This was again kid approved and was delicious. Ordered a compliment with spicy chicken wanted plain white rice but they were out of it so settled for half and half. Chicken was delicious with just the right amount of spice. The prices have literally doubled but that's to be expected in this economy. Good China Express in Beaumont is definitely one of those spots that stays busy for a reason. I got the 3 item combo for around $13 and honestly felt like it was a solid deal for the amount of food you get. The stir fry chicken and especially the black pepper chicken were both really good with a lot of flavor. The rice noodles and rice were cooked perfectly too. The broccoli beef was decent but a little bland for my personal taste compared to the other items. Service was friendly even with how packed it was inside, and the restaurant stayed clean and well kept the whole time. Only thing I thought was kinda lame is that the steamed veggies count as an entrée instead of just replacing chow mein, but overall this place is still a great local Chinese food spot if you're in Beaumont. read more

Pretty good food... I ordered the shrimp and broccoli with fried rice. It was a little more pricey than I thought it would be but the portions were big and the food was good. They have buffet style options that are available. The food looked good and was smoking hot. I don't eat meat so I couldn't partake but the food looked good and the serving sizes were large! With the prices posted for the buffet, that's the most bang for your buck! I saw a worker do something unsanitary though. He used tongs to clean something off the buffet but then took the tongs and banged it on the trash - to dump the item he picked up - and proceeded to put the tongs back in the food. Eeeeek. I've been a customer since 2009. My experience with were always positive and the food was always good until yesterday there's a new employee. She was rushing me in a rude tone so I called her out on it. I paid at the cashier who's been there since my first visit 16 years ago and let her know the attitude of the new server. She said she will talk to her. When I was about to leave I told the server not to be rude next time and she lost it. She started to yell at me cussing saying all the words that you can imagine and she followed to my car still cussing on me. I didn't answer back as I don't want to stoop that low especially in public. By night time I was curious if she still there and your guess is as good as mine. She's still employed. Second time coming to this place. And I will continue to do so simply because of the service. The ladies behind the counter are so friendly and sweet. They make small talk with you and are so cutesy. They are not stingy at all with the portions. Both times we've visited, all food is stocked and the dining are is very clean. They over a wide range of drinks including boba drinks. Here is an example of their beyond excellent customer service. When we arrived yesterday a gentleman was getting ready to pay for his meal. I believe he requested green onions but they were out. The lady offered to get some from Albertsons next door and prep them for him!!!! He was low on time and could not wait. She was willing to go the extra mile!!!. They used to keep the rice/noodles neatly in the large section of the container and then generously fill the other two pockets with the main meat and vegetable choices. Now, they totally overfill with rice and/or noodles and give much less of the main meat and vegetable choices. Like, I don't want to pay for mostly rice or noodles! One of the ladies charged me for a little side of teriyaki sauce and the customer after me didn't get charged for the teriyaki sauce. They used to give a free fortune cookie with a purchased meal, now you have to pay for a fortune cookie (which probably costs less than .02) This place has changed. I know wages are up and people are charging more for things (and this place has raised their prices as well which is understandable) but there is nothing special about this place anymore. The food is average - as is any fast food Chinese place... Nothing special here but that is Okay. Problem is a large rice cost an astounding 6.99 .. for just Noodles !! I went a head anyway ( thinking they must be exceptional ... they weren't) ! But then once tax and they add "their Service charge" a plate of rice noodle cost $8.73 out the door. This place is always quick and fast! They food is good, I go during dinner time so alot of the time the food is fresh. The bowls are good as well I get a veggie bowl and sometimes a few enrolls.
