Absolutely love this spot! First off, you cannot review Bellini without talking about the vibe + aesthetic. Mr. C Hotel outdid themselves. Every detail of this hotel + restaurant was well thought out. Think, nautical meets European glam - so chic! Rooftop dining done right. We had no reservation and were only given a 30 min wait on a Friday night which is pretty great considering you're in the Grove. So, we started with cocktails at the bar. I got my usual Margarita on the Rocks, and I have to say they make a good cocktail. We were seated shortly after, not even 20 min after we arrived! We ordered the Bruschetta del Giorno to start and to our suprise it was a fusion on the traditional Bruschetta. The dish was made up of one traditional tomato and mozzarella, but they gave us a twist with a mushroom + parmesan and an avocado + burrata bruschetta. This was the perfect appetizer. I ordered the Gnocchi del Giorno for my main course, which happened to be the Four Cheese Gnocchi that day. One word: DECADENT. So creamy, so good! Still dreaming about it. Both dishes hit all of the spots and paired wonderfully with a beautiful bottle of the Siesta Malbec 2016 recommend by our wonderful waiter. I am not a big red wine fan, but I would buy this bottle again and again! Lastly for dessert, we got the tiramisu and the pistachio gelato. The pistachio gelato was outstanding. Wonderful view and scenery and the staff was stupendous with accommodating my wife's birthday dinner celebration. It's important to note this restaurant is incredible but comes at a higher price with not the greatest portion sizes. Nevertheless, staff did an excellent job catering to our dinner. We came here for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was very disappointing. We ordered an omelet and it took more than 30 minutes to get it even though the restaurant was maybe 30% full. When it finally came the omelet was extremely underwhelming. It wasn't bad but it wasn't particularly good. For a 5 star hotel, it's a bit embarrassing. We also asked for a side of potatoes which they charged $13 when that's basically the price of the omelet with the potatoes... Also we asked which cheese they had for the omelet: they said only cheddar... mind you this is a fancy italian restaurant.. You go there for lunch you get parmesiano reggiano and probably other italian cheeses. Somehow in the same kitchen in the morning they can't offer you any of those cheeses? It doesn't make any sense. I was called the day after our dining at Bellini and was accused of trying to leave without paying. I told the waiter there was no where to sign, after I and my guests gave our credit cards to him, but he ignored me so I signed the receipt I was given. I then stood at their doorway for at least 15 minutes after another guest slipped on a wet floor (no signs) and fell - and could have easily been approached during that time if there was a problem. (What's more horrifying, a worker continued mopping right up within inches of the older woman on the ground.) Service also was terrible and food mediocre. Very disappointing. read more

The food was so great here im the past. The food has gone downhill right along with the service. Definitely not like it use to be or even close to the location in NYC. Tomatoes are definitely genetically modified. The pasta was not done. Only thing that was decent was our drinks. Big disappointment. The table was crowded with dishes that where clearly done. This place was recommended to us by an old friend. I really wanted to like this place. We are locals and are always looking for a new restaurant to try. It's a place upstairs of a hotel in coconut grove. Great ambience and super cute decor, but our experience was not what we were expecting, from the moment we entered. We had a reservation that I had made weeks before to celebrate a birthday, and we still waited over 30 min. While everyone else coming in was being seated. The place was packed with servers and staff and we still had to ask for water and bread while other tables around us, seated after us were getting the service. My daughter ordered the stuffed tortellini and it came out cold. Forget about room temperature. She refused to send her food back. I ordered the steak with a salad which was super uninteresting and messy. The best plate was the sea bass, which was okay at best. Prices were what we would expect for a nice dinner out, however the pasta we ordered and service it was definitely not $300 worth in my opinion, we wouldn't recommend it to anyone and we won't be back. read more

Stayed at Mr. C for the 4th of July, hotel just re-opened for the weekend and decided to book last-minute. I decided to make a reservation for dinner on the 4th since there was a 10pm corona-curfew and didn't want to be on a mission in the street. The restaurant is "OK" - really nice view and the main reason I chose to dine there, staff was also polite. I ordered the Grove Mule (which was nice), Seared Scallops to start (also nice) and the branzino (salty). Want to give them the benefit of the doubt as operation under coronavirus restrictions likely makes things a bit more difficult and they're just starting to get back into the swing of things. read more

I almost never write negative reviews but this service here really is notably terrible. I ate here recently with my family and our waiter, Daniele, took nearly 40 mins just to get our drink orders, then "memorized" our food order, got most of it wrong, and was pretty much impossible to get ahold when we needed basic things like water, our check etc. Once you did manage to get his attention he was borderline hostile and treated us like we had some nerve to bother him to order a second round of drinks etc. It was almost bizarre how bad he was at being a basic waiter. The floor of our table was also flooded for some reason when we were seated and when we asked if someone could bring a towel or something to clean the slippery mess soaking into our long dresses, he just disappeared for 30 minutes and completely forgot about it entirely. Of course he didn't need to care about doing his job because either way, with 6 people at our table, 18% tip is automatically allocated in the check for him. I've been to this restaurant once before and seen people at nearby tables struggle with the unnecessarily haughty waitstaff so unfortunately I don't think Daniele is special or unique in this regard. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant. The view might be nice during the day but there are plenty of nearby restaurants with equally nice views that offer a much better experience without Bellini's unprofessional staff. read more

On girls night out and not ready to end a fabulous evening, we were lured into a spot that looked interesting and still open. Imagine our surprise when the front desk host told us there was an additional bar, on the fifth floor. Off we went to check out this hidden place. At that late hour, we were blown away the restaurant appeared full with few available tables. We asked for a table but were advised these were reserved for dinner patrons. We were then directed to the bar and lucky for us, we had enough chairs thanks to the host, that accommodated us and brought the additional stool needed for our group. Upon sitting, we were greeted and provided with a menu. Although the choices were plenty, how could I order anything but a Bellini? The drinks were quickly served along with a complimentary small plate of cheese and olives. Sipping my Bellini quickly transported me to a Venice trip a few years ago. It was served in a chilled glass, lovely and perfect. We fully enjoyed our drinks and never felt rushed. The drinks were priced on the high side. Regardless, it was good find and a nice experience. In summary, it was a fun evening with a lovely drink, great friends but watch that "easy to miss" automatic gratuity since it is normal practice for many hotels to add this. read more

So sorry i forgot the Italian name but had tons of clams and awesome wine sauce so good and yummy and also perfect Al Dente Pasta and spices like some pepper flakes, wine and spices all with the sauce was just perfect ! What a flavor I was happy for sure . Not a s much as my wife . she ordered the Pasta w Truffle shaved on it . First time at this restaurant and now I see why the 3 stars. We had a party of 16 people for a birthday dinner and we had about 5 waiters catering to us. Nonetheless, it took them 30 minutes to arrive with 1 beer, 3 margaritas, and water for the table. The food was okay, I've had more interesting and flavorful food for a cheaper price. My margarita tasted like straight Publix lemonade with a splash of tequila. We had 1 waiter that was a bit passive aggressive but I understand, it was a lot of people. The parking in this place is ridiculous.. there's valet for $16 or street parking (if you're lucky) I found street parking and paid $9 for 3hrs. The restaurant itself is quite smaller than I thought, the outside sitting area is quite lengthy and you can catch some nice views, (though for the price, there are restaurants in Miami with a much better view) the bathrooms were cleaned but you did have to step out into the lobby. All in all, I loved my company and the cause but save your money, there's a lot more restaurants in Miami with better food, better view, for cheaper the price. read more

This is gorgeous restaurant exceeded my expectations. When you walk in you are welcomed by a breathtaking view of the bay. The service was attentive. I came for lunch and our server got us started with the BEST bread basket I've ever had. My girlfriend and I shared a couple of dishes and every single one was satisfying and delicious. Setting: Beautiful surroundings, on the top floor of the new Mr. C hotel. View: straight-on view over the Coconut Grove Sailing Club and into Biscayne Bay. We sat outside, where tables are first come first served with reservations. Welcome: Friendly welcome in downstairs lobby, and also from hostesses upstairs. When seating us, she asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. Not sure why they asked, as nothing special was done. We were in fact celebrating an anniversary, and told them so, but apparently it went nowhere. We really didn't require or expect anything, but it seemed odd that they bothered to ask. Service: Efficient, but a bit too stuffily European. Table: Wobbly to the point of annoying. Server fixed the uneven leg wobble, but the loose tabletop wobble was unfixable. Bread: No fewer than 7 (seven!) different varieties of bread in the basket. Amazing grissini, good focaccia, great chewy rolls, and more. Wine: Call me cheap, but I wanted a wine priced in the 2-digits, not 3. The very basic Merlot we had was "just" $73. Almost everything else was over $100. Appetizers: Grilled Octopus with Eggplant Purée was perfectly cooked and scrumptious. Portion size was a bit small. On the other hand, the Endive, Pear, Avocado Salad was enormous! Entrees: Wild Salmon with Asparagus and White Asparagus Sauce was fantastic. The sauce was incredibly tasty. Lasagna Bolognese was good, but unexceptional. Dessert: Waiter insisted that only the Vanilla Gelato was the right thing to order. Apparently they have a very special gelato machine and they make it fresh when ordered order. The other flavors are pre-made and frozen, which seems normal and fine to me. It was a huge serving, enough for 3-4 people, and came with chocolate sauce and nuts. It was solidly good, but not amazing. Overall: I would return probably only with visitors who would benefit from the view. There are other Italian options nearby with equally good food and more reasonably-priced wine. read more

I'm very pleased that Bellini has opened in the brand new Mr. C Coconut Grove Hotel. It is located on the hotel's rooftop and has a beautiful dining room and spectacular views from the terrace. I'm giving a rating of 4 stars for this visit, but I anticipate that they will raise their game and earn 5 stars by the next time I'm there. We sat outside and seemed to have been forgotten about a couple of times. We started with the Baked Polenta "al Cucchiaio," which was big enough to share for two or three people. It has a base of soft, creamy polenta topped with a flavorful, browned cheese. Next, we had one Bucatini "Cacio e Pepe" and one "Pollo Rustico." The bucatini was cooked perfectly and the pasta itself was great. For me, the flavor of the dish was a little too subtle. The chicken, on the other hand, was stellar. The meat on it was outstanding and the skin was well done, crispy and packed with flavor. We finished our meal with the Chocolate Mousse. It was rich, decadent and satisfying, with at least white and dark chocolate inside, and maybe some milk chocolate rounding it out. All in all a solid experience with a little room for improvement, especially at $60+ per person without drinks. read more

As beautiful as this place is, and as much as I love coming here because it's a stone's throw from my apartment, the staff here are a--holes each and every time. They are just snobs. And sorry, but as someone who has lived in Coconut Grove most of the last 50 years, there is no room in the Grove for a--hole behavior. From the manager to the wait staff, non are attentive, they are often in a rush but not to help or serve, they don't listen, they have HUGE attitudes. And they are snobs. I have to admit I came in with all kinds of negative thoughts having read some of the reviews about the snooty staff. There was a machine that checks your temperature and reminds you to put your mask on before you go into the elevator. we arrived upstairs to the fifth floor where Bellini is located. The host could not find our reservation. It turns out they had canceled it. Luckily I didn't start getting upset because the host was more than gracious told us to let us see what he could do asked us if we had a preference sitting inside or out and sat us at a beautiful table outside with a spectacular view of the bay. It has a very nice rooftop seating area and then a long balcony are that I believe might belong to future restaurants. Either way, it was a nice view of the Grove.
