Be is the absolute best!!! I bought my wedding dress at a sample sale, so it was a size 12 (I'm prob a 4-6 in wedding dress sizes). I sometimes think that tailors are like car mechanics. They seem to almost always charge more than it seems they should, for less work than it seems they should be doing. After taking a dress with multiple layers and lots of gathered bunching to several tailors all wanting to charge me between 80 and 120 for the dress, I went to Be. She charged me only 40 to hem a dress with 4 layers, including taking in the dress at the top. Be is the "honest mechanic" in a sea of tailors who like to overcharge! As soon as I brought the dress in, Be was on the floor, marking it up. She was not afraid to get started! She had the dress ready in about a week (she was already swamped when I brought the dress in, it seems in this recession, her business has only gone up!), which I thought was quick given the fact that she was already working overtime. I brought my husband with me when I picked up the dress, and he just fell in love with this woman, she is adorable. She has been at this location for many years, and she is just a sweetheart! WHEN you decide to use Be, be sure to bring a checkbook or cash, she doesn't take credit cards. read more

Be is AWESOME!!! My sister is getting married this Saturday and being the bridezilla she is - she told me I needed to drop some poundage and bought me a size smaller than I am :((( I did lose the weight and the dress fit 2 weeks ago and of course being the foodie that I am, gained the weight back!! Desperate, I came to Be and she had told me that there wasn't much fabric to have the dress let out and the most she could do was maybe an inch more, anymore then she would have to add fabric from the hem. Take note this was a Jenny Yoo dress with a pleated bustier made with taffeta that had silk lining so ANY and I mean any additions would be very very obvious. I told her I needed it before Thursday (today) and she told me to come in on Tuesday to try it on and make sure that I'd be able to fit the dress since she could only let it out a tiny bit and she wasn't sure if I'd be able to breathe.... Anyways, I dropped the dress off on Friday, did a 3 day cleanse and came back Tuesday to try on the dress. Needless to say the dress was perfect! It fit amazingly and you couldn't even tell that she did anything to it. The taffeta pleats on the bustier were lined perfectly and everything was done for a really decent price. I am definitely coming back to Be, she is so sweet and really helped me out for my sister's wedding this Saturday. Tips: Her hours are 8-5 but if you call she's usually there later until 6 or 7 and will wait if you are like me and work until 5/6 and are desperate. Just make the call! However, I do have to say when she answers the phone she doesn't say "Be's tailoring" she just says hello, so just go with it and know you didn't call the wrong number haha. The plaza she's in is BLUE and across from Starbucks. She is on the 2nd floor above the hair salon and next to the yoga center and the parking lot is one way and very tricky to get out of to turn left onto 17th so BE CAREFUL. She is CASH ONLY - I didn't know this but luckily I had my checkbook and she had accepted my check :) All in all I'd definitely recommend Be :) Great work, great prices, and she's so sweet! read more

I've been going to Be since 2006. I needed a dress repaired after it had ripped... for a wedding I was in the very next day. I tried to sew it up and it looked like a butcher attempted to fix it! I must have called 10 other places who said it couldn't be done in time, before I talked to Be. She had me bring it in, was kind about my sad attempt to sew, and even said I could wait for it (I enjoyed a frosty from across the street). The dress came out as good as new, and she only charged me 10 bucks. Instantly, I was a customer for life! Since then, I've brought her numerous business suits, dresses, and pants that she has expertly fit to me. I am short and petite, with broad shoulders, and I can't tell you what a challenge it is to wear things off the rack. Be makes me feel like I can buy anything on sale or that is just my style without ever worrying that it will fit perfectly. Oh, and her prices are amazing! Earlier this year, I brought her two pants to hem, a skirt that needed a new zipper, two jackets that were one size too large, and a dress to take in and the total was $35... I couldn't believe it. It's really not a bad place to get your clothes altered. Be is nice but works slow. She also charges a lot. This is her own shop, and she doesn't have any employee to help with the workload. Was having the worst time trying to find someone to alter my bridesmaid dress until I found Be! I needed the dress taken in at the top and hemmed and she did it all for $60 which was like half what everywhere else I took it quoted me and she did an awesome job! Both times I went in for drop off and pick up, other women were there picking up their items and could not say enough nice things about her and they were so right! Two of them were on their 2nd bridesmaid dress they had brought into her and loved her work. When I went in to pick it up and tried it on, she said she took it in a little too much in in her opinion. I told her it was fine but she said no you need to be able to breath and be comfortable, I'll fix it right now. She let it out a little and had it back to me to try on again in less than 10 minutes! I love Be! I take the weirdest things to her shop and she always does an amazing job! My boyfriend races road bicycles and had a couple nasty crashes that left us with some seriously damaged uniforms. Be cleaned them up beautifully! You would never know he had been in a crash!
