Too bad that this place has fallen so far with service over the past few years. Used to be a favorite, but the service is so ssslllooowww or just downright terrible. Sauces that are on menu with the meal are never brought; I had to always ask. Have to wave someone down every time if you want anything. Orders often incorrect or missing something. I had the most wonderful crab eggs Benedict and my husband had traditional crêpes. The food was amazing! We both tried each other's dish and loved both dishes. I think the most important part of our visit today was the warm service we received from Krissy/Kristin., it's cold out, but from the moment we walked in the door we got a warm greeting and we're treated well by our server, who gave us the right amount of attention the entire time we were there. Now let's talk about the coffee! You don't have to go somewhere special and pay $1 million to get a wonderful warm cup of delicious coffee. I would consider myself a coffee snob. 5 stars were only because McKinley turned the bad experience into a good one. McKinley, awesome job. She definitely turned a wrong into a right. Talked a few seconds, and she brought up that she also works at another restaurant. Hardworking young lady. So let's start with we got seated within 7 min. The table was cleaned but soaked. See one person cleaning the tables. There is too much water on the rag kid. 12:30 we were seated and whomever our waitress was never came back. She kept refilling drinks and coffee. McKinley walked by at 12:46 and was nice enough to take our order on top of the other tables she was already serving. 5 stars were only because McKinley Kudos to her for realizing we hadn't been taken care of and going above and beyond. At this point, it was smooth sailing . She deserves a raise for her outstanding customer service. I hope this review lets this establishment know how valuable she is. We saw two groups of people walk out and others mad about how disorganized it was . I'm not sure if its do to new employees or some employees not carrying their own weight, causing more work for others and dissatisfied customers. Unassuming breakfast place near Walmart. The interior is pretty basic and was not very busy Sunday morning. The service was quick buy there were issues: 1. Lukewarm coffee.... I like everything very hot!! 2. Got a side of gravy with my biscuit.... great flavor but was ice cold. 3. Waiter checked on us 10 minutes after we got out food. I love this place. I cannot believe I've been going here for almost a decade and have never left a review!! I'm sorry guys!! First off, the coffee is incredible. I know other places that say their coffee is the best but this place isn't lying. The food is SO GOOD. The food was ok, but the service was the issue. I waited tables in my youth, so I know the job and what it takes to be good. The waitress never checked back after bringing the food and only offered a coffee refill AFTER I had pushed my plate away. When I asked for the bill, she said I can come to the front. The restaurant was not busy, maybe five tables between two servers. I didn't feel welcome and seemed as if I was bothering her even being there. I would not recommend. I live about 5 minutes away and generally don't come here, decided to try it out again. My order was wrong, I never send back food but I was so grossed out. I asked for medium to well done and they gave me rare. I asked for toast 3 times and the waitress was really confused about it, she had to keep coming back and asking about it. It was included in the meal and not a special request. I got my drink after my food. The manager didn't seem to care in the slightest and actually was kind of rude. They were super nice to us, I had called ahead, day of, to ask if they could accommodate 15 people. Our last minute decision to go eat after a dance recital worked out because they were able to work with us and were very eager to get some tables for us! This place is wicked good. It's a little hard to find, but well worth it. The place is spotless, and we have never had a bad meal here. I came to write this review on behalf of all the gracious servers I witnessed last weekend. I watched three separate employees deal with the most ridiculous customer who walked into a packed cafe and said "I want to eat here but I don't want to wait a long time for my food." The hostess explained they were busy but would indeed try to serve her quickly. She felt the need to make it a long conversation, which made it hard for them to continue serving customers while trying to remain polite to her. The servers placed her order to-go, and when it was ready she then engaged them in a very long, drawn out, conversation and her form of payment wasn't working. She eventually figured it out, but the irony seemed to be lost on her. Not on us though. We watched the drama unfold like a soap opera, over half an hour, four separate employees engaged with her, everyone of them speaking to her kindly, calmly, with a smile. We took in this free entertainment over a brunch of Biscuits and Gravy, Brisket scramble, and Mickey Mouse pancakes for the babe. The servers are always so kind and bring my husband brown sugar for his grits (he's a weirdo), and don't mind when our toddler drops the little jam packages on the ground. Love Benny's Cafe! Located at the end of a strip mall in the Walmart shopping complex, this restaurant is a pleasant surprise. It was busy on Saturday morning at 9:30. We waited all of 3 minutes for an open table. There is plenty of seating which from the outside couldn't be predicted. We were greeted right away by our server. When i ordered coffee, she offered water. THANK YOU...yes, i do also want water and i wish more servers asked this. The coffee I had was one of the best. It had a great fresh and creamy flavor. Had to order biscuits and gravy, my breakfast staple. They come with a side of hash browns ($7). The biscuits were fluffy and covered with the perfect amount of sausage gravy. Benny, you done good Quoted 20-25min wait at 11am on a Sunday. The hostess was right on at 25min before seating us in the loud and chatty room filled with families. There's little waiting area so be prepared to stand. Mary, our server was great! Super friendly, always with a smile and made some suggestions on our selections.
