I order the angel hair pasta prawn. They have a happy menu here too so take advantage of it. I enjoyed the raspberry lemon chiffon cake, peach pie, and carrot cake. Their banana cream pie is a big pass, texture is almost like a hard gelatin, definitely not a cream or custard pie. It was weird. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors great for big crowds too. Our main server gave good service when he was present but we didn't get checked on a lot for refills or to order more drinks. The hostess might had been helping the server and she did come by but she never came back with anything we asked so not sure why she would come by to check in on us and ask if we needed anything. Had to drop off someone at SMF airport last Sunday morning and decided to get brunch close by. Remembered Bella Bru and decided to go there since it was 5 mins. from the airport. My husband and I stopped by for an afternoon lunch and were seated right away. Our waitress, Joy, was every bit as pleasant as her name suggests. She cheerfully took our order and even recommended a wonderful Frank Cabernet to pair with my meal. This is one of my places I normally go to when I am in the Natomas area. I had the turkey, bacon, and avocado omelette. I had it with egg whites and fruit and they were accommodating. The omelette was good and had a good amount of turkey meat in it. The only complaint was that the cheese wasn't as melted and it was not as hot to my taste. Another solid Bella Bru brunch! We love coming here after our Saturday morning runs and the staff are always excellent! Today was rainy and inside was warm and cozy. The amazing sourdough bread with my omelette is my favorite morning meal and today our table ordered a $10 muffin platter with carrot cake, blueberry and banana nut. The banana nut was TO DIE FOR! This cafe has really grown on me! We've been here a handful of times, most visits happen on a weekday between 4pm and 6pm. Their happy hour menu is honestly not too bad, they have a yummy lemon drop on there and I've also ordered their tacos and pizza and wine combo. I usually bring my son, so definitely family friendly. My family and I have been coming to this Bella Bru for years! Never had a bad experience. Their food is always delicious. The service is always on point. The desserts that you see when you first walk in the door always look so fresh. I love the open outdoor patio area. It's so nice to dine outside on a beautiful day. The outdoor patio is large enough to where you don't feel crammed. The restaurant is very clean inside and out. Even the bathrooms are always clean and stocked with toilet paper and paper towels. I gave this place a second chance and am glad I did. Latest visit that I enjoyed: Steak Salad with lots of flavor, French 75 mocktail in a nice chilled glass and a cup of soup with fresh baked bread. Sat inside on a cold winter's night. The salad dressing was a little heavy, especially considering there was also pesto and caramelized onion. I would get the dressing light or on the side next time. First visit two years ago that I did not like: a bland pasta lunch seated outside in the summer sun. I much prefer this place for a cozy cold-weather time. I settled on the sunrise breakfast with bacon -- specifically asked for over medium eggs. My English muffin was limp and soggy, the eggs were over easy, with lots of white liquid remaining. decided to ask for to-go containers and remake the meal at home. Their service match the energy put into the food. Although our server was multi tasking while serving us (watched her do side work while we waited for our requests) it caused us to spend a lot of time waiting for the to-go boxes or our check to be picked up. So much, we left waiting for a bag that should have been brought with the to-go containers. Place was poppin by the time we left - so some people have good visits. Horrible dinner! I had the special: vegan enchiladas, trip tip and cucumber salad. I couldn't cut the tri tip with a knife and fork the meat was so tough. Then I tried to chew it. I think the bottom of a shoe would have been more tender. And the tri tip had a horrible sauce on it. The enchilada was not good and both the tri tip and enchilada were not hot (temperature). And the cucumber salad was a sloppy mess. At least the entre was removed from my bill. Nice service from Jessica, but if I were her I would look for a job in a better restaurant. Also, only a handful of customers were dining. That's a sign that the food is not good. In conclusion, I drove over to In and Out Burger and got the #2 cheeseburger & fries. The breakfast burrito (made with extra veggies not meat) had 3 pieces of cold yellow squash and a ton of uncooked nearly raw potatoes within it. Also, it did not come with a side. Others did not enjoy their meals, reporting eggs benedict was tasteless with slimy lunch meat style ham. Lattes were fine but had an overly synthetic cheap syrup taste that turned us all off.
