has terrible customer service and knowledge is their products. I went in to buy a few things. I stood in front of three helpers for a while as they chatted about whatever it is they chat about. After a couple of minutes of standing in front of the desk one said can I help you. I asked questions about some products. Was told one would work perfectly fine with what I already had and it would adapt without a problem. Not true. I'm trying to adapt it I broke a almost brand new iPhone. She was so confident but obviously had no clue what she was talking about. The first time I came to this store was the week after Thanksgiving. Allot of stuff was gone but I felt since I was looking for a camcorder that the produtct would work . At leats the samples on display. All of the samples except for the cheap ones were working. So I said ok my fault . I cam right around Black Friday, I will come back and check again. So today 12/12/09 I did come back. To my surprise none of the demos models work again and one I will not metniton the name was hot so hot that the cover was melted on the side. I went to Best Buy to get a wireless modem router for my new apartment. I did the math and found it to be cheaper than renting one, even when purchasing the more expensive model. I called ahead to make sure they had what I needed in the store, and the woman that answered the phone immediately gave me a few options in a different price ranges, and said they are always in stock. When I stopped in, Miguel helped me to pick out the right one, and thankfully asked if I needed help because I almost purchased the wrong model. He spent a few minutes explaining the pros and cons of each option, and gave some helpful tips about how to use it efficiently. Thanks again for your help! read more

Hate Best Buy. The Saugus location is the worst. You can wait for hours looking for someone to help you and they won't even look at you. When you finally get someone's attention, they tell you "We have whatever is out on the floor" - meaning, "I'm too lazy to do my job and actually help you find something, so look for it yourself!". I had an awful experience with the Cambridge Galleria location a few years ago - they told me they couldn't find any record on a computer I bought from them with extended warranty. The monitor needed to be replaced and after weeks of arguing with them, they finally said they'd honor the warranty but sent me the wrong monitor 3 times! I don't buy things from there anymore - if by some miracle, they have a better price, I go to another store and ask them to match the Best Buy price. Hate Best Buy!!! read more

1) On 6/17/17, I ordered 30" W GE Gas stove at Best Buy in Everett, MA. Total cost $530.28 charged to MasterCard ending # xxxx. Delivery scheduled for 6/22/17 between 8am - 12 noon at South Boston, MA 02127. Deliveryman to call 30 minutes before arrival. 2) On 6/22/17 at 10:15am, I received call from deliveryman that he was 10 minutes away. I informed that I would meet him in 15-20 minutes and he said OK. 3) On 6/22/17 at 10:30am I arrived to receive delivery. When I didn't see Delivery truck I called and driver informed me that "he couldn't wait and went on to his next delivery". 4) This is completely unacceptable and I doubt driver ever went to my delivery address at all. 5) I immediately went to Best Buy in Everett MA to report incident and cancel order. The store manager was extremely rude and unhelpful. He offered no apology or explanation and refused to give me a refund on order. 6) I own and operate apartment buildings around Boston AND WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH BEST BUY AGAIN and you shouldn't either. Do not buy appliances from Best buy. They hire a 3rd party vendor that is very incompetent in delivering, probably paying minimum that will do poor service to you. If they think they have to put extra effort to bring it up, they will give you all kinds of excuses to delay delivery. They will come another day. Even if they deliver, they will make all scratches on your new appliances, nick your walls on the house. When you ask for a new one, they will still put it up and tell you to call best buy to get a new one. and when you call best buy, manager will lie to you that you escalation team will contact you in a couple hours. No one ever will contact you ever again and get run around. Bottom line, even if you have a little bit extra, buy it from local vendor that has reputation in delivering appliance safely to your house and be responsible for it. I read online that in this appliance business, the most difficult part is finding good delivery team and keep them on their staff with good salary. Best buy fails in this aspect. read more

The manager here is not helpful. It seems he enjoys the title and being in a position of power more than he does doing his job- which essentially is to make sure the customer leaves happy. This Best Buy is running a scam. They sell faulty televisions, don't honor their guaranteed time frame of repair service, nor the geek squad policies. There is a lack of follow up and communication and no intent to provide paying customers a solution. My partner and I were even shorted a dollar in our refund, which we had to fight and advocate for. This is the worst store I have ever been to. I went in looking to get some information about a tablet I was looking to buy. The associate I spoke with, John was very rude. He was making fun of me for asking questions regarding a tablet I wanted to buy. The one I wanted was not in stock so I continued to ask him about some other options. He then got on the radio and said 'he is looking for computers to now' as if he thought I was was an idiot. I ended up walking out of store because John was very insulting towards me. I will not be returning to this location because I refuse to be treated like that as a customer. If I were you, I would avoid this location at all costs because the customer service here is no where to be found. The staff at this location in general are rude but John is the worst associate that I have ever interacted with. He should be ashamed of himself for treating a customer like this. This store should be avoided because if you have any questions regarding a particular item you want to buy, You likely will be insulted for asking a simple question about an item you are interested in purchasing. Best buy has become to sales driven for me. I couldn't even browse an isle without an associate asking me if I needed help and when I had a question about a product it was time for reposition and upscale. If there's a better product I willing to listen but when we're talking about $20 more rca cords that only have to go 10ft you're just being stupid. 2nd, most of their products are outdated. The newest GPU they had on the shelf was a GTX1060, and most everything else they was dated and overpriced. I still try to like brick and mortar stores but to me this is a failure to read the target audience and to try and force sales over delivering quality products people want. read more

So today I went back to Best Buy to speak to a customer service representative who on his behalf I must state he did his best to remedy what I now inturn refer to as "GEEKS GONE WILD EPISODE" After I had sent a letter to the regional home office of Best Buy, this associate phoned me and asked me to come back into the store with my receipt of the deposit of $300.00 for a repair I was estimated at as $127.some change. Again, I still dont quite understand how this all happened...regardless to say, he refunded me the difference of my over payment after I assured him that what had transpired was again illegal and quoting someone an estimate then charging them more for a service without them being informed is a NO GO~! Plus I added he may want to speak to the staff on duty the night I bellied up to the counter to pick up my system. I bought ipad mini retina last week and the price dropped this week so I went back to get the money back. After about 10-15 mins of waiting the manager "Tony" told me they can't give the money back as I had already used the student discount on it. I told him I would use my student discount on the dropped price but he wasn't helpful at all. I went to Best Buy @ Saugus Square One Mall and got my money back. I decided to see if they had any USB hubs that may suit my purpose and I found the USB extention chord I was looking for. It was $20 which is ridiculous but what are you going to do? I left the phone on the speaker at my desk in the office, went to the bank, got into a long line of about 6 people, came back to the office and I was still on HOLD!!! I only had a simple question about a payment and I can't believe I had to go through all this trouble. 30 minutes is LIGHT WAIT if you ever want to talk to an associate there. This review is for the new system they put in place since Covid shut everything down. I stop in to Everett to make an appointment with Geek Squad. The Door Personnel ask me why I am there. They then ask me when they are not satisfied with my answer, why I want to see Geek Squad. Ah...none of your business...is what I want to say. I tell them, then they proceed to walk me over to the desk. I don't NEED you help, I said, they would have none of it. They demanded that they walk me to the desk. This is an invasion of my privacy. Kind of like BIG BROTHER! It is none of their business why I want to go to the Geek Squad desk. I would take my business elsewhere if I hadn't already paid for tech support for a year. The Geek Squad agents DO know what they're talking about at this location, and there are a few quality employees (like Kevin K., Joe M., DJ D., Tom L., Jason J., and a few others). But their policies include some very shady business practices. First, they will run soft credit checks on your card for various purposes, primarily if you're applying for a Best Buy credit card, but not exclusively. Soft credit checks will lower your credit rating, and if you shop there frequently, your credit rating will plunge. The Protection Plans, while a good idea for physical damage, do not live up to the hype. They will replace your product with a used/refurbished one. While this means that it will have been tested several times by Geek Squad to make sure it's working, it might also mean you're getting a scratched up model when they send it in. For battery replacements, they don't send original batteries, they send off-brand batteries that have a reported lower battery life. Like trading down from Duracell to Ray-o-Vac. Might fit and "work", but it's hit-or-miss whether it'll be the same quality (battery life and longevity). Time will tell, but this certainly doesn't fit with the "like kind and quality" replacement policy in the protection plans. If that happened at a mechanic's shop, where they tried to put in third-party used replacement parts instead of manufacturer, new parts, people would be furious. And the phrase "you have no other choice" really shouldn't be part of a contractual obligation. They're cutting corners, and we're paying for it. Overall, this Best Buy is good for some things. But if you can avoid it, go somewhere else. read more

I bought a tv that had a cracked screen when I took it out of the box. I went back to exchange the tv the same day, only to be told that they couldn't take the tv back. Everyone at the store was incredibly rude and unhelpful and seemed to think it was perfectly acceptable to sell people broken products. The managers were also all in a meeting and the employees "had no idea" when they would be available. Only after calling the manufacturer and having them argue with the best buy employees was i finally able to receive a working tv. Bought my first washer and dryer there a few weeks ago and unfortunately I didn't notice the dryer but I was ordering was electric and I needed gas. The delivery was on time and the drivers were very courteous and offered good advice about how to handle the mix up. After waiting for 24 hours I went to the store to change the order which was complicated because I used the Bestbuy special financing card to pay for my purchase and simply changing my order for the gas version of the dryer was not possible. The customer service person who helped me out, Luis, was excellent and he worked out everything quickly and to my satisfaction. read more
