One of my favorite places in the heights, I've visited this location about a handful of times and have overall have had some amazing experiences here with my family. The options available make it an easy going out experience as my family has very wide dietary restrictions and expectations. For the most part the staff here seems to be really friendly and easy-going. The food here is phenomenal. I would've loved to have given this review a full 5 stars, but unfortunately I've had recently dealt with a cashier by the name of Aubrey who's been blatantly rude with me on about two occasions. I've received dirty looks, and an attitude when I've tried to inquire about our bill. And after the past two experiences I'm almost convinced that if I go here again soon it won't be a pleasant walk in the park just to eat if I end up having to interact with her again. read more

Bellagreen has excellent food. I was met with a kind and courteous face when I ordered a to go order. Their spinach salad is unreal good. This is why I primarily go to Bellagreen. I just started going to Bellagreen this year, you should too! read more

This place is a little pricey but (in my opinion) is worth it. I really enjoyed the burger that I had here but the best thing I've had was the lemon poppyseed waffle for breakfast-- YUM! Super delicious and pretty original. I also love the funky soda that they have (no Coke or Pepsi- this is actual root beer or cane soda) read more

I have celiac disease so it's very hard for me to find places to eat! This is a winner! The beet salad is fantastic! I had a regular old-fashioned burgerand they're gluten-free buns are delicious practically to like the real thing! Everything is very fresh and absolutely delicious! Place is very clean and employees are very friendly! Definitely a 10 when it comes to gluten free dairy free organic fresh food period! read more

I think they are way better than they were. I no longer have missing items from my to go orders. The food is hot. Good. Exactly as ordered. I do like W. Alabama's location's free pickle mix more. It's sweeter! read more

I love Ruggles and have been a frequent customer. I was very excited when the new location opened up. I'm not exactly sure why I continue to give this location a try; I think I just expect it to be as good as the other River Oaks location and every time I have been disappointed. The food is bland and often cold. I've had to ask them to provide me with a fresh cooked order of sweet potato fries almost every time, if I even bothered. All of my favorites-quinoa Mac and cheese, pepperoni pizza, sandwiches, salads, tomato basil soup, have come out sub par. They even managed to make a poor grilled cheese. If you are expecting the quality you get at the River Oaks location, I would suggest you take a few extra minutes to drive there. read more

I always get the salmon salad and while the price is a bit pricey for a salad it's HUGE. So I'd say it's pretty worth it! Yummy sauce and the salmon tasted very fresh. They also have a cute patio that is dog friendly so that's a plus! read more

I always come here for breakfast on the weekend and would come more if it were open for breakfast durning the week! They have the best fluffiest waffles ever. I usually get the chicken and waffles or the Huevos Rancheros. Huevos rancheros are more like breakfast tostadas but delicious none the less! So glad they recently changed the salsa that comes on them because now they are even better. read more

Ruffles green is a great choice when I am trying to be (somewhat) healthy. This is my first time at the heights location and they are very consistant with their food. I got the veggie burger which was surprisingly tasty! I so not generally get veggie food so I was expecting it taste dry or a little to vegetablely for my tatse, but it was really good. The rest of the group got the pizza and tacos. The only thing I didn't really enjoy was the quinoa side. It was a little plan. Overall great place to eat veggie food. read more

I never had a bad experience with this place, even where at times the food isn't always as awesome as the time before, BUT this evening there was clearly someone who doesn't enjoy being in the service industry. I went in just to order desert and the person was rude, instead of a greeting shouted, "what do you want," then when asked how long it might be she said "Idk you can see we're busy, so 10-15," then gives me a hot fudge brownie and bread pudding completely not warmed! I actually talked myself out of getting a desert from the grocery store bc I wanted something fresh! read more

Great breakfast/brunch menu! Had the gluten free lemon poppyseed pancakes with fresh strawberries. Also tried the crab and avocado omelette. It was real crab. Both were amazing. Only reason I have this place a 4 is bc of the short supply of seating. The food is too good for such a small building. Expansion needed! read more

Yummy food, so many delicious menu items it's hard to choose. A must have is the white chocolate bread pudding for dessert!

Yeah the name changed and the food that I ordered was super disgusting! I still would love to come back and remember of how the white chocolate pudding was super yum. We shall see. read more

We ordered lunch for the office (colleague picked it up). I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The chicken WASNOT EDIBLE. It was so tough I couldn't even bite through the thick end. The texture was bizarre and I couldn't tell what was wrong with it. It didn't seem over cooked like jerky or anything. It looked like a "normal" grilled chicken breast and didn't taste/smell bad; however, it was so tough you couldn't bite or chew it. Everyone else order other things (salads and a burger, I think). The lunch was a surprise for us and I didn't want to spoil it so I took the chicken(?) off and ate a veggie sandwich. Very disappointing. read more

Had the turkey burger with sweet potato fries, hummus, & shared dessert (mind blowing bread pudding) with my cousin. Everything was delicious! Well flavored, perfectly cooked, FRESH food! The service was top notch, and the restaurant was charming + clean. Hope to go back! read more

8-8-13 Don't order the brisket sandwich unless you like chewing on leather. Told the manager about it and he just started at me. Yes I take some blame ordering a $14 brisket sandwich. read more

Never trust a burger on a whole wheat bun.. Prices are too damn high for the location and for what you get IMO..

I love this place. Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. We have come several times on trips into Houston.

This is my go-to place when I want to eat out since it's very difficult to find gluten-free and dairy-free restaurants in Houston. Nearly everything I've had here has been delicious. You can't go wrong with their pizzas. I had the duck when it was a special and it was some of the best duck I've ever had. Salads are also good and huge. Breakfast is also good. The one exception was the quinoa pasta with turkey meatballs. The meatballs were not seasoned and tasted awful. read more

As Ruggles Green provides a popular 'healthy food fix', it also provides a thorough slamming on the old bill fold. It's upsetting to me that food that tastes great and is healthy is so damn expensive. Perhaps a larger food supply issue, not sure, but I'm not paying more than $10 for a chicken sandwich ever. read more

Wanted to go out for dinner on a Friday night, originally planned on going to Liberty Kitchen but an hour and a half wait wasn't happening so we decided to go to Ruggles instead. That was definitely the right choice; the food was out fast and delicious. We had the spinach dip, pizza and a Kobe burger...Yum!!! The staff was on point too, they were quick and courteous. What was originally supposed to be just a quick dinner at a nice restaurant turned into a 2 hour dinner, a bottle of wine, dessert and great conversation in a good environment. I would definitely recommend Ruggles to anyone that is looking for a casual and healthy bite to eat that also tastes great. read more

They have the best Turkey Burger in Houston. The brunch is pretty tasty as well. The crab and avocado omelette is one of my absolute favorites. read more

Salads are awesome! Nice for pick up for office meetings. It's a great environment too!

overall good food. but i can taste the cheep canola oil on my food that they cook with. when they first opened it was so good. please upgrade your cooking oil and i will adjust rating back to a 5 star read more

I absolutely love this place. They are both healthy and delicious. My favorite dish is the goat cheese salad, but there are still so many I haven't tried. The bread pudding is to die for. And the service is always excellent. read more

While 2 stars seems harsh I looked at the 2 star description and Meh. I've experienced better couldn't be a better description because I love Ruggles on West Alabama it is SO much better. I am truly hoping that this is just some early on growing pains for this extension of a restaurant that I love. The french onion soup that I so adore at your other location was about half the serving of what I am accustomed to. The cheese was barely melted and everyone knows the best part of French onion soup is the perfectly melty bubbly cheese. The bf ordered the lamb burger and I will defer to his own review of it but it was not great. Will give it a few months to work out the kinks and we will try it again. If all else fails there is always West Alabama. read more

Everything in this place tastes fresh and crisp. The ambiance is casual and relaxed. The staff will go out of their way to help you with your selection. We ordered the fish tacos, mac and cheese, chicken curry salad, and a veggie burger. Everyone enjoyed the food. Cousin was from London where their palate is different and although he said the chicken curry salad was not what he expected, that it was very good. They have ice cold beers and a nice frosty mug which is a plus. Also, they have an excellent selection of hot sauces. I love that they pay attention to detail, including serving organic ketchup and mustard. Will definitely return. read more

Great vegetarian friendly restaurant with an extensive menu and very fast service - no matter how packed the place gets. My only complaint is that finding parking can be a bit of a pqin. This is beyond their control though! It's great they're in demand - I just hope they eventually move to a larger space w more parking. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurant's. The food is delicious and the service is great. I just adore Damion he always has the best suggestions on food. Cya again soon. read more

I love this place! Especially their chicken salad sandwich on a gluten free bun! Also I have to always get the roasted corn chowder every time it's amazing. Ive had the burger, the bread pudding, and all of the salads and they always have great consistent flavor! But the chicken salad is forever my favorite in town! read more

Excellent food and desserts. Great healthy eating in the neighborhood! For those who aren't aware, this is just a rebranded Ruffles. Give it a try! read more

I had the pleasure of dining at this new location of Ruggles Green, and I enjoyed every moment of it. I was so excited to read online that they were opening another location... Ruggles Green on Alabama is seriously one of my favorite restaurants in Houston, and I love that they are successful and expanding!! Seriously--coming from LA, there are "green" restaurants everywhere, but in Houston, they are hard to come by, so I really love this place. This location was amazing. I honestly like it better inside than the Alabama location. It is so bright inside, and very modern. It's somewhat small, so I'm guessing when people get wind of this location, it's going to be crowded, but it's gorgeous. They also have a nice outdoor patio which is enclosed, though it looked like it may open up if the weather is good! I also just have to say a word about the restrooms--they are unisex (thank you for not making women wait longer than men!!), they are pristine, and they are eco friendly (I love those power hand driers!). The food, per usual, was delicious. I tried a new-to-me salad--honey goat cheese--and man was it delicious!! I also had the tomato soup, which was so good. I really wanted a grilled cheese while I was eating it! My husband had the salmon pasta, which is pretty much his favorite dish at Ruggles. And of course, we had to share a bread pudding at the end because it is divine. I realized something while I was there talking to some other people, which hadn't occurred to me before. Coming from California, especially having lived in San Francisco for some time, the fact that restaurants are "green"/market themselves as healthy is a huge selling point for men and women alike. But I guess here in Houston, that is a little bit different, and a lot of men seem to shy away from places like Ruggles Green because they think it will be too alternative, weird, hippy, etc. That makes sense, but honestly the food here is amazing. Check out the menu--they have salmon, burgers, pizzas... everything you'd find at any typical chain restaurant, it's just that the ingredients are locally sourced and organic. So for any men out there reading this, give it a shot. I promise you're not going to eat food that is tasteless, chewy, and gross... and I have a feeling you'll be pleasantly surprised. Oh, and did I mention that you should get the bread pudding?? It is SO GOOD. Seriously. read more

This place is always PACKED and after having your first bite, it's easy to know why! Great atmosphere joined together with great food. I have tried their Ruggles Veggie Pizza which is amazing! Also their portabella mushroom tacos are delicious! They offer a wide variety of foods that can accommodate any diet. I have gone to the Ruggles in The Heights and also the one in City Centre both like I said are always packed and probably have to hover around to find a table. read more

bellagreen - These are their portobello mushroom tacos! Must have! Wish they had some spicier salsa tjpugh. :P - New American Near Me - Houston, Texas

Ruggles is always pretty awesome! It's always very fresh and very tasty. It is a little pricey but it is organic, some gluten free, etc so they do serve a more niche crowd, but overall this place is very solid. Every ruggles I've been to has been consistent which is very impressive in my opinion. If you have not been it is definitely worth a try. read more

It's healthy, great tasting food, good prices, and crazy amazing desserts. The environment is a Heights type relaxed atmosphere, has a nice patio with fans and shade. A good size dining room, with great service. I usually get vegetable wraps or turkey, the soy glaze is really great. My bf who is gluten free can get good quality burgers. This place is very gluten free friendly. They also have amazing specials with seafood, but will run out, so make sure you ask first. The desserts are seriously some of the best, the white chocolate bread pudding is just perfect. The creme brûlée is excellent. Really great food, conscious food, at a decent price. We eat here once a week. They also have great cappuccino. read more

Ruggles Green is A-OK in my book! This is the first time I came here with some work friends, and I was pleasantly surprised with how fresh their ingredients are! I ordered a veggie wrap with the quinoa salad, and all the ingredients were colorful and flavorful. The quinoa salad had a nice minty taste to it, and the wrap was choc-full of portobello mushroom and bell peppers! Parking is in the lot next to the building, so there's a nice quick walk past the bus stop to get there. They're dog friendly and the outdoor patio is wonderful on Houston's fall and spring days when he weather cooperates. I the dining atmosphere is pretty intimate in the sense that tables are close together, and the indoor area itself is somewhat small. read more

I was so happy to get a Ruggles Green by my apartment, one without a parking nightmare to deal with. The food, like the other locations, was delicious and fresh and this is LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than 11th Street Cafe! read more

Once again, Ruggles Green has delighted my taste buds. On this trip I tried the Hempanadas and house salad. 2 different sauces came on the side for the appetizer size Hempanadas, both were delicious, but like me, you may prefer one over the other. I preferred the yogurt w/ cilantro? one, if your curious. Paired with a side, house salad, it was a perfect amount for a lady at lunch. I really liked the house dressing on the salad too. FYI, I noticed that the Heights location serves Barqs root beer (which FYI contains caffeine) and the City Centre location, carries Maine Root - Root beer, which is Caffeine free :)) I can't have caffeine, so of course, I wish the Heights location had the Maine Roo read more
