Has a memory like you wouldn't believe regarding locations of moving from and to .. assembling difficult entertainment centers etc.! He really managed the crew and identified early that we needed additional help and another truck. He was able to get his brother to help and acquire another large truck so that we were able to stay on schedule. The entire move was incredible. The movers wrapped everything incredibly well including many large paintings etc. they didn't damage the house we left or the house we moved to or even 1 piece of our furniture! It was very hard to believe actually with the volume and size/weight of many of the items. They were prompt with both moves and showed up at 8am both mornings even after getting to sleep at 3am the night in between moves. Can't thank them enough! Extremely impressed and highly recommend!! I had had a great experience with them just last year when I last moved and knew they'd be able to get the job done again. My project was immediately responded to and they were able to help me move two weeks later on their soonest available date. The three movers, Pat, Renaldo, and Kevin were incredible. Communication leading up to the move and theday of was great. They were able to move all my large furniture within 2 hours. Everything was wrapped carefully and efficiently. They were kind and thoughtful, helping me make adjustments to the furniture layout once we got to the destination. Their positivity through one of the hardest situations I've ever gone through was much-needed and made me feel confident in entering this next chapter. I even had a last minute change to the destination (originally everything was going into storage but I ended up finding an apartment just in time), and the professionalism and patience from the entire Bookstore team through this change was excellent. Pricing was reasonable yet again and came out to about $500 (excluding tip) for the truck fee and moving of 16 large items. Thank you Bookstore Movers for helping me when I needed it most!

We were disappointed with our recent experience with Bookstore Movers. The crew was polite, but the…read moremove felt much slower and less efficient than it should have been. We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. Overall, would definitely recommend PMC - they're easy to work with, fair and transparent about pricing and you're sure to be met with professionalism!

They showed up on time, brought all their own packaging equipment which is huge, and were efficient in the move. I was charged a bit more than I was expecting from the quote, so that is why it's only 4 stars. But comparatively, it is much cheaper than a majority of the other movers in the DMV. My couch wouldn't fit up the stairs to my place and they were willing to hold the couch at their warehouse until I figured out what to do with it, which I very much appreciate. I didn't need it in the end but it was great that they offered.

Moving day was made far easier with the best moving team, "Bay, Garcia and Nahun." We were so fortunate to have had their help and muscles. Bay's communication keeping the move on time was outstanding. Upon arriving at the "Public Storage" facility at Seven Corners in Virginia, my daughter and this patient moving team were welcomed by a serious issue not previously disclosed. The elevator was out of service, and the storage unit was on the third floor. The gentleman could have requested a reschedule right then, but no. The BoxStar Super Stars jumped into action. They moved my daughters one-bedroom apartment out of the storage unit and into their truck in record time, including a very heavy sleeper sofa, down three flight of stairs in a narrow stairwell. From the storage unit, they moved her belongings into her house, placing every piece of furniture with expert care. We estimated a three house move time and despite the elevator snafu, Bay, Garcia, and Nahun delivered on time. Working with BoxStar Movers was perfect. The whole BoxStar team is absolutely wonder, polite, kind, and so many great words to describe them. Thank you all.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid…read more We had a small portion of items remaining at our house, sent pictures ahead of time, and they sent out a three person crew. The items were mainly consolidated into main areas, anticipating that it would make it easier for the moving crew to quickly pack and move the items to the trailer. They were here for over 9 hours, packed the truck half full vertically, but filled the 28 foot horizontally. This is something I would expect from college kids who have zero experience as you get charged every foot horizontally you take up in cross country moves. So now, not only are we out $2300 for these movers, we are out an extra 3k because they used twice the amount of space that was actually needed if they had done it correctly. Scheduling this company and receiving a quote that was SPOT on, was amazing. The communication from Ana was perfect. She kept me in the loop about arrival time, send out a confirmation about my booking, and even helped me change my original date to something sooner. Originally, I was quoted a timeframe between 1-5pm, they showed up an hour EARLIER! To some this may have been the part where you panic, especially if you are running small items back and forth to your new place, to me?? This was PERFECT, because I was able to have a headstart for my long moving day. The truck was large enough, both movers came in and were polite, patient, and did not make me feel uncomfortable when handling my items. They wrapped all dressers, tv stands, coffee tables, and TVs and ensured everything was delivered carefully. No frills, no stalling for extra time (you do get charged hourly if you exceed your allowed time), and just straight to business. All in all, I do recommend booking for your next move, the price is unbeatable and the workers are great. Once again thank you very much!
