nice clothes, but employees are often rude. I heard some body shaming today towards a teenager -- I wouldn't go back.

Store itself is super cute. Tons to look at and play with. Clear age and theme grouping. Had a lot of German toys in stock. But after giving this store a second chance, I feel parents deserve to know what to expect. A few weeks ago, I stopped in with my kids, who were excited to browse all of the adorable toys. Almost immediately, we noticed signs throughout the store emphasizing that this was essentially "not a toy store, but a place of business." The message came across as "children should be seen and not heard," which felt incredibly ironic for a business that exclusively sells children's toys. My kids are generally very well-behaved in stores. They know they aren't allowed to run, yell, or play with merchandise, and they certainly weren't being destructive. Like most children, though, they naturally picked up a few items that were displayed at their eye level. They were quickly reprimanded by both employees behind the counter for "looking with their hands." I chalked it up to a bad day. We left with a wish list because we don't typically buy toys unless our kids earn them. Today (8/12), my son had finally earned enough to come back and purchase something from his list. Unfortunately, the experience was even worse. While quietly browsing, both he and my eight-year-old daughter were once again met with visible annoyance and corrected for touching merchandise. If your business caters to children, it's unrealistic to expect them to browse exactly like adults. There's a huge difference between destructive behavior and a curious child gently picking up an item. Instead of making families feel welcome, the atmosphere made us feel like we were inconveniencing the staff simply by bringing children into...a children's store. Needless to say, we won't be returning. There are plenty of wonderful local businesses that manage to protect their inventory while still treating families with kindness and respect. May I offer one suggestion? If touching merchandise is truly such a problem, consider adding a small play table or designated hands-on area to redirect little ones. Or perhaps rethink the branding altogether. Ironically, my children receive a warmer welcome at the antique store down the street--where everything is actually breakable. Parents are your customer base. If you want their business, making both them and their children feel welcome seems like a good place to start.

Come to find out after she opened them that she had others she'd rather get and no one else in our house really cares for them so I went to return them but I double-checked their website to make sure they accept returns since it was a local store and I didn't want to waste a trip. The website says they do so I drove another 45 minutes to take them back. Get in the store...and they definitely accept returns... for store credit or exchange "only". So no cash returns. The cashier motioned to some out of the way picture on the side wall that states you can only return for store credit. Some advice to offer: It would be a better idea to put it where customers can actually see it like most stores with alternate return policies do (like on the checkout counter or mentioning it during checkout/making the policy clear that there are no cash returns) so they can make the decision for themselves if they'd still like to shop. Had I known I at least would have double-checked with my sister beforehand or wouldn't have shopped there at all. I don't have any family that young and I don't collect Jellycats so I have no use for the stuffed animals or the store credit. I just wasted $70 and gas...on a situation that could have been avoided with better transparancy. If I wanted to donate $70 I'd have given it to a cause that actually needed it this season. Do better.

They carry handmade, Fair Trade items from over 40 countries around the world. Every Item in the store benefits artisans directly. I find this respectful and liberating! Fair Trade decreases individuals dependency on aid in a dignified and long-lasting way. Shops like this help end cycles of poverty not only for families, often entire communities. It gives developing regions a respectful alternative that often preserves cultural crafts and traditions. This type of shop is a win-win for all. They offer home decor, gifts, women's accessories, and kids items. There is no service! You get to peruse the shop on your own! Great idea! No salesperson trying to talk to you while you shop. It was great! This past visit I asked the woman at the counter about finding a certain type of shoe. DONT DO BUSINESS HERE…read more Sellers, beware. You can have a lot of items, in good condition, clean, barely used. They will give you jack shit money wise. I had two full totes of good condition, clothing, blankets, and a few play toys, and they gave me nine dollars total. They offer you the option to wait in store for them to price your items and you are allowed to decline the sale if you'd like, but the typical wait time is estimated to be 45 minutes to an hour of just walking around the store waiting for them to look through your stuff. The other option is to leave your items and they will text you when they're finished, but you don't have the option to decline the sale after that, you can take what they won't buy home or they will "helpfully" donate them for you. In reality it actually took them 4 hours to send me a price, which I now can't decline, and my two full totes of items became $9 cash, BUT DONT WORRY you have the option to instead do store credit, a whopping 20% on top of the cash price and put your money back into the hands of the crooks who robbed you in the first place. They basically scare you out of waiting for them to price out, so that way you have no option but to leave and can't back out. Sell your items elsewhere or you're basically just giving them away, hell for the price they give you might as well actually just donate your used items.
