I visited Belk today because I was interested in purchasing a watch from the Belk & Co. Fine Jewelers section. Unfortunately, there wasn't an associate available to assist me or even near by. Belk is truly a hidden gem. It feels like a full mall we somehow never discovered, even after living here for over 10 years. This was our first time visiting, and we were really impressed. They have everything--kids' clothing, jewelry, and a wide variety of other items. The service is excellent from the moment you walk in. Everyone we encountered was polite, welcoming, and quick to greet us. The prices are very reasonable, and overall the store offers a great shopping experience. I honestly had no idea Belk was even here, but now that I know, it's definitely a five-star place in my book. read more

I had bought a pair of Crown & Ivy brand jeans from Half of Half and loved them so much that I decided to find out what store sells them. It's Belk!! I was looking for a pair of shorts and I found a great pair of stretch denim in Crown & Ivy brand! The denim is so soft, stretchy and comfortable! It's hard finding shorts that have at least a 7" inseam. Women of a certain age have no business wearing short shorts! The legs can be rolled up if you want them to be shorter. I wish they had a little more inventory to find more, possibly in another color in my size. My hubby found a great looking shirt that is ultra thin and made of recycled materials, has UV protection and is moisture wicking. My dressing room was a total disaster- clothes filled to the brim on the hooks and a bunch of dresses just slumped on the floor. I don't why customers can't have the decency to return clothes they don't want to the racks supplied for that purpose. I found myself tidying things up. I like that they have one line and then the next customer is called to the next register. Because I always pick the wrong line, you know what I mean!?! I had found a coupon that I had on my phone. The prices were great between being on sale and the extra coupon savings. I had a great experience finding exactly what I was looking for. read more

I shop at Belk about 6 times a year. I don't use credit much except to keep my card current. The interest rates are considerably more than the savings incentives using the card. Well my husband went in for jeans and his card expired. Apparently they close accounts not used for 6 months. So he agreed to Re-up the card. Wrong move!!!! For a $19 purchase Belk put a hard inquiry on his credit report. His credit score went down 60 points! A hard inquiry stays on a credit report for 3 years!!! Belk has some pretty good deals but be aware of their credit card tactics. They can ruin your credit by canceling your accounts, doing random inquiries and the unfortunate hard inquiry. They should at least warn people! read more

REALLY BAD and dismissive customer service. In repeated attempts to locate my order across many days, I asked for the store manager to ask for help. She refused to accept the order number of any of my information and directed me to call the off shore customer. Customer service shows my order is STILL IN THEIR STORE! UGH!!! read more

I ordered a couple things online. Some fit. 3 didn't fit. Drove to the McKinney location to return them from Dallas. Belk does not pay the postage to return. The clerk looks at me like I'm from Mars. Claims my credit card was not used. I show her my credit card charges online....Belk, Belk, Belk. She goes thru the exact same act Three times! Boring. Finally gets my items returned. I look at the racks. Inventory is decimated. Practically nothing in the store. I will stay away completely in the future. Not worth the trouble. I predict a short future for Belk. They just aren't keeping up. read more

Now that I have Amazon Prime, I hardly ever go to a store to actually shop. This was a rare occurrence that I actually needed to go to a store to buy clothes. My son was going to his first dance and he wanted to wear a blazer. Now, that the construction on Eldorado and 75 is completed it is very easy to access from the service road. It is a stand also store with a huge parking lot! When we arrived a very kind sales associate immediately helped us with sizing and the correct fit. He then also helped pick out a coordinating dress shirt and tie. Then it came time to check out. He offered me a 15% coupon to use with my purchase. That was so nice of him. It was a great shopping experience. I would definitely go back for other clothing needs. read more

Relatively clean store and friendly staff. Then we went to the fitting room in the junior department. It was horrible. The carpet was stained and un-vacuumed with dead insects. There was a black beetle running around as well. I couldn't wait to leave. An employee with the initials MC had last visited the fitting room at 11:30am today and didn't think it needed to be cleaned. Belk needs to train their employees better to improve the overall store experience for their customers. I will not be trying on clothes at this location for a long time. read more

I had gone in to get some badly needed jeans for work. I had about 5 pairs picked out and decided I would get some new bras while I was there. A woman followed me the whole time, I thought it was a little odd but decided to ignore it. While looking at bras, 2 cops came and escorted me out of the store. I was served a criminal trespass warning. Apparently I looked like someone that had shoplifted in the past so they banned me from the store. I haven't been to Belk in over 5 years. I have never been so humiliated or furious in my entire life. read more

I was excited to find that there was a place in McKinney that sold Free People and some other boho brands that are harder to find unless you travel to the city, but The store manager, "Brad" I believe his name was was extremely creepy and witnessed him scolding and yelling at other employees right in front of me!! I immediately asked one employee where I could take my complaint to and she sighed and said "no one. This is what we have to deal with on a daily basis." I still can't support a place that doesn't get behind its employees but would rather have a fear monger run its business. shame on them. read more

This is a standalone location with ample parking. I had driven past this Belk several times and finally decided to stop in while on a mission for the perfect pair of heels. The first thing I noticed happened to be the cosmetic counter staff leaning against the counters gossiping. It was during off peak weekday hours so I could understand them having a group conversation. The fact that I could clearly hear the negative conversation while shopping in a completely different department though was a bit of a turn off. Anyway, I browsed around in the shoe department for several minutes and finally located a pair of heels that I wanted to try on. I grabbed the shoe and approached the desk, waiting for assistance. Several minutes passed and I was never approached by an associate. I figured the associate was probably stocking in the back so I moved myself from around the desk to directly in the stockroom doorway. A few more minutes went by and a gentleman emerged to offer assistance. He retrieved a pair for me try on and I was on my way. After deciding against the heels, I made my way though the clothing sections and was pleasantly greeted by several associates and a manager. If you're short, this Belk does have a small petite section (emphasis on SMALL). The selection here is iffy and a bit dated. It's been awhile since I have been into another Belk so I'm not sure if this is universal or just this location. If this location brings in a more youthful, varied selection I could definitely see shopping here in the future just to avoid the mall. read more

I want to start by Thanking one of the employees working this evening. We came in looking for a specific pair of boots for my in law's Christmas gift and was not able to find any boot describing what she was looking for until JW helped (that was the name that read on his name tagg but on the cashing out receipt said jhon so I'm not so sure of his name ) . He helped me find the perfect pair of boots even though it was getting pretty busy he took the time to help us and still managed to help everyone else that came up to him. He did a good job but I do think there should have been at least another person there to help around. The pricing was just perfect and the fact that we got the last pair in her size made it even better! Thank you JW for helping me knock out one more gift off the list. read more
