When the hem on my cropped turtlenecks was not exactly what I wanted, Nam re-hemmed them no problem. absolutely worst experience!!! do not come here! i came in to get a dress and top altered. i simply wanted the top tucked in a little bit around my chest and nothing more. the man who owns the shop did not mention how much it would be. the ONLY thing he said was that he would need to replace the zipper on my dress and it would take a little over a week because he was so busy. i come back a week and a half later to him billing me $120!!!! obviously i was in complete shock as i have NEVER paid that much to get fabric tucked into a dress. i told him that was too much and argued with me that he told me it would take him a while to complete my request. but again, he told me he had a busy schedule and that he just needed to replace the zipper. not that it would cost me 3x the price i paid for the dress! i feel so upset for even coming here in the first place. i went back home to try on the dress and the zipper is hanging out and the stitching was done inside out!! horrible horrible quality. this man ripped me off and i will be coming back to demand some money back, this is absurd! read more

I took a beach blanket to fix its zipper, my blanket was clean, smells good etc.. nothing wrong with it, except for the zipper that helps me to carry it save and easy. I don't know about you, but any time a place has a solid 5 star rating with over 50 reviews, it seems just a tad suspicious. But I was happily wrong! I came in with a bridesmaid dress that I knew needed to be hemmed, but seemed to be OK elsewhere (not great, but bridesmaid dress, you know?). Well, he saw the dress on me and immediately recommended shortening one of the straps, and added a snap closure on the front. Seemed like a smart idea, so I went with it. It fit PERFECTLY. The straps were now at a length that I wasn't tugging on it, and not too short that it gave the "wings" in the back. The snap front turned out to be the best part, as once in the wedding, I didn't have to worry about how I stood or turned, because it was secure, but you couldn't see it at all. The owner does amazing work and is very friendly and accommodating. He made the alterations to the slip for my wedding dress and he altered a heavily beaded bridesmaids dress for me. I came in to have the bridesmaids dress altered in a panic, as I needed the dress altered in 48 hours. The dress was very heavily beaded which meant a lot of time and work required to make the needed alterations. The owner worked over time to get the dress ready for me in the very right timeline. He's a lifesaver! His work is detailed and pristine and he has a lovely personality which makes the alterations experience more enjoyable! Prices are reasonable for the work! read more

Brought in an item on a Tuesday to have the hems taken up. Thought it was pretty basic, and I was told it would be $20. Seemed steep to me, but I agreed, and paid cash up front. I asked if it could be done by Thursday, and was told "No, Friday." I reluctantly agreed, knowing I needed it for an event Friday night, and had daytime meetings, and it would be tight, but I could make it. Friday, I come in and cheerfully say hello. Blank stare. I tell him I'm here to pick up my item. Blank stare. Clearly, he has forgotten all about me and my item. I remind him what it looked like, and I see the lightbulb come on. But obviously I realize my item is not ready. He pulls it out from the back and says come back at 2:00. I tell him that's too late, as I need to wear it to an event, and he says can get it done in half an hour. I tell him that I'm on my way to a meeting, and I'd rather just get my money back. So he gives me my $20, and I got to my event looking like a soup sandwich. I was disappointed, as I was recommended this place by a friend who said that he can work wonders and do whatever you need done to your clothes. However, with this inconvenience, I'll be sticking with Make It Fit. Also, parking was not the easiest, as it's all street parking, and if Eat Chow is busy, good luck. read more

We only had a week and a half time frame to get this suit completed and it was done with time to spare. The owner was very friendly and did an amazing job with his suit. Nam is an absolute angel and I took all of my husbands clothes here before he started his first day of work. We moved from out of state for his new job so we were in a bit of a rush to get everything altered on time before his first day. I walked in and he said "Hi we are not open but come on in and I will take care of you." I should have paid attention to the other reviews that mentioned work not being completed. I was promised my bridesmaid dress hemming would be done in one week. When I showed up to pick it up the day before flying out it was still hanging there unfinished. He asked me to come back in a few hours and he'd have it done. I had to reroute a few appointments to get back over there, and I fully expected him to knock it down to half price for the inconvenience. $50 for hemming a dress is no joke. He charged me $40, and because I had another appointment waiting, I had to rush out without trying it on, trusting that the hemline we agreed on and pinned (where my toes peeked fully out under the dress) was correct. IT WASN'T. I got home a few hours later and tried it on. It drags on the ground with the same heels on. Now I fly out with a dress that is certainly going to trip me during a wedding and $40 lighter in my wallet for crappy service. read more

Ok ladies and gents, "Alterations Unlimited", hands down, is THE place! Nam as a fashion designer has an incredible eye for detail. He is experienced with complicated alterations, and understands working with high quality material while keeping a keen eye on the style and design of the clothes. I had a beautiful, expensive, evening outfit that I purchased on a whim and never ended up wearing because it was "runway gorgeous" but too revealing and impractical to actually wear. I reluctantly decided to give it away when a friend suggested I bring it to Nam first. Not only did Nam keep the outfit contemporary and in Vogue, he improved it! I have brought other items to Nam to alter and update and he amazes me with his talent each time.
