I'm very disappointed with the quality of the items at Dollar tree and how they continue to go up on the price AGAIN to $1.50 might as well not call it dollar tree anymore and call 4 for $6. Cashier Alexander was not friendly at all. I went to his register and he didn't greet me or say one word to me, so I said "Hello, how are you today" he still didn't respond or reciprocate. He just scanned my items and told me my total. After my transaction was complete he just handed me my receipt and started ringing up the next customer. I was not told thank you, Happy Holiday's, come back again, did you find everything you needed, just nothing back from him. He didn't smile and acted like he didn't even want to be working there. Very poor customer service. He desperately needs some customer service training on how to treat customers. I do like this store because it's well stocked and organized, but Alexander's attitude was definitely a turnoff for me on this trip. read more

I am giving this location a 4. I come to this location a lot hoping they would have items I am looking for instead of having to drive to other locations that is well stocked and cleaned. At checkout, I did come in contact with a young African American man. He was the cashier for the day there. He was very cheerful and greeted me as I was placing my items on the counter. I was very pleased with the way he interacted during the transaction. Afterwards he thanked me and then greeted the next customer. I visit Dollar Tree at least once a month to restock my classroom's treasure box. They always carry such fun items that my students enjoy. The store is organized by party items, toys, school products, personal care, food, and household items. Every time I go in I find something new. You can't really beat the deals in the store. The clerk was rude, no hi, did you find everything OK, she had a mad look on her face and acted as if she didn't want to be there. She rang up my items and in a very rude voice told me the total, took my money, again no smile nothing then she gave me my change, grab the receipt and threw it in the trash before even asking me if I wanted and move on to the next customer without a thank you or anything. I brought it to her attention that I wanted my receipt and I told her how rude she was to me and that after this visit, I would be looking at other places to spend money. There as a guy standing off to the side looked to be the store manager. I hope he has a conversation with her on how to be a good customer service person. This dollar tree is decent, fairly quiet, not as messy as some dollar tree locations. They have little knickknacks, and that's what they are good for. Don't go in expecting target or even big lots. Lower your expectations, spend 10 dollars and buy the store. Enough said! read more

This Dollar Tree is conveniently located in the shopping complex that is also close to Target and Best Buy...its all shopping in one go. The Dollar Tree is just great if you need something really quick and cheap like birthday decor items and throw away items. Another item are balloons for any occasions...just great! This dollar tree never has anything. Everything is always completely cleared out & never refilled. Since being back in mckinney for 6 months now, this was my 2nd time coming to this specific dollar tree. I knew not to go since they never have anything. But I still did, sadly. I went in for balloons & I went straight to that area. Helium is out...... then I started looking at the balloons that are blown up, thinking I could buy one. Then 1 out of the 2 employees simply stated "ma'am there's no helium." I asked "can't I not buy one of these? (Pointing at the ones up top for sale) he quickly said "no." I don't think this will be a shock to most people, but each item in this store costs a dollar or less. There may be some exceptions, but I didn't see any. The store is located in a relatively new retail development at the northeast corner of SH 121 (aka Sam Rayburn Tollway) and Custer Rd., with a number of other retailers nearby. Parking is plentiful. My nitpicking is pretty minor here; the carts are pretty small, but then again, they can't be much bigger as the aisles are small. They have a good selection of goods, but as you might expect, there are plenty of generics and off-brands. The killer find for me today was a 1.25oz tube of anti-fungal cream in the OTC medication section; a package almost half that size even at WalMart is $5 or more. They also carry a nice selection of seasonal merchandise, as well as some frozen and packaged foods. Honestly, I'd not been in a dollar store in my adult life, but I can definitely see coming back here for certain items in the future. read more

This is a nice store. Big, with a good selection of the things you need. Why pay grocery store prices for some of this stuff when you can get it for a dollar. I particularily like the disposabl aluminium pans for cooking. Im always taking things like my smoked brisket and ribs to friends and family and these come in handy. I love this dollar tree! I always come here for gift bags, wrapping paper, etc. They actually have a really good selection. Sometimes they have cute little holiday decor items as well. One cashier...15 people in line...another employee appears....and is promptly called to the back room to unload a truck. Management here is nonexistent and scheduling workers is obviously a joke. I have to agree with Brad N.'s review. There are a great many deals to be had here if you know what you are shopping for. I am a cheap #@%&@*,( I go there to buy my cologne for $1, a bottle)! It is a clone of the real stuff, but I don't care, as long as it smells right. The Aramis is great and for a buck a bottle HOW can you go wrong. Several other labels, Millionaire, and Cool Water has the fillies chasing me down the halls too. Woo Hoo!! Seriously, for some basic items you cannot go wrong. Was highly dissatisfied with the cleanliness and customer service of this dollar tree. As if scavenging through unorganized trash wasn't enough, at checkout the cashier was unprofessional and gave us the incorrect amount of change. She asked us to wait to correct her change mistake, so we did. When she opened the drawer to give change to the next customer she AGAIN forgot to give us our change even after asking us to wait. In conclusion, we left dissatisfied with the service, irritated with the wait, and missing some of our hard earned money. read more

I find this location cleaner and more organized than the store off el dorado. It's in the same shopping plaza as Target, Ross, Pet's Mart, Payless and Lowe's etc. so location is convenient. Always plenty of parking. read more

What a bad experience today in this store that I really love going to. We were in line, my daughter and I, and the lady in front of me was buying about 20 items- she was trying to purchase some trinket items that were on display just as you walk in the store. The cashier "Manager in Charge" told the customer she could not buy them. She said, why not? Cashier- because I can't sell them to you- they have been recalled. Customer- you sold them to the lady in front of me Cashier- I'm not going argue with you- you cannot have them( in a loud aggressive voice!) Customer - Shhh you don't have to get upset Cashier- Don't tell me what to do!! Just get out of my line, I'm refusing service to you, and made her leave her line- The customer did NOTHING WRONG!! I felt so bad for her- she went to the other line after gathering all of her items to be purchased. The cashier continued to smart off about the customer The customer was almost in tears and left the store without her items. I so wanted to say something but feared what this cashier might do... I have a call into corporate and hopefully they can get her retrained or let her go. I really hate to not go to this store anymore because I really like it!! Since I joined PINTREST, and they give ya' oddles of GREAT decorating ideas with what you can find here! Things I didn't know I NEEDED until we went in! The kitchen gadgets and mini flashlights are worth the trip. Now all my girls have those little lights in their purses and cars. Over door hooks, great for bathrooms and bedrooms. Using the glassware and candlestick holders and some glue u can paint and stack, great for organising ur makeup. It's my guilty , splurge trip! Staff was very nice too! read more

The "manager" Tina was very rude. My wife and I were told by another associate that we could exchange an item upon arriving since we could not obtain the receipt. We shopped for a while and got in line behind 10+ people. Finally we came up to Tina(not the lady we had spoken to initially as the lines were too big) she was very rude and loud. We advised that we were told we could exchange and she was very quick to say no and that the other lady told us incorrectly. We explained that we would not have bothered spending time shopping if we were told from the beginning that we could not as we were in a time crunch. She again was very short with us and said that the receipt says no exchanges without a receipt. We paid and then my wife left as I waited on my daughter to return from the restroom. During that time Tina began to raise her voice as she spoke to the other cashier in front of appx 15 customers laughing and making comments about my wife. I approached her and told her that we were still hear and it was rude and not good service for them to talk out loud about their customers to other customers. I requested the managers number and regional or city manager and she declined to give me the information for the city manager. She gave me Jayme's number and said no managers were available until Monday. I asked her again for the regional manager and she gave me a customer service # 757-321-5000 that went to automated system and voicemail was full... We spend $,1000's each year at your stores across the DFW area and would appreciate better service and respect for the customer. read more
