If anyone knows where Egan is you'll also know there's nothing out here. So if you go to Best Burger Barn you've either driven a ways or you have very little other options worth driving into another town to get. BBB is a great place to eat, however, I have been in bed sick a few days and suddenly at 815 pm last night I get hungry and BBB is all I can think of when I want a good burger. I check the site and on FB and since they close at 9pm I got in my car and drive over, pull up to window at 848pm. Open lights are all on, place has several people still inside since it's a Friday night I assume. Lady opens drive thru window and says, "Unfortunately, we are closed." I was taken aback so I assume she read my face and added, "We turn the grills off at 845pm." Ok...? So post you close at 845pm then! I'm looking around at nothing but dark so I pull over and check DoorDash and GrubHub to see what's still available now that I wasted time driving. (They don't deliver out here at all hours like they do in towns) I'm too late to order anything so I have to turn around and drive into Alvarado to McDonald's of all places. Yuck. So it's just very disappointing they LIE and say they turn things off 15 mins before they close instead of just flipping one damn burger for me. Saw the menu that was posted on here and it is not there menu. Things are missed advertised. My burger was so grease my bun was soaked. The fries had no seasoning on them and they where just as soggy and as the burger. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are wanting good food. Best Burger Barn should changes its name. Tonight I had one of the best patty melts I have had in a long time. As if the food being good wasn't enough, our waitress was amazing. The only bad thing I could say is that they were sold out of their famous Possum Pecker Pie. I guess we have another reason to visit again. read more

This is a serious burger joint! I'd say there are at least 20 burgers to choose from and some interesting ones at that! The burgers that we chose were absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. You do order sides separately (ie:fries, onion rings, etc.) but they are yummy too. I tried the pretzel appetizer and it was HUGE. The place is definitely older looking but it is kid friendly, offers kids meals and seats quite a few. Pictured is the Island Burger and the Bacon Cheeseburger. Loved the Island Burger! When I return I'll be trying the Reuben Burger. There were other food options but it is definitely worth it if you are looking for an awesome burger! read more

A really good burger place. I came across just driving by and saw it, and decide to stop for lunch. Oh my it was delicious, the flavor of the patty is good, fries were fresh and hot. Servers were very friendly welcoming as you come in. For the time I order to time I got my gun was very short. The place looks clean and old western style. I didn't try the dessert but next time will, they look appealing. I recommend this place and will stop by again whenever I'm on the area. read more

I've been eating there since before they built the building they are in now. Burgers are awesome, I ventured out on the menu a little and got the Uncle Cheesee. There had to be a half pound of cheddar cheese that was fried thick and round , laid on the burger, it hung over at least 5" all the way round! If you're a cheese lover, get one! Always good! Yes it's a greasy burger, you don't come to a place called burger barn in a small community and expect anything less. Literally everything is great, hand made and the staff and owners have always been above and beyond friendly. I take my friends who visit from different parts of the country here and everyone always loves it. This place is always our "cheat day" food because we can never leave without attempting to clear our plates (which is near impossible). I had lunch here for the first time upon recommendation of my companion. After I sat down, my nose started running and I was sneezing excessively. During my meal, I looked up and saw an old saddle covered in mold spores! Halfway through my meal, a waitress started spraying a highly potent pine sol like cleaner on the table next to us. It took both of our breath away and I immediately couldn't taste or smell what I was eating. I called an older waitress over and explained what that smell was doing to our meal. They don't disappoint in the burger category- they are pretty delicious and very well sized. The fries were very under done and for a new place their menu is already outdated as they have removed items from availability. We were pretty excited to try their pretzel to be told they no longer have it. So we tried the armadillo ball- it was okay, outer bacon was nice and crisp but inner bacon was almost raw. Just showed up at the burger barn to eat with my two ladies, wife and daughter, not a single waitress or restaurant staff acknowledged us. We had to seat ourselves and then we waited around about 15. minutes and still not even a soul talking to us to at least take our drink order. I understand places get busy but at other joints the staff still manages to acknowledge you and make you feel welcomed.
