It's fun to shop, meet your friends there, people watch, etc. So before school started back up, we went to Stonebriar Centre to hang out for a couple of hours. It had been several years since I had been there. In past years, I went with one store as the destination- Macy's or Dillard's or to eat at Cheesecake Factory, so I really didn't go out into the mall area. I was surprised at their hours - they're open from 11- 8 Monday-Thursday, 10-9 on Friday & Saturday and 12-6 on Sunday. I like to get up and go early, but 11:00 is halfway through the day! But, I get it. Malls aren't as crowded as they used to be. In this Texas summer heat, I love the option of parking in covered parking! The food court area has lots of choices and a fun carousel! I'm happy that there is a nice, clean, air conditioned space to walk around for a few hours. I had a hard time finding a directory of this mall! Finally found a scannable QR code to give me that information. I miss the big maps of olden times where you could see all the stores on one big display - by floor level. But I'm sure it's much easier to keep the scannable version up-to-date.

Anchored by some significant retailers like Target,Dicks and beat buy,this center pulls more traffic than across the street resulting in a bigger selection of stores and restaurants. I tend to shop here more often as a result especially the easier to navigate landscape.

Also the mall is closer than this shopping center and they have the same type of stores. Walked it today and it's sad how it's declined. No Macy's and many restaurants have closed their doors. Not sure how this happened but it's sad. The dot com era has made people lazy. Unfortunately this is the outcome. I hope the people managing this shopping center property can come up with something other than getting a hardware store and insurance company to move in. I can't believe that they haven't thought of this when they all the buildings operating. Why isn't there a monorail, tram, connecting the Allen Outlet mall to the Fairview shopping center . Two rails keep the customer coming in and out without having to worry about parking and the traffic. Hope this Fairview shopping center gets revived.

Story time: there is free boxing classes for women once a month in the SAME parking lot at hidden gym I leave after my very hard but fantastic class to find out I'm locked out of my very big and bulky mom van. No worries, call the husband. He's slow, I have 2 hours until he arrives with the spare key. I dash over to good will, pick up a few items I DONT need and as I'm watching the items someone is watching ME. She's eyeing me as I'm going from post to bin and then as I'm snatching the buy tag off of a $30 couch I will be buying asap. Ma'am, how can I help YOU? She walks over and says Hey random stranger, I see your having a ball here in this crusty dusty goodwill, why don't you take a gander up the street and around the corner to this place that's LIKE good will but better. Me thinking to my self, you giving me directions like I didn't just walk over here. Long story even longer, I end up buying the goodwill couch , she points me over to this store and I walk in and it's like the Coach of second hand stores! Remember I said I had 2 hours, well my very bougie attorney friend lives around the corner, she called during my initial " I'm locked out" and was already on her way and decided to pull up the moment I stepped into this glorious second hand store. I quickly survey the entire store in oh I'd see 3 mins flat and spot ANOTHER couch I could take my eyes on. I had already scanned all the other couches and the prices were $200-300. The couch tho in question.. THIRTYYYYY DOLLLLLARS. That's right $30! So I wait in the very long lined purchase the couch , hop in the car with my bougie friend while she's tapping her gums about legal jargon I could care less about and ahhh!! A sigh of relief. 2 couches $60 bucks No way to fit either Life is GOOD! The end!

If there's a knock at all with the development at large, it's the lack of access on the west side, courtesy of the right-of-way reserved for a light rail deal which may never happen. Ingress on the north side is OK, and egress is fine if you're going east, not so much if you're going west. If you're going to be a regular customer, you'll probably discover that the north-south Allen Station Parkway along the east side is your best friend in terms of access. All in all, a nice place to visit, and you can shop, dine and be entertained, all in the same area.

Shoes are boring same in every other "boutique" and dresses always have a weird neck line or big pieces missing or too short. Come on get some class. Also the Jeans now days sometime a miss too. Mostly too the workers and own are not nice. I always ask myself why I continue to support a store who is never happy to see us and most of the time doesn't even ask if we need help. We probably come in once a month just with the hopes they will have some better clothes but sadly we end up buying online.
