UPDATE! I'm thrilled to share that after my post, the owner…read moreof Rekindle, Rebecca, reached out to me and has been absolutely wonderful. It's not often today for the owner of a business to reach out directly to a customer - she did and it was a very positive engagement. There are time that even the best business has a hiccup and something goes wrong. What makes a huge difference is how the business responds, and therefore, Rekindle gets five stars. I'm certain my next visit will be fantastic - I'll be posting an update in the near future. Wow - So Disappointed! Rekindle was at the Taste of Orange this year and I enjoyed one of the Italian sandwich samples they were handing out. It was fantastic! We met the owner - she was very charismatic and charming. Today we stopped by to grab an Italian sandwich, and I just cannot believe they served me bread that was so old and dry - it would have been perfect for croutons, but definitely nothing like what we had at the Taste of Orange. The bread was so dry I had to dress it up with some olive relish to eat it - I don't expect when I pay $31 for a sandwich and chai iced tea latte to get home and have to start working on my sandwich. I accept some responsibility for this, because honestly, who goes to a coffee shop for a sandwich.

I was originally tempted to stay for churros, but the girls wanted to explore the Packing House, and this turned out to be a great choice! After walking around and checking out all the dessert options, we came back to Parfait Paris. Everything in the display case looked beautiful, making it hard to decide. I ordered the Káiser, and it was as pretty as it was delicious. The combination of marzipan and fresh strawberries was unique, balanced, and not overly sweet. It was freshly made, beautifully presented, and definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. Everyone in our group enjoyed their desserts, and it was the perfect way to end a graduation celebration. The staff was friendly, the desserts came out quickly, and the quality was excellent. The selection of macarons is always great, and last time I was here (in May), they had an incredible extra-giant Dubai chocolate macaron. Seriously, it was filled with the most amazing chocolate filling and was by far the best Dubai chocolate treat I've ever had. These macarons hold up best when refrigerated, but I've carried them around for a few hours at time, and they've still been okay. Just handle with care so that they don't break in transit!

I waited the 15 minutes that the staff recommended, and the texture was spot on. As for flavor, it was slightly nutty but other than that didn't really have much of a Dubai type flavor. The chocolate didn't come through too much and the pistachio flavor was very light. I had the feeling this would be an expensive touristy type food stand, and I feel like I was right. The treats here are interesting sounding and beautiful to look at, but in the end I think it is an expensive 'viral treat' trap. I personally don't think I will try this place again.

Updating my review after returning today for the first time in years. We brought our two kids in…read morefor the Tea for Tots event with Rumi. The event itself was great. Rumi was wonderful with the kids, the snacks were cute (albeit pretty limited for the price--a small tea sandwich, a small cupcake, some cinnamon goldfish), they had a little dance session, and then did photos. Overall a cute experience for the kids. That said, I got a lavender latte and it was difficult to finish. The foam was like a salted caramel, which clashed with the lavender's liquid portion of the drink. There were a lot of lavender petals on top, which looked nice, but were bitter to taste. The latte portion actually tasted ok after I grabbed a straw so that I could drink it without the foam, but the foam and toppings just really threw the drink off. For $7, I expect harmonious flavors as well as an aesthetic look. I'd definitely bring my kid back for another Tots event, but I'd not get the lavender latte again.

Vibe: Girly and cute, the place is adorned with faux flowers on the wall, flower table cloths, pink…read morevelvet chairs. Definitely an overall Pink theme. It looks clean and spacious enough for a small scale tea shop. There are a-la-carte menu items (pastries, tea) and an afternoon tea menu. Price: $45 for the Royal Tea Experience package which is extremely reasonable considering what you get. There is a 90 mins max for each tea experience. They are pretty booked from what I saw. Food: For the Royal Tea Experience, each of us got: tea of choice, 5 tea sandwiches (Cucumber Dill Cream cheese, Chicken Salad, Egg Salad, Cranberry Turkey pinwheel, Roast Beed Arugula), 2 scones (Vanilla and Strawberry), Cream, Strawberry preserve, berries and some grapes, 3 desserts (mini muffin, Chocolate brownie, some kind of mini cake). The tea pots were a lot smaller than other places I've been to (probably enough for 1.5 cups of tea if filled to the rim). I love the heart-shaped sugar cubes, the size is just enough for a half teaspoon of sugar. They didn't have any milk for the tea set up like other places I've been to. I love the roast beef sandwich balanced flavor; the chicken one is really bland, a dash of curry powder would enhance the flavor more in my opinion; the cucumber needs to be sliced thinner as these slices are rather chunky; the scones are fine - I usually prefer my scones warm but only 1 place I know that serve it that way. The tea selection is decent, I went for Jasmine Rose. I feel that the scent and tea flavor was rather weak. There was barely any scent of each so it didn't leave a big impression on me. I want to try other ones in the future for sure. The staff was super nice to offer an extra tea bag if the flavor is too weak so I went for another bag. Service: Excellent! They were fast, courteous, and friendly. 2 staff made their rounds frequently to check on us and made sure we had enough hot water in our tea pots . Parking: This is where I docked up a star. The parking lot is shared with many businesses in the same strip mall. I came here at 10 AM on a Saturday and the whole parking lot was filled, there was no spot for me to park. My friend had to park all the way on the other side of the mall and I managed to find some parking in the back (side street). Avoid lunch time at all cost, there were cars waiting around as they couldn't find any parking. After the tea experience, we went somewhere else and upon coming back around 3 PM, half the parking lot is empty. If I would give anyone a tip on the parking time, it seems to be ideal around this time.

It really is that good.. and the warm sauce that it comes with is chef's kiss. This place is massive, but don't be fooled. We ordered the following: 1) Nem nuong spring rolls - We ended putting in 3 order for this because one is not enough for each person! My daughter gobbled this up! 2) Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings - Holy moly this was also super good! Perfect crisp and flavor! I also liked the sauteed onions and peppers that accompanied them. 3) Brodard Special - This came with grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, BBQ pork, and nem nuong crispy eggrolls over vermicelli, accompanied with Asian greens, peanuts and lime chili fish sauce. It was perfect since it had a sampler of different items especially when there are so many options on the menu and you get decision fatigue. The staff was also great since they are very efficient when taking orders and when its time to pay the bill. They run a tight ship, but for good reason. Parking can be tricky since it is in a strip mall, but something opened up closer to the grocery store side. All in all, there is a reason why this place is always so busy! They have delicious food!

We ordered a custom cake for my goddaughter's birthday, and while the cake itself was delicious, the service and execution were disappointing. Brooke was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. Unfortunately, the other employee we dealt with was rude, kept interrupting us, and did not seem interested in actually listening to the detailed instructions we gave for the cake. When the final product came out, it was a completely different color than what we had asked for. Brooke did apologize and even mentioned she could help with reimbursement, which I appreciated. The other staff member, on the other hand, did not apologize at all and acted as though the mistake was somehow our fault. I was also told I would receive a callback about the issue, but that never happened. If you want a quick pastry or dessert, this place is probably a solid choice because the products do taste good. But if you need a custom cake for an important event, I would not trust them with it again.
