We had carpenter ants in our attic above the master bath. Our inspector was very professional and seemed to understand the carpenter ant problem we had. After the service, we noticed no change in the number of carpenter ants so we called in the warranty. The next technician was a different guy who started spraying in our living room. We told him where the ants were but he continued spraying floorboards on the other side of the house. He had clearly not been told of the issue. As far as I'm aware no one even went into the attic. Of course, we have seen no change if not an increase in the number of carpenter ants now 4 weeks later. It's very hard these days to get a service without signing up for a subscription. I get these are profit-maximizing organizations, but man can we not get a single individual problem cared for without signing up for a subscription? I don't want a monthly service, I want the problem treated and dealt with. It's not a complicated solution. read more

I have a raccoon nesting in my detached garage (Spring TX). Called Berrett Home Services to schedule them to come out on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 as soon as they could. They set me up for an appointment for Thursday, May 14, 2026 between 3-5pm. I left them my cell phone # and they said they would give me a 30 minute heads up on their arrival. I took a 1/2 off work and arrived home at 2:30pm so that I would be there for the inspection/service. I checked my email and found a 1145am message that they would not make todays appointment and wanted me to call them back to re-schedule, with the earliest available time being Monday. I lost a 1/2's work/pay. They lost my business. I DO NOT recommend them. read more

Customer service with texting , calling and even the service technician Jim Guynes is always great! We haven't seen Jim in a while cause he's so good at what he does he was promoted. So, when we opened the door it was such a blessing. Jim just like the technician Justin are just our families favorite service technicians they are detailed, their listening skills are wonderful and their his attitudes are sweet they are both such respectful guys. Terrible, deceptive company. They are insisting that their warranty begins one month earlier than was communicated previously, and only told this once we informed them that we were canceling. Which then magically changed a inspection that was previously no cost into the same amount as the warranty cost. They were fine for initial work but the warranty is a rip off, and a nightmare to cancel. Absolutely the worst....they may have actually become a criminal enterprise. A year ago they sold me $3000 worth of unneeded rodent exclusion doodads. Did nothing to eliminate the mice. In a subsequent visit by one of their techs, he admitted that I was sold something I didn't need...and attributed it to an the inexperience estimator that they had sent out. I complained multiple times to a manager named Chris...she was absolutely unhelpful, argumentative, and confrontational. I considered taking legal action, but decided to let it drop. Now, one year later, they charged my credit card for a renewal of the warranty...something I had specifically declined (I have the contract here in front of me if anyone has any questions). I used Barrett pest control for a few years at two addresses and four years later after I had cancelled services they tell me I have an outstanding balance so I gave them a call to dispute the balance. I am lied to put on hold and dismissed. I have never had such horrible customer service I've always thought highly of the company but I guess I was WRONG! I will no longer recommend them to anyone. Please BEWARE! I would like to say that KATHLEEN and LESLIE were no help at all. Kathleen put me on hold for 20 minutes to speak with a manager that was not even in the office. I had to call back three times and my issue is still not resolved . When I canceled the service in 2021 I verified there was no outstanding balance, but they said my account is not noted. We're very appreciative of our very knowledgeable serviceman, Tim. He's done a great job every time, and on the rare occasion that we do see something we didn't invite, he's gracious enough to quickly come out and re-treat our house. He's allowed us to really enjoy our new house free of ugly critters. The company, as a whole, is purely for their customers. We did get someone once who apparently used the wrong type of sprayer to treat, and we were left with greasy puddles along the baseboards, kitchen, and bathrooms. We reported it to BPC. They responded by paying for a cleaning company to come to our house and completely wipe away the mess. That's incredible service right there! Called earlier this week and scheduled a consultation for this morning. Drove 40 minutes to the property to be here for the appointment and no one called or showed up during the time window they gave me. I called and they said they hadn't actually put me on the schedule, and the soonest they could get me in was now Monday. Wasted my whole morning. Update. I have now been stood up SIX times by Berrett. Every time the window was 2 hours long. Every time after the first time, I waited by the front window and watched for the technician. 20 before berrett closes, I call to confirm technician is still coming. Each time they tell me yes. Each time they no show. I am now up to 12 hours of my time wasted. I should send an invoice to them for my hourly pay X 12 hours because I could have used that time to make money. I spoke with the service manager who told me the GPS showed the truck at my house. Said the technician out in the notes they knocked, knocked louder, then rang the doorbell. I have two dogs. I know if someone knocks on the door at the end of the block. I have a video doorbell that calls my phone, announces a visitor at front door on echo device, and even records the entire encounter. I also have a security camera on the front. Not to mention the fact I was sitting in the front room watching for the technicians. The last time the technician came out, he said he thinks I have a plumbing leak and they will come out and do a free inspection. I get in touch with plumbing and they said I have to pay a fee for it. There is no way I am spending a penny at this worthless company. Every customer service person I speaks to asks me to leave them a review as they are in some competition. Real customer service would be calling the person and letting them know they are going to be stood up, and not wait around. Real customer service cares about the customer experience, NOT getting the most reviews in some sort of competition. Do I recommend berrett? Not even to my worst enemies. They contacted me almost immediately after I submitted my pest control request and we were able to get something scheduled the following day. Relatively they were a good price. No complaints about the service at my home but the customer service/dispute resolution at the office is subpar at best. I had their service at my home for the monthly service charge of approx $50 per month in early23/late 22. We decided we no longer wanted the service and called to cancel, which they say never happened. They continued to try and collect monthly payments but were unable, so they sent it to collections. If I actually owed them money, I would agree to the collections issue. However, I owe them nothing and both people that I've spoken to said that the money they were attempting to collect was for a FUTURE visit and that I had already paid for the previous 3 visits. How you send something to collections for a service you haven't provided is mind blowing. All this to say, if you cancel, get something in writing. I made a mistake on that and now I'll be fighting it to ensure it doesn't touch our credit. Then they call me back today and say for $180 we will remove this from collections and perform the initial visit again at no cost....nice try, you're charging me 180 for the initial visit "We've been trying to contact you about this issue" yet when I call they had no number attached to my account....interesting read more
