I was recommended Best BBQ Cantonese from a friend who said I HAD to try out their Beef Chow fun dish. Since I don't get told often that I HAVE TO try a dish, I made quick stop in. Best BBQ is located in Great Wall, a decent sized super market near the Pleasant hill sweet hut, and will be the last restaurant in the food court (it's the one with the hanging ducks), which on many days (especially on the weekends) is a bustling and VERY busy food court where seats are hard to come by. While BBQ is in their name, I decided to go with the recommended Beef Chow Fun (just over $10). The Beef Chow Fun, a flat rice noodle dish, was a very generous size that you can easily get a couple of meals out of. The Beef, in the Beef Chow Fun dish are grilled, sliced and pretty tender. The only complaint is the dish overall is kinda greasy, so watch out for that. I really enjoyed Best BBQ Cantonese and definitely recommend it if you're finding yourself in the food court here. read more

Out of all the food stalls at Great Wall, Best BBQ is one of my top choices for GW dining. Serves dim sum everyday till 8pm. Not only do they have dim sum, their BBQ is the delicious! You can't go wrong with rice combos or noodle soups. They have so many options that are cheap with HUGE portion sizes. They accept credit card payments while majority of the food stalls are cash only. Complimentary tea and water with cups up front with a variety of sauces. Be sure to have your receipt with the order number. It comes in handy when picking up your order. read more

Best BBQ - Take-out: Honey Pork BBQ on rice with scallion oil and pickled mustard greens. mMm good. - Barbeque Near Me - Duluth, Georgia

Sad day that Best BBQ has an average Yelp rating of 3.5. I would have thought it would be a 4. Shame on you for giving the Best BBQ a non-best rating!! Located in the Great Wall Supermarket food court, Best BBQ has some legit Canto cuisine. From tasty roasted BBQ duck, pork and chicken to heartwarming dim sum and traditional Cantonese dishes, anything you order just can't disappoint. My friends and I came on a Thursday night around 8:15pm. The food court has mostly cleared up, as most shops close between 8 and 9pm. Since Best BBQ was still open, there was little decision to be made. I have had a bad experience ordering 梅根扣肉 at another food stall here, but I wanted to give the food court another chance. I ended up ordering the pork belly with pickled vegetables once more in hopes of a redeeming entree. My friends ordered other tasty Cantonese dishes so I could offset my order with other options, family style. The Japanese tofu was DELISH - hands down best entree we ordered. The Singapore noodles weren't bad - I've definitely had worse. Duck is on point, although since my friend ordered it to go, they didn't give him the duck hot. Mapo tofu is solid - but carried a bigger kick than expected. Definitely not for the faint of heart - this is real spicy, but in a good way! My pork belly dish was still kind of a let down. The time I ordered it at Humble House was way worse. This entree had drier pork belly, but at least the pickled vegetable added value to the dish rather than took away from it. It was probably my least favorite dish compared to our other orders, but it wasn't a bad dish. I probably wouldn't order it again, though. If you're looking for something cheap and quick and wanting to change it up from Ming's or a dim sum restaurant, Best BBQ definitely has something for you. read more

The best BBQ in the south that no one ever heard of. This ain;t yo typical tomato based BBQ, infused with Hickory goodness, slow smoked to perfection and fork tender, kinda melt in your mouth kind. This is Asian BBQ. Its still pork but done in a very different way. Asian BBQ is made famous by Hong Kong or Cantonese cuisine. INstead of slow smoke, they use marinade, molasses, honey, spices to put all t hat yummy goodness deep into the pork. Then , these cuts are hung into a gigantic steel egg and zapped to ultimate savory goodness. Asian BBq is like .. you know the 'bark' on the good piece of cue... well, Asian BBQ is all bark.. No, I ain;t kidding you.. its 100% savory goodness.. In fact.. its like bacon and bbq all together.. When you come to this place, this tiny corner in GW supermarket.. you order a plate of CHAR-SIU rice. Nuff said.. if you love BBQ.. you gotta try this kind of BBQ read more

The convenience of having dim sum in a grocery store's Food Court setting did freak me out a little bit. As soon as they open on the weekend, small plates of delicious food are lined up along the counters for you to choose from. There is also a glass case, where you can order almost cafeteria style, sliding a tray down in a line and piling up delicious morsels until the tray becomes too heavy to carry. Even in this food stall setting, this food window of opportunity packs a flavor punch of any large banquet hall. And the best part of all is--- no waiting! Oh, and angry ladies with carts will not be hitting you in the knees. Like any other traditional bustling Hong Kong restaurant, you will have to deal with HK style service and patrons, which entails; lots of yelling, butting in front of other people, and sometimes getting elbowed --- in order to get what you want fast than anyone else. Sure, a line will form. But, if there is the slightest wait, then the line becomes a crowd and things get fun. Don't be scared, just jump in and try to push your way to the front. This mostly happens directly in front of the register and in front of the meat case. From toddlers to great-grandpas, the warm glow of a HK BBQ meat case draws people like a moth to a flame. All generations uncontrollably push their noses against the glass to bask in the awe that is shiny carcasses covered in sweet, thick sauce behind glass. Never tasted a juicy, fatty duck with crispy spiced skin? Never sank your teeth into the side of a hog's sweet flesh? Well, you are missing out, and I truly feel sorry for you. The meat in the case is best served over rice with a side of pickled greens, during any open hours. At Best BBQ the duck and pig are royalty, and I can only sing their praises. With a spoon in my left hand and chopsticks in my right hand, I can destroy a plate of that pure comfort food. read more

Yummmmmm. Located inside the Great Wall Market, Best BBQ is aptly named - it's the best Beijing-style barbecued duck I've had outside of, well, Beijing. The food court and this stand in particular can be a little overwhelming, particularly on the weekend. You won't hear a lot of English being spoken, and you won't see much written either. Thankfully, the stack of menus by the register has some helpful pictures. Place your order at the register, and wait to pick up your food by the (complimentary) hot tea canister to the left of the registers. They do accept credit cards now, but they have a $10 minimum. When the food is ready, they call most (but not all) order numbers in English as well as Chinese, so keep an eye out on the plates coming up. Based on the reviews and pictures from Daniel B., I went with the barbecued duck noodle soup, which was perfect for a day that began with snowflurries. It's rich, hearty broth with a generous portion of finely shredded egg noodles - think ramen, but with an angel hair pasta width. It's cooked with Chinese broccoli and topped with a generous portion of barbecued duck, cut fresh from the hanging birds on display. They put the meat on last and kind of "float" it on the broth and noodles, so it retains its crispy skin. The meat was tender and flavorful, and not fatty at all. Be aware that the meat is still on the bone, but I think that helped add to the flavor, even if it did not make it the most graceful dish to eat. While there are lots of tasty options in this food court, Best BBQ will definitely merit a return trip for me. read more

Best BBQ - Roast duck noodle soup ($7.42) - Barbeque Near Me - Duluth, Georgia

Parking is easy to find because it is located inside the Great Wall Supermarket. It is one of the restaurants in the food court. We ordered half of the roasted duck to go, and it was about $14. The duck was too fat itself, so most of the meat were duck fat. You can truly feel the greasy fat when you eat it... The flavor was okay, but a little too salty. I didn't even put the sauce on because it was salty enough. The staff was friendly, yet the quality of the duck could be improved. Overall, a very average place if you want to look for some authentic roasted duck. read more

After hearing good things about Best BBQ Canto Cuisine, I figure I try it out. Oh, and they take credit card? YES; I'm there. This place is better than the the Duluth Ming's. Hate to say it. I love Mings, esp the BuHi location, but the Duluth one's quality isn't as good as Best BBQ's. As for location - inside Great Wall. Since GW is for grocery shopping like HMart, the parking is awesome. Huge lot and several spaces. I doubt you'll ever be in a "I can't find parking" situation. Just like HMart's shops, you'll be sitting in a food court. Once you order, you'll get a #. When they call your #, you get your tray. I'll say this - The folks say the # in several languages. I do NOT speak Canto nor Mandarin. So I was happy to hear English was spoken. (I think I was the only Korean running around hahaha) Food - I'm a big fan of the Roasted Duck Noodle Soup. Noodles & duck are delicious and very tasty. The broth and scallions are good as well. Fresh ingredients. I'd definitely come here for it if I am in Duluth. Beef Lo Mein - Whoa, this is a massive plate. My bf couldn't finish it. I had a few bites, I liked it. I rarely eat this kind of food anyway, so it's hard for me to really embrace it. But nonetheless, it is better than your typical Chinese restaurant. Overall - I'll be back :) read more

Located in GW supermarket this food court food stand is my go to place for Chinese BBQ. I've tried a few of their items and it's all pretty yummy. They have a variety of BBQ chicken (soy sauce, salted, scallion oil etc), roasted crispy pork, honey BBQ pork, and roasted duck. Personally, I like their soy sauce chicken and roasted crispy pork the most. They also have congee and different types of noodles. I've had their honey BBQ pork with wonton noodle and I liked it a lot, especially with the fried dough I brought on the side to dip with the broth. I'm not sure if it's an everyday thing or just a weekend thing, but they have dim sum. Their dim sum is pretty decent (not the best and not the worst, definitely better than some I've tried around the area) and everything taste freshly made: -taro puff -siu mai -mixed fried dumplings -fried chinese dough covered wrapped rice paste (i wouldn't try this though.. just stick with the shrimps wrapped in rice paste) -spare ribs -chicken feet little notes: their BBQ combo with rice comes with a side of pickled green veggies and soup that compliments the BBQ well when they're busy..the flow of ordering, picking up, and the customer service downgrades big time..so be warn they have free tea located on the left hand side of the stand I'm gonna have to try their congee next. Oh BTW..you can pick up some good chinese pastry at Mai's Bakery a few stands down after eating here =) FOR THE BBQ, don't arrive until 11:00, that's when it's usually ready. We arrived around 10 and waited til close to 11 to order.. we just walked around GW for a good bit. read more

This is one of a few food concessions located inside The Great Wall Market. It was the busiest with patron activities compared to the others. Overall it's good, however not perfect (yet). I've yet to find a perfect Cantonese Chinese restaurant that is comparable to places that I use to patronize in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Hong Kong. However, this place will satisfy that craving for Cantonese Chinese "comfort food". It's very local, and as authentic as you're able to find. This place has a glass case with hanging roast ducks.....a sign of authenticity (it's good, but not the best....based on my taste buds of Los Angeles, Asia and New York). We deliberately over ordered to do a "taste test" of a variety of items. We ordered won ton noodles with roast duck, another won ton with Char siu (bbq pork), plain sir fry "gai lan" (Chinese broccoli), two different dim sums. One was "har gow" (shrimp dim sum) and another "sui mai" (pork hash dumpling). This place merely satisfies a craving. Regarding their dim sum, they just need to work on their techniques with the assembly of the dim sum (they're super big or oversized, slightly over steamed as the dough was a little mushy, but it tasted good). Portions of vege. dish and bowls of won ton soup were all super big too! The gailan vegetables were perfect! We took alot home for leftovers. 37.00 at a food court!?!.....but then again, we deliberately over ordered to give it an honest assessment. It's a good place for a quick fix craving. It's authentic, it's good (considering that there are few authentic locations in GA). The service of our food order was sporadic. Everything came in piece meal. But this didn't matter too much with us. So be aware. Nothing fancy, you come here to eat. Portions are big, so big that one item can feed two people. Heard other customers making the same comments about large food portions too. I guess this is a good thing. Especially if you have a big appetite. We headed to the adjacent building for pastries and latte. We'll try out the other restaurants in this area too. They all looked pretty good. read more

What is not to like. It is pretty quick service for an assortment of hot and cold BBQ items. They also have a basic assortment of Dim Sum which I have yet to try. I am partial to the BBQ Pork noodles. $7.42 with tax, no tip needed or expected, nice noodles, great broth, and the two times I have tried it the BBQ Pork was very taste. It is maybe not as sweet and tangy at Mings BBQ, but I still really like it. Free hot tea and Styrofoam cups are up front. Yelp's strong reviews got me in there to try this place, and the reviews did not disappoint. read more

Being in the food court in a Great Wall grocery store, the food is very very good. The food is quite salty yet they are very delicious. I usually get the Duck on rice, but I'll be trying made to order dim sum next time. One word of warning. They hardly speak English, so it's quite hard to communicate with the cashiers, and no I do not speak Chinese although they keep on asking me stuff in Chinese. :'( read more

My mother and I are regulars here every weekend because we always come here to grab lunch while grocery shopping! Best BBQ is located inside Great Wall Supermarket on Plesant Hill Rd. The food here is great for the best price. The place had shut down a couple of times, with the last time the score being a 35, but the place reopened and you can actually see how clean the establishment is and see how hard they are actually trying to clean now, which is a plus for me. They offer a plethora of Cantonese cuisine you could possibly choose from including roast duck, crispy pork, and barbeque pork. My favorite thing about Best BBQ is their dim sum! They have a variety of dim sum to choose from and the best thing is that it is fresh! Their dim sum is colossal size compared to other dim sum restaurants so you can actually get full from 2 servings. My mom's favorites are the wonton soup without noodles (you get more shrimp wontons) and the Chinese broccoli and beef stir fry. Pork/Duck per lb: $10.95 Steamed Dim Sum (1 plate): $4.25 You can also call ahead and order to go for a quick, easy pick up if you are in a rush. I work across the street and always call ahead before coming so I can just pick up the food and not be late going to work or on my break. This place is very convenient if you are grocery shopping and want to grab a bite to eat. This place does get crazy packed and busy on the weekend so if you are super hungry, be prepared to wait in line and scavenge for a table to sit at. They call your ticket number on the receipt on their intercom when your food is ready. They come out as soon as they finish so you could get some orders before others. They have hot tea and water for you to drink as well. Love coming here for my mother and great convenience when grocery shopping. read more

Food court stalls are starting to catch my eye more and more these days. A co-worker and I came here for dinner one night based on reviews, pictures, and proximity. This place has signs hanging along the top of their stall with pictures of the dishes they offer, along with price and the name of the dish (in Cantonese, Vietnamese, and English). I had been craving dim sum for quite some time, so that's the route I went. Ask for the menu and they'll hand you one. Again, there's pictures for everything but the prices aren't shown, unfortunately. The receipt is not in English, but of the three things I ordered, they were priced $2.83 and (2) $3.54. I ordered the prawn dumplings (4 pcs), shumai (4 pcs), and bbq pork buns (3 pcs). When we came on a weeknight, the dim sum is made to order and took some time, but it was freakin' worth it! Forget about Canton House, Golden House, Oriental Pearl, etc. This will be my go-to from now on. The dim sum, in size, is about 2-3 times bigger than what the other restaurants offer. Taste-wise was on point, as well. Everything piping hot, tasty, and fresh. I would recommend coming on a weekday for the freshest food. On busy weekends, they pre-make the popular items and they sit out until sold. In this case, they give you everything they can first and will call your number again when they make everything else. I was unsure of how many different items to order to fill me up, but two items would have sufficed. I was only able to eat about half of my dinner, and brought the rest home for lunch the next day. Depending on who is at the register, you might have a hard time ordering. If you're ordering dim sum, just point to whatever you want. They will ring you up, provide the receipt, and circle your ticket number. When your order is ready, they will call your number via speaker/intercom. There's condiments/sauces, utensils, and free water and tea by the pick up window. Next time, I'll definitely pick up some roast duck or char siu that's hanging in the display window. read more

A few years ago I had vowed to never set foot in Great Wall again after a horrible shopping experience the review has gone missing ? Anyway after reading a couple of reviews recently decided to visit the food court and am happy to say the food has been really good. Dim Sum is also served here if you are not sure what you want there is a laminated menu with pictures on it to help you out just ask for it. The Shrimp Dumplings and the Shrimp and Chive Dumplings are very similar and just under five dollars each. Both are three per order the Shrimp dumplings are round and steamed with a small amount of chive. The Shrimp and Chive dumplings are just that and are pan fried, there is more chive in this and a bit less shrimp. Both are equally good choosing would be of personal preference. Shrimp Pan fried Noodle has always been a favorite and Best BBQ is making it the way it should be made. Light crispy noodles that are not oily, topped with several large shrimp, carrot and Chinese broccoli in a light sauce. You can choose your protein for this dish. Plan on sharing or taking home left overs for lunch the next day. The Pork Noodle soup is solid has Chinese broccoli and plenty of meat piled on top. Remember to add a healthy dose of chili oil to kick it up and get to slurpin, two people could share this if you were wanting a light lunch. If you go on the weekend for lunch the first wave starts early and will thin out by 11:30 am and around 12:15 the second wave will begin. The tables will fill up quickly so "stake your claim" as soon as you get there or plan on sitting next to someone you don't know. Everyone has been very polite. Take out containers can be asked for at the counter and when you are done with your meal just drop your used tray on the counter at the end on your way out. read more

Beef Chow Fun was wonderful - hadn't had this dish in a long time. These peeps need to open a location in Charlotte, NC :) You have to know that this is inside a food court at Great Wall Supermarket, so do not look for 'Best BBQ Cantonese Cuisine' on any building at this address. Yummy, yummy Cantonese barbecue. When I go to Great Wall Supermarket, I get more excited about eating at Best BBQ Cantonese Cuisine than shopping for food. It's worth walking all the way to the back corner of Great Wall (behind the produce section). I have tried three of their meats - the scallion oil chicken, the honey barbecue pork, and the roasted pork. The scallion oil chicken was an accidental order because the restaurant was out of soy sauce chicken when I went. This was a good accident, though, because the scallion oil chicken was moist and tasty. Out of the three meats, the scallion oil chicken was my favorite. The roasted pork was also tasty. The honey barbecue pork (char siu) was sweet and tasty - the cuts I got were somewhere in between lean and fatty. The sauces on the barbecued meats blended well with the white rice, which ended up as tasty as the chicken or the pork. On the side, you will get pickled mustard greens and a small soup. Don't forget to bring your tray to the counter when you're done. I haven't tried the roasted duck, but it's also on the menu. Aside from the barbecued meat dishes, there is also a fairly large selection of rice dishes and noodles. Dim sum in bamboo steamers can also be purchased. Seating is cafeteria style and shared with the rest of the food stands in Great Wall Supermarket. read more

Their duck was better than Ming's. Unfortunately they served potentially DEADLY food. They were recently CLOSED by the health department because of a U- 35 score. Officials noted more than nine "critical" violations during the Monday afternoon inspection at Best BBQ, located inside the Great Wall Supermarket at 2300 Pleasant Hill Road near Duluth. This is more of a 3.49 rating. This vendor is located towards the other end of the food court from the Great Wall supermarket entrance. We queued in a long line to put in our order, but most ppl here are either local or know what they want right away because it went by fairly quickly before we could even finish making up our minds. The roast meat menu is placed over the counter but their dim sum menu can only be viewed when you're at the counter so it's helpful to have another person go up to look at it ahead of time. Here's what we ordered: From the Dim sum menu: -Chive dumpling: was the only dish to come out hot and tasted well seasoned. Very good, would get again. -Cheong fun with shrimp filling(rice noodles): Came out lukewarm, was kinda just okay; wouldn't get again. From the roast meat menu: -Roasted duck (quarter): This was what excited my bf the most because he's had great past experiences with this dish from other Chinese eateries. But he was sorely disappointed with this one. First, it did not come with rice which he thought would be standard. Second, the flavor itself was good but it is served cold. Finally, the meaty parts were kind of tough and there was a lot more fat than he is used to. I think I would only go back to try more dim sum items but it seems to feel that there will always be a hit or miss experience at this place. read more

I have found my new favorite dim sum place!! This place beat out golden house and canton house in my book! Granted their dim sum offering is limited compared to the other two restaurants but what this place offers have more flavors and a bigger portion than the other two. I love the following dishes and dim sum from here: (also, they offers other dishes and not just dim sum. They also have bbq offerings! From honey bbq meats to roasted ducks. This place have a lot to offer!) Dim sum offering: -chicken feet -shu mai -steamed shrimp dumplings (har gou) -tripe Other dish: -Bbq plate (lunch 6$) comes with soup -honey bbq -chicken chow fung -won ton soup with duck meat All of the above was tasty, fresh and super affordable! And since this place is in a food court, you ordered and pick it up when your number is called. It's self service and no tips. Also, this place is pretty fast but expect to wait on the weekend. They are very busy! So that must mean they are authentic and good! Give them a try! :) read more

Chefs do a good job with the food, seasoning just right. However wait can be over an hour when busy. Front staff often forget orders and when you call them out they will yell at you - bad attitude. The motto here is the customer is never right. Additionally, they don't like to refund you if you decide to cancel your order, but rather have you wait for food they don't have (when you order at the counter they tell you they have the item). The front isn't run well and doesn't have an organization to it. 2 stars only for the kitchen. read more

This is a solid 4 for food court food. In a restaurant, it'll be 3, but it's not one and doesn't try to be. Got a pound and a third of honey BBQ pork and was surprised by how little you get and how expensive it is. They charge by weight, which is fair, but I felt that for $17, I should have gotten more than just a box of meat. It tastes good, not too fat, sweet or salty, but the sauce was a disappointment. It was watery, and didn't have much going on for it. I might be back, but I want to try some others first. When you're outside the supermarket, you smell distinctively the aroma of Cantonese bbq, but I couldn't be sure if it was Best bbq or Ming's, which is a few literal steps away... read more

I stopped by for an early dinner on Tuesday around 5pm. They weren't very busy but it took longer than I expected. I ordered the fisherman's congee (as it is called here) for $6.55 and an order of fried crullers for $1.75. The "little boat" (direct translation from Chinese) congee was very different from what I typically get. It had some shrimp, a few pieces of fried pork rinds, some dried cuttlefish and lots of peanuts (typical) and lots of little chunks of pork (not typical). The consistency of the congee was acceptable but not as "creamy" and "soft" as Ming's. The fried crullers were the generic kind, served whole. I think I've been spoiled by Ming's because they cut them into bite-sized pieces. I also got a lb. of mixed duck wings/feet @ $3.25/lb. you get about 15 pieces in one pound. It's a bit of a better "deal" than the bbq place inside Jusgo that sells them by the dozen. The wings were well seasoned and quite tasty as "finger food." read more

It has been a few years since I last ate at the Great Wall supermarket food court...I think Best BBQ/Cantonese Cuisine has changed ownership within that time. I recently went back on a Sunday morning to try out the dim sum, and have since become a regular visitor for Sunday brunch/lunch. First of all, it is a food court, and a bustling and loud one. Best BBQ is located in the back left corner of the supermarket at the last food stall location. The order process is a bit of a mess...i stood watching for a little bit before I realized that you need to grab menus (dim sum is on a separate laminated menu, or on white pieces of paper in Chinese characters), look at some of the additional items on photos above the stall, and decide what you want before getting in line in front of one of the registers to order. If you come in a group, grab menus and sit down, because tables are hard to commandeer. I was lucky to grab one right next to the food pickup area after I ordered...otherwise, I would have had to walk across the food court each time one of my dishes was ready. I speak a little Cantonese so I was able to order in a native language, but the cashiers are hit or miss when it comes to language skills...luckily, the menu has some pictures that are easily to point to for ordering if needed. After i ordered and paid (with cash only), i received a number on my receipt, which they will call out over a loudspeaker when the order is ready. The food pickup area has wooden chopsticks, sauces that you can put in a little dish, and a tea urn & styrofoam cups for self service. They called my number multiple times, each time one of the food items I ordered was ready at different times. If you are with a group, it may be best to order family style and share with everyone, at the risk of someone getting their food first and eaten before someone else's meal. The food: I ordered 3 staple Cantonese dim sum dishes- har gao (shrimp dumplings), shumai (pork & shrimp dumpling), and shrimp cheung fun (wide rice noodle wrapped around shrimp). I also ordered beef chow fun...I couldn't resist since I tend to gage the quality of a Cantonese restaurant based on their ability to produce a tasty chow fun noodle dish. Their version had the nice wok hay smoky quality and the noodles were wonderfully silky smooth and separated (not stuck together or chopped to bits, as some inexperienced chefs will do to a chow fun if they do not cook it correctly), but the flavors were not that balanced...the chef used too much sugar or dark soy to induce the caramelization and not enough salt. Some light soy sauce and hot oil did the trick on getting the flavors just right. The dim sum was made to order, with 3 or 4 pieces to an order...the portion sizes are huge compared to a lot of other dim sum restaurants, and quality is way better since it is made fresh and not sitting in a cart for awhile. Best BBQ has a giant menu of great looking selections...In future visits, I will try the mixed seafood chow mein (every other Chinese family had this entree on their table), one of the 15 (!) congees, one of their 20(!) noodle soups (giant bowls were being ordered by many people), and of course, the barbecue meats...crispy roast pork, honey BBQ park, roast duck, soy sauce chicken, etc...all are hanging to the right of the cashiers for you to drool over! They also have a whole bunch of dishes with pictures over the food stall that aren't even listed on the menu. (Update: I've tried both the seafood chow mein and the pork and preserved egg congee. Both are spectacular...I actually had a couple people stop by my table to ask which dish was the seafood chow mein, so they could order it too. Portions are huge, and both have great flavor.) The value for the food is great- my order was about $20 and could have fed 4 people, or just me for several meals! Overall, I would say the food quality is worth the craziness of the crowds and order process. read more

I figured this place was deserving of an updated review, with an updated rating, considering I have 17 check-ins at this location. Yes yes, I'm a fan :) Huge portion size for an amazing price. I recently started trying their dim sum and oh my... best dim sum I've had here in Atl! Each order is huge! They make it fresh to order so it comes out hot. I have found my new favorite dim sum location, and who knew it would be located at a food court. Other worthy items to try: wonton noodle soup, beef chow fun, and pan fried seafood noodles. All very good! My favorite thing about this place is the consistence. With 17 check-ins, I have yet to have a bad experience or a bad meal. This place is one of the more popular spots around the food court so you can expect to see a huge line, but they still do a good job getting your food out in a reasonable amount of time. Service is friendly. Food is awesome. Prices are affordable. You really can't go wrong at this place. Check out my photos of this place and you'll see why I love it so much. read more

Yup, best bbq for sure. The bbq pork has the nice crisp skin and the sauce from their duck is just liked Hong Kong. 5* it's a bit pricey asking $10 for 2 items plate rice. Sorry to know they have single out by health dept on roaches. While getting clean is one thing, when you see one roaches, there are thousands of them in this supermarket. All other restaurants next to them will have the same problem. read more

Made to order dim sum!! Unfortunately the paper menu is only in Chinese, so you'll need a friend who can read & speak Chinese to order (or fumble through with the cashier somehow). The dimsum is cheaper and probably better than most other places in Atlanta. I've tried a lot of the usuals: shrimp dumpling, tripe, xiaolongbao (I would skip this one...), shrimp chang feng, congee (thousand year old egg & pork). Everything is really good, and the portions are pretty big. Yummers! Cash only. read more

HUGE PORTIONS OH MY WORD. Cantonese Cuisine is a food stall in the Great Wall Asian Supermarket (last one). Came here with my family I a trip down to Atlanta. Ordered 5 dishes without realizing that some dishes could basically feed 3-4 people YingYang Rice was pretty good, Singapore Noodles were a bit spicy, wonton noodles were yummy and the thousand year old egg congee was close to what you can get in Philadelphia's Chinatown! Worth every penny you pay (super cheap prices) - get ready for leftovers! read more

Best BBQ is located in the food court of Great Wall (GW) Supermarket. To give you an idea of how much I love this place, I go here for the food and sometimes don't even buy any groceries. Best BBQ serves authentic Cantonese food, aka my comfort food. I grew up in NYC so I know a thing or two about roast pork, roast duck, thousand year old egg congee, beef chow fun (dry), and wonton noodle soups. They even have decent dim sum! That's pretty impressive for a food court restaurant. Now that I think about it, the quality of the food and the variety they offer puts every other food court restaurant to shame. For the Chinese illiterate, like myself, all their authentic dishes have English and pictures! You can literally point and give them money and they'll take care of the rest. Like other reviewers, this is Cantonese service, so you'll feel a little rushed and on the weekends a little packed, but that's a good sign. Just look around you. A bunch of happy Chinese people eating good food. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because I'm stingy with my five stars. It's not their BBQ, it's me. read more

The one thing that Atlanta does not do well is dim sum. It's very disappointing, especially growing up in cities like Boston and New York, where good quality dim sum is plentiful. Based on Yelp reviews, I found this "restaurant" (it's inside the food court of Great Wall Supermarket) and it seemed to have pretty reliable reviews of good dim sum. "Good" is definitely relative though, since I hear it's worse at other places. Anyways, I had to give it a try for myself. I was there this morning, and as expected, it was busy and crowded, since it was Saturday morning. You go up to the cashier and order whatever items you want. They have a picture menu to help you order, if you don't/can't order from the sheet that's all in Chinese. It'd be nice if they had English translations, but I appreciated the pictures. More about the menu at the end of my review. My friend and I ordered shrimp dumplings (ha-gao), tripe, chicken feet, shumai, spare ribs, long shrimp noodle thing (ha-cherng), and the fried cone shrimp. They call your number once your order is ready. I was walking back to my table, and realized I didn't have all the items I ordered. I went back up and they said they were still working on the last one. That was not communicated to me. Had I not went back up, I doubt they would've given it to me. The food was lukewarm to cool by the time we started eating. It was mediocre, but still supposedly better than other dim sum restaurants that my friend has tried in the Atlanta area. The shumai were very big, but it just seemed like a lot of meat. Not much other flavor going on. Everything was really oily and I felt gross after eating it. My biggest issue was with the fried cone shrimp. On the menu and the picture menu, this is listed as "fried cone shrimp" and there is a picture of THREE fried cone shrimps on a plate. I thought, oh this sounds good, I should try this. Not only was this the most expensive item on the plate (~$4.75 I believe), it only comes with ONE. I was very surprised at this and thought it must be a mistake. I went back up to them to ask about this, and they were very rude. The first guy I spoke to flat out ignored me and turned around to do his work again. Not only were they rude, but they said that this dish always comes with only one. Then why bother printing misinformation on your menu? And I've never seen any other dim sum place that only gives you ONE of something. They said that they only give one since they make it bigger than what it normally is. Supposedly the man I spoke to said they inform customers when ordering, but we were not informed. Had I been informed I was paying almost $5 for ONE fried cone shrimp, I most definitely would not have ordered it. My whole experience here was a letdown. I'm giving this place three stars in the hopes that their BBQ and other menu items are good. I was hungry, so I ate all my food, but it was not a great dining experience at all. When I brought my plates back up at the end, one of the staff apologized to me for the misinformation, which was appreciated, but I just wanted to leave at that point. Not worth the money. read more
