Nam has been absolutely amazing! I've worked with him for years, and he always does excellent work on my clothes. I noticed a few reviews that seem to come from misunderstandings. From my experience, the key with Nam is communication, be clear about what you want, when you need it, and ask about the total cost upfront if you're unsure. Since he runs a one-man shop, he can get busy, but he always delivers quality work. I genuinely recommend him if you're looking for someone skilled and reliable. read more

You will find no better tailor for the value and turnaround time at Alterations Unlimited. I have brought Nam so many tailoring projects over the years and he has always executed them flawlessly and with a great attitude and smile. From having a men's suit jacket altered for a wedding, to hemming turtlenecks into custom cropped winter layers, to sewing straps on sundresses for better bust coverage, to even hemming a men's shearling jacket into a custom cropped winter a jacket--Nam can do it all! No matter the project, Nam has always matched his skills to the project for complete customer satisfaction. When the hem on my cropped turtlenecks was not exactly what I wanted, Nam re-hemmed them no problem. When I wasn't quite sure how I wanted to finish the shearling jacket, Nam painstakingly removed and readjusted the hem on the jacket to give it an elegant look. And when there was a miscommunication about when a suit jacket needed to be ready for pick up, Nam dropped what he was doing and stayed past closing to make sure that it would be ready before our flight. His prices are fair, the quality of his work is excellent and the service is impeccable. I have never been more enthusiastic to leave a well-deserved five star review! read more

i came on as saturday to get a jumpsuit shortened a couple inches he told me that it would be easy and that i could pick it up thursday at 3, and that he might even get it done earlier . i come on thursday at 3:30, he tells me he hasn't done it and that i should've written the date down on his note. i had a flight to catch and he said he would get it done in 30 min. when i asked for a discount he said that it was my fault, and that i didn't understand it takes a week for tailoring, when he told me thursday. then he tells me i thought you lived close, like it doesnt matter. so rude and so disrespectful. read more

absolutely worst experience!!! do not come here! i came in to get a dress and top altered. i simply wanted the top tucked in a little bit around my chest and nothing more. the man who owns the shop did not mention how much it would be. the ONLY thing he said was that he would need to replace the zipper on my dress and it would take a little over a week because he was so busy. i come back a week and a half later to him billing me $120!!!! obviously i was in complete shock as i have NEVER paid that much to get fabric tucked into a dress. i told him that was too much and argued with me that he told me it would take him a while to complete my request. but again, he told me he had a busy schedule and that he just needed to replace the zipper. not that it would cost me 3x the price i paid for the dress! i feel so upset for even coming here in the first place. i went back home to try on the dress and the zipper is hanging out and the stitching was done inside out!! horrible horrible quality. this man ripped me off and i will be coming back to demand some money back, this is absurd! read more

This guy is so rude I wonder where the kind efficient tailors are. He doesn't want any small jobs, he wants jobs he can overcharge for.

The nicest person ever! I went in on a Tuesday to get a clasp on a dress repositioned and was told Saturday, but I asked if he could rush the order since I needed it Thursday and he said yes. Love this little alteration shop and highly recommend! read more

Nam is hands down the best. His work is impeccable. I recommend him to anyone in need of alterations.

I found this place on Yelp as it was really close to my home and had good reviews. I came in needing alterations for sleeves to my bridal gown and Nam was very sweet. He said he would get it done and it was affordable. He measured everything and made me feel confident in what he was doing. My sleeves came out perfect. I will be using Nam for future alteration needs! read more

Please, do not go to this place, the service was horrible and disrespectful. I took a beach blanket to fix its zipper, my blanket was clean, smells good etc.. nothing wrong with it, except for the zipper that helps me to carry it save and easy. This male Asian in the shop was acting like my item was some kind of biological weapon, I am not exaggerating, he was awful and weird. I run away as soon as I could. read more

I found this place on Yelp as it was conveniently located and reviews seems good. Nam is so kind and his work is excellent. I took my daughters baby blanket for repair. It's delicate and needed quite a bit of stitching. He did an amazing job and even had it done early! I highly recommend his services. read more

I don't know about you, but any time a place has a solid 5 star rating with over 50 reviews, it seems just a tad suspicious. But I was happily wrong! I came in with a bridesmaid dress that I knew needed to be hemmed, but seemed to be OK elsewhere (not great, but bridesmaid dress, you know?). Well, he saw the dress on me and immediately recommended shortening one of the straps, and added a snap closure on the front. Seemed like a smart idea, so I went with it. It fit PERFECTLY. The straps were now at a length that I wasn't tugging on it, and not too short that it gave the "wings" in the back. The snap front turned out to be the best part, as once in the wedding, I didn't have to worry about how I stood or turned, because it was secure, but you couldn't see it at all. It's so hard to just make a guess when you don't have a place to go to, but you need something fixed. Thanks Yelp for leading me here! read more

Great professional work, so nice to deal with. Highly recommend. Work always done on time, live going here.

The owner does amazing work and is very friendly and accommodating. He made the alterations to the slip for my wedding dress and he altered a heavily beaded bridesmaids dress for me. I came in to have the bridesmaids dress altered in a panic, as I needed the dress altered in 48 hours. The dress was very heavily beaded which meant a lot of time and work required to make the needed alterations. The owner worked over time to get the dress ready for me in the very right timeline. He's a lifesaver! His work is detailed and pristine and he has a lovely personality which makes the alterations experience more enjoyable! Prices are reasonable for the work! read more

Brought in an item on a Tuesday to have the hems taken up. Thought it was pretty basic, and I was told it would be $20. Seemed steep to me, but I agreed, and paid cash up front. I asked if it could be done by Thursday, and was told "No, Friday." I reluctantly agreed, knowing I needed it for an event Friday night, and had daytime meetings, and it would be tight, but I could make it. Friday, I come in and cheerfully say hello. Blank stare. I tell him I'm here to pick up my item. Blank stare. Clearly, he has forgotten all about me and my item. I remind him what it looked like, and I see the lightbulb come on. But obviously I realize my item is not ready. He pulls it out from the back and says come back at 2:00. I tell him that's too late, as I need to wear it to an event, and he says can get it done in half an hour. I tell him that I'm on my way to a meeting, and I'd rather just get my money back. So he gives me my $20, and I got to my event looking like a soup sandwich. I was disappointed, as I was recommended this place by a friend who said that he can work wonders and do whatever you need done to your clothes. However, with this inconvenience, I'll be sticking with Make It Fit. Also, parking was not the easiest, as it's all street parking, and if Eat Chow is busy, good luck. read more

Please do not go to this place , Nam is not a responsible person, I dropped my dress off 10 days ago for a little tiny alteration even though he was charging me TOO MUCH. I went there two days later than the day it is supposed to be ready, he did nothing on my dress . It so disappointing. I don't recommend this place. read more

This place was great ! My boyfriend and I had a wedding to go to and had to get his suit tailored. Price was great and he made sure to take his time fitting my boyfriend before we left the garment with him. Nam is an absolute angel and I took all of my husbands clothes here before he started his first day of work. We moved from out of state for his new job so we were in a bit of a rush to get everything altered on time before his first day. Nam came in on a Sunday, a day that he is normally closed, to ensure that my husband had what he needed for his first day of work and so that we could pick up his clothes. I was completely blown away by the quality of the alterations as well as Na's knowledge and customer service. I will only be coming back to Nam for all of our alterations moving forward-- beyond impressed. Thank you Nam!! Update: I brought a bridesmaid dress to Nam to have him take it in and he did phenomenal work! I shouldn't have been surprised, but again, I continue to be impressed with Nam's attention detail, expertise, and customer service. He can definitely do women's clothing too! My dress fits like a dream thanks to Nam! read more

This is the holy grail for all my clothing alteration needs! Being a smaller frame man, I'm in constant need of alterations ranging from suits, shirts, and jean hems. Each time I've brought my clothes here, I've left extremely satisfied with the finished product. No point in buying articles of clothing if you can't wear them with confidence! She truly understands fit and function for men with consideration to size and style. I like my clothing form-fitted for my athletic build and she's very accommodating to that. The real draw at Alterations Unlimited is her attentiveness to my needs; most of the places I've gone to, I get people who just give me a few nods and mm-hmms as if I'm intruding on their time. This place does everything efficiently with great turnover time and ALWAYS for a great price. I don't go anywhere else. Thank you for your great service! read more

Alterations Unlimited is the BEST. I don't trust anyone else with my clothing. Nam is professional, timely, and really knows what he's doing. I had 2 pairs of pants done today as well as this suit. Nam posses the ability to take a piece of clothing, and add value to it. If you are someone who maybe doesn't have the finances to buy a top dollar item, you can easily get away with buying something less expensive and bringing it to Nam. He can turn something into nothing. read more

Nam is absolutely wonderful! I came in on memorial day, I live in the area so I figured I would swing by and see if they were open since no one was answering the phone. I walked in and he said "Hi we are not open but come on in and I will take care of you." I was really pressed for time, I needed to get a bridesmaid dress altered for a wedding that weekend, he said don't you worry, I'll make sure its ready. Sure enough it was ready on Thursday and he did a flawless job. The dress fit wonderfully. He hemmed the bottom lining slightly shorter than the chiffon top layer, just enough so that you could see a little bit of my shoes. It was perfect and he was awesome. Will definitely be back with all my alteration needs, thanks Nam read more

Brought a dress in to be fixed as it had a strap that broke. Not only did he fix the strap and it looked flawless, he also reenforced the other side so I won't have to worry about them snapping off the next time I wear the dress. Best part, came in after work on a Thursday (about 5pm) and i was told it would be done and available for pick up at anytime the very next day! Definitely will be coming here for any alterations/fixes I need in the future! read more

I should have paid attention to the other reviews that mentioned work not being completed. I was promised my bridesmaid dress hemming would be done in one week. When I showed up to pick it up the day before flying out it was still hanging there unfinished. He asked me to come back in a few hours and he'd have it done. I had to reroute a few appointments to get back over there, and I fully expected him to knock it down to half price for the inconvenience. $50 for hemming a dress is no joke. He charged me $40, and because I had another appointment waiting, I had to rush out without trying it on, trusting that the hemline we agreed on and pinned (where my toes peeked fully out under the dress) was correct. IT WASN'T. I got home a few hours later and tried it on. It drags on the ground with the same heels on. Now I fly out with a dress that is certainly going to trip me during a wedding and $40 lighter in my wallet for crappy service. read more

Ok ladies and gents, "Alterations Unlimited", hands down, is THE place! Nam as a fashion designer has an incredible eye for detail. He is experienced with complicated alterations, and understands working with high quality material while keeping a keen eye on the style and design of the clothes. I had a beautiful, expensive, evening outfit that I purchased on a whim and never ended up wearing because it was "runway gorgeous" but too revealing and impractical to actually wear. I reluctantly decided to give it away when a friend suggested I bring it to Nam first. Not only did Nam keep the outfit contemporary and in Vogue, he improved it! I have brought other items to Nam to alter and update and he amazes me with his talent each time. Experienced, professional, fast, affordable and reliable; the only place I will bring my clothes from now on! BTW $20 for a hem alteration is definitely not expensive for designer, quality clothes that require detail and professional workmanship. read more

I can't say enough how amazing Nam's work and service is. I went to him because I saw all of his great reviews. I asked if he could take in a suit of mine, and if it was at all possible to have it done he next day. He graciously agreed and had my suit ready to go when I got there. The jacket and pants fit me perfectly. It's like I bought a brand new suit. I am so happy with Nam's work and service that I told him I will bring in my wedding tux. I will make sure to give him plenty of time the next time. Thanks again, Nam! read more
