This is one of my places I normally go to when I am in the Natomas area. I had the turkey, bacon, and avocado omelette. I had it with egg whites and fruit and they were accommodating. The omelette was good and had a good amount of turkey meat in it. The only complaint was that the cheese wasn't as melted and it was not as hot to my taste. Another solid Bella Bru brunch! We love coming here after our Saturday morning runs and the staff are always excellent! Today was rainy and inside was warm and cozy. The amazing sourdough bread with my omelette is my favorite morning meal and today our table ordered a $10 muffin platter with carrot cake, blueberry and banana nut. The banana nut was TO DIE FOR! We had some friends in town and decided to take them out to a local breakfast place. Bella Brue Cafe was right there and i have never been to it and decided to give it a try. The place had a large area of seating outdoor+ indoors. It was such a nice morning that we decided to eat outside. We were immediately seating and the waiter was very friendly. My family and I have been coming to this Bella Bru for years! Never had a bad experience. Their food is always delicious. The service is always on point. The desserts that you see when you first walk in the door always look so fresh. I love the open outdoor patio area. It's so nice to dine outside on a beautiful day. The outdoor patio is large enough to where you don't feel crammed. The restaurant is very clean inside and out. Even the bathrooms are always clean and stocked with toilet paper and paper towels. I gave this place a second chance and am glad I did. Latest visit that I enjoyed: Steak Salad with lots of flavor, French 75 mocktail in a nice chilled glass and a cup of soup with fresh baked bread. Sat inside on a cold winter's night. The salad dressing was a little heavy, especially considering there was also pesto and caramelized onion. I would get the dressing light or on the side next time. First visit two years ago that I did not like: a bland pasta lunch seated outside in the summer sun. I much prefer this place for a cozy cold-weather time. It is family-friendly and has good variety on the menu for different tastes. Bonus: the takeout coffee counter is like a coffee shop in Natomas which has so few. read more

Bella bru used to be a favorite. It has now become a place even when it's not a holiday, a three hour dining experience regardless. And this has happened multiple times. We understood that visiting this restaurant on a holiday would add extra time, however, not being seated after an hour and 20 minutes is unacceptable after being told , the wait would be forty five. After that it was going to be another twenty minutes before being seated. I was noticing people next to us had to wait for drinks for forty minutes and they were seated! We heard that the drink register wasn't working, And that created the issue. It was awful on top of awful. They didn't have enough wait staff, there were empty open tables that were not being filled.So the wait time was ridiculous for nothing. They now charge more for their food and have smaller portions. for their food as well. I don't think I'll be returning. This ruined my holiday. read more

Ordered takeout. Lemon Artichoke Chicken dinner for $23 it was tiny (see picture with butter knife for scale) and all tossed in together with liquid pooling at the bottom. Tasted like grocery store rotisserie chicken but drier. Salmon dinner ($26) wasn't much bigger but at least tasted good. Quesadilla from the small plates menu was bigger than either entree but inedible- so greasy it left an oil slick on the next one in the stack. Flavor was boring and fatty. Won't be going back. Excellent service, good food, but avoid the coffee. I stopped here to get a small bite and the bagel was good but the coffee was terrible. I got a latte and it was watery and flavorless to the point where we couldn't drink them. I have the pleasure of writing this while I wait for my server to come collect our check. First and last time visiting Bella Bru unfortunately. I settled on the sunrise breakfast with bacon -- specifically asked for over medium eggs. My English muffin was limp and soggy, the eggs were over easy, with lots of white liquid remaining. decided to ask for to-go containers and remake the meal at home. Their service match the energy put into the food. Although our server was multi tasking while serving us (watched her do side work while we waited for our requests) it caused us to spend a lot of time waiting for the to-go boxes or our check to be picked up. So much, we left waiting for a bag that should have been brought with the to-go containers. Place was poppin by the time we left - so some people have good visits. Horrible dinner! I had the special: vegan enchiladas, trip tip and cucumber salad. I couldn't cut the tri tip with a knife and fork the meat was so tough. Then I tried to chew it. I think the bottom of a shoe would have been more tender. And the tri tip had a horrible sauce on it. The enchilada was not good and both the tri tip and enchilada were not hot (temperature). And the cucumber salad was a sloppy mess. At least the entre was removed from my bill. Nice service from Jessica, but if I were her I would look for a job in a better restaurant. Also, only a handful of customers were dining. That's a sign that the food is not good. In conclusion, I drove over to In and Out Burger and got the #2 cheeseburger & fries. I will not return to Natomas Bella Bru Cafe. A "one star" rating is being generous as far as I'm concerned. read more

This was my 3rd visit to the restaurant, and I really love the food and the service. They have outdoor seating if you want to dine outside, as well as cozy indoor searing. The ambiance gives upscale Black Bear Diner vibes. The customer service is kind and attentive. We were seated promptly, our orders were taken, and our food was hot and freshly prepared. I had my 3 young adults with me, and two ordered the blackened salmon sandwich. One ordered the crab cake sandwich, and I ordered the salmon blt sandwich. DELICIOUS!!!! I have had both the salmon sandwich and the salad before. The crab cake sandwich looked so good, I wished I had given it a try. And the young lady who had it LOVED IT!! Stopped by here to meet up with family. I was surprised that it wasn't as crowded considering they had plenty of space to accommodate a large crowd. Since the weather was warm, I asked to be seated at their outdoor area. Got a table with no issues. Since I was earlier than everyone I ordered a Prosecco while waiting. They only have one kind of Prosecco. It was good, floral but not too sweet or brut. It comes in the super small bottle and they fill it in your glass. After 5 min a gnat got in my glass. After hunting someone down, the lady hostess immediately apologized and swapped out my glass for another and refilled it. She saw the gnat and knew it was an instant no go for even her. I definitely appreciate that! Bc sometimes people really act like it's the guests fault. When my fam arrived I ordered a caesar salad. It was good. A large portion. Came with shaved parmesan and croutons. I opted out of adding any seafood or meats since I had another place to be shortly after. It was good. Doesn't seem like they make their own dressing but it wasn't bad either. Our guy hostess was super nice and even took a picture of us when we asked. Came here for lunch on a Saturday. The place was a little crowded and busy. There were still tables available, they seated us right away. They had a small brunch menu, but I ordered a sandwich for lunch. I ordered the tuna melt with fries. My husband ordered the French dip and a cup of soup, clam chowder. The tuna melt tasted ok. Coming back from the airport so we hit this place for lunch. Very crowded but its the weekend and nice out. They were still able to seat us right away. The wife got the tuna melt. She didn't want the capers but already mixed in the tuna. She liked it . I got the clam chowder but it came at the same time or actually after they brought our meal. Bella Bru has been a favorite since 1999 (at their El Dorado Hills location)! Stopped into the Natomas location after getting my nails done and a workout across the street. The steak was cooked medium-rare to perfection. The entire salad was delish and the chimichurri just sealed the deal. All of the other menu items are great, too (coffees, breakfast, desserts). The atmosphere is always upbeat. They play really good music, have games on the TV's and you can bring your dog to dine with you on the patio. The entire staff was super friendly and they checked in with me throughout my stay to be certain that I was enjoying my dining experience. I like that if you want something simple like some eggs & bacon they have it, or if you want something with more pizzaz you can get huevos rancheros. The drink selection was good too and not overwhelming. The place was very busy but our waitress checked in twice for our table. I do think there could be a little more attention to detail, no one came by to refill our water but it was not a big deal. Casual restaurant open for breakfast to dinner. It is a step or two up from a diner. For one thing it has a full bar. Napkin is still paper but it's large and plush.
