I am in the area to visit my friends often. I recently came across this place while googling for Indian food near my friend's house. They have authentic South Indian food which is very hard to find. Lamb biryani was very delicious. It's Hyderabadi style dum biryani. Not too spicy. Goes very well with the raitha and the curry. Dosa was very good as well. Highly recommend this place. Prices are better than other places. They have a very small sit down place at the India bazaar. It is a self service place.

This small eatery is located inside India Bazaar. While shopping for groceries, the smell of the food was too good to resist, so I grabbed a Mysore masala dosa and an onion chilli masala dosa. The dosas were Huge! But,the taste was just average. The sambar was disappointingly bland and lacked any real flavor. On the plus side, the coconut chutney was quite tasty, and the tomato chutney was on the spicy side and decent. However, there were a couple of major issues. First, the plates were ridiculously small for the enormous dosas, causing them to hang over the edges and touch the table - not very hygienic. Second, there was no drinking water available! A food establishment without water is simply unacceptable. Lastly, the service was subpar-ordering was via kiosk, but staff were disinterested and packing up by 7:45 pm on a Saturday.

Actually delicious! Ended up getting the masala Dosa with all the chutneys and the sambar. They did not hold back. The crepe was extremely crispy full of stuffing. It was almost too much food and I couldn't finish it. The chutneys are very heavy. I especially like the orange one which was extra spicy and it is located inside the India Bazaar. Until one of my friends pointed it out to me. I never would have realized it was there even though it was right in front of my face lol You go to the counter and order and then they either bring you your food or you pick it up at the counter. It is bare Bones service so just keep that in mind. It is not a restaurant experience by any means. For the price of $10, really there's nothing to complain about. When I go shopping here I definitely plan to shop and dine yet again! My friend also told me their biryani is on point so I might try that in a future visit.

It's inside a grocery store . You pick up food. We ordered boneless chicken Biryani. It's just too hot . Extremely spicy . Would not recommend this Biryani.

This restaurant is located within the India Bazaar grocery store, and I was thankful to find it because by the time I finished grocery shopping I was craving some Indian food. I ordered the idly and a mysore masala dosa. The idly was good - good texture and the accompanying sauces were delicious. The dosa was well-made and massive! I loved how crunchy the outside was, but how chewy it was on the inside. My only mistake was ordering the mysore masala version - it was incredibly spicy, the inside completely lined with red chilis. In the future, I would order a different dosa just to save me some sweating and tears The sambar served with the idly was also some of my favorite sambar I've had. Flavorful, not too rich or heavy. My only complaint was that while my food came out quickly, my friend's food took a very long time to arrive. I can't wait to return on another grocery store run and try something else!

It is located inside Indian Bazaar. I originally came here to do some grocery shopping and didn't even realize they had a restaurant inside. I decided to place an order for Hyderabadi Dum Goat Biryani, Daal, and Chicken Chilli. The Chicken Chilli was absolutely delicious! The restaurant was not very crowded when I arrived to pick up my order, so the service was quick and smooth. Once I got home and tried everything, I was genuinely impressed. Here's how I would rate each dish: Chicken Chilli: 5/5 Biryani: 4.5/5 Daal: 4/5 The Chicken Chilli stood out the most. It features crispy fried chicken pieces tossed in a spicy, tangy sauce made with soy sauce, green chilies, garlic, and bell peppers. The flavors were bold, with the perfect balance of heat, sweetness, and a slight smokiness from being wok-fried. In terms of pricing, I highly recommend this place. They offer better quality food at very reasonable prices, making it a great value for what you get. I will definitely be coming back to try more items from their menu!

A true mark of authenticity is seeing Indian families dining here--and the food absolutely lives up to that standard. You're warmly greeted upon arrival, and the service is polished, attentive, and welcoming. The décor is stylish yet comfortable, creating an inviting dining atmosphere. After four years away, it was wonderful to return and see the buffet back. The selection of savory dishes is impressive, complemented by desserts and drinks--including an excellent mango lassi. This is a family-owned restaurant that takes great pride in both food and hospitality. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality offered. Highly recommended, and don't miss their sister restaurant in Falls Church, Mumbai Central, which upholds the same exceptional standards.

It has those above-and-beyond touches that let you know that extra care went into it: the meat and naan cooked in the tandoor oven always has just the right amount of brown; the vegetables have just the right amount of caramelization. The sauces are deep and flavorful. The gradation of spiciness is nicely linear -- you won't get surprised when you jump up one level. The plating and presentation is simple and delightful. There is quite a variety of mixed drinks on offer! My absolute favorite is the boozy chai. This one might be one of my favorite drinks of all time; it's very much like an apple cider with just the right kind of alcohol in it. It's warm, rich, deliciously spiced (not spicy, spiced), and it has a wonderful layer of foam on top. Definitely try this. To cap it all off, the service here is always impeccable. Good recommendations, excellent balance of presence and leaving us to our devices. We very much appreciate whenever we get to eat during Sujal's shift, so please pass along our thanks to him as well! This place is fantastic. I cannot praise it more. We will be moving away from the area in the coming months, and will be very sad to lose it has an option. If we're ever in the area again, we will not miss the opportunity to eat here! (For the record, I am not AI just because I used an em dash!)

Plump, tender shrimp swimming in a velvety tomato-cream sauce with real backbone -- that warm, layered heat that builds slow and lingers just long enough to make you reach for more. It's the kind of dish where the spice actually means something: cumin, coriander, a whisper of clove, and a chili kick that says the kitchen isn't playing it safe. We ordered it medium and it hit that perfect sweet spot where flavor and fire are in balance. The garlic naan was the ideal partner -- pillowy, blistered, and dripping with garlic, perfect for mopping up every last drop of that sauce (and trust me, you'll want to). The Chicken Hakka Noodles brought a totally different energy: smoky wok-tossed heat, springy noodles, and that savory Indo-Chinese punch with just enough chili to keep things interesting. Everything arrived hot, sealed tight, and right on time -- no leaks, no sad soggy containers, nothing lost in transit. Generous portions, free delivery, and food that tastes like it came straight off the stove. If you like your Indian food with genuine spice and soul, Bansari delivers. Literally. Highly recommend!

First of all, the service is impeccable; from the moment, I walked in, the host and manager were both so kind and hospitable in a way that felt natural, while also going above and beyond. And the decor: easily the most beautiful restaurant I have ever been in. Full stop. Just a fun experience, without even getting into food and drink. There isn't a bad seat in the restaurant, and I would even want to come sit at the fun bar. Ok, food and drink. I got a sangria, which was easily as good as any you would find in a Spanish restaurant--not too sweet. They have a fun "street food" appetizers section that isn't on most Indian menus--we got the dilli ki shaan, which were kind of like potato salad in a crispy shell? And for my main, I had the coconut machi curry with fish--omigod, it was so flavorful!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. My friend got the mewa murg tikka, and I think that delicious, flavorful, savory, smokey chicken may have even been better than my dish. The habanero and cheese naans were also pretty good. The Lamb in the lamb saagwala and the goat in goat biryani and goat curry were tough--so tough that I knew they were just thrown in the dish without the long braise that is necessary to make lamb and goat tender. Even the tandoori wings had little of the expected taste. The bill for the lunch was $106 and they forgot to include the naan (that was supposed to be included in each luncheon special.) When I called later they refused to deliver the naan to our house (less than a half mile away) or issue a refund. After so many good experiences there (I have eaten there at least 50 times) I am so upset that I have to say that something is very wrong. New ownership? The one waitstaff was brand new, also. The restaurant was fairly busy when we visited, so I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the service was. We ordered the chili garlic noodles, ragda pattice (for the full Mumbai street food experience), date naan, and the paneer lababdar that was recommended by the staff. Every single dish was flavorful and delicious. The paneer lababdar was especially good, and the date naan was a pleasant surprise. As for the service, the staff were perfectly polite and efficient, though not particularly warm or engaging. Nothing negative at all--just not the type of place where the staff goes out of their way to chat. That said, with food this good and a restaurant this busy, it hardly affected the experience. Overall, the food was absolutely the star of the show. If you're looking for flavorful Indian food in the area, Mumbai Central is definitely worth a visit.
