There was a wedding on the event space but the doors are wide open so it was VERY LOUD and really impacting our experience. Service is as expected from a Chinese restaurant. We got seated immediately (it was after 9PM), our drinks are taken care of and servers came to take our orders. Food is mediocre at best. Congee, Japanese tofu, and pretty much everything we ordered are better elsewhere. Only the fried rice was decent. And their garlic chili sauce is one of the BEST. If I could buy their garlic chili sauce, I would.

The filling was perfectly balanced and not too sweet, the mochi was chewy, and the exterior was nice and crispy. The Peking duck was hitting as usual and is still one of the best I've had. The door was unlocked, so we walked in. A staff member told us they didn't open until 11:00 and asked us to wait outside. He also told us that we should only come in when the sign outside was lit. I completely understand that the restaurant has business hours, but it was only three minutes before opening. Also, it's summer and the sunlight is very bright, making it extremely difficult to tell whether the sign is lit or not. The three-minute wait wasn't the issue. What bothered me was the way the staff member spoke to us. It felt more like he was lecturing us than politely communicating with customers. Unfortunately, this experience was enough for us not to come back, and I would not recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Having been at least once every couple months for years, it's our Chinese comfort food as dim sum is meant to be. Although I would recommend arriving at anytime they are open, we find the absolute best time for dim sum is to arrive right at opening on Saturday or Sunday. This time lets us beat the wait, get a great table fast, and the food is super plentiful, hot and fresh out of the kitchen. The chrysanthemum tea is a must have and complements the food as a perfect, tasty, and just sweet enough palate cleanser (although I would prefer to add the rock sugar myself to my tea, they serve it with sugar already inside the pot). For the absolute best pairing with your chrysanthemum tea, make sure to save room for the awesome pineapple buns while supplies last. They were out today and we all collectively cried (will be going back just for the pineapple buns soon...we are just not complete without them!). We love all the dishes, but our absolute favorites (outside of the pineapple buns) are the pork spare ribs with black bean, the beef rice rolls/noodles, shrimp dumplings, and turnip cakes. Add some spicy sauce to the spare ribs and turnip cakes to really set them off! For iced coffee lovers who like it really strong, don't pass up on the iced coffee. It has legs that are strong enough to walk, but completely complements the dim sum with a little extra boost to help you enjoy the day. So, I challenge others to find a better dim sum place in Atlanta. That is why Canton House earns my 5th star and looking forward to getting my pineapple buns (really) soon!

There were only 3 other tables enjoying their dinner besides us. We ordered two waters and a plate with roasted pork and honey BBQ pork over rice with bok choy. The menu didn't list a price for the combo, so we asked the server/cashier beforehand, and he let us know it would be $14.95 after tax, which we appreciated. The food came out in about 10-15 minutes, fresh and hot. The roasted pork and honey BBQ pork were both tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced -- not overly salty, not too fatty, just really well-prepared. The honey BBQ pork had a slightly caramelized glaze with a smoky sweetness, while the roasted pork had a nice savory depth and crispy edges. The bok choy was fresh and cooked just right, adding a nice crunch and balance to the plate. The rice soaked up all the juices really well and tied everything together. Even coming in later at night, the service was straightforward and efficient, and the quality of the food definitely stood out. Solid portion size, comforting meal, and definitely worth coming back for if you're craving classic Cantonese-style BBQ. My partner rated it a 4.5/5, and I'd definitely return to try more from the menu.

The soy chicken was actually quite nice the flavor was mild, could be more fragrant. The roast pork belly was a little under done and therefore the skin wasn't crispy and nicely roasted evenly. The veg was ok, can't go wrong with that. Love the daily soup though. What I didn't like was that my food came in styrofoam boxes even though we ate there and they knew cos they asked. The dish also came with what looked like Chinese broccoli, which added a nice balance to the meal. The portion size was great -- it came in a standard takeout container but was definitely enough for both of us to share and feel full. The BBQ pork was the highlight for me (4/5). It was tender, juicy, and nicely caramelized with that classic sweet-savory glaze. The edges had a slight char that added extra depth, and each bite was flavorful without being overwhelming. The roasted pork, on the other hand, was just okay (2.5/5). While the skin had a bit of crispiness, the meat itself leaned on the tougher side and wasn't as juicy as I'd hoped. Unfortunately, there were quite a few bony pieces, which made it feel like we were getting less actual meat. Flavor-wise, it was a bit underwhelming and didn't have the same richness or satisfying texture as the BBQ pork. One thing that really stood out was the sauce poured over everything -- it was savory, slightly sweet, and tied all the components together really well. I also appreciated that the overall dish wasn't too salty, which made it easier to enjoy without feeling heavy. Service-wise, the cashier was friendly and answered our questions clearly, which made ordering easy. Since it's located in a food court, there was plenty of seating available, and it wasn't busy at all for a Saturday around 5 PM -- a nice, relaxed dining experience. Overall, a solid, affordable food court option if you're craving Cantonese BBQ. I'd definitely come back for the BBQ pork, but might try a different second meat next time.
