He is a very good tailor. He does not interact with you but he is good at his craft. My biggest complaint is he doesn't keep his posted office hours. Here's my experience with Simon's tailoring services. I needed a suit tailored for a wedding and decided to take it to Simon three weeks prior to the event. I was told it would be ready by Monday. When I showed up on Monday, Simon informed me that he had forgotten about it and it wasn't ready. He then promised it would be done by Wednesday morning. I came back first thing Wednesday, but the suit still wasn't ready. Simon asked me to return at 7 PM that evening. Frustrated, I returned later that evening, and finally, the suit was ready. Simon apologized for the delay and didn't charge me, which I appreciated. However, on the wedding day, when I put on the suit, it was a disaster. The suit was barely tailored. It looked like all he did was hem the pants, and even that was poorly done--the pants were too short, making it look like I was preparing for a flood. It was embarrassing. The groom was also upset because he wanted all his groomsmen to look their best, and I stood out for all the wrong reasons. read more

Worst taylor in O.C. Not cheap at all. He gives you a quote about the alterations according to his mood and the weather outside. No explanation about it. Bring your stuff somewhere else if you don't want to see your clothes ruined because he doesn't do anything according to your indications but according to what HE thinks it's the best for your jacket, pants etc. The good reviews you see here are probably 90% fake. Value Wow Simon is the best tailor ever! I drove all the way from San Diego to come see him for his expertise! He is amazing at improvising on the spot. I have Items that need special detail, for instance these pair of jeans were too small and he was actually was able to alter them to fit me! By adding in the side black inlays extending them so they fit my hips as you see in the pictures below. Of course my dog sat on the jeans when I laid them down to take a picture! I've already left new items for him to do and I am happy to take the drive to support his little shop and his amazing work! Normally, I really like this place. Fair prices, does a good job, he isn't the most friendly person but he does a good job so honestly I don't care. Best tailor I ever used due to his creativity and ability to listen and solve my complicated fitting and re-design challenges. I am very petite yet ling waisted and ling legged fir my height. Clothes don't always fit me. I LOVE Simon!! There is never a challenge too great for him. From seeing my sock jokes and re-edging my wool scarf that THF new puppy has bitten through and tore through to too long crotch on jumpsuit and too long blazer with moving buttons to make room for ample bust. I had a bridesmaids dress I needed last minute alterations on. I brought my dress to Simon on Saturday and needed it to be done by Wednesday. I arrive at his shop and make it very clear that I need it done by Wednesday as my flight out of town to the wedding is Thursday morning. He assures me it will be done by Wednesday at 6pm. I arrive at 6pm to his shop Wednesday and he tells me he forgot about the dress and had not done it. I told him I was leaving the next morning for a flight at 11:30am and the earliest time I could pickup was 10am tomorrow which is the time his shop is supposed to open. He tells me it will be done and I can pickup at 10am. On my way to his shop before the airport on Thursday morning at 9:50am, I call to make sure he is meeting me. I get no response from him and he does not answer the phone. I arrive at the shop at 10am right before my 11:30am flight and Simon is no where to be found. I wait until 10:25 and he walks inside slowly without hurry. I tell him I am about to miss my flight as he is almost a half hour later than the time he said he would meet me and he just looks at me. I almost had to leave without my dress to make my flight. This man has absolutely no communication skills and is extremely unprofessional. Will never be going back. read more

I came in yesterday and brought in three jeans with broken zippers. Simon fixed all of them on the spot! He's a very nice, quiet guy. One of my jeans zippers broke open again when I got home (a brand new pair of jeans with a cheap zipper, ugh) so I brought it back in today and Simon replaced the zipper for me for free, and fixed it on the spot. Came here with my boyfriend to get his jeans tailored. It was recommended by one of his client's. He wanted the jeans to have the original hem, but Simon asked how he would be wearing the pants, with or without shoes and explained the need for original hem and if it was what he wanted. He could have easily agreed to his request and charged him more for that specific service, but he wanted him to be happy and practical with the results. I appreciate that they don't try and take advantage of you. My boyfriend's jeans were able to be picked up the next day and they looked great! Whoever said the price is reasonable was pretty loaded. For the average person, I would not recommend this place just for the price point. I came in for three pants to be cut in length, a relatively simple and cheap practice back home (and I feel anywhere). I didn't ask for some complicated alteration, just literally cut the length of three pairs of pants. That's it. When it came to the price he was charging $15 per pants or $45 total. In disbelief I asked again how much it would all cost because the Yelp reviews said his prices were reasonable. He was kind enough to drop the price to $40, but I'm probably never going to come back here. You cannot justify the price being $15 for something like that. I don't even want to know what his price points are for anything else. Additionally, he has no signs or anything stable in terms of price points per given alteration. It just seems to be whatever he's feeling given time constraints. But to give you a price point of comparison, this was my experience and the price I paid for this kind of alteration over the course of a 1 week turnaround. Simon is absolutely amazing. I came in with several pantsuits and the dilemma of which size to get altered. He was very patient and gave me frank advice about what would be the most flattering and appropriate for me. He then finished alterations way ahead of when I had expected them to be completed, and the work he did was phenomenal and cost what I think is more than reasonable. Some people may have expectations for Walmart level prices to get boutique level services, but I would rather fairly compensate Simon for the level of skill he has. Brought in a simple white dress shirt to be fitted to my tall, slim body. The shirt was already slim fit to begin with, jsut needed a little tightening up. I am not too happy with the result, as the bottom of the shirt is still flaring outward. Not to mention the cost. I paid $32 for this alteration that should have been no more than $20.
