Nice restaurant on the inside and very clean, but the food wasn't what we hoped. We had a spicy tuna roll that tasted really excellent, but later that night we felt a little sick. We also ordered pan fried noodles which were really a pile of dry chow mein noodles with an odd sauce. It was not edible. The Beef chow fun was bland and forgettable. The shrimp dumpling was also bland and unseasoned. Part of the issue is the menu is not descriptive and there are no photos for reference. That would be helpful. The sushi menu might be the safest option. I wouldn't recommend any of the the items we tried from their Chinese menu. read more

I would advise against visiting this establishment. We decided to try this place out for dinner, as we had received several gift cards from a raffle that we won. When we went to pay, we included 5 $10 cards towards our bill, we were then informed that only one could be used at a time. Because we were totally surprised, we asked to speak to a manager. The server came back and said again, we can only accept 1 $10 card for this purchase. Nowhere was there any indication that all cards couldn't be combined at one time. The owner came out, refused to honor all of them, and even made false accusations as though we may have "forged" them . Well I thought for Valentine's Day. I would give them another try. It's been an over a year since we went there last time. December 2024. But I was disappointed in the dish I ordered. The Yellow Curry Chicken!! It showed to be a spicy dish. It was Not Spicy it was no where near to be spicy and it was watery and bland !! I also ordered a Spicy Salmon roll that was ok but no wasabi or ginger came with it. My Mom's $40 Sashimi came with no rice or miso soup. Which was an additional for $2 and $3.99.!!!!! My friend got Sweet Sour Pork. I tasted it and enjoyed it more than my dish. Now the waiter. He was overwhelmed if he had to be asked anything about for instance the tea pot. He should had filled it full the first time then tell us to let it sit awhile before serving. Then we would have a more flavorful tea. After getting our drinks he came back with our orders served them then took off before we could ask him for refills on my friend and my drinks. Then she needed a knife to cut the sweet sour pork pieces. But we didn't see him any where to ask him. He don't check on us to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything. I waved my arms in the air to finally get his attention to get refills on our ice tea. I paid $103 dollars and still left him a $15 tip which I felt he didn't work for but I felt sorry for him he was taking orders delivered them AND had to clean his own tables after customers. I should've asked for the Manager but only saw her when we entered the place and she never came out except for to go orders up front. I thought Oh Well. I came on a busy night. I really wanted to send my dish back and order sushi instead. I won't be coming back again. I know a place in Redlands that give you Miso soup, rice, salad, and sashimi for $35. And they have more than two servers for their restaurant that is half the size of BellaYang. Ambiance was clean and kinda dark to see the menu's small print. I actually had to ask my wife if we were eating Shrimp Fried Rice or Chicken. To me it taste like Shrimp. I had my hesitation trying this place due to the demographics in this area, and the combination of sushi and Chinese food being served in one place. I mainly ended up here because I was traveling with my kids and they had to use the restroom. To my surprise, the food was quite good, which is why I came back today. One menu has sushi & rolls, and the other menu has Chinese dishes. This place probably wouldn't stand out if it was in SGV, but I have nothing negative to say about the food. Everything was fresh and tasty. Sashimi Deluxe wasn't anything exceptional, but all cuts were fresh and portion was generous. Cha Shu Bao wasn't as good as ones you'd find at dim sum places in SGV, but still very tasty. These take a while to make, so not something I recommend if you are in a hurry. Takes about 20 minutes. Shrimp Lo Mein had good balance of flavor. Not too salty or sweet, and didn't leave any weird aftertaste. My wife really liked this dish too. Sichuan Boiled Fish tasted clean with just a subtle bit of spiciness. I would've preferred it to be spicier but I still found it to be satisfying. I wouldn't mind ordering this dish again. Service was prompt and attentive, and place looked clean. If it was just me and my wife, we would probably go to one of the pubs in the area, but this is a good place when traveling with kids. The only complaint I have is the orange chicken isn't crispy and too much watery sauce, it is a bit much for me and the tap water is not the best. Nonetheless, staff are always attentive and always offer suggestions. I always leave pleased with my experience and would recommend this local business to anyone looking for a fine delicious authentic Chinese or Japanese meal in the area. My wife had a dream about sushi and being unable to eat anything because the stores were either sold out or she couldn't have any (due to pregnancy and raw fish). She immediately woke up and told me that she needed sushi. Unfortunately, our usual go-to spot was no longer offering a AYCE take out option, so we decided to branch out and try something new. Our Yelp search led us to Bella & Yang--a compromise between sushi and Chinese food. For those of you who don't know, my in-laws are from Hong Kong and prefer to eat Chinese food above all else. We decided to try this place as it has really high ratings on Yelp. My wife ordered a dragon roll, rainbow roll, pan fried pork buns, Mongolian beef, shrimp chow fun, and spicy boiled fish. We had to wait a few minutes before our order was ready but the server said he would walk the order out to us and informed us of a holiday special they were having ($85 that feeds 6 people). The food smelled super good on the drive home and we couldn't wait to try it. The pan fried pork buns were pretty authentic and was filled inside with juicy meat with a crispy fried exterior. The spicy boiled fish (although doesn't sound very appetizing) was actually the best item we ordered as it had plenty of flavor and spice. Tht Mongolian beef was supposed to be spicy but for some reason, it was on the sweeter side. Unfortunately, the chow fun and sushi left a lot to be desired. Overall, this place offered pretty good Chinese fare, but on the expensive side; my wife wished that the server told us about the holiday special before ordering. Just as I feared. New business (at that time) had great food and was tasting fantastic. Give it lots of time then quality comes down, chefs change, and unfortunately that's precisely what tends to happen at this restaurant. Ordered almost precisely the same dishes as before - eggplant with garlic sauce, fried rice, and baked salmon rolls. Each and every dish was below expectations and nowhere close to what I remember. Taking it down to 2 stars and hard pass for me and my family from now on. Such a shame that it has a great location, but it's just not being used to its full potential. C'est la vie, Bella and Yang! Maybe become a buffet spot that serves crab legs with a mix of Chinese, Japanese, salads, and desserts? Just an idea. Plenty of parking to pull it off! read more
