Overall this is a great spot. I live above the coffee shop in an apt. The convenience is really nice. I can just pop down and grab coffee and work. Overall staff is nice. Coffee is decent. I am here regularly. They give you a piece of paper with a one time code for the Wi-Fi. I don't love that part, but it is what it is. And some of their seating and tables, inside and outside, are a tad janky. Other then that, great location. read more

Nice new location. Pretty quiet since not many people have discovered it yet. I feel like they're going a lil overboard with the social distancing. Almost every chair is turned over. I docked it a star because the WiFi always times out on me it seems. I was FaceTiming and I had to reconnect twice... Plus when I do connect the WiFi is slow. I just did a speed test and I'm getting 7mbps. I was trying to text a picture, the phone was on wifi and the image was taking forever to send, so I took it off wifi and it immediately sent.... I actually lost WiFi Connection while writing this review! I just took my phone off wifi and I'm actually getting a faster connection than on wifi.... read more

Bennu Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Austin, Texas

This is a very tongue in cheek recommendation... as someone who doesn't drink coffee, I typically only order tea and snacks at coffee shops with the understanding that their priority is coffee so I'm okay with it if the tea is average and impressed if it's decent or actually good. I ordered a Ginger Peach iced tea with light ice and it was the most bland, flavorless thing I've ever drank. It tasted like watered down iced tea. I don't know if it's possible that she got my order wrong but whatever it was, I don't imagine that anyone would have wanted to pay for it. I wasn't impressed at all. The banana nut bread was amazing though however, it's from Quacks and they make some of the best backed goods in Austin so that's not surprising... I'm just not too sure how much credit for that I should give to the coffee shop. On the other hand, the place is huge, with several tables and a lot of people work there because the wifi is good so that's a plus in their honor. I'm giving it 3 stars because of my mixed feelings - highly disappointed with the tea, good (outsourced) pastry, reliable WFH spot. I personally wouldn't go there again but I would recommend it if someone needed a coffee shop to work at for a few hours - I would just tell them to order anything but tea. read more

Coffee is good. Cool vibe. Great location. Love the park in the complex. They have dog treats at the counter but don't expect to stay because your dog isn't welcome. And I can't understand why, but the baristas here are so rude and passive aggressive. I have been coming here for a long time and it is consistent. It's the "not my problem" mentality and instead of trying to be helpful they will shut you down or be condescending. read more

I just stood in line for almost 20 min to get a latte. After I watched 3 people that were behind me get their drinks I asked about my drink, the lady says yeah we'll get to it and writes the info on the cup because she clearly forgot to write it before. Instead of apologizing she walks out of the room, and the other guy is texting on his phone for 2-3 minutes before even looking up. Finally, he decided to make my drink. This is the second time this exact crew has done something like this. I'm very disappointed because the rest of the staff is nice and on top of their work with respect. I'm not sure the management cares, but culture is their responsibility. read more

Ok first off - I LOVE that this place is open 24 hours!!! More and more 24 hour places in Austin have been reducing their hours - so it's nice to see that something is still available. The shop is super cute, very clean and airy. It's located near the new, huge Highland ACC campus, and seems to be very popular with the students here. This would be a great place to meet up with people and work on projects, it's pretty quiet and there are a few tucked away spaces. Unfortunately, the coffee is just....ok. Not a great flavor to it, a little weak, but I think it'd be pretty good if you got a flavored coffee. I'd definitely try them again! read more

Possibly my favorite Bennu location here in Austin! They've got plenty of seating inside and they ARE allowing indoor seating to guests if you're looking for a coffee shop to sit in during COVID. Tables are spaced out and all employees are pretty cautious to maintain distance for safety. I ordered an iced vlennu with oat milk (forgot what vlennu stands for since it's been a while -- the barista was really patient and took the time to explain all the options). I really liked it and I'll be back! read more

Bennu Coffee - iced vlennu with almond milk! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Austin, Texas

Amazing coffee shop in Austin, Texas. One of my go tos because it is a 24/7 coffee shop and there aren't many of those after covid. I come here for the late night grind and there is a lot of seating but it is also very busy and popular. As a result, it is hard to find seating if you come in a group. A decent number of outlets. Not too busy if you come at weird hours like midnight. The iced Bennu is my go to drink and one of their most popular drinks. It's like a sweetened pecan cold brew with milk. Super tasty and not overly sweet but still packed with flavor. My only gripe is that one time I ordered a tea and it was more than half ice even though I said less ice. But besides that it is a very reliable and good coffee shop for the those that love the late night coffee shop life style. read more

Man, the attitude of the guy in black shirt, black shaved hair & glasses, he's horrible! It's all over his face that he hates his job! I really like the place, a bit pricey but their cold spiced chai was really good. I just wouldn't recommend coming when this guy is at the front. Ugh... read more

Bennu Coffee - Vegan Chicken Salad Sandwich Wasn't bad at all. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Austin, Texas

Pros: - Plenty of seating & decent amount of outlets - A variety of drinks & mochas! Cons: - The wifi code is given on pieces of paper with your purchase, which is totally fine but it also expires after 3 hours. - The place is a bit loud because it can seat so many people read more

I went here after dinner on a first date, and it's such a cute place. The vibe is definitely very cozy and kinda feels like a home away from home. We also met a barista named Rae. She was so helpful and super sweet. She gave us recommendations, made us both laugh and feel welcomed and comfortable. The drinks she recommended were delicious also! Highly recommend this place. They have coffees named after literature, which is cheesy but cute. Comfy lounge areas, and places to read or study or just hang out. When you go, ask for Rae. She's witty and clever, and she definitely made our night that much better. 10/10 for this cozy coffee spot. read more

This place has good ambiance, but the internet situation is such a hassle that it's not worth it. You have to get a 15 digit code on a little scrap of paper and enter a new one and spend money for every 3 hours of internet. Problem is, my first code kicked me off the internet in the middle of a very long email I'd written, and in only 2 hours. I lost half an hour of work, very frustrating. So I got in line and bought a danish ($7) for another code. My second code kicked me off forty minutes later in the middle of writing a long Facebook post, which I also lost. I'm not into it. This is not hospitality, it's a load of trouble and hassle just to use your laptop and sit at a cafe. No other cafe in town limits the amount of wifi you can use like this--it's just unfriendly. Are they *really* benefitting from rationing wifi like it's a war ration or something and making everyone go through all that? read more

FINALLY a 24/7 coffee shop in Austin again! I was here every day for a week when it relaunched as 24/7 because it was a great environment to catch up on work. Fairly quite (with some conversation as white noise), decent amount of outlets, good lighting, and overall nice decor. Their gourmet mochas are good but sometimes give me heart palpitations while their matcha isn't super strong. The biggest con is that individual wifi only lasts for 3 hours unless you buy something else, but it hasn't been a huge problem for me because I usually want to snack at that mark anyway. It sometimes is inconvenient though. read more

We are very late late night people and with the pandemic killing off almost every 24 hour joint it's hard to find a good option. Bennu at Highland is one of our main places. It's usually crowded with college students but that's to be expected when you're one of the only all night places in Austin. Their lattes and other drinks are excellent. You get wifi for 3 hours with a purchase. All of the employees here are lovely and friendly -- don't forget to tip! read more

Great spot to do remote work, study, or hang with others! Chamomile tea was perfectly fine. There's a pretty wide range of food, drinks, and pastries/desserts (gluten-free options available). There's a good amount of indoor/outdoor seating with outlets. Currently with COVID, they designated which seats you're only able to sit at which is nice. The overall atmosphere of the Bennu is great - clean, fairly quiet, and cozy. Service was friendly and quick. There's street parking in front as well as a parking garage with retail only spots. One thing to note is you do need to purchase something for a Wifi code (totally reasonable), but lasts for only 3 hours. I definitely would come back to this Bennu location again! read more

The coffee, service and everything else is great! However, the WiFi is poor. It is difficult to connect and is not reliable.

This is one of my favorite places to get work done in Austin - I think I wrote at least half a thesis in here The interior is spacious, there's lots of seating/outlets, and the decor is beautiful. Parking is also easy to find nearby. I find it quieter in here than most other coffee shops - a good option if you need to focus. The drinks are ok but nothing amazing; the iced bennu/blennu is good but I mostly came here for the study atmosphere rather than the drinks. Not sure if they're still doing this but when I went the wifi access codes expire after 3 hours and you need to buy something else to get another one. read more

Reliable place to go for good coffee. Nice, cozy and quiet atmosphere, considering the size of the shop. The menu has a ton of drink options and food choices. Lots to do in the surrounding area as well. read more

I discovered this coffee shop a couple of months ago while searching for a place that was open 24 hours. I work from home during the week and also drive for Uber on the weekends. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the ambiance. There are books on the shelves, cool lamps (no fluorescent lights), a variety of tables, a couch, chairs, and stools. They also play great music throughout the day and night at a comfortable volume. Next, is the staff. Every single employee treats you like you are being welcomed into their home. They are attentive, helpful, social, and kind. I spend more time here than I do at my own apartment. Finally, the menu. They have an extensive list of hot and cold coffees, teas, and mochas. They also have an amazing assortment of pastries, that are some of the best I've ever had. I'd give this place 10 stars if that were an option. Highly recommended read more

I absolutely enjoyed this coffee shop. I love that it's big enough to still feel at peace and quiet. I struggle to find quiet and calm shops that are welcoming to people who genuinely want to sit and read while drinking coffee because it may feel more busy and packed. But this location is perfect. I have gotten their oat milk latter and don quixote chocolate drinks and they're both very good. I love this location although the parking situation is a bit weird but i mean that's Austin ‍ Also, the last time i was there me and my best friend got the sweetest note passed to us as we were reading and the person was leaving. it was the cutest drawing of us in our little world i wish we would've opened it sooner and could've gotten the chance to say Thank you but yeah that's a sweet detail. read more

As a 24-hour coffee shop, this is my favorite place to work at early or late hours. Even during regular store hours, I enjoy coming to Bennu because of their cute aesthetics. Each table, chair, and sofa is unique, and the establishment is full of artsy decor. As for their food, their mocha seems to be one of the popular menus, and I like to treat myself to it from time to time. They also have different "meal" items from sandwiches to tacos (available for breakfast/lunch) to pizza, which can be a good option if you're staying for a long period of time. A 3-hour wifi is available for each purchase, and the connection is relatively stable. I'm not sure if it occurs to others as well, but sometimes the wifi kicks me out from the network before the 3-hour time limit is over, and I have to log in a few times. read more

Not my favorite coffee shop in Austin. They put crushed ice in all their iced drinks which I don't really love. I'm not a big hot coffee girl but if I were to get coffee here I'm usually going for the hot. Sometimes the workers are a little rude which also is a turn off. Definitely not my fave spot in town for a coffee read more

A comfortable and reliable coffee shop with a wonderful atmosphere and home of my favorite hot chocolate. There is a lot of seating in here and a very homey environment that keeps me coming back. I can always count on getting a seat and my drinks seem to be the only consistent thing in my life. Half joking. But really consistent quality, never dissatisfied. For all the people that are in there they maintain a mellow and focused environment, about the only place I have found here in Austin where I can get settled in and really focus on my work. My order is a small oat iced latte during the day and its just always good. Not best of the best but I appreciate consistency and I think is something to be admired. At night I go for a hazelnut hot chocolate with oat milk, hands down best hot chocolate ever. 15/10. Once a week you will find me with one of their Celestes Best Vegan Peanut Butter Cups. The only heartbreak I experience here is when those bad boys are sold out. Open 24 hours, cozy, lovely, and somehow rids me of my struggle with staying focused. read more

I like the atmosphere and all of the work spaces. And their mocha was decent (they have a whole menu of different hot chocolates and mochas which was cool). The quality of food and coffee was not good, however. I had a lemon macaron and it tasted old. Like it had been refrigerated for at least a couple of days. And it was $4! The coffee was also not very good quality. I ordered a mediocre latte that was also overpriced for the quality. Service is meh. I wouldn't come back here. read more

This place is a great place to study (comfortable seating and good coffee) EXCEPT the person working makes all the difference. The tall boy always playing quiet music without lyrics which is all around great for studying. The girls and the other shorter boy plays GOD AWFUL music. They were blasting MONSTER HIGH followed by Yeah! by lil jon at 7 pm on a weekday when ALL OF THE CUSTOMERS ARE STUDYING. Won't be returning after this has happened twice. read more

Cute place. Perfect for studying or hanging out. The parking was a little annoying because it's only parallel parking available.

The coffee here is ok, but way too sweet for me. It's even too sweet for my wife and she likes extra sweet flavored lattes. My biggest complaint is that you aren't paying the listed price for their coffee because the cashier adds 20% gratuity automatically and then doesn't offer a receipt. I'm going to stop doing business with shops that behave this way. read more

Rarely do I feel the urge to Yelp a business because of how bad my customer service experience was, but sadly this Bennu location is getting it. It's twice already that I get the same cashier dude and he gives me such rude/entitled vibes. And I get it -- sometimes, one has a bad day and is just unable to uphold a quality, customer-centered standard to their customer. But the fact that it has happened twice now is unacceptable. Sorry Bennu, but please teach your employees some basic customer etiquette. Especially when you ask them what their most popular flavors / drinks / lattes are and they give you a confused look of "what are you talking about?" I've had some exceptional baristas and that kind of question makes their passion for caffeine just ooze through. On to the coffee though: I got the Lavender Latte with Oat milk. I personally think it is okay, but my coffee connoisseur friends think it's really bad. The actual vibes in there are nice and always filled with students, plus it's 24/7. Their breakfast tacos are awesome and their Bennu pie (pizza) is alright. 2.5 stars overall. read more

Bennu Coffee - Lavender Latte w/ Oatmilk - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Austin, Texas

We came on a Sunday afternoon and there were quite a few people, but we were able to find a table and got our drinks pretty quickly. The atmosphere was really cool, very classic-study, library vibes. The rock music didn't really fit the coffee shop ambience, but they did play some good songs, so I'm not complaining (maybe just a little). I got the Oliver Twist mocha with almond milk, which was a mixture of mocha and caramel. It wasn't my favorite mocha ever, there was a little bit of a weird aftertaste, but I did really like all the creative options for mochas they had, as that's my go-to. Em got pecan Larry, which was a pecan-flavored cold brew, with half-and-half and sugar. She would get it again, but with light ice, since it was pretty watered down when it melted. Would recommend! Overall, we really enjoyed it and would probably come again. Keep an eye out for the hidden door, that was a pretty awesome little detail that we weren't expecting! This is my new fav! I love going to yoga next door and then coming here to work for the morning. The drinks and treats are awesome. I feel like every coffee shop has breakfast tacos but Bennu has tamales and it allows me to mix it up sometimes. I've probably been here 3x/week for the last few weeks and the service is always great. They take their COVID precautions seriously but there's still ample seating. I've never not been able to get a seat and, unless it's in the middle of e room, plugs are ample to say the least. Big plus! Parking is also great - some free spots out front but also a free garage right behind with direct access. Unfortunately, I had to take off a star because the wifi is really unreliable. I also just use my hotspot from my phone but that can be annoying because it drains the battery really quickly. I've been to the other Bennu locations and I feel like this is a trend with their wifi. read more
