Updated Review (previously 5 stars) due to poor management response:…read more Management has changed since my last visit, and boy, this place is not what it used to be, and that makes me sad. About four years ago, I happily gave this restaurant 5 stars and recommended it to others. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was the complete opposite. During my meal, I discovered ANTS actively crawling around my food. (See video) It was disturbing to watch them around the sauce next to my meal, and I immediately stopped eating because I no longer felt comfortable consuming the rest of it. What disappointed me even more was how management handled the situation afterward. It was extremely difficult to get in touch with the manager despite multiple attempts. When I finally spoke with him, he refused to provide a refund because more than 30 days had passed since my visit. Given the nature of the complaint and the difficulty I had reaching management, I found that response completely unreasonable. I also raised concerns about being asked questions during my visit that made me feel racially stereotyped. Those concerns were never acknowledged or addressed by management, which only added to my disappointment. Because I believed this was a legitimate food safety issue, I filed a complaint with the Fairfax County Health Department. After investigating, the inspector informed me that they visited the restaurant, discussed my concerns with the manager, and that the manager confirmed my reported ant sightings. The Health Department also required additional pest control measures. Beyond the service issues, I also noticed a significant decline in the food. The wonton soup was bland and lacked the rich flavor I remembered, and the General Tso's Surprise tasted off and was missing the depth and spice that used to make it one of my favorite dishes. This restaurant used to be one of my favorite vegetarian spots, which is why writing this review is so disappointing. Based on my recent experience, the difficulty in getting in touch with management, and their total lack of customer service or care for loyal customers, I can't recommend dining here. They do not care about their customers based on how I was treated.

I asked our server if I could have tofu in the sushi roll instead of the fake shrimp and he just simply said no. No explanation. Later I asked if I could have gluten free noodles in the lo mein and he also just said "no". My dad asked if they could lower the lights a bit and also - no. Zero accommodation. The food was not good, simply put. Waiter didn't bring out any birthday candle for me either. I was excited to try this place out and unfortunately it was not for me. I would look past the heat and the lack of accommodations if the food actually tasted good. Sorry :/

We have been coming here on and off the last few years and just recently came to eat a late brunch. The food took a very long time to come out and it was pretty disappointing in flavor. We had the breakfast burger which was just okay. The breakfast hash was lacking salt. The margarita was just so-so. We got the Sunrise bowl which was tasty and can be made without dairy. The Korean noodle bowl and the Korean steak is awesome. We also had the avocado toast which was decent. The breakfast taco was delicious and can be made dairy free. It is absolutely delicious with all the flavors coming together. It has eggs with roasted onions and mushrooms and sweet potatoes. It has since left the menu. We wish they would bring it back. The pancake is very good and can be served with coconut milk,dairy-free whip cream in lieu of regular whipped cream if you need to have it dairy-free. We love the Moscow mule that is made by the manager, Michelle. Their Thai peanut noodle bowl was very good. You can add your own protein to the plate but it makes it a little pricey but healthy. The desserts are all really pretty good: vegan/dairy free cookies and cream, and the vegan squash pie is delicious. The flourless chocolate cake was also delicious, not too sweet. We like the new espresso Martini. They can also make you a dairy free affogato, which is a scoop of their dairy free coconut ice cream with a shot of espresso. If you like coffee, this is delicious. Their shot of espresso is bold and tasty. This place has great options for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and health conscious people. They use fresh and healthy ingredients.

They seemed a little short-handed when we arrived with one waitress covering about 7 or eight tables and manning the bar. She was awesome and had a great attitude as she hustled to serve guests. She got reinforcements which helped a lot. My wife and I each had the Sojourn Dwell IPA and it was out of this world. For food, we had not one but two portions of the house made pickles because they are so darn good! We also had the pancake which my wife loved but I thought was so-so. The pork belly bao was delicious! We also shared an order of the Three-Cup Sauce wings. They were sweet and well-cooked. The place has a very minimalist vibe with excellent music playing while we were there. It's not everyday you get "You're The Best" from Karate Kid playing in the background! It got VERY crowded around 6:30 when a bunch of people all showed up at the same time and it got pretty loud too, mostly due to a big group of mildly drunk people standing in the bar area. It made it hard to hear but really wasn't that bad. The bill seemed about right for hearty dishes and a couples of beers each. We will DEFINITELY come back!

Decided on this little spot in Fairfax town center after having a quick weekend day trip to DC. Really pleasantly surprised with the whole atmosphere of the place. It's a true fusion of asian bites but still a legitimate dive bar. The space is small, patrons are merry, and the whole place is an absolute vibe. I ordered some pilsner and some other lager on tap from local breweeies. Delicious. Ordered popcorn chicken, pork belly, and some 'real food' - a quick rice bowl with chicken. The fried bites were wonderfully crispy. They have good oil management and felt quite light especially with a swig of a cold lager. The rice bowl was tasty too. Construction was indeed very Taiwanese, and yet... I still felt like I'm in a dive bar complete with all its grunge. So cool They sell 4/6 packs of craft brews here too. They've got stuff all the way up from some Vermont and Maine (true craft beer land IMO)

I ordered an entrée with three sides: grilled vegetables, roasted heirloom carrots, and mac and cheese. Everything was made to order, so my meal arrived fresh and flavorful. The olive oil-roasted vegetables were simple but well seasoned and satisfying. The roasted heirloom carrots were unique as they were seasoned with za'atar and served with whipped feta, which added a delicious flavor. The mac and cheese, however, was just average. I'm not a big fan of gluten-free pasta, and I found it a bit too chewy. It also didn't absorb the cheese sauce very well, so it wasn't as creamy or flavorful as I had hoped. I also tried the draft kombucha, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. The service was quick, even during a busy weekend lunch, and a staff member was friendly. The restaurant itself has a cute, welcoming interior with plenty of seating, so finding a table wasn't an issue. Overall, I had a really enjoyable meal and thought it was well worth the price. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

First visit I had no issues but the second time I came I asked why the serving was so small after showing a photo of my previous order and was told that I was mistakenly give a double portion. The Combination platter of Paneer Enchilada and Potato Spinach and Cheese Taquito along with an a la carte Caulilflower taco was a great way to sample the menu! The Paneer Kathi roll is hands-down the best kati roll I've had! The Paneer Enchilada hit the spot with a creamy cheesy Tikka sauce while the the Spinach Cheese Potato Masala Taquito had a spicy kick! The Mexican rice was great for mopping up the sauce and absorbing the spiciness. It was a bummer the Cauliflower Taco wasn't an option for the Combination Platter of 3 (only the meat tacos were an option). I'm glad I ordered it a la carte for $8 - it was worth it! The crispy Cauliflower had a sweet and tangy sauce stuffed in 2 thin tortillas. Interestingly enough, all 3 items - the Enchilada, Taquito and taco had completely different sauces and flavors. The Happy Hour from 3-6:30pm Mon-Fri has good deals - try the Kathi Paneer roll! The roll is a generous size with tender scrumptious paneer stuffed in warm cheesy tortilla. I'll opt out of the jalapenos/chili next time. it added a spicy kick! The Masala Fries were like Indian version of spicy Disco fries. They were fun to try, but they were soggy from all of the sauce and a bit too spicy. I wish the sauces came on the side. The $8 flavored Margarita on happy hour is a great deal. I enjoy the Guava Margarita. The complementary chips were fine and a bit salty, nothing really special (I wouldn't fill up on them). The giant Watermelon Pina Colada Mocktail was very sweet and tasted like watermelon cotton candy slushie. My daughter loved it! I wasn't a fan of the Classic Margarita, Mezcal Passion fruit Margarita, or the Sangria on happy hour, the flavors weren't quite balanced out. The drinks were very tangy flavor and I wish the sangria was a bit sweeter and had a heavy flavor from the Triple Sec. I threw up outside the restaurant after drinking the Mezcal Passion fruit Margarita. Note - the restaurant doesn't take online or phone reservations for parties under 10, but I didn't wait long (10 min) for a party of 5 for Saturday lunch at 1pm (3 of 5 had to be there). Excited to come back to satisfy my cravings for the Paneer Enchiladas and Paneer Kathi Roll and Guava Margarita on happy hour!
