Curry Mantra is my go-to place for a lunch deal! I discovered them on Uber eats and was impressed with their biryani dish. You can gauge the spice but it is some of the best within the Fairfax area. The atmosphere itself is a quaint little location down Main Street. I usually call in the order or order through pickup but the service is friendly and efficient. I will say it can be a bit pricey depending what you order, which is why I sometimes suggest ordering through the app as they also have some buy one get one free deals on their butter chicken and other dishes. I love their Chana (chickpeas) the sauce it's in is so savory and flavorful. Combined with the soft fluffy biryani rice it is a delicious mix!

The food was so good I took some to go for my husband. The samosas are a bit pricey, but I loved them, especially the one with the toppings. I ordered the extra spciey chicken shwarma, and it was amazing! Cons: I ordered a mojito, and they didn't have any. Then i ordered a margarita, and it was so salty, and i couldn't taste the alcoho. Also, the online orders are not the same. I ordered food during the week and had the butter chicken, and it was watery and tasted like tomato sauce. I also ordered it extra spicey, and it wasn't even mild.

very cute cozy restaurant with great service! we ordered the mango lassi, chicken saagwala, and butter chicken with cheese naan on the side. the lunch menu from 11am-3pm was pretty worth it. the portion size may look big but don't be fooled! however, it does fill you up very fast. i really enjoyed the creaminess of the chicken saagwala. it's my favorite desi dish. the chicken in both our curry orders were incredibly tender and not dry at all. the two samosa came with a sweet chutney and green chutney sauces on the side. pairs very well. it was a bit dry, but the fillings were very full and tasty nonetheless. aaand the mango lassi was ok. will have to come back !

An Indian restaurant just outside of Fairfax City, Curry Mantra is a pleasant place, with pretty decor and friendly staff. We had Garlic Naan, Kadai Chicken and Chana Masala, all of which were good, and spiced as ordered.

The food is super delicious. It took a little while to come out when the restaurant was empty but it was worth the wait. Also a great lunch special

Service was fantastic and really on top of waters. Everything we ordered is on the receipt- all was delicious, especially the goat curry.

I met a new friend here for a quick lunch together... I ordered my Chicken Tikka Masala SPICY and it came out medium spicy. No big deal.... The food was still yummy regardless. She looked cute, and ordered something vegetarian from the daily special menu, but I don't remember what it was. I remember that she liked it. The decor is here is a little bit intense, maybe a little too much RED.

Mixed grill lamb, chix ground lamb and shrimp! The spinach was very spicy! The lamb was tough! Butter chix was great!

A true mark of authenticity is seeing Indian families dining here--and the food absolutely lives up to that standard. You're warmly greeted upon arrival, and the service is polished, attentive, and welcoming. The décor is stylish yet comfortable, creating an inviting dining atmosphere. After four years away, it was wonderful to return and see the buffet back. The selection of savory dishes is impressive, complemented by desserts and drinks--including an excellent mango lassi. This is a family-owned restaurant that takes great pride in both food and hospitality. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality offered. I am so glad I googled instead of yelp that night because this amazing restaurant would never have showed up in my yelp search. Well, I parked my car and read some reviews. Pics and reviews on google looked great so I decided to give them a try. As I walked in, I didn't see any customers. Maybe because it was around 8 pm. I asked the host on why there were no customers. She said they are a new restaurant and they are getting a lot of foot traffic on the weekends and mostly the orders are via online. I did see a lot of delivery services stop by while I was having my dinner. They have a nice selection of food from the southern region called Madurai hence the name Madurai cafe. One of my favorites is their chicken thali. So I ordered that as my first meal here. It comes with chicken curry, chicken 65, white rice, parotta, appalum, sambar and rasam. So delicious. They serve thali only on the weekdays. I have been here a couple of other times on the weekdays after playing golf in the area. I tried mutton and chicken biryani, mutton varuval, sambar vada and ghee dosa. Everything tastes so authentic and very delicious. Ghee dosa portion was slightly smaller than expected. Ambiance is good. Nice comfortable seating. It's self serve. Parking space is limited.

As Yousif A. said: "Food - good. Service terrible." I would add "Drinks okay straight out of a…read morebottle, but don't count on competent cocktail mixing". Went there to try it out, with the wife. We stood in the entryway for what seemed like five minutes before anybody acknowledged that we were there and asked how many in our party. We sat down, perused the menu, made up our minds, and waited for what seemed like ten minutes before anybody came by to take our order. So, don't go there if you're in a hurry. (Or maybe they were just very shorthanded tonight? The place seemed at maybe 20% capacity.) We wanted drinks, but there were no drinks in the menu, nor a separate drinks menu on the table, so we asked for a drinks menu... and the waiter went off to get the bar menu. He didn't seem familiar with it when we ordered drinks. That said, ordering the food went fine, he asked what spice level we wanted, and recapped the whole order to make sure. The drinks arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and my wife's wine was fine, but my piña colada was full of pineapple pulp, clogging up the straw. The very NAME MEANS "strained pineapple", so there shouldn't be much if any pulp! Now for the good part. The food arrived surprisingly quickly. Both the paneer karaikudi and gongura chicken curry were delicious, medium spicy. (No idea how they compare to elsewhere; I decided on them to try them.) Then it was another long wait to try to catch someone's eye, to get the bill and some to-go boxes. (It would have been easier to catch the eye of the guy at the bar except for the bill of his baseball cap -- yes, worn indoors, but at least not backwards.) He brought the boxes and a bag (nice touch) and the bill at the same time, which made it a bit awkward juggling all that and my wallet and credit card, since there was nearly no room on the table to put anything. So overall, it seems to me like the kind of place started by a great fast cook, who doesn't know much about hiring good people to help actually run a restaurant, and didn't happen to do well this time around. I would try again in six months or so, hoping that he's read the reviews and taken corrective action re the staff, but by that time I'll have moved out of town.

I am happy to say overall it was very good! Now sadly I forgot to take pictures of the food but I was so hungry I just ate without thinking haha. But we got a plain dosa, Keema Dosa and a chicken briyani. And overall I enjoyed the food! the menu is sooo different from alot of places. Like its is very expansive (pretty intimidating) and so many options to choose from haha. the only issue I had with the food was the briyani because I wish there was little more chicken mixed in. But not bad. I gave this a 4 stars because as much as I liked what I got, service was good and decor is fire. Because there is so many options I wonder if they are constantly good across all the dishes. But if you are reading this dont let this 4 start deter you its more like I cant give out 5 stars unless I am confident. I will be going back for sure and will update this post in future.

This being a vegetarian south Indian restaurant my intention was to choose between a dosa or some chickpeas and fried bread. The menu had enough pleasures that I ended up taking the option for a thali. Unlike most places that simply give you a preset meal, here you can order the centerpiece, and then you get a bunch of side dishes to go with it. Thus, I ordered some okra and got an interesting spread of lentil, based dishes, cheese, a fresh bread, and an interesting dessert called payasam. They did not ask me for a spice level, but the spice level on my okra was quite robust, and overall it was a heck of a meal with mixed tastes and textures. The place serves bottled water for some reason and does not offer a ton in the way of ambience or service, but the food is a good reason to come. Well, I was OK with my decision to defer on some of the more typical orders, gazing over at other tables suggests that ordering a dose of here is probably a sound decision.
